Hey guys! Those of you following this blog back in late 2018 I'm sure know about the rankdown I hosted, which a good number of people participated. Despite the rankdown going on for a long time because of my busy schedule, I had a great time with it. It was fun to see what people thought of the music from 2013. So because the last one went well, I thought I'd host another one, and this time I tried to get a little bit more creative.
The idea behind this came from one of my favorite TV shows, America's Got Talent. They are currently in the middle of a spin-off series titled America's Got Talent: The Champions. In this series, the best acts from previous seasons of AGT as well as other Got Talent competitions around the world compete to see who is the ultimate champion. So I thought I would take this concept and relate it to modern music.
Basically, what this rankdown is is a competition to see what song we think is the best song of the decade, or the ultimate champion. I have selected 100 of the biggest hits from 2010 to 2018. Your job is to rank them based on your opinion. #1 is your favorite, while #100 is your least favorite. After submissions are closed, I will do all necessary calculations and start doing reveals to see what we think is the best of the decade (when I say "I", I mean "Excel"). The songs will be ranked using golf points, meaning that the lowest score wins. Each song will also include the average rank, the standard deviation, the median, its peak on the Billboard Hot 100, its rank in its respective Billboard year-end list(s), everyone's ranks, and my shortened review of the song. The results will be revealed similar to how I did it for my last rankdown. I'll reveal 10 songs at a time and reveals will most likely be once a week (not definitive).
To submit your list, you will use a Google Form, which I have provided for you. I encourage real names, but it's not required. You do, however, have to put something in the name box. It just needs to be appropriate. If it's not, I will exclude your list from the calculations and reveals. You can submit as "Anonymous" if you so choose. Then you just have to rank the hundred songs. I don't really care if you put in artist names or not as long as your consistent and everything is clear. However, I will ask that you please include numbers in your list. If you submit just a list of songs without them being numbered, it makes my life more difficult when entering your list into Excel and doing intermediate statistics. So please just number everything. I also encourage that you submit going from #1 to #100 instead of #100 to #1, but I'm not too picky about that. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to drop a comment down below and I'll gladly answer to clear up any confusion. The form link is below.

As far as deadlines go, I know ranking 100 songs is very time-consuming. So I want to give you guys as much time as possible. I also understand that this particular rankdown may be more difficult than the 2013 Year-End list, or at least it will be for me since I love a lot of the songs. As of right now, the deadline to submit your list will be Saturday, March 30 at 11:30 PM CST. So you have all of February and March to put your list together. I'm pretty flexible and can extend the deadline if anyone needs extra time. But if you know you want to submit, please try not to purposely procrastinate if at all possible. You have two months as of right now, which is plenty of time although I know people have things going on in their personal lives. So we'll see what happens when we reach the end of March.
So now, I present to you the 100 songs you will be ranking. These are 100 of the biggest songs from the 2010s decade!

Information Regarding Extras
Mixed in with the reveals, we will have some extras. For this rankdown, I've opened it up so that members of the Hits 1 Discord Server can submit songs from the 2010s as extras so that I don't have to pick all of them myself. They are songs that are from this decade and are not making appearances in the rankdown itself. You're encouraged to give thoughts on them, although it is optional.
As of right now, I'm planning to have five sets of extras, although I'm not yet sure how many songs will be in each set. That will be determined later.

Results
It is now time to begin revealing the results. There will definitely be lots of disagreements, so I ask that we be respectful in the comments. The songs are ranked based on my point system, meaning fewer points is better. In the event that there is a tie, the song with the higher highest ranking will be placed higher.
Now I think we're ready to start.

Blurb: This is one of the laziest "country" songs I've ever heard. It's very bland and the lyrics are terrible. No one wants their body to be compared to a street. I'm not surprised at this being last.
2017 is first to have a song out and Zachary, Nick, and Waffle are first to lose their bottom rankings.
99. Rihanna/Drake – Work (2016)

Blurb: It seems as though Rihanna has snagged #99 the second time in a row and for good reasons. Songs like Work and Pour It Up are some of her worst songs. I think this is really annoying and repetitive. I know she's more talented than this and I do like a handful of songs from Anti. But Work never did it for me.
Even though there were no #100 loses, there were a good nine Bottom 10 losses.
98. Usher/will.i.am – OMG (2010)

Blurb: I like Usher when he's not boring. But OMG is one of his worst songs and I really don't think it deserved to be as big as it was. I don't full-on hate it, but I most certainly do not like it. I didn't think it'd be out this early, but I can kind of see why.
Aidan is the first Top 10 loss of the competition. OMG is also 2010's first loss.

100. We Are My Babies10
Blurb: This song is one of the reasons why I despise a lot of modern rap music. It's pure nonsense. The song is beyond generic, excruciatingly boring, and just awful vocally and lyrically. This is just everything wrong with our current state of rap music. So I'm glad this ranked as low as it did.
Grandpa and Robbie Wilson are the first Top 5 losses. On the other hand, WAMB10 has lost her #100 and I have finally lost a Bottom 5. 2017 has also taken another hit.
96. Fetty Wap – Trap Queen (2015)

Blurb: Again, this is why I don't like a lot of modern rap music. I found this song extremely annoying and it did not deserve to be such a big hit. I can't stand his voice at all. I don't understand how this is Top 10-worthy. It's a terrible song.
Grandpa loses another Top 5, Aidan loses another Top 10, and Adam loses his first Top 10. CC and Anonymous also lose their #100s and Scott Strong loses a third Bottom 5. 2015 also loses its first song.

Blurb: I don't hate this like a lot of people do. I enjoyed this song a reasonable amount when it was a hit. It hasn't held up very well, but I don't hate it. This was just a relatively strong list. I'm also not sure if I prefer the original or the Nelly remix.
Waffle loses his second Bottom 5 and Anonymous and Hollow Man lose their first Top 5s. This is also 2013's first song to be eliminated.
94. DJ Snake/Lil Jon – Turn Down For What (2014)

Blurb: This song is fun at a party, but on its own, it's actually pretty annoying. I've been conflicted on this for a while, but in comparison to the majority of this list, it's really not that good. I didn't think it would be this low though.
DJ G has lost his #100 and Grandpa loses yet another Top 10. 2014 also loses its first song.

Blurb: I think this is a nice song and it being out this early is kind of absurd, especially when there are some pretty awful songs still in. But like, does this seriously deserve Bottom 10s? I think not. It should've done better.
Waffle loses a third Bottom 5 and Beluga loses their first Top 10. This is also 2016's second hit.

Blurb: If you've kept up with this blog, you've probably read one or more of my many rants on current sellout Zedd. As I've said before, he is incredibly talented as shown on Clarity and True Colors. But this is just so painfully generic for someone as talented as him. The drop is annoying, the ticking clock is overused, and Maren Morris does not good with auto tune. The fact that this is one of his biggest hits is really annoying. I'm glad to see it out even though there is worse. I don't understand how it has a Top 10.
Pyoris loses his #100 and Richard loses a Top 10. This is also 2018's first song to be eliminated.

Blurb: This song leaves me speechless because it's hard to believe there's a song that's actually this awful. My first time hearing it, I thought it was a joke. This is complete garbage and the fact that we made it a #1 hit in the U.S. says a lot about how shitty our taste has gotten. This should not have ranked about songs like Love Yourself and it should've been lower. Thank god this monstrosity did not escape the Bottom 10.
Grandpa loses his #1, leaving him with only two Top 5s and this is only the Bottom 10. Robbie Wilson loses another Top 5 and Frank Baker loses a Top 10. Meanwhile, Lukas, Jorge, and Scott S. all lose their #100s. Four other people lose their Bottom 5s.
This having the highest standard deviation does not surprise me.
2016 loses another song, having lost the most so far, while 2011 and 2012 have yet to be touched.
Statistics Following Bottom 10:
This is not something I'm going to do after every set. But I just wanted to do after the first ten so that we can see how everyone is doing so far from the start. Below is every participant and all the ranks they've lost in the Bottom 10. Those ranks are averaged out and ranked. Higher averages are better because that means you lost higher rank values.

Comments:
- I am the best-performing participant who still has their #100 in game.
- Zachary is the only participant to have their entire Bottom 5 cleared. Meanwhile, CC and Scott have their four of the Bottom 5 gone.
- Grandpa is the only participant to lose their #1 in the Bottom 10.
- Aidan is the only participant to have not lost a single red rank (i.e. ranks below #67) in the Bottom 10.

Blurb: You guys know I absolutely despise this song. Meghan Trainor is one of the worst songwriters of this generation. I do not agree with her message here where she promotes laziness and shames skinny people saying that "boys like a little more booty to hold at night". I understand she was trying to make this some kind of self-empowerment song, but the way it turned out is just so awful. And musically, it's annoying as hell with one of the most obnoxious choruses and I don't like her voice. She has somewhat improved over time, but I still don't really like her as a songwriter.
Don Pedley and Frank Baker ranked this at #2 for some reason. So Don loses his first Top 10 and Frank loses a second Top 10. As far as I know, this is the most #100 losses in one reveal and it deserves that. So Adam, Matt, Plasma, Richard, and I can all breathe knowing that this song thankfully did not get far.

Blurb: I don't hate this and I think it's far from her worst. She has done a lot better though. I don't like this as much now as I did back when it was a hit. I think it's a fine song. It's kind of catchy and I think it's a lot better than the other big single from Prism.
This is the first song to have no Bottom 5 losses and it's the first song since Work to have no Top 10 losses.

Blurb: I'm personally not a fan of new Bruno Mars. I prefer his older work. I'm not huge on his evolution. I can see the appeal, but it's just not for me and that includes That's What I Like. I never really liked this song and it being so overplayed did not help. I'm having a hard time deciding whether this is better or worse than 24K Magic and I honestly don't know because I think both suck.
Again, there are no Top 10 losses, which I guess is a good thing since this song is not very good. Lukas loses another Bottom 5 and Pyoris, Zachary, and I all lose another Bottom 10.

Blurb: I kind of liked as a guilty pleasure back in 2014. Coming back to this song, I thought it was annoying and it makes me wonder why we ever let Iggy Azalea have a hit. Even though Black Widow is great, I'm not huge on Iggy Azalea and Fancy is enough to explain why. Charli XCX's chorus also got annoying at some point and the song just doesn't hold up. It's very 2014 if that makes sense. Not the kind of song that's any good anymore.
2014 is really getting hit right now. This is its third song out in this set and its fourth song out overall. I can't say I'm surprised though because 2014 kind of sucked for the most part.

Blurb: This is a fine song that I didn't like at first, but it grew on me. It's pretty weak in comparison to the majority of this list, which is why I have it as low as I do. The fact that this was the #1 song of 2018 also shows how weak 2018 was for music. Fine song, not worthy of being #1 of the year. Although there are worse songs still in, I'm cool with God's Plan being out because it's not that good compared to its competition.
Beluga loses their #100 and Grandpa loses another Top 5, leaving him with one left. This is also the second 2018 song to go out following The Middle.

Blurb: This is far from her worst work after hearing songs like Bartier Cardi and Be Careful. She has most certainly has better than this as well. I just find this kind of annoying. I guess I can see the appeal, but I never really understood the appeal of Cardi B. Her music is just not very good in my opinion and that includes I Like It. But I will take this over a lot of her other stuff, which should say something.
2018 takes a third hit as I Like It falls out. PlasmaVortex28 loses their #1 and is the second #1 loss of the rankdown and CC loses his #2. How this is worthy of Top 2s, I have no idea. Scott, WAMB10, Matt, and Don also lose Bottom 10s.

Radio murdered this and it's gotten to the point where I am not happy whenever I hear this. So I'm glad this didn't get very high.
There are no Top 10 losses here, but Lukas loses a Bottom 10 and Hollow Man loses a Bottom 5.

Blurb: I really like this song as you guys probably know. It was one of my favorites of 2015 and I really thought it was a highlight. I like the message. The song is slow, but it's interesting at the same time. I love Hozier's voice and I'm glad this was a hit because it's the song that got me into him and his second album that came out earlier this year was great. I think this is overhated and deserved much better in this rankdown. Shout outs to all the green ranks for having good taste.
CC and Pyoris lose Top 10s. Grandpa, Robbie, and WAMB10 also lose Bottom 5s.

Blurb: I'm kinda shocked at how this one ranked. I thought this would be a lot higher given that it's Teenage Dream era Katy Perry and that's when she was at her peak. California Gurls, while not being the best single from the album, is a bop and it's something I can still jam to to this day. It's one of her signature songs and I really it. Snoop Dogg is great and it's insanely catchy. I think this deserved a lot better.
2010 takes its second hit after OMG by Usher and will.i.am went out at #98. Robbie and Aidan lose Bottom 5s.

Blurb: I was never able to get into this song. I remember always just being really annoyed by it. I don't like Cee Lo Green's voice. He is technically good, but his voice just bothers me personally. Other than that, I just think the song is annoying. I get the appeal, but it's not for me.
We have four Bottom 5 losses from DJ G, Matt, Pyoris, and Robbie. Lukas and Richard also lose Top 10s.
2011 has now lost its first song, which means 2012 is the only year left that has yet to be touched. I believe 2014 is the worst performing year as of right now with 5 eliminations.
With that, there will be no reveals for the next week because I'm going to be on vacation and won't have my laptop. So it'll be a while until the next set, but I'll keep you guys updated.
EXTRAS SET 1:
As I said before we began, there will be extras throughout the rankdown. Instead of picking them all myself, I opened it up to members of the Hits 1 Discord Server and I got a good amount of submissions. So there will be five sets of extras with six songs each.
Extra #1: Taylor Swift – Delicate
Sent By: Nick Perkins
Hot 100 Peak: #12
Year-End Rank: #24
My Opinion: Decent
Blurb: I'm not exactly huge on this song. I find it kind of boring. But it is the second best single from Reputation and there is certainly worse on the album. So I still give the song some credit. It is one of her weaker songs overall though.
Extra #2: Ariana Grande – No Tears Left To Cry
Sent By: Waffle
Hot 100 Peak: #3
Year-End Rank: #20
My Opinion: Good
Blurb: I have said numerous times that I find this song overrated and I still kind of stand by that. However, after Ariana Grande hit a new low with her latest album thank u, next, I've started to appreciate this song more since it's a million times better than her latest singles. Is it the best of 2018? No, but I like it enough.
Extra #3: 5 Seconds Of Summer – Jet Black Heart
Sent By: Pyoris
Hot 100 Peak: #95
Year-End Rank: N/A
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: I like a lot of these guys' songs and I think Jet Black Heart is their best followed by Want You Back. It's a very well put-together song with great instrumentation and great vocals. It's a very enjoyable listen and I wish it had been a bigger hit.
Extra #4: Alessia Cara – Here
Sent By: Lukas
Hot 100 Peak: #5
Year-End Rank: #94 (2015), #39 (2016)
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: I know I might've given this song shit when it was popular, but looking back on it, I quite like it. I think it's cool and unique. I really like the mood of the song and I think her vocals are strong. It was a cool concept and I much prefer this over whatever the hell it is she's doing now.
Extra #5: Sam Smith – I'm Not The Only One
Sent By: We Are My Babies10
Hot 100 Peak: #5
Year-End Rank: #26
My Opinion: Good
Blurb: I think this is a fine song even though it's not Sam Smith's best. I think this is my least favorite single from In The Lonely Hour, but it's still solid. His vocals are good and it's pretty nice overall. Just kind of boring at times I guess.
Extra #6: The Weeknd/Daft Punk – I Feel It Coming
Sent By: Scott Strong
Hot 100 Peak: #4
Year-End Rank: #34
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: I love this song. I believe it was #3 favorite song of 2017. It's so groovy and so chill. Very different from Starboy, but just as great. The Weeknd sounds great here and I love the production. Daft Punk's electronic-sounding vocals are like the icing on the cake. It's such a great song and I'm glad this was a single and a hit.
Feel free to share your thoughts on these songs if you wish. Reveals will continue with #80 most likely tomorrow.

Adam and Hollow Man each lose a Bottom 5. This is also the second 2011 song lost in a row.

Blurb: Again, I'm surprised that this is this low. I thought this was more loved, especially with it having made Top 10 in the 2013 Year-End rankdown. It's very cool and unique. Definitely a standout from 2013 and I like that it gave Daft Punk some mainstream success. And one thing's for sure, Pharrell's performance here is much better than his performance in his other 2013 hit that is somehow still in the competition. The only reason I put this near the middle is because it was a strong list.
For some reason, this song has two Bottom 5 ranks and I'm not really sure why. This is not worthy of a #99 when there are actual bad songs in the list. On the other side of things, Jorge loses his first Top 5.

Blurb: My feelings on this song have been mixed ever since it was released. At first I didn't like it. Then for the longest time, I thought it was okay. Then I actually started to like it enough for it to barely make my Top 45 Songs of 2018. And now I just don't really care for it and it bugs me that this is their biggest hit because it's a mediocre song compared to their earlier work from their first two albums. It's not a good sign when Cardi B is the best part of the song.
I can see why this song has one of the lower standard deviations of the rankdown aside from the two end rankings. Matt loses another Bottom 10 and Robbie is the third #1 loss of the rankdown. This isn't even better than a couple of the other Maroon 5 songs here, let alone #1 of the whole list.

Blurb: I kind of thought this would do a little bit better as a dancehall track. But because it has rap, I shouldn't be very surprised. I like this song quite a bit. I know I only put it #41, but like I said, it was a strong list and Unforgettable is definitely a great song. The verses are good and I love Swae Lee on the chorus. The production is great and I love the beat. It's just a cool song that I don't think is worthy of all these low rankings. #100s for this? Seriously?
Nick, Grandpa, Lukas, and Waffle all lose a Top 20 rank. WAMB10 loses another Bottom 10 and Don and Anynomous both lose their #100s.
This might be the first song to have more green ranks than red ranks (not including the two orange ranks).

Blurb: I might've put this one a little high, but I do really like this song and it's one of the reasons why Teenage Dream era Katy Perry is the best Katy Perry. It has cool production. It's a very interesting song with great vocals and I like Kanye's contribution here as well. It may not be her best, but I see nothing wrong with it and she has a lot worse.
DJ G and Frank are the only Top 20 losses and Pyoris and Adam are the only Bottom 10 losses. 2011 also loses a third song.

Blurb: My thoughts on this have changed over time. I appreciate it as a song, but at times I find it kind of dramatic and it's just not something I'd go out of my way to listen to, nor is it something I'd want to hear on the radio. I like Adele. I think she's talented. But this is not her best work in my opinion. I can't really say I'm surprised by this song's placement.
Nothing too notable here given that it has the second lowest standard deviation. It is, however, 2016's first loss since Panda by Desiigner at #91 and the fourth 2016 loss overall.

Blurb: I'm sure we're all surprised this song got this far. Now you guys know who actually supports it. I really do not like this song. I think lyrically, it's terrible. And musically, it's just really boring and basic. It's a shame that this is what it took to give Robin Thicke a smash hit. He has talent, but this does not show that.
Nick, DJ G, Lukas and I all lose Bottom 5s while Anonymous and Hollow Man lose Top 5s. Frank also loses his #1 and I'm not sure why this would be anyone's #1. It's also interesting how the past three songs have had only two-point differences

Blurb: I know I did not like this song at first, but my relationship with it did a 180 and I like it a fair amount now. 21 Savage still kind of sucks on it, but I like Post here and it has a good vibe. Definitely better than its successor, Psycho. Having said that, it is still weak in this list, which is why I ranked it as low as I did. It's not a bad song by any means.
Beluga, Don, WAMB10, and CC each lose a Bottom 10. On the other hand, Hollow Man, Grandpa, Aidan, and Adam each lose a Top 10. Grandpa losing his #3 officially clears his Top 5. He only has four Top 10s left. This is also 2018's fifth loss.

Grandpa, Anynomous, Frank, and Richard each lose a Bottom 10. Adam, Don, and Lukas lose Top 10s and Nick unfortunately loses his #1.

But Sugar is not one of them. Something about this song always just bugged me and I don't like Adam Levine's falsetto. I can usually tolerate it, but it does not sound good in songs like this and Feelings. I'm glad this is finally out.

However, it is weak compared to the majority of this list, which is why I think it should've been out a little bit sooner and not after songs like Somebody That I Used To Know, California Gurls, Unforgettable, etc. But it clearly has a good amount of supporters, which is why it got as far as it did.

I get the appeal, but I think the other Teenage Dream singles that were eliminated already deserved to be higher than this one. Just my opinion though.

But I gotta say, I think this is one of the most memorable hits of 2012 with how much I've heard it at school dances. It's obviously made for a club and it is a lot of fun and very catchy. Is it Nicki's best work? No, but I like it for what it is.

I especially like Fergie and will.i.am here. The verses are catchy and it has a really nice chorus. I see nothing wrong with this and I don't understand how this is worthy of Bottom 10 ranks. But whatever. I'm happy this had a good few supporters even though I wish this did better.
DJ G, Richard, Zachary, and I all lose Top 10s. Meanwhile, Adam and Anynomous lose Bottom 10s.

Blurb: I thought this was more loved. I'm a little surprised by how low it ranked. I think this is one of the best songs Bruno Mars has been involved in. I really like what he had to offer here and B.o.B's verses are great. I used to love this song growing up and I still do. I think it's pure nostalgia and that's why it stuck with me. I don't see how this is Bottom 10 worthy. I really don't. It's a great song and a highlight of 2010.
Matt unfortunately loses his #1, but Adam and Zachary lose some Bottom 10s. This is also only the third 2010 loss. So that year has been doing pretty good so far.

I hear minimal differences between the original and the remix. Bieber sounds good. I like Luis Fonsi here and I love Daddy Yankee's verse. It's just a very fun song, but was in a strong list, which is why I couldn't put it higher. But I'm satisfied with how it did here.
Waffle and Grandpa lose some more Bottom 10s and Matt unfortunately loses another Top 10 immediately after losing his #1.

Blurb: Despite one of the best rap singles from 2017. I have much respect for Kendrick Lamar and I think he's one of the best rappers of our time mostly because of his lyricism, but he has great flow as well. And he just seems like a very humble* man and I like that about him. This song is really good, but I don't think I love it as much as XXX and DNA. This one is just slightly overrated, but it is still a great song and deserved better.
Don, Beluga, and DJ G all lose Bottom 10s. Grandpa, Waffle, and Jorge also lose Top 10s, with Grandpa only having three left.

Blurb: This is one of those songs where I'm just not sure why I liked it at first. It's pretty basic and bland for Sia standards after the amazing Chandelier and Elastic Heart. Even Alive was better than this and I wish Move Your Body had been the big single from This Is Acting instead of this. I like Sean Paul here, but the production is not very interesting and the kids in the chorus are annoying. Radio also murdered this song to the point where it become a little unbearable. So yeah. It really didn't stick well with me and the fact it placed above Humble is a bit absurd, but that's just my opinion. What I did not realize was that this was apparently a #1 hit here in the US. I did not know that, so I think it's one of the most forgettable #1s of the decade.
Hollow Man and Lukas lose some more Bottom 10s. This is also one of the first few songs to have more green ranks than red ranks, which of all songs, why this one? Am I really one of the few people here who thinks this song is annoying?

Blurb: Why did this place so high? It's so generic and bland. I do not get the appeal to this whatsoever. Right from start, I was mixed on it and it's not the kind of song that holds up very well. The production is bland and underwhelming. Bieber sounds fine, but could be a lot better. Chance does not sound that good, autotuned Quavo sounds pretty bad, and Lil Wayne is what I would expect from him. I just don't get why this was so big. It's very lazy, bland, boring, and generic. This should've gone out a while ago. I don't get why this has so many high ranks.
Zachary loses a Bottom 10, which is good because this song is almost Bottom 10 worthy. Aidan and Grandpa lose Top 10s, with Grandpa only having two left at this point.
2017 took three hits this set, with I believe only 5 songs left in the rankdown.
EXTRAS SET 2:
Extra #7: Panic! At The Disco – Death Of A Bachelor
Sent By: Pyoris
Hot 100 Peak: #92
Year-End Rank: N/A
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: I quite like this song and I think it's one of Brendon Urie's strongest vocal performances in his career. It's not their best work by any means, but I find it to be the most memorable track from Death of a Bachelor because wow this man can sing.
Extra #8: Kiesza – Hideaway
Sent By: We Are My Babies10
Hot 100 Peak: #51
Year-End Rank: N/A
My Opinion: Good
Blurb: It's catchy and I kind of like her voice. But it's very forgettable to the point where I keep forgetting the song exists and the monkey sounds are not exactly doing the song any favors.
Extra #9: Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj – Side To Side
Sent By: Lukas
Hot 100 Peak: #4
Year-End Rank: #77 (2016), #43 (2017)
My Opinion: Bad
Blurb: I know I used to like this, but it faded on me big time. I don't think reggae-pop suits Ariana very well. The chorus got kind of annoying at some point and radio playing it all the time didn't exactly help. But I mostly just think this genre isn't for Ariana. I like Nicki's verse though. But this along with Thank U, Next is not what I like to hear from Ariana Grande. She is more talented than this.
Extra #10: Charlie Puth – Attention
Sent By: Nick Perkins
Hot 100 Peak: #5
Year-End Rank: #22
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: For me, it's between this and Done For Me for Charlie Puth's best song. I quite enjoyed listening through Voicenotes and I think Attention served well as the lead single. It's very catchy and very groovy. Charlie Puth sounds great. It's well-written. I'm glad this was a hit and that he improved from Nine Track Mind.
Extra #11: Britney Spears – Till The World Ends
Sent By: Scott Strong
Hot 100 Peak: #3
Year-End Rank: #27
My Opinion: Love
Blurb: I have such great memories with this song. This kind of music is what I miss about the early 2010s. This is a jam, much like plenty of Britney's music. I quite like her as an artist and this song is pretty much what I like about her. It's fun, catchy, and super memorable.
Extra #12: Lady Antebellum – Just A Kiss
Sent By: Me
Hot 100 Peak: #7
Year-End Rank: #42
My Opinion: Love
Blurb: In case it hasn't already been clear, I love Lady Antebellum. They're probably my favorite country act of all time. They know how to make nice ballads and catchy jams. Just A Kiss is a really nice song that I just love everything about. Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley have amazing chemistry and I love how they harmonize together. They're talented musicians. The song is beautifully-written. It's essentially everything I love about Lady Antebellum in one song. I'm so happy that this was a hit.
Feel free to share your thoughts on these songs if you wish. Reveals will continue with #60 very soon.

This song is also pretty much everything I love about them. Great lyrics, great vocals, amazing chemistry. This is one of those songs that's timeless and is so memorable. It was a true highlight of 2010 and the fact that it was #2 of the year peaking at #2 is quite impressive. Clearly people here don't get it and I guess that's okay. But it's songs like this one that remind me of how much better music was back then than how it is today.
Grandpa putting this as low as he did does not surprise me. Frank also loses a Bottom 5. I unfortunately lose my first Top 5 with Zachary and Hollow Man losing Top 10s.

Blurb: I give this song credit for being one of the biggest jams of its time. It's very memorable and something that always gets stuck in your head. I don't know if it deserved to be as massive as it was, but I do think it is a really fun song and I like quite a bit. I have great memories with it and this was something I would always hear at school dances and stuff like that. I've had fun with this song, so I like it.
This is the first song with no Bottom 10s since Starships at #68. Lukas unfortunately loses a Top 5, but other than that there was only one other Top 20. It's also rare that I see the two anonymous users with ranks close to each other because I've noticed how different their ranks have been for many of these songs.

Blurb: This is pure nostalgia. Like this used to be my jam. I loved this song back then and I still really like it. It's so fun and so catchy. The chorus is infectious. This is what I loved about pop music at the time. It was just so much fun and Taio Cruz sounds great. Ludacris might not have added much, but I like what he had to contribute. So yeah. I only know three Taio Cruz songs, but they are all bops and that includes Break Your Heart. I kind of wish this did better.
I do not see how this is Bottom 10-worthy, especially #99-worthy. I'm much more able to see why Matt and Scott put this in their Top 10s. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to pull it into the top half.

Blurb: With how low Love Yourself ranked, I'm pleased with how this song ranked. It is a great song and I can understand if people don't like early Justin Bieber. But this song is undeniably great. It has good lyrics, great vocals, and it's really well-produced. There's legitimately nothing wrong with this and I'm glad this was as big of a hit as it was.

Blurb: I've already talked about this before many times. I think this is annoying and a ripoff of Sara Bareilles' song Brave, which is better than this. I just could never get into this, but I guess I see the appeal? I like old Katy Perry, but Prism was not her best work and this lead single is a reason why. So yeah, I'm glad this didn't last long here as it did in the 2013 Year-End Rankdown. While I wish it was out sooner and not after Bieber and most of her other songs here, I'm happy it didn't stay longer.
Nick loses his #99 and Matt and I lose Bottom 10s. I believe my Bottom 10 is now officially cleared. Robbie also loses another Top 5.

I'm not sure I'd call it a great song though, which is why I ranked it as low as it did. Despite it being so big, it has not been that memorable to me since Drake has come and gone with other massive hits. It's still a good song though looking back on it. I don't really see how it's Bottom 10-worthy.
Robbie is the only Bottom 10 loss and we have no Top 10 losses here for the first time since Cheap Thrills.

It's miles away from Justin Timberlake's best work, but I appreciate this song for what it is. It's a really fun song and deserved all the success it got. I kind of thought this would be in a little bit longer, but I'm cool with where it placed.

I'm not huge on Jennifer Lopez as a whole, but On The Floor is one of the few songs of hers that I was actually able to really get into. It has a really cool vibe with an infectious chorus and catchy verses. JLo sounds great. I like Pitbull's contributions. This is a collab that worked really well in my opinion and I'm happy it made it this far because I kind of thought it would do worse. It's a really great song.
Anonymous loses a Bottom 10 and Adam loses his #99. I'm not sure why this is #99-worthy but whatever. Unfortunately, Aidan, DJ G, and Zachary all lose Top 10s.

Blurb: I'm not too surprised by how divided we are on this one. I think this is a really nice song and that's kind of what we needed at the time in 2014. It was Sam Smith's first real big hit as a solo artist after being featured on Disclosure's Latch and I really liked it and I still do. It has great vocals, really well-written lyrics about love and one-night stands. It has a nice emotional vibe that makes it so that you can actually feel something while listening to the song and I think that's important. I'm not sure if it's my favorite Sam Smith song, but it's one that I like quite a bit.

96. We Are My Babies10
Blurb: Of course this song got big because of the Kiki challenge and all that good stuff. I do think it is a quality piece of work though. Sure, it's not Drake's best, but it's one of the more tolerable songs on Scorpion. It has a really catchy beat and Drake sounds good. I also really like how he sampled the City Girls in this song for some reason. I thought it was a really good fit. All in all, really good song, but I can see why we're divided.
WAMB10 loses her final Bottom 5. The two anonymous users also both lose Bottom 10s, which is an extremely rare occurrence. Grandpa and Hollow Man lose Top 10s. Then we have Robbie. When I put this rankdown together, I certainly did not envision anyone putting 2018 songs in their Top 2 since it's for the whole decade. But then Robbie came along and this is what we got. I do not see how this is Top 2 of the whole decade.

Blurb: Clearly this song has people divided. I liked it at the time, but it really has not held up well. I find the production not very interesting and the drop is super annoying. I think this was a poor follow-up to Roses and I don't think it deserved to be as big as it was. It's not awful, but The Chainsmokers have proven themselves to be capable of more.

Blurb: I'm surprised this didn't get very many high rankings. It's definitely one of The Weeknd's best in my opinion and I just the whole vibe of it with the cool electronic production. It's very unique and very interesting. Daft Punk did a great job here. I know some of The Weeknd's successors took inspiration from this, but this is the original song and it blew me away my first time hearing it. I kind of wish this did better. It's a great song.
Hollow Man is the only Top 10 loss, but for some reason we have three Bottom 10 losses, which I find particularly shocking. I guess I just don't see how this song can be that bad.

Just everything about her voice here is amazing in the verses and the pre-chorus with the vocal layers. I love the chorus as well. Adele is kind of known for making slower ballads, but songs like this are what make her stand out. I wish this stuck around longer.
Richard is the only Bottom 10 loss. But DJ G, WAMB10, Jorge, and Don all lose Top 10s unfortunately. We tried, guys.

I think Ne-Yo handles the chorus really well. He has a great voice and it shows here. The song is really catchy and I think it was a highlight of the early 2010s. I'm glad this was a hit and I wish it did better here.

I'm a sucker for love songs, which is why I really like this. Very well-made song with great vocals and really nice songwriting. As someone who was in a relationship for a while, I can appreciate the song's message and I just love a good love song. They honestly just make me happy and I think we need more of that kind of music in mainstream. I'm glad this was a single.
Thankfully no one put this in their Bottom 10 and quite a few people ranked this high, which is pretty nice to see. I thought this would be more hated, so consider me pleasantly surprised.

Blurb: I like this song quite a bit. Out of everything Bruno Mars released after Doo-Wops & Hooligans, this is probably my favorite. It's very catchy and fun. I really like the chorus and I think he sounds great here. I expected this one to do better, but apparently a couple people here think is the one of the ten worst songs here.
Richard and PlasmaVortex28 are the two Bottom 10 losses and we have no Top 10 losses for the second time in a row. Will this streak keep up? (

Blurb: I'm surprised this song made it this far. It's good and sure, it's pretty nostalgic. But it's kind of bland at the same time and The Wanted have done a lot better like with Chasing The Sun and We Own The Night. This is still good but 2012 had much better to offer in my opinion.
Pyoris is the only Bottom 10 loss, but Zachary, Richard, CC, and Scott all lose Top 10s.

Blurb: I remember when I used to like this song and now I don't know what the hell I was thinking. This is generic EDM at its finest. The drop is one of the blandest things I've heard in years and there is virtually no vocal chemistry between Drew Taggart and Halsey, both of whom sound very mediocre here. I like The Chainsmokers and I think they're talented, but this is not that good and people only love it because of how huge it was and the fact that it's The Chainsmokers and Halsey. This is one of the most generic songs of 2016 and 2017 and it did not deserve to get this far.
For some reason, Anynomous and Hollow Man think this is the third best hit of the decade. On the other side of things, CC, Frank, and Grandpa lose Bottom 10s, with the latter finally losing his #100.

Blurb: I expected variations in the rankings for this song because I know it's one that has people divided. To be fair, I can see why people may find this song annoying. It was inescapable in 2012. But I just can't help but love it. It's so much fun and it's so catchy. What's sad though is that this is the only thing a lot people know Carly Rae Jepsen by when she in fact has gotten a lot better ever since she released her album Emotion. I do not think Call Me Maybe is her best work, but I do think it deserved all the success it got. I just wish her newer stuff wasn't so underrated.
No bottom 10 losses here, but Adam loses another Top 10. 2012's music is also slowly getting shot as this is its second loss within this set of five.

Blurb: I love this song as well as Lady Gaga in general. This was obviously massive at the time and I find it interesting that it only peaked at #2 (because it was blocked by Kesha's TiK ToK). This song is just so much fun and is incredibly catchy. It was my jam back in 2010 and it's still great to this day. I'm not sure it's my favorite Lady Gaga song, but it's definitely up there. I really thought this would have more love and make the Top 20, but clearly some here are not very fond of this song, which I can't say I really understand. But to each their own I guess.
PlasmaVortex28 is the only Bottom 10 loss. Waffle loses a Top 5 and unfortunately WAMB10 is the next #1 loss.
EXTRAS SET 3:
Extra #13: Taylor Swift – Shake It Off
Sent By: Lukas
Hot 100 Peak: #1
Year-End Rank: #13 (2014), #18 (2015)
My Opinion: Mediocre
Blurb: I know I liked this song at the time, but a good pop song is one that holds up well years later and this one does not. It's not bad by any means, but it's pretty cheesy and feels a little cluttered at times. It's my least favorite single from 1989 by a clear mile.
Extra #14: Halsey – Colors
Sent By: We Are My Babies10
Hot 100 Peak: N/A (#8 in Bubbling Under)
Year-End Rank: N/A
My Opinion: Good
Blurb: I have not been a fan of Halsey in recent years aside from a few select songs. Colors is kind of enjoyable. I think it was well-produced and I like the chorus. My only issue is that I don't really like Halsey's voice. But this is definitely better than a lot of what she's released, including her last two singles.
Extra #15: Ariana Grande – Into You
Sent By: Waffle
Hot 100 Peak: #13
Year-End Rank: #51
My Opinion: Good
Blurb: I've had an interesting relationship with this song over the years. I think this song is quite good. She sounds really good in the verses and especially the pre-chorus. The chorus kind of gets old after a while and I don't think this song holds up that well with time. It is good and it's one of her best singles. But I just don't love it that much.
Extra #16: Linkin Park/Kiiara – Heavy
Sent By: Pyoris
Hot 100 Peak: #45
Year-End Rank: N/A
My Opinion: Very Bad
Blurb: This goes back to my comment earlier about how a good pop song is one that holds up well over the years. I know this may seem like a sudden change in opinion, but I just listened to this for the first time in years and I did not like it at all. I've been listening to a lot of older Linkin Park songs like Bleed It Out and Breaking The Habit, so listening to this put me in the shoes of those who were negative to this song initially because of how bland it is compared to what they've done before. It is very bland and generic and the vocals are hard to listen to. I still like Linkin Park for their old work and there are a few good songs from One More Light, but this is pretty bad and I'm not exactly sure why I liked it before. I hate being negative to these guys, especially after what happened to Chester, but I have to be honest.
Extra #17: Taio Cruz/Kylie Minogue/Travie McCoy – Higher
Sent By: Me
Hot 100 Peak: #24
Year-End Rank: N/A
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: There are a few versions of this song: a solo, one with Kylie Minogue, and one with Travie McCoy. I really like all of them so that's why I credited it like that. This is the often forgotten single from Rokstarr with Break Your Heart and Dynamite having been huge. But I really like it. I think it's fun and catchy. Kylie sounds great in her version and I like Travie's verses in his version. It should've been bigger, but it had a good peak.
Extra #18: Snoop Dogg/Bruno Mars/Wiz Khalifa – Young, Wild, & Free
Sent By: Nick Perkins
Hot 100 Peak: #7
Year-End Rank: #32
My Opinion: Decent
Blurb: For some reason I was not familiar with this song until recently. I expected it to be worse than it actually is. It's a fine listen, but at times it's kind of boring and I'm not huge on Wiz Khalifa's delivery. 2012 was a great year for pop music and I don't feel that this lived up to that greatness, but it is far from a bad song.
Feel free to share your thoughts on these songs if you wish. Reveals will continue with #40 very soon.

It's very sweet lyrically, the piano work is good, and I like how he sounds here. It's definitely one of his best songs in my opinion. I just couldn't put it higher because it was a tough list for the most part. I'm glad it was able to make the Top 40 though.
PlasmaVortex28 loses a second Bottom 10 in a row after Bad Romance at #41. Frank, WAMB10, and Zachary all lose Top 10s, while Scott unfortunately loses his #2.

Blurb: I talked about why I love this song in my Best Songs of 2017 post. I don't like DJ Khaled as an artist or even a person. But I thought this song was a win for him, especially after the beyond generic I'm The One. The beat is really good and I love how the Santana guitar sample was incorporated into the song. Rihanna sounds great and even Bryson Tiller has a really good verse. But I just love the whole Latin vibe the song has going. It's very cool and unique. I'm glad this was a hit and that it did this well in this rankdown even though some people here aren't exactly fans. Maybe I should've put this higher but it was a strong list.
Aidan, Hollow Man, and Pyoris all unfortunately lose Top 10s. I don't exactly think this song is Top 10 of the decade worthy, but it's much more worthy of that than Bottom 10 of the decade (looking at you Scott).

Blurb: I don't love this song now as much as I used to. It's still great, but over the past couple of years, The Weeknd has been releasing songs that I'd argue are better. So those kind of overshadowed this one. This is still great though. I think it's cool and unique. It's very interesting and dark. I love the vibe of the song. I think the vocals are really good. This definitely stood out in its year and I'm glad it was a hit.

Blurb: A lot of places I go, there's pretty much unanimous love for this song. I think it's great. I do not think it is amazing nor do I think this is one of the best hits of the decade. Drake has great flow here and he's very energetic, which is something that's missing in a lot of his other songs like God's Plan, which is why this stands out. It's very fun, catchy, and enjoyable all around. However, I'm not sure this is something I will revisit years later. But who knows?
Nick, Waffle, Jorge, and CC all lose Top 10s. Not really surprised by that. What I am surprised by are the five Bottom 10s for this song. Even though I like the song, I can see why others would not. Scott has now officially lost all of his Bottom 10. I also want to point out how different the median is for this particular song.

Blurb: I like this song even though it's objectively kind of bland. It's not exactly the most interesting thing Calvin Harris has produced, but I really like Rihanna's vocals here. The only real issue is that while the build-up is good, it does not lead into a very interesting drop. Other than that, I enjoy the song. But I think a lot of Rihanna's other songs are better. This is the one album whose singles I revisit the least from Rihanna.
Richard loses a Bottom 10, but this song also has five Top 10 losses, including the loss of Anonymous' #1 unfortunately.

Blurb: I know I used to like this, but over time I've decided that it is a decent song and is quite overrated. It is not one of the best songs of the decade nor is it anywhere near their best work. A ton of the Blurryface album cuts are much better than this song. I'm talking about songs like Fairly Local, Lane Boy, Doubt, Hometown, etc. I think this is one of the weaker songs on the album, so of course it was the big radio single. But I'm just saying that they have much better, instrumentally and musically complex songs than this one. I believe this is the most basic track off the album.
I was not expecting Bottom 10s for this song. I guess it's a good thing because I really don't think this song should've ranked this high. But unfortunately, Adam, Pyoris, Frank, and Don all lose Top 10s.
Now similar to 2018, 2016 has one song remaining.

Blurb: Y'all did this song dirty for 2013 when it just barely missed the Top 10. This is even worse. But hey, it made it to green, so that's something for me to be happy about. I just think everything about this song is beautiful from the production to the electric guitar to the lyrics. The vocals are great. I love the percussion here. It's very cool and was a stand out in 2013. I honestly see no flaws in this song. To me, it's perfection. I love everything about it and I can consider it an all time favorite of mine, which is saying something since I'm not considering very many recent songs as all time favorites.
For some reason, PlasmaVortex put this in their Bottom 10. But DJ G and I lose Top 10s and Anonymous loses a Top 5.
This is not a good thing since the song is amazing, but it's worth pointing out that exactly ⅓ of the participants put this in green, blue, and red.

Her voice sounds amazing here and I love how it's a duet with Nate Ruess. I think they sound amazing together. The song was very well-written. Just like with Mirrors, I see almost no flaws with this song. I just think it's fantastic and I kind of wish it did better. But I'll take what I can get.
For some reason, PlasmaVortex believes this is the second worst song in this list. I'm not sure why. But Beluga, Nick, and Matt all lose Top 10s unfortunately.

Blurb: I enjoy this song quite a lot as you guys know. It's a big favorite of mine from 2016 and I think it's great that we were able to give Mike Posner another hit and something else for him to be known for aside from Cooler Than Me, which is also great. But this one just really worked out and I think the SeeB remix only helps convey the emotion of the song. It's very well-written and well-sung. I'm happy that it did this well.
Four Bottom 10s for this for some reason. But unfortunately we also have four Top 5 losses, including the loss of Scott's #1.
And with that, 2016 has officially been eliminated from the rankdown.

Blurb: I liked this song at first, but it's become quite overrated in my opinion. Sure, it's catchy and all. But I don't think it deserves its title as #1 song of 2017. The song is cute. It's nowhere near Ed Sheeran's best and I don't think it should've been as big as it was, especially over Castle On The Hill, which is the much better song. But clearly people seem to be okay with this song since this is the least amount of red ranks I've seen so far.
Only two Bottom 10 losses, as well as two Top 10 losses and that includes the loss of Hollow Man's #1. 2017 now only has one song left.

Blurb: I like this song quite a bit and it's one of the reasons why I really liked 2012. It's not Kelly Clarkson's best by any means. But I think it's fun and I like anthemic songs like this. I didn't expect it to do this well but I'll certainly take it.
Hollow Man is the only Bottom 10 loss. It must suck to have a Bottom 10 be higher than your #1. Beluga and Anynomous also lose Top 10s.

Blurb: I know a certain someone was wondering why this song was still in. But I really like this. I think it's sweet and I love when Ed Sheeran does ballads like this. It's beautifully-written and very well-sung. And for about a year when I was in a relationship, I was actually able to relate, which might have something to do with why the song has grown on me significantly. But I really like it now and I'm so happy to see how well it did here. If I were to redo my list, I probably would've ranked it higher.
The tasteless breakfast pastry placed this in his Bottom 5 unsurprisingly. We also unfortunately have three Top 5 losses.

Blurb: I think this song is perfectly enjoyable for the most part. It's certainly not Ariana's best, but it's far better than what she has released this year. I think her voice shines here and is the best thing about it. But the chorus with the whispering voice gets old and so does the sax. Iggy Azalea's verse is okay I guess, but nothing that memorable. It's still a fine song though, but it was also a strong list. That being said, I think this is too high.
Zachary is the only Bottom 10 loss, but we also lose four Top 10s, including Waffle and Frank's Top 5s.

Blurb: This is definitely a great song, but it has somewhat burned on me over time. It's an enjoyable listen, but far from my favorite from Taylor Swift and I don't think it's necessarily one of the best songs of the decade. If I were to redo this, I might not have ranked it as low as I did, but it was definitely a strong list.
Nick and Robbie lose Top 10s. I also got quite impressed while entering the ranks because I thought this would be the first song with no Bottom 20 ranks, and then I got to Frank.

Blurb: This song burned on me quite a bit. It's still a fine listen but I just don't really care about it anymore, I forget it exists, and I just don't think it's anywhere near Bruno Mars' best work. It's still my favorite single from 24K Magic though. But I'm just trying to understand why I ranked this higher than Thrift Shop. It's clear that I, like everyone else, ranked this a long time ago.
Poor Waffle loses his Top 2 back-to-back soon after losing his #3 (Problem). He now only has two Top 10s left. But Hollow Man loses a Bottom 10. 2018 has also been officially eliminated.

Blurb: This one I don't regret ranking where I did. I think it's a very great song and deserved all the success and acclaim it received. Definitely one of Ellie Goulding's best songs and easily the best thing I've heard from any Fifty Shades soundtrack. Just everything about it is great and it's such a well-made love song that isn't overproduced, but isn't boring at the same time. When I think of the word "divine", this is one of the songs that comes into my head because it just sounds divine honestly. I kind of wish it did better, but I'll take what I can get.
Three Top 10 losses from Pyoris, Nick, and WAMB10. Despite this loss, 2015 is still going with three songs left.

Blurb: I don't have much to say about this one. It's a very catchy jam that has proven to be one of Pitbull's best pieces of work, even if the harmonica gets annoying at some point. But the fun energetic verses with great flow and exceptional chorus performance from Kesha just did it for me. I'm happy with how this song did here.
Anynomous and Frank lose some Top 5s here unfortunately. But hey, I think this is the first song with no Bottom 20 ranks. That's my guess because I'm too lazy to actually check.
EXTRAS SET 4:
Extra #19: Pitbull/T-Pain – Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor)
Sent By: Me
Hot 100 Peak: #7
Year-End Rank: #39
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: Unpopular opinion, but I personally think this is better than Give Me Everything, at least musically. I much prefer the production and energy of this song. Sure, I probably prefer Ne-Yo over autotuned T-Pain, but I still quite like his chorus here and there's no denying that this is catchy as hell. Pitbull's verses are kind of short and the majority of the song is the chorus, but I just think the song is a lot of fun.
Extra #20: Nico & Vinz – Am I Wrong
Sent By: Scott Strong
Hot 100 Peak: #4
Year-End Rank: #14
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: This was almost worth including in this rankdown, but I guess it just barely missed. I do like the song a lot although maybe not as much as I used to. But I just think it's cool that this Norwegian duo who came out of nowhere managed to get such a big hit here in the US. They have other great songs as well that should've been hits.
Extra #21: Runaground – Chase You Down
Sent By: We Are My Babies10
Hot 100 Peak: N/A
Year-End Rank: N/A
My Opinion: Good
Blurb: Clearly my original criteria that the submissions should've been charting singles was ignored, but I will roll with it anyway. Once again, I like this song although not as much as I did before. It's catchy, has good production, and I like his voice. I guess it just hasn't held up that well, but it's still an enjoyable listen.
Extra #22: Fitz & The Tantrums – HandClap
Sent By: Pyoris
Hot 100 Peak: #53
Year-End Rank: N/A
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: I enjoy this song quite a bit. I think it's a lot of fun and I'm glad that these guys finally got a mainstream hit on their hands. However, this is far from their best work. What I've heard from their album More Than Just a Dream is far better than this song, so I kind of wish those singles managed to cross over into the mainstream genre. But I guess I'll take what I can get.
Extra #23: Taylor Swift – Style
Sent By: Nick Perkins
Hot 100 Peak: #6
Year-End Rank: #29
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: I had a lot of different feelings about this song back when it was popular. But I've decided that my final thoughts are that I enjoy this song a lot. It's one of the reasons why 1989 is such a good album because it's this bright pop song that sounds almost dreamy at certain points. Her vocal performance here is exceptional and I just love the way the song was put together. It has a great opening with great transitions between the verses and chorus. The bridge sounds really good. Overall, I think this song sets an example for how to make a great pop song.
Extra #24: Cobra Starship/Sabi – You Make Me Feel
Sent By: Lukas
Hot 100 Peak: #7
Year-End Rank: #48
My Opinion: Great
Blurb: I feel like this might've been one of those polarizing songs back in 2011 and I can see why people wouldn't like this. I don't think it's a quality piece of work by any means. But it's a very nostalgic song and I'm a sucker for those. Like I just remember hearing this all the time and it was a lot of fun. That's really all this song is to me, but I love a fun song every now and then. It's catchy and I like the chorus. So yeah, I consider myself a fan.
Feel free to share your thoughts on these songs if you wish. Reveals will continue with #20 hopefully soon.

Just completed a rankdown myself. I should warn you that after tomorrow night's Super Bowl, CBS will be airing a sneak peek of a show called "The World's Best", which I think is an AGT Champions ripoff. Don't believe me? Then please believe this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World's_Best
ReplyDeleteI heard about The World's Best and I might watch it. That show and AGT Champions sound very similar to me, but who knows. I'm still not entirely sure what The World's Best is exactly whereas AGT Champions is pretty straightforward, but I'll probably get a better understanding of it if I try watching it.
DeleteZach, I just went through your submission and you ranked Glad You Came by The Wanted twice and forgot about Payphone by Maroon 5.
DeletePlease put Payphone in the lower slot, please. Also .did you happen to watch The World's Best and do you think it's any different from AGT Champions?
DeleteThere are lots of great songs on this but I don't do rankdowns anymore. Everyone else have fun ranking and discovering whatever songs you will discover!
ReplyDeleteWhy
DeleteBecause as I have come to appreciate more songs and styles of music I find songs harder to rank because I don't have many preferences. I just like most of the songs the same usually, so much that if I just randomized them it wouldn't make a difference.

ReplyDeleteIt's due by the end of the day on the 30th and I still have some people who are interested in sending. I still have to put my list together as well so I'm not too worried about the number of submissions.
DeleteSpeaking Of Rankdowns i have one too. I only have 2 people who sent so Im scared no one will do it tho people are interested. If you do do it thank you so much
