Question #1: Have you met any celebrities?
Answer: No, I have not. The closest I've gotten to meeting a celebrity is seeing them in concert.
Question #2: What are some places you have visited in the United States?
Answer: My family and I often go to Wisconsin, which, since we live in Illinois, is right up above us. But we've also been to Michigan a couple of times. We went to Pensacola Beach in Florida for about a week. We spent one night in Nashville, Tennessee. We have also spent about a week in Washington D.C. Although I wasn't a part of these, my dad spent some time in Las Vegas and my parents went to New Orleans last year for their anniversary.
Question #3: On a scale of 1-10 how much do you love doorknobs?
Answer: 8
Question #4: How's life?
Answer: It's really good. Thanks for asking. :)
Question #5: Is Matthew your only sibling?
Answer: Yes, he is.
Question #6: Are you sleepy?
Answer: Not really. I may be sleepy in the morning, but by afternoon I am wide awake.
Question #7: Can you guess who is typing this?
Answer: No. :P
Question #8: Do you have any hobbies/habits that are not music-related?
Answer: It's questions like this one that make me realize how boring my life is. Typically, the most non-music-related thing I do is hang out with my friends, which I always have a really fun time doing.
Question #9: If you were to take a sport, what would it be?
Answer: If I had to pick a sport, I'd probably pick soccer. I feel like that is the sport that I try the hardest in in P.E.
Question #10: Are you in puberty and do you have armpit hair?
Answer: I have already gone through puberty. The most drastic thing that came out of it is that my voice is now really deep. I never even noticed until my friends pointed it out and said that I had the deepest voice out of our group of friends. And yes, I do have armpit hair, as strange of a question as that is.
Question #12: Who's your favorite member of One Direction?
Answer: Louis Tomlinson. I personally think he has the best voice in the band. I also think he's the hottest.
Question #13: Do you want to have a 7 exit week next week (07/09/16)?
Answer: Technically, that week already past. But I honestly don't really care at this point how many exits we have. 7 exits certainly makes the countdown interesting, but if it's just 1 exit, I won't really care.
Question #14: Alesso/Nico & Vinz – I Wanna Know or Mike Posner – I Took A Pill In Ibiza?
Answer: I like both songs, but I Took A Pill In Ibiza for sure.
Question #15: All About That Bass or Kamikaze?
Answer: Gross! Honestly why would you even pair these two? It's like a match made from hell. I guess Kamikaze is better by a very very very little bit.
Question #16: Listen to Eric Prydz – Every Day and tell me what you think of it. :)
Answer: I'd say it's pretty catchy. It has a really nice drop in it and I could totally see myself jamming out to it. Let me say this: The track is over 7 minutes long and I'd say I was captivated throughout just about all of those 7 minutes.
Question #17: Have you listened to Views by Drake? Especially Weston Road Flows. That's mah fav!!!
Answer: I never actually listened to the whole album. There were a few tracks here and there that I listened to. For the most part, none of them were anything special. I just listened to Weston Road Flows and I'm personally not a huge fan of it just because I think Drake is honestly a better singer than he is a rapper.
Question #18: Can you give me your opinion on Honeymoon by Lana Del Rey?
Answer: Now this album I actually did listen to (at least most of it) and I honestly don't know why I did. The lead single, High By The Beach, was very uninteresting due to the fact that it was extremely boring. Then I listened to the album and found that every track sounds very similar. If you want me to be honest here, it sounds as though Lana Del Rey recorded this album only half-awake. It's a pretty boring album that the only thing it's capable of doing is putting me to sleep. I understand that she has a target audience that really enjoy her music and probably love this album, but I just don't go for this kind of music. Lana Del Rey's music never really caught my attention and this album is no different.
Question #19: What's so bad about hip-hop/rap? Who are your favorite and least favorite hip-hop/rap artists of all time?
Answer: I personally believe that rap music has gone downhill over the years. Honestly, hip-hop/rap was one of my favorite genres back when we had Eminem, B.o.B, Timbaland, etc. But nowadays, rappers think it's cool to be rapping about girls, money, and drugs with an extremely lazy production team. Fetty Wap was one of the worst new additions to the industry ever making his first appearance last year with the rather obnoxious Trap Queen. I'd probably say he is my least favorite rapper just because not only his voice irritating to me, but his song are just pointless. There's no real meaning to them and they sound awful. Eminem is probably my favorite rapper just because his music actually has meaning to it. His song Love The Way You Lie is like my favorite song of all time. He has a bunch of other really meaningful songs as well as songs that are actually pretty fun.
Question #20: You are in a prison and the guard gives you a choice of 4 songs that will be put on replay for 2 hours. Options:
- Selena Gomez – Same Old Love
- MØ – Kamikaze
- Magic! – Rude
- Fetty Wap – Trap Queen
Which one would you choose?
Answer: I'd probably die from listening to any of these songs on repeat for two hours if I'm being honest here. I'll right away say no to Kamikaze and Trap Queen just because I legit cannot listen to either of those songs once. I can't stand Same Old Love, so it will probably end up being Rude.
Question #21: Marry, f**k, kill: Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Justin Bieber.
Answer: I've only done a few games like this one and I have to say, they really make you think. Basically how a marry, f**k, kill works is I've been given three people and I have to pick one who I'd marry and spend my life with, one who I would have sex with for one night, and one I'd just get rid of. I'd probably "kill" Zayn Malik. Of course I would not do that in real life. But for the purposes of this game, Zayn Malik is under "kill". After thinking about these other two for a long time, I think I would "marry" Louis Tomlinson just because he seems like a sweetheart, which means I would "f**k" Justin Bieber, which I would totally want to do. ;)
Question #22: Please list these songs from best to worst:
- Andy Grammer – Good To Be Alive
- Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
- Lukas Graham – 7 Years
- Flo Rida – Good Feeling
Answer:
1. Flo Rida – Good Feeling (best)
1. Flo Rida – Good Feeling (best)
2. Lukas Graham – 7 Years
3. Andy Grammer – Good To Be Alive
4. Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance (worst)
3. Andy Grammer – Good To Be Alive
4. Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance (worst)
Question #23: You said on your 600K special that you aren't much into video games anymore, but were you or your brother ever into Pokemon?
Answer: No. I've tried getting into Pokemon, but I just can't. I just don't understand it. Same for my brother. But that's just our opinions.
Question #24: What are you interested in studying in college?
Answer: That's a really good question. I don't know. There are those people who already know what they want to do with their life. Then there's people like me who have no clue what they want to do. I feel like going into teaching is not a bad idea, so I'm considering it. But I don't know for sure yet.
Question #25: List these songs from greatest to most trash:
Answer: That's a really good question. I don't know. There are those people who already know what they want to do with their life. Then there's people like me who have no clue what they want to do. I feel like going into teaching is not a bad idea, so I'm considering it. But I don't know for sure yet.
Question #25: List these songs from greatest to most trash:
- MØ – Kamikaze
- Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman
- Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass
Answer:
1. Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman (least trash)
2. MØ – Kamikaze
3. Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass (most trash)
Question #26: Have you heard any new songs right now? (If you did, tell me some)
Answer: All the new songs I've heard are songs that I'm sure everyone who goes on iTunes would know. For example, one new song is Don't Wanna Know by Maroon 5 featuring Kendrick Lamar, which is like #2 on iTunes at the moment. But the best new song in my opinion is All Time Low by Jon Bellion, which is pretty new to radio. I listened to his debut album that was released earlier this year, The Human Condition, and frankly, I think it's amazing. That would be my album recommendation for you if you haven't listened to it yet.
Question #27: What do you do with your free time?
Answer: With school and senior year, I really don't have much free time. But when I do have free time, I like to just relax after all the work I've done. But I also try to blog and catch up on whatever I'm behind on whenever I have free time.
Question #28: Which one is the worst out of the 5?
- Twenty One Pilots – Ride
- Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Downtown
- Adele – When We Were Young
- Charlie Puth – One Call Away
- Silento – Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)
Answer: It's between Downtown and Watch Me right now. I hate both songs with a passion. But if I had to pick the worst of the two, it would probably be Watch Me, being one of the most annoying songs of last year.
Question #29: If you had to grade the following 3, what order would you put them in?
- P!nk – Just Like Fire
- David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Bebe Rexha/Afrojack – Hey Mama
- Coldplay/Beyoncé – Hymn For The Weekend
Answer:
1. Coldplay/Beyoncé – Hymn For The Weekend (best)
2. David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack – Hey Mama
3. P!nk – Just Like Fire
Question #30: Rank these songs, all of which lasted at least a year on the countdown:
- Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)
- Imagine Dragons – Radioactive
- Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud
- Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
Answer:
1. Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark
2. Imagine Dragons – Radioactive
3. Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
4. Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud
Question #31: What is your opinion on the following songs?
- Daya – Thirsty
- Elle King – Ex's & Oh's
- Lukas Graham – Mama Said
- Jacob Whitesides – Lovesick
- Twenty One Pilots – We Don't Believe What's On TV
- MØ – Final Song
Answer:
Thirsty: While Daya has a really good and unique voice, this song isn't really anything special. Maybe I just haven't listened to it enough. I like it, but I don't love it.
Ex's & Oh's: I enjoyed this song for quite a while. Elle King is one of those artists who, while being an alternative/rock artist, incorporates some folk in there as well. It shows on other songs more than it does on this one. But overall, I do like this song. I'm not necessarily sure it'll show up on my Top 45 songs of 2016, but I'll think about it.
Mama Said: Easily a step-down from 7 Years. The song overall is mediocre at best. The kids singing in the chorus just makes the song even worse in my eyes. I'm not feeling the vocal work done, especially in the last chorus. While 7 Years was a hit in my opinion, Mama Said is a definite miss.
Lovesick: Like Daya, this guy does have a very unique and interesting voice. I like the production on the track and like I said in my entrant review, that chorus may be something that gets stuck in my head.
We Don't Believe What's On TV: I'm not a huge fan of Twenty One Pilots and I'm not really loving this song. It's okay. But there are definitely some better songs on that album. This one just does nothing for me.
Final Song: I have to say, I'm not a fan of her as a solo artist. This song isn't necessarily bad, but I feel the production needs some more work. Also, there are parts in the song where I don't really like her voice. But for the most part, it sounds decent-ish. It's certainly better than Kamikaze, but it's not as good as her collaborations with Major Lazer.
Question #32: All of the following songs are ones that were heavily overplayed by Hits 1. Rank them as either still great (no problem at all with listening to them again and would still seek out now), good/okay (a decent listen every now and then), meh (don’t care for them anymore but it wouldn’t be disastrous if you had to hear them again), bad (an undesirable listen but you wouldn’t completely rule out liking them again someday), or irredeemable (no chance of them ever growing back on you).
- Imagine Dragons – Radioactive
- Pitbull/Ke$ha – Timber
- OneRepublic – Counting Stars
- Taylor Swift – Shake It Off
- Taylor Swift – Blank Space
- Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk
- Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
- Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth – See You Again
- Adele – Hello
Answer:
Radioactive: I did grow back into this one. Overplay kind of scarred it like it did with most of these songs. I would say it's good/okay to listen to every now and then.
Timber: Same thing applies here. It's good/okay to listen to every now and then.
Counting Stars: Same as the last two.
Shake It Off: Not so sure about this one. I really liked this one when it was popular. But after hearing all these other singles from 1989, this one doesn't sound that interesting anymore. I may have to say this one is a "meh". I don't really care for it too much anymore, but I can still listen to it.
Blank Space: This one, however, is a different story. This one is definitely still great with no problem at all listening to it because I don't think I ever got sick of it. It's just so catchy.
Uptown Funk: Radio overplay scarred this song pretty bad. This is for sure one of the most overrated songs, if not the most overrated song, of 2015. Unfortunately to this day if this song comes on the radio, I will indeed change the station even if I don't know anything else that's on. I'm going to have to categorize it under "bad" as it is still an undesirable listen, but it's possible I may give into it sometime in the future.
Shut Up and Dance: This one is pretty much the same thing as Uptown Funk. The 12 weeks at #1 on Hits 1 was rather unnecessary and all it did was make a pretty good song overrated. This one is still an undesirable listen, so I'm going to say "bad".
See You Again: Although this one was pretty overplayed, I actually do like it again. I absolutely loved it when it came out, so I knew I would come back around to it eventually. And I did. I'd say it's good/okay to listen to every now and then.
Hello: This one was a lot more recent, so it's going to be a longer while until I grow back into it fully. But for now, I do like this song again. Like See You Again, it was amazing when it came out. I'd say it's good/okay to listen to every now and then.
Question #33: Rank the following songs:
Shut Up and Dance: This one is pretty much the same thing as Uptown Funk. The 12 weeks at #1 on Hits 1 was rather unnecessary and all it did was make a pretty good song overrated. This one is still an undesirable listen, so I'm going to say "bad".

Question #33: Rank the following songs:
- SonReal – Can I Get A Witness
- Simple Plan – Singing In The Rain
- Big Gigantic/Angela McCluskey – The Little Things
- Hedley – Lose Control
- Twenty One Pilots – Heathens
Answer:
1. Big Gigantic/Angela McCluskey – The Little Things (the best)
2. Hedley – Lose Control
2. Hedley – Lose Control
3. Twenty One Pilots – Heathens
4. Simple Plan – Singing In The Rain
5. SonReal – Can I Get A Witness
Question #34: For fun, rate these songs from best to worst:
- Adele – Hello
- Eden XO – The Weekend
- Coldplay/Beyoncé – Hymn For The Weekend
- Priory – Weekend
- Maroon 5 – Sugar
- Robin Schulz/Francesco Yates – Sugar
- Maroon 5 – Animals
- Martin Garrix – Animals
- Glenn Morrison – Goodbye
Answer: First off, I love how you started with Hello and ended with Goodbye. And I see how you attempted to match the titles.
1. Coldplay/Beyoncé – Hymn For The Weekend (the best)
2. Maroon 5 – Animals
3. Glenn Morrison – Goodbye
4. Robin Schulz/Francesco Yates – Sugar
5. Martin Garrix – Animals
6. Adele – Hello
7. Eden XO – The Weekend
8. Priory – Weekend
9. Maroon 5 – Sugar
Question #35: What's the best week of 2016 so far? Worst week?
Answer: I have no idea. I'm sorry, but I am indeed way too lazy to look back at every single week this year to pick the best and worst.
Question #36: What are your favorite and least favorite songs of the year so far?
Answer: Some of my favorites right now include Hymn For The Weekend by Coldplay, I Took A Pill In Ibiza by Mike Posner, Just Like Fire by P!nk, Something In The Way You Move by Ellie Goulding, Jet Black Heart by 5 Seconds Of Summer, and more that I won't get into now. Some of my least favorites include Panda by Desiigner (which I consider the worst song of the year hands-down), Sweatshirt by Jacob Sartorious, Kamikaze by MØ, Don't Mind by Kent Jones, Mama Said by Lukas Graham, and more that I won't get into now. But that's a basic understanding of some of the songs I've enjoyed this year and some of the songs I find to be utter trash.
Question #37: What are the best and worst songs of 2016 so far?
Answer: Please look right above.
Question #38: Rank the years of this decade so far (2010-2016 as is) in your order for mainstream music (between both Hits 1 and Billboard).
Answer: I really didn't think too much about this. Maybe these rankings will be different if I actually put some more thought into it.
7. 2015
6. 2016
5. 2014
4. 2013
3. 2011
2. 2010

Question #39: What are your Top 10 favorite artists/bands of all-time?
Answer: Again, like Question #38, I really did not put much thought into this. I rushed it for the sake of getting this post out. So you can consider this a rough draft of the list.
10. Taylor Swift
9. David Guetta
8. Green Day
7. Linkin Park
6. Ke$ha
5. Eminem
4. OneRepublic
3. Maroon 5
2. Nickelback

So that was the 800K pageview special! Once again, I apologize for the extremely long delay. I want you guys to know that I love doing these special posts for you guys. I feel like a blog with just countdown posts every week would be pretty boring after a while, which is why I love doing these milestone posts and other specials like the series of America's Got Talent reviews and the Top 10 Songs Series. But it is hard to work on this kind of stuff with my busy schedule. So I ask that you guys bear with me because I do try my hardest to get this stuff out for you. Thinking realistically, the 900K special may not be out until next month, but I am trying and using my free time to work on these posts. But thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

Nice post, Adrian!
ReplyDeleteI asked the one about Every Day :D
ReplyDeleteI asked #5, #9, #13, #15, and #28.
DeleteI thought I asked #15!
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteActually, I asked #5, #9, #13, #28, and #35.
DeleteNice post! And WC predictions are out! http://countdownguyblog.blogspot.com/p/predictions.html
ReplyDeleteI asked #15 because I loved Kamikaze at the time. I think I also asked what were your top and bottom 5 songs of the year.
ReplyDelete8. Certain TV shows, some video games, but a lot of time on the internet, though mostly to listen to music.
ReplyDelete13. I know who asked that question, and do you really think any one else really cares WAMB10?
19. I agree with Adrian almost 100% about this. I can defiantly see why people hate Fetty Wap, because I used to, but then I kinda mellowed because the lyrical content is mostly about sticking with the girl and having fun. (Almost like Gold Digger, but with worse vocals)
21. Kill: JB F**k: LT Marry: Zayn
22.
1. Shut Up & Dance
2. Good To Be Alive
3. Good Feeling
4. 7 Years (But I love them all)

You hated 2013 more than 2010? Huh. I do think 2013 did have some pretty good highs, even if its lows were pretty bad. But 2010 was just a mess all-around.
DeleteI know who asked question 13, OMG its Keemia!
ReplyDeleteMe: He did it! Nooooooooooo!
ReplyDeleteParker: ?
Me: He cut his hair! Dark times are ahead! Dark times indeed! -drops-
Stevie: If your wondering who this person is, oh my god, it's the weekend! (LOL!)
Miles: wop dee doo who gives a heck about 1 haircut?
My most favourite convo
Stevie is supposed to be me, actually, but that isn't my real name. Stevie is just Leah's nickname for me.
DeleteI said something about it afterwards
DeleteSo I may as well reveal my thoughts on the questions I asked:
ReplyDelete#23: Not even Pokémon Go? :P Because when that thing was new, it was THE fad. I remember one of the countdowns where Spyder Harrison talked about celebrities who were playing Pokémon Go before he would introduce their songs.
#30: Thinking Out Loud being your least favorite of them I would expect. I still remember reading your earlier posts where Too Long Of A Title would just get weirder every week.
#32: The first five and See You Again aren't much of a surprise, but it is a little disappointing to see that the two biggies (Uptown Funk and SUAD) haven't softened on you much even a year later. And I know you stopped liking Hello after it was hogging #1 on the countdown, but it's nice that you can at least respect it right about now.
In hindsight, I should've added Fancy to that list, but seeing as that one was in red the week it was a Bonus Summer Hit, I'd picture it being either bad or irredeemable.
#38: Guess I can't say that 2015 being your least favorite surprises me too much, what with entering the dark ages of the countdown and the two biggest songs being overplayed. But I digress. If you had made that Year-End Hot 100 piece that you unfortunately had to scrap, I have a feeling it wouldn't have been very positive.
#38. Unfortunately.
Delete#33: I only heard Heathens from those
ReplyDeleteYou haven't even mentioned anything about one million page views yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's coming. When that special comes, there will be a really long paragraph only on that. So it's definitely coming.
DeleteMy answers:
ReplyDelete1. Yes, I have met multiple NFL stars such as Eddie George, Jared Cook, Cortland Finnegan, and Casey Hayward.
2. I've visited multiple venues in my home state of Tennessee such as Fall Creek Falls, Chattanooga (which is probably my favorite vacation spot), and Gatlinburg/Smoky Mountains. I've also been to the Rocky Mountains, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Seagrove Beach in Florida, and Outer Banks in North Carolina. I will be going to Jonathan Creek in Kentucky for a church retreat next month, too.
3. 11
4. Better than yours.
5. I have one sibling, an 8-year-old brother named Gibson.
6. Very.
7. I can't do this one.
8. Sports, definitely. My favorites to play are football, hockey, and basketball. I also play soccer and run track. So yeah, you can tell by now II'm an athlete.
9. See above.
10. I'd rather not answer this.
11. There is no question #11.
12. Probably Niall.
13. I don't give a crap.
14. ITAPII
15. All About That Bass
16. I do love this song, which is why I asked this. I figured Adrian would love it.
17. Although I'm not a huge fan of Drake, this is definitely one of the best albums of the year. My favorite song off of it is probably Controlla. I love Weston Road Flows, Too Good, and Childs Play also.
18. Too lazy to take a listen.
19. I love hip hop/rap because it's catchy and fun to rap along with. The lyrics can be stupid, but still. I asked this one BTW.
20. Trap Queen
21. Marry Louis, fuck Zayn, kill Justin Bieber
22. Good Feeling, SUAD, GTBA, 7 Years
23. I used to love Pokemon Go but I don't play it too much anymore.
24. Probably something related to sports or music.
25. AATB, Kamikaze, Uma Thurman
26. I listened to some of Gucci Mane's new mixtape, Woptober, and I loved it. My favorite song off of it is probably Addicted. There's also Ty Dolla $ign's Campaign, which I'm enjoying as well. My favorite song off of it is probably Campaign (feat. Future) because Bae is starting to fade on me.
27. I listen to music, play video games such as Minecraft, blog, and comment here. Sports are a biggie as well.
28. I'll just rank them from best to worst: Watch Me, Downtown, Ride, When We Were Young, One Call Away.
29. Hymn For The Weekend, Hey Mama, Just Like Fire
30. Radioactive, Shut Up And Dance, MSKWYDITD (LEU), Thinking Out Loud
31. Thirsty: Haven't heard, Ex's and Oh's: It's okay, Mama Said: It's trash, Lovesick: It's good, WDBWOTV: Haven't heard, Final Song: It's pretty good.
32. All of them I'd put in "great".
33. The Little Things, Heathens (Those are the only two of those I've heard)
34. Sugar (M5), Hymn For The Weekend, Animals (M5), Sugar (RS), Aminals (MG), Hello. Haven't heard the rest.
35. IDK and IDK.
36. Some of the best include Don't Hurt Me, Don't Mind, Get Ugly, 679, CSTF, and Team (by Iggy Azalea) along with a few others. The worst include Sweatshirt, Spirits, Mama Said, Stressed Out, Let It Go, and Jumpman.
37. ^
38. The best is 2013 and the worst was probably 2011 IMO.
39. Some of my favorites include Eminem, Calvin Harris, One Direction, DJ Snake, DJ Khaled, DJ Mustard, Fetty Wap, Jason Derulo, and Iggy Azalea.
Speaking of Eminem, I heard on Hits 1 that he is working on a new album.
DeleteI knew that already via his video game Shady Wars. I also heard that people like Niall Horan and Shawn Mendes will appear on that album.
DeleteAlso, you haven't heard The Weekend? Listen to it! It's great!
DeleteI'd rather stick to the rawer music from my COAEP playlist.
DeleteThe Weekend sucks and I didn't realize there was no #11. Oops. :P
DeleteAdrian, it's The Weeknd, not The Weekend.
DeleteHe was talking about the song, not the artist.
DeleteWhat is so good about the music in 2013? What's so bad about 2011's music?

ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bgemCaaQkU
ReplyDeleteAww, this is a sweet video. Also, someone in the comments said "Here before it blows up", which is true, I think this might be a big hit.
However, I didn't think that when it debuted Hit-Bound. I think this would just be another song that Hits 1 plays because it's from a popular artist and we all thought it wasn't going to be popular.

I am so over SHUT UP + DANCE.
DeleteJust listened to Eminem's new song and it's really good! Of course it's nowhere hear as good as any of his other songs, but it'll definitely debut COAEP this week.
ReplyDeleteActually, it probably won't debut until next week, but if it does, it won't stay long because it's just a 7-minute long speech rather than a song.
DeleteI disagree.
Deleteby the way adrian, i said #20
ReplyDeleteand i was going to add that all about that bass will be playing while your chosing
American Top 40 Highlights: I Hate U, I Love U Hits Top 10, Let Me Love You Hits Top 5, Closer Hits #1 Again, Side to Side, Capsize, and More Debut
ReplyDeleteExits: Mama Said (#31), Dangerous Woman (#35), Girls Like (#39), Let it Go (#40)
Entrants: 39. Greenlight, 37. In the Name of Love, 35. Capsize, 28. Side to Side
I Took a Pill in Ibiza and This Girl tie for biggest drop, down 8.
The Greatest and Starboy tie for biggest jump, up 9. Starboy is already at #12 on its second week.
Good news for some of you: Work From Home has a large chance of leaving next week as it drops to #40.
Closer is #1 for a second week as Treat You Better places at #2 and Heathens enters the top 3.
Other Songs:
Extra: Maroon 5 - Daylight (GREEN)
Breakout: Kanye West - Fade (BLUE)
Optional Extra: Nick Jonas/Tove Lo - Close (PINK)
Extra: Britney Spears/G-Eazy - Make Me (BLUE)
Breakout: Niall Horan - This Town (BLUE)
Optional Extra: Zara Larsson/MNEK - Never Forget You (GREEN)
SUBWAY Fresh Buzz Song: Bruno Mars - 24K Magic (PURPLE)
Optional Extra: Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me (GREEN)
Extra: Katy Perry - Part of Me (GREEN)
Optional Extra: Shakira/Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie (GREEN, just missing purple)
CSTF debuted at #12 there, so Starboy being #12 on its second week isn't anything amazing.
DeleteI may have more comments on this later, but bad news for you who are sick of Cheap Thrills: it just aired as a Most Wutchuwanted (introduced by Nick Jonas). Ho boy. I don't think it'll hit #1, but Stressed Out reclaimed #1 after a 20 spot drop so it could happen.
ReplyDeleteAnd it came on again. Second Most Wutchuwanted in a row in this car ride, introduced by Selena Gomez this time.
DeleteGoddamn it! That song's already clinched the award for the most overplayed song of 2016.
DeleteMost Overplayed Song of 2016 (for me): Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop the Feeling, of course.
Delete*most overplayed song of 2016 for me.
DeleteI would say that title goes to Love Yourself, as it spent more time at #1 on Billboard's Radio Songs chart than CSTF or Cheap Thrills, but it wasn't as huge on Hits 1. Hello had some of its overplay at the end of 2015 after some of its points had been exhausted.
DeleteLove Yourself (or as I like to call it now, Fuck Yourself) is #2 for me.
DeleteMost overplayed song this year for me is very possibly Stressed Out. But Cheap Thrills has been overplayed to death as well.
DeleteMore so that CSTF? Stressed Out came before any of them (except Hello), so if it lasts the rest of the year (which I'm pulling for!), it should be Hits 1's #1.
DeleteI think Stressed Out will be in the top 3 for the year-end Hits 1 chart.
DeleteThere's also Hello, as I mentioned… But five of its 12 weeks at #1 (if I'm not mistaken) counted towards 2015, and it failed to make that chart. If all 12 had counted towards 2016 it'd probably be like #2 or so. Where do you think it'll be?
Deletehttp://m.pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/162320/american-top-40-october-2016?page=1
ReplyDeleteI want Ariana Grande/Zedd - Break Free be an optional extra for next week.
COAEP is out with ten exits (including four incredibly random re-entries), a crazy drop from the top 3 to out of the top 20, and a brand new #1 song! Find out what they are here:
ReplyDeletehttp://chilloutandeatpizza.blogspot.com/2016/10/chill-out-and-eat-pizza-week-of-102216.html
Really Lil Wayne? Peanut Butter Jelly fishes on toast?
ReplyDeleteAlso, "Naked in the North Pole," which is the same thing as suicide?
DeleteI have finished #40Friday for the week, and it will be out later tonight. But fun fact: Two artists will have two songs drop out this week!
ReplyDeleteOn COAEP, three artists had two songs drop out: Future, Lil Uzi Vert, and French Montana.
DeleteAnd there is going to be a rap song debuting. You'll have to wait and find out, Parker.
DeleteOoh, can't wait to see what that is!
DeleteI actually remember the WC week of 05/10/14, when 2 artists had 2 songs leaving the countdown that week.
DeleteNo one cares!
DeleteAvicii and Eminem both had two songs leaving that week.
DeleteMiles, we care.
DeleteThe only person that cares is you WAMB10.
DeleteSo, I'm in State College right now, where my grandparents live. And while looking for places to eat, we passed by a theater where, on November 7th, Big Gigantic will be performing.
ReplyDeleteI just thought I'd share that for the The Little Things fans. I don't like the song, but I thought that was worth sharing.
Isn't State College where Penn State is?
DeleteThat is correct. We were out with my sister and her husband, and we were even parked right next to the theater in question. We ate at a diner called The Corner Room, if that rings a bell.
DeleteI forgot to include this in the COAEP post, but here are the chances of each song in the top 10 of hitting #1:
ReplyDeleteWait For It (Chances of it hitting #1 again): 75% (Likely)
Want Her: 40% (Unlikely)
Don't Hurt Me (Again): 25% (Unlikely)
OOOUUU: 25% (Unlikely)
Wat U Mean (Aye, Aye, Aye): 10% (Very unlikely)
Juju On That Beat: 35% (Unlikely)
Broccoli: 30% (Unlikely)
Feelin U: 5% (Very unlikely)
In My Room: 20% (Pretty unlikely)
Push It On Me: 5% (Very unlikely)

x38. Victorious (DTHNOBx2)
x41. Spirits
I got one exit right, and that was Spirits.
DeleteWell I could've expected the two #1s to leave, seeing as they were no longer available for vote.
DeleteDid you know Cake by the ocean is on Hits 1 for a year now?
DeleteExits:
ReplyDeleteVictorious
CBTO
Spirits (NO!)
The Little Things(NO!)
- A Hits 1 Fan
While Parker throws a be-gone party for Spirits, I'll be grieving its departure.
DeleteAnd while I didn't like The Little Things, I am shocked at how quickly it left. Well at least we finally lost Cake By The Ocean and Victorious, though.
7 Years may make a re-entry.

wait. never mind. We have 4 exits and the same amount of heavily played hit-bound songs, maybe it won't Re-Enter. Although it would be nice if it did.
- A Hits 1 Fan
Please do not re-enter...

ReplyDelete45. No
44. Dangerous Woman
43. I'm Not Famous

31. Perfect Illusion (Biggest Drop -15)
30. Girls Talk Boys
Delete29. My Way
28. Stressed Out
27. Don't Let Me Down
26. Death of a Bachelor
While everybody on here is talking about the countdown right now...
ReplyDeleteNEW MUSIC ALERT: Echosmith has a BRAND NEW SINGLE coming soon!
Cool! I hope it's like the three other singles that made the countdown.
Delete33. Runaground - Chase You Down (DEBUT)
ReplyDeleteBiggest Drop: Lady Gaga - Perfect Illusion (-15)
ReplyDeleteIt'll probably jump next week because of the album, though.
DeleteSo, third set of five:
35. Never Be Like You
34. Fresh Eyes
33. Chase You Down
32. Send My Love (To Your New Lover)
31. Perfect Illusion
I am commenting each set of five.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete28. Stressed Out
ReplyDeleteNine more weeks. Can it do it?!
That is now 44 weeks on this countdown, which is the oldest since CBTO and Victorious left. If it can make a year, that would be something!
Delete27. Don't Let Me Down
ReplyDeleteWhoa...that was quite unexpected.
Guys, I just realized something that is very odd. When Victorious first left in January, Brendon Urie hosted Hit-Bound that week. Now Victorious leaves this week, and Brendon is hosting Hit-Bound yet again!
ReplyDeleteThat song also left in a 4 exit week in both runs.
DeleteThe fact that we've only heard one debut so far tells me that our new ones are gonna be pretty big in coming weeks. Or at least I foresee that.
ReplyDeleteAlso, why is Starboy so static?!
21. Sia/Kendrick Lamar - The Greatest (DEBUT)
ReplyDelete17. Alessia Cara - Scars to Your Beautiful (DEBUT)
Delete16. Cold Water
ReplyDeleteToo bad it didn't last in the Top 10. Gah.
15. Don't Wanna Know (DEBUT)
ReplyDeleteHighest debut of the year.
14. This Is What You Came For
ReplyDeleteThank you! About time this left the Top 10, very needed after that scary jump to #4 last week.
Top 10 entrants:
ReplyDeleteRide (re)
Cheap Thrills (re)
Let Me Love You (new)
11. Into You
ReplyDeleteWell, I knew it wasn't gonna last in the Top 10 forever. But look out, because 24K Magic is coming for that region now!
Sounds like they changed "Box Office Biggies" to "Monster Movies". Or maybe that's a Halloween thing, seeing as it's still captioned as the former.
ReplyDeletePiggies!
Delete6. The Bane of Everyone Here (Yes, I'm going to keep calling it that until the hate for it dies down) by X Ambassadors
ReplyDeleteNot the bane of I. Let's hit top 5 now!
DeleteTop 5 entrants:
ReplyDeleteSit Still, Look Pretty (re)
Cheap Thrills (re)
Yep. Adrian is gonna be mad about Cheap Thrills re-entering the Top 5.
DeleteIn the meantime, please don't let Treat You Better hit #1.
I doubt TYB will hit #1. I predicted it to be #4.

DeleteHaha, eat it Graham! :D But before we get to that...
ReplyDelete#1 song this week one year ago: Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift (first and only week at #1)
Lol. At least there is some good for him: The Little Things leaving, which is NOT okay with me.
DeleteHeathens is okay right now. I'd totally prefer Closer at #1.
Wildest Dreams is the worst single from 1989, but it's still good. I'd probably rate it an 8 or 8.5/10.
On that note, I know you asked some time back why I didn't like Bad Blood but I didn't answer - to put it easily, it doesn't sound like the kind of song that Taylor Swift should be doing. And Kendrick Lamar doesn't belong on the remix. But that's just me. I guess a diss track from her kind of makes sense on paper, but it doesn't sound good.
DeleteAlso, if it weren't for 24K Magic, my least favorite and favorite songs on the countdown would be appropriately placed. :P Guess that spoils my orange and purple, but it'll be up in an hour or so anyway.
Heathens is still my favorite song even though it's #1.
DeleteSpyder, Ride didn't hit #1.
ReplyDeleteHeathens hit #1.
DeleteIt did. But he said that their other two songs on the countdown (Stressed Out and Ride) both hit #1, but Ride never hit #1, it peaked at #2.
DeleteUm...Don't Let Me Down is most wutchuwanted. :P It's #27 on the countdown.
ReplyDeleteHot 45 Chart out on my blog.

My Weekend Countdown and my Top 50 chart posts are all delayed and will be released, hopefully tomorrow. I'm in a bad mood because last night was our final home game of the season and we lost, when we should have won. Also, our shot to make playoffs are over because we're 4-5 right now and we've lost 4 games in a row.
ReplyDeleteMy local high school's homecoming game was last night and I couldn't go because I THOUGHT I was going to a haunted house, but that unfortunately didn't happen. I saw Instagram photos of all my friends that were there and I got pissed!
