New Entrants
~ Our lone new entrant this week comes from Mr. Jason Derulo. This song has absolutely NO good quality at all. I used to think the saxophone in the chorus of Talk Dirty was annoying. But that's nothing compared to the even weirder instrument in the chorus of Wiggle. This song is absolutely horrible and as of right now, it is a contender for the Bottom 5 Songs Of 2014. (BTW, Snoop Dogg barely contributes anything to the song!).

Blurble, Blurble, Blurble
~ Katy Perry – Birthday is in the Top 10. :D

~ Nico and Vinz – Am I Wrong made a nice jump into the teens while Magic! – Rude made a nice drop out of the teens.

~ Hits 1 must've found their mistake last week with Sam Smith's two songs close to each other. So they tried to fix it by not moving Latch at all, but instead moving La La La to #22. It would've made more sense to boost Latch. La La La has been here for a while now. And this is the highest it's ever been. This countdown just doesn't make sense sometimes.

~ Speaking of this countdown not making sense, Glenn Morrison/Islove – Goodbye debuted in January. It's May and this is the highest it's ever been on the countdown. But I'm not complaining. I enjoy Goodbye being in the Top 10.

~ Imagine Dragons – Radioactive and Imagine Dragons – Demons continue to jump over each other. They both need to leave!

~ Sorry about the lack of blurbs this week. Not that much happened.

~ Check out Lorde's (weird) performance of Tennis Court on the Billboard Music Awards from last Sunday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT047H2ZLbc

My Top 5 Picks
1. Nico and Vinz – Am I Wrong
2. Katy Perry – Birthday
3. OneRepublic – Love Runs Out
4. Neon Trees – Sleeping With A Friend
5. Iggy Azalea/Charli XCX – Fancy

Changing Things Up A Bit

Hey guys. I’m changing things up a bit. I’m moving my Hit 45 Chart to another site! I created a new site on Google, so I will not be using blogger. I’ll give you the link. Apparently, Google sites do not allow public comments. So I tried something else to allow you guys to comment. If you could please visit the site and try commenting on it, that would be great. I’m still reviewing the Sirius XM Hits 1 Weekend Countdown on this blog. I’m just not gonna do my Top 45 Chart on this blog anymore. So please visit the site.

Jason Derulo (1) – Week Of May 17, 2014

Jason Derulo – Talk Dirty climbs to #1 for the first time on this countdown. We had a heck of a week this week. Before we get to this week’s Fresh 45, here are the songs we’re saying goodbye to this week.

  • Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up) (#31) (!!!)*
  • Midnight Red – Hell Yeah (#43)
  • Hardwell/Matthew Koma – Dare You (#44)

*This song debuted on February 9, 2013. It made a record for a song with the longest title ever. This band has had other long titles. This song slowly made it’s way to the top of the countdown. It was at #1 for six non-consecutive weeks (Olly Murs – Troublemaker and P!nk/Nate Ruess – Just Give Me A Reason were the interrupters). Pretty soon I got tired of it and Hits 1 threw it to #30. But then it made a big jump back into the Top 5. It made many big jumps and drops. But this super long tenure of 1 year and 3 months is what will really be remembered. This record may never be broken again! Spyder Harrison recognized it as “The song that won’t go away”. But it had to go away eventually. Every now and then, I dedicated some of my blurb space to describe how this song was still here. Goodbye Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up), you will (not) be missed.

Last Week’s #1 Song: Bastille – Pompeii
The Countdown

38. MKTO – Classic (#36)
37. Haim – The Wire (#42)
36. Lady Gaga – G.U.Y. (#28)
35. Passenger – Let Her Go (#29)
34. Pharrell Williams – Happy (#17)
33. AJR – I’m Ready (#45)
32. Disclosure/Sam Smith – Latch (#41)

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: OneRepublic – Counting Stars (–21)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Imagine Dragons – Radioactive (+15)

New Entrants
~ Apparently, this countdown needs to have Fall Out Boy in it as we got an unexpected, but welcome re-entry from Fall Out Boy – Alone Together. Stay as long as you like.

~ From the department of unwelcome re-entrants, we have Zedd/Hayley Williams – Stay The Night

~ Bleachers – I Wanna Get Better is interesting, but that's all I can really say about it.

Let's Blurb Alone Together
~ This is the first time since December 14, 2013 that OneRepublic – Counting Stars is not in the Top 10. Talk about a long run at that.

~ John Legend/Tiesto – All Of Me is in the Top 3.

~ 5 Seconds Of Summer – She Looks So Perfect, Glenn Morrison/Islove – Goodbye, Neon Trees – Sleeping With A Friend, and Ed Sheeran – Sing all entered the Top 10 this week.

~ Hits 1 seems to be following my opinion on Travie McCoy/Brendon Urie – Keep On Keeping On and Pharrell – Happy.

~ Demi Lovato – Neon Lights took a quick drop to the Bottom 5.

~ Tiesto – Red Lights is now on Hit-Bound.

~ I can't decide the worst song on Hit-Bound between Fall Out Boy – Young Volcanoes and Jason Derulo/Snoop Dogg – Wiggle. Both are absolutely horrible.

~ Hit-Bound isn't very exciting. Sam Smith – Stay With Me, Tiesto – Red Lights, and Timeflies – All The Way are pretty much the best songs.

My Top 5 Picks
1. Nico and Vinz – Am I Wrong
2. One Direction – You and I
3. OneRepublic – Love Runs Out
4. DJ Cassidy/Robin Thicke/Jessie J – Calling All Hearts
5. Lady Gaga – G.U.Y.
