Top 10 Songs: One Direction

It was six years ago that Simon Cowell put together One Direction during that season of The X Factor, with them soon finishing in third place. Ever since then they've become the biggest boyband in the world with five albums released every year since 2011. So to celebrate One Direction's 6-year anniversary as a group, I'll be counting down my Top 10 favorite songs by them. Enjoy!

    So, getting back to what I was saying last page before this one came in, I'm as thrilled as most of you are to have a new #1, but I'm not sure it’s time for the One Dance dethroning party just yet. Cheap Thrills may be #1, but it’s only its first week there, and as I said, it’s not leading in any of the component charts. It doesn’t help that One Dance still has the video that has yet to drop, and they keep talking about it and if it’ll happen or not. But it looks like at this point, we won't have any record-breaking to worry about.

    Oh yeah, and this wasn't mentioned last page, but in addition to what . posted, Body Say by Demi Lovato debuted at #84. Guess we'll have to see if this one lives up to the success of its predecessor.

      I'm also surprised that @chartdata on Twitter didn't mention anything on Girls Talk Boys by 5 Seconds of Summer, which, seeing as that one was briefly in the Top 10 on iTunes, I would think would be on this round. We'll see tomorrow, though. (Darn it, Blogger needs an edit button...)

      Heh, yeah, Adrian, I said that because I've noticed how quickly he tends to grow out of songs based on his blog (CSTF, New Romantics, ITaPII, etcetera). As I'm sure I've said, if he was doing that in 2015, he would probably lose his mind over Uptown Funk, Thinking Out Loud, Shut Up and Dance, and all the Taylor Swift.

      But that aside... Of those songs listed...
      Final Song was on the YouTube15.
      Scars To Your Beautiful could possibly be included because it was recently a single.
      Into You and All In My Head (Flex) need to happen already.
      Bacon I could potentially see making it, but they'd most likely omit Ty Dolla $ign like with Work From Home.

    So, here's a little bit of fun trivia for you guys that dates back to earlier in this decade: 2014 is one of three years in Billboard history (in absolute precise, going by their publishing dates) to not have a single song that was #1 for only one week. The other two are 1994 and 2002.

    Just thought I'd share that because I felt like it.

      Minor correction, but U Got It Bad by Usher spent one week at #1 in 2001, which counts towards the 2002 chart year, but if we're talking Billboard calendar years then yeah nothing there only had one week on top.

      And before the Billboard charts became the Hot 100, 1953 had no songs that were only #1 for one week.
