Biggest Jump Of The Week: Little Mix – Black Magic (+32)

New Entrants
~ We have one re-entry from Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean?. So only one new entrant this week.

~ At the ridiculously high #14, we have Adele – Hello. I did love this song last week. But over the course of the week, I did lose some interest in it. It got kind of boring in my opinion. Although it is still in green, it could turn to blue some time soon.

Hit-Bound
~ Empire Cast – No Doubt About It appears to have left after one week on Hit-Bound.

~ By no surprise, Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together and George Ezra – Blame It On Me left Hit-Bound as well.

~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Audien/Lady Antebellum – Something Better
  • Jacob Whitesides – Secrets
  • DNCE – Cake By The Ocean
  • Drake – Hotline Bling
  • Ariana Grande – Focus
  • Sam Hunt – House Party
  • Justin Bieber – Sorry
  • Tove Lo – Moments
  • Rachel Platten – Stand By You
  • Flo Rida – My House
  • Charlie Puth – One Call Away
  • MØ – Kamikaze
  • Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
  • ZZ Ward – Love 3X
  • Conrad Sewell – Hold Me Up

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Audien/Lady Antebellum – Something Better
2. Conrad Sewell – Hold Me Up
3. DNCE – Cake By The Ocean
4. Rachel Platten – Stand By You
5. Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me

Hotline Blurb
~ Hailee Steinfeld – Love Myself made a ridiculous jump this week all the way to #13. I'm really starting to get over this song. Hopefully, it'll drop again next week.

~ Why did Adam Lambert – Ghost Town drop on Halloween? It's the perfect Halloween jam from this year.

~ This is the first time in what seems like forever where the entire Top 5 is in green. Things are starting to look better around here. We're slowly exiting the Dark Age of the countdown.

~ Last week's debuts didn't really jump that much this week. Irresistible seems to be the only one to jump 10+ spots while Hey Everybody! jumped 5 spots. Perfect, Here, and Hula Hoop all rose only one spot while Confident and Like I'm Gonna Lose You actually dropped a couple of spots.

~ Shy Carter – Bring It Back isn't really doing much on here besides jumping and dropping from the 20's to the 30's and then back to the 20's.

~ Andy Grammer – Good To Be Alive is already back down in the 30's. That was pretty short.

~ You'd think Nico & Vinz – That's How You Know would've left by now. Clearly not.

~ Pentatonix – Can't Sleep Love dropping to #32 makes me sooooo happy!!!

~ Panic! At The Disco – Victorious rising into the Top 20 makes me sooooo happy!!!

~ We must now celebrate as Tove Lo – Talking Body has left the countdown!

~ Congrats to One Direction as they have achieved their second ever #1 song following What Makes You Beautiful with Drag Me Down!

~ I am indeed still working on the 500,000 pageview special. With school and everything, it is very hard to get stuff like this done. So you guys are gonna have to wait just a little bit longer.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Will X Ambassadors – Renegades hold at #1 for a fourth week in a row and sixth time overall? You'll have to hang on to find out!

~ Throwback Pick Of The Week: Maroon 5/Rihanna – If I Never See Your Face Again

My Top 5 Picks
1. X Ambassadors – Renegades
2. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
3. Panic! At The Disco – Victorious

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Tie Between Little Mix – Black Magic and Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman (–26)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie Between Maroon 5 – Feelings and Selena Gomez – Same Old Love (+21)

New Entrants
~ Kicking if off with the artist to have two songs debuting on the countdown, Demi Lovato. The first is Confident. It's catchy and all, but doesn't quite hit the height of Cool For The Summer for me. Some of the songs from her previous album like Heart Attack and Made In The USA were better than this one. But it is good. The next is her featured spot in Fall Out Boy's new single,Irresistible. This one is really catchy. Demi Lovato's voice is a powerhouse in that chorus! I love it! It'll probably take me a little while longer to get sick of this song than it did for Centuries and Uma Thurman just because of Demi Lovato. Awesome song. Best debut of the week.

~ 5 Seconds Of Summer – Hey Everybody! sounds a lot like Duran Duran – Hungry Like The Wolf, mainly in the verses though. Overall, it's pretty mediocre. Nothing really special about it. I feel like 5 Seconds Of Summer are slowly getting worse, similar to Selena Gomez. These guys have definitely done better. But this song is just a countdown filler.

~ Long-time Hit-Bound veteran, Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You debuted just a little too high. I've completely grown out of this song and it's become quite annoying. You'd think John Legend would help make this song better. But in reality, his verse doesn't do much for me at all. Meghan Trainor's best will probably always be Dear Future Husband. I hope this song doesn't stay for very long. Though I will say this song is better than the absolutely horrific All About That Bass.

~ I'll admit that with repeated listens, I did somewhat grow into Omi – Hula Hoop. Though I'll probably hate it in a few months, for now it's good. Not great, but good. The chorus is kind of catchy. But I still don't think Omi's autotuned voice is really that good, but it's okay in this song.

~ Next up we have the song with a similar-sounding chorus from Taylor Swift – Style. That song is One Direction – Perfect. The title of this song basically describes the overall song. There's not much else to say about it.

~ Finally, we have another long-time Hit-Bound veteran, Alessia Cara – Here. I always thought this was a very interesting song. It's not one of your upbeat pop songs like anything from Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, One Direction, etc. It has more of that dark sound to it if that makes any sense. She has a nice voice. I really like the chorus of this song. This song meets my expectations pretty well, almost exceeding, but not quite there.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Empire Cast – No Doubt About It
  • Becky G – Break A Sweat
  • Tove Lo – Moments
  • Justin Bieber – Sorry
  • DNCE – Cake By The Ocean
  • George Ezra – Blame It On Me
  • Audien/Lady Antebellum – Something Better
  • Rachel Platten – Stand By You
  • Adele – Hello
  • Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together
  • Sam Hunt – House Party
  • Charlie Puth – One Call Away
  • ZZ Ward – Love 3X
  • Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
  • Pitbull/Jason Derulo/Juicy J – Drive You Crazy

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. TIE: Justin Bieber – Sorry
1. TIE: Adele – Hello
3. Audien/Lady Antebellum – Something Better
4. Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
5. Rachel Platten – Stand By You

Blurb A Sweat
~ The Weeknd – The Hills should not be dropping and Can't Feel My Face should not be jumping. Swap those two songs and I'll be happy.

~ Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me needs to move down. It shouldn't still be all the way at #22.

~ I don't understand how Jess Glynne – Hold My Hand survived a 7-exit week.

~ I didn't necessarily think Elle King – Ex's and Oh's would be a Top 10 song. To be honest, I didn't think it would get this far at all.

~ Our Top 10 is really starting to get better. I think this is the first time in a while where our Top 3 was looking really good. I honestly don't mind which of these three songs is our #1 song.

~ Walk The Moon – Different Colors is moving rather slowly for a song from a band who spent 12 weeks at #1 recently.

~ The drop from Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman definitely made me really happy. Let's get it off the countdown as soon as possible.

~ Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud should not still be here. Who the hell is still voting for this?

~ This upcoming week at my school is Red Ribbon Week. Basically, I'm just going to say that if you do start doing drugs, you will become addicted and it's very hard to fight off an addiction. Just don't do drugs is what I'm getting at.

~ Most Missed Countdown Song: P!nk – Blow Me (One Last Kiss)

My Top 5 Picks
1. X Ambassadors – Renegades
2. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
3. Panic! At The Disco – Victorious
4. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town
5. Alessia Cara – Here

My Bottom 5 Picks
1. Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman
2. Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud
3. Twenty One Pilots – Tear In My Heart
4. Pentatonix – Can't Sleep Love
5. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Downtown

Shawn Mendes (2) – Week Of October 17, 2015

Demi Lovato hosted the countdown and Hit-Bound again within the same year this week. This time, it was to promote her new album, Confident, which I haven't listened to yet. But I'm sure it's pretty good. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

  • Los 5 – Manana (#33) [x2]

  2. One Direction – Drag Me Down (#3)
  1. Shawn Mendes – Stitches (#1) [2nd Week At #1]

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Demi Lovato – Cool For The Summer (–20)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Hozier – Someone New (+18)

New Entrants
~ First up we have Selena Gomez who has failed to impress me with her new album, Revival. This week, she brings us Same Old Love featuring Charli XCX, who actually co-wrote the song. The song overall is not really any better than Good For You. I really liked her album, Stars Dance, which featured two of her best songs, Come & Get It and Slow Down. But unfortunately, this girl is slowly going downhill with her music.

~ Andy Grammer's new single, Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah), doesn't impress me that much either. It's definitely better than Same Old Love. There are some parts that are catchy. But at the same time, there are parts that are annoying. Songs like Back Home from his album, Magazines Or Novels, are what made him look good in my book. Even Keep Your Head Up and Fine By Me from his debut self-titled album were pretty good. I'm sure Good To Be Alive will grow on me with repeated listens. But for now, it's nothing more than a countdown filler.

Hit-Bound
~ I'm really annoyed by the fact that Icona Pop – Emergency is still on Hit-Bound. This song is annoying as hell. I already know it's not going to make it to the countdown. But I'm still annoyed that it's taking up space during this one-hour show that could be given to a song more deserving of it.

~ Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together left American Top 40 this week. So I'm pretty sure it won't make the Weekend Countdown, unfortunately.

~ Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You is really high on the iTunes charts at the moment. So there's a good chance it's going to debut the countdown soon.

~ I honestly forgot Pitbull/Jason Derulo/Juicy J – Drive You Crazy is on Hit-Bound.

~ Alessia Cara – Here has been on Hit-Bound for a while now. I honestly don't know what its fate will be. We'll have to wait and see.

~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Pharrell – Freedom
  • Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
  • Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You
  • Omi – Hula Hoop
  • Pitbull/Jason Derulo/Juicy J – Drive You Crazy
  • Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
  • Becky G – Break A Sweat
  • Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together
  • George Ezra – Blame It On Me
  • Icona Pop – Emergency
  • Rachel Platten – Stand By You
  • Demi Lovato – Confident
  • 5 Seconds Of Summer – Hey Everybody!
  • Alessia Cara – Here
  • ZZ Ward – Love 3X

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
2. Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
3. Becky G – Break A Sweat
4. Rachel Platten – Stand By You
5. Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together

Blurbelujah
~ Ellie Goulding – On My Mind made the jump into the Top 10 way sooner than I had expected. But hey, the sooner, the better right?

~ Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean? is not really doing anything on this countdown. I can't remember the last Justin Bieber song that hit the Top 10 on this countdown. This song doesn't seem to be blowing up here as much as everywhere else.

~ Los 5 – Manana has now left us for the second time by yet another guest host. There are honestly times when I think this catchy, and then other times I think it's annoying.

~ My mother is a pretty big fan of Pentatonix. Earlier this week, she heard Can't Sleep Love for the first time and didn't like it for the exact same reason I don't like it. What was that reason again? Oh yeah. IT'S BORING!!! Now even I'll admit, not everything they do is garbage. They released their self-titled album not long ago and I'm really liking their cover of Major Lazer/DJ Snake/MO – Lean On. You should take a listen to it.

~ Echosmith – Let's Love is such a space filler. It'll probably be gone within the next few weeks.

~ Phoebe Ryan – Mine will probably be on its way out as well. I keep forgetting that it's still here.

~ Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth – See You Again and Taylor Swift – Bad Blood are both extremely old. Having them leave soon before I hate them would be nice.

~ One Direction haven't had a song to peak all the way at #2 in quite a while. Maybe I was wrong about this just being another One Direction song. Maybe it will hit #1.

~ Talking Body and Want To Want Me should not be moving up. They should both be gone by now.

YouTube15
~ Once again, I do think Jenna Marbles is pretty funny. But then again, I laugh at pretty much anything. So yeah.

~ There's been a lot of talk about DNCE – Cake By The Ocean. Overall, it's a catchy song. But it's not something I see myself coming back to. It's nice to Joe Jonas back in the singing career. But this song isn't really that much to me. It's only above average.

~ I don't think Robin Schulz/Jasmine Thompson – Sun Goes Down is that far away from lasting a year on the YouTube15. Seriously, Robin Schulz was able to get a new album out in the time this song was (and still is) trending.

~ Here is the YouTube15 list:

  • Dawin – Dessert
  • Sigala – Easy Love
  • Skylar Grey/X Ambassadors – Cannonball
  • The Vamps – Wake Up
  • Kehlani/Coucheron – Alive

2. Disclosure/Lorde – Magnets
3. Prince Royce/Jennifer Lopez/Pitbull – Back It Up
4. Robin Schulz/Jasmine Thompson – Sun Goes Down
5. Pia Mia/Chris Brown/Tyga – Do It Again

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Will X Ambassadors – Renegades hold at #1 for a second week in a row and fourth time overall? You'll have to hang on to find out!

~ Most Missed Song(s): Ke$ha – TiK ToK / We R Who We R

1. TIE: Panic! At The Disco – Victorious
3. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Taylor Swift – Shake It Off

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Pentatonix – Can't Sleep Love (+17) (ugh)

New Entrants
~ Remember the smash hit from earlier this year, Take Me To Church, the song that I hated at first and then ended up loving. It's been almost a year since that song debuted on this countdown. Well the artist, Hozier, is back with his new single, Someone New. Is it as good as Take Me To Church? No. It's also not as good as Angel Of Small Death & The Codeine Scene, which was never actually on this countdown. But it is good.

~ Long-time Hit-Bound veteran, Maroon 5 – Feelings has debuted the countdown this week replacing Sugar at #44. I am still growing out of this song. It's gotten a little annoying within the past month. I don't want to hate it, but I don't love it either. So yeah.

~ Panic! At The Disco's music never really grabs my attention. However, their new single, Victorious, definitely grabbed my attention. I don't think I've ever said this, but I do love Brendon Urie's voice. Miss Jackson from 2013 (I think) was a pretty good song from this band and this new single may possibly reach that height. Overall, I'm really loving it. Best debut of the week.

~ Walk The Moon now have a second song on the countdown, Different Colors. This is, in my opinion, better than Shut Up and Dance. It's catchy. I don't really have that much else to say about it.

Hit-Bound
~ We have so much bad music on Hit-Bound. That's all I have to say.

~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Alessia Cara – Here
  • 5 Seconds Of Summer – Hey Everybody!
  • Andy Grammer – Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)
  • Pitbull/Jason Derulo/Juicy J – Drive You Crazy
  • Selena Gomez – Same Old Love
  • Rachel Platten – Stand By You
  • Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together
  • Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You
  • Becky G – Break A Sweat
  • Pharrell – Freedom
  • George Ezra – Blame It On Me
  • Omi – Hula Hoop
  • Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
  • ZZ Ward – Love 3X
  • Icona Pop – Emergency

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
2. Becky G – Break A Sweat
3. Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together
4. Alessia Cara – Here
5. Rachel Platten – Stand By You

Tonight We Are Blurbtorious
~ X Ambassadors – Renegades in the Top 10 makes me very happy.

~ Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Downtown in the Top 10 makes me very mad.

~ One Direction – Drag Me Down is at #3. They haven't had a #1 song since What Makes You Beautiful. I doubt this will hit #1, but it would be nice if it did.

~ Twenty One Pilots – Tear In My Heart needs to start moving down. This is ridiculous that it's hitting new peaks.

~ In other ridiculous news, Pentatonix – Can't Sleep Love had the Biggest Jump Of The Week. I'm very annoyed by this. I can tell Hits 1 is in love with this song and when they're in love with a song, they will not let it go.

~ R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away is now in the Top 5. This song does have the capability of hitting #1. It's just not showing it. I would love to see this as #1 for at least one week.

~ Yes, I have indeed grown into Daya – Hide Away. I guess it's somewhat catchy. I'll give it that.

~ Elle King – Ex's & Oh's is rising rather quickly as it's already at #11. I do like this song so I would be happy if it enters Top 10 and replaces a certain song. *cough* Tear In My Heart *cough*

~ Shy Carter – Bring It Back made a nice comeback.

~ Goodbye Tori Kelly – Should've Been Us. You will be missed.

~ Good riddance to Selena Gomez – Good For You and Maroon 5 – Sugar, especially the latter of the two. Sugar was atrocious from the very beginning. I'm so glad it's gone. That was absolute trash right there.

~ Hard to believe Thinking Out Loud is still on the countdown. Get out now!

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Robert DeLong can hold at #1 for a second week in a row and a third time overall.

~ Congrats to my bae, Shawn Mendes, as he achieves his first #1 song this week. Awesome job man! Let's hope it can stay here for multiple weeks.

Walk The Moon (12) – Week Of October 3, 2015

Happy first week of October everyone! What's that? No one cares? Ok then. Anyway Shut Up and Dance is officially tied for most weeks at #1 with Taylor Swift – Shake It Off with 12 weeks. I kind of don't want it to spend any more weeks at the top spot but I already know it's destined to. There's not much I can do about it. Thankfully, as of right now, I don't hate it as much as I did a few weeks ago. But I am tired of having to find new AND good thumbnails of them on Google Images. Like I legimately don't know if I used this one already. No songs leaving the countdown this week. So let's get right to it.

What Do You Blurb?
~ Nice to see Want To Want Me and Talking Body drop. This countdown was (and kind of still is) in desperate need of out-with-the-old-and-in-with-the-new.

~ Shy Carter – Bring It Back was kind of destined to fall back down eventually. This was a little sooner than expected though.

~ It's nice to see X Ambassadors – Renegades getting some love on this countdown. Let's get into the Top 10 if that's possible.

~ Pentatonix – Can't Sleep Love needs to keep dropping. It really is annoying and I just can't stand this song or the band.

~ Los 5 – Manana is lasting longer than it did on its first run on the countdown. This is very rare and it just had to be acknowledged.

~ Tori Kelly – Should've Been Us and All Time Low – Something's Gotta Give are really holding on strong. Let's go guys! We can get a few more weeks in!

~ Maroon 5 – Sugar needs to LEAVE!!!! I can't stand it! This is seriously Maroon 5's worst song ever and I've been a fan of them since Songs About Jane. All their music has been at least okay up until this song shitty song. I seriously never thought I would hate a Maroon 5 song this much.

~ I can tell you right now that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Downtown will soon be a pain in the ass if it reaches Top 10 and never leaves.

~ Robert DeLong – Long Way Down has been airing on The Pulse as Pulse-ating New Music. Seriously guys? I mean I still like the song. But not as much as I did in January.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Walk The Moon – Different Colors will hold at #1. Also we have debuts from X Ambassadors, Major Lazer, Chris Brown, Rita Ora, and more!

~ I'm currently working on the 500,000 pageview milestone post. I'll try to have it for you guys sometime tomorrow. Like I said before, patience is key here.

~ Most Missed Countdown Song: X Ambassadors/Jamie N Commons – Jungle

~ #1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Major Lazer/Ellie Goulding/Tarrus Riley – Powerful

~ Notice how only one song in my Top 5 Picks has changed this week from last week.

2. Little Mix – Black Magic
3. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town
4. The Weeknd – The Hills
5. Nico & Vinz/Bebe Rexha – That's How You Know
