Adele (10) – Week Of January 30, 2016

So.......Louis Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth recently had their baby. I actually just recently saw a pic Louis posted of him and the baby, Freddie. So I now believe everything and no longer think this whole thing is fake. As far as the countdown goes, we said goodbye to a really good song and a song that is very old at this point and is currently in the station-changer mode. In return, we got a really good song and a bad song. So not much changed there. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

New Entrants
~ Selena Gomez debuted this week with yet another uninteresting single from Revival. My main problem with Hands To Myself is Selena Gomez's voice. Sure, the beat is catchy and all. But I can't stand her so called "singing" in the verses. I can't understand a single word she's saying because she's practically whispering, which most of the time I despise in a song. Unfortunately, those verses are bad enough to ruin the entire song. Although better than Same Old Love, Hands To Myself fails to impress me.

~ On the other hand, we have one of my all time favorite bands, Coldplay. I've enjoyed their music all throughout my childhood. They're pretty much the first band I've ever really enjoyed. A Rush Of Blood To The Head was the first ever album I heard from them and I was in love. Mylo Xyloto was another amazing album from these guys. But you get the point. I adore their music. Adventure Of A Lifetime is definitely a really catchy song. Chris Martin never fails on the vocals. The beat is really catchy. I really hope it can stay a while and maybe peak as high as A Sky Full Of Stars did back in 2014 (#11). For those unaware, Coldplay will be performing at the Super Bowl half-time show. I'm literally only going to watch the Super Bowl for their performance. I look forward to it.

Can't Keep My Blurbs To Myself
~ Seriously? Adele is back at #1? Can we stop this song? It's already been overplayed like crazy. Give it a break.

~ Things are looking really good at #2 this week! Sorry definitely has #1 potential at this point. Let's get that song up to #1 and dethrone Hello for good!

~ I guess I'm okay with DNCE – Cake By The Ocean at #3. I don't necessarily want it to hit #1. But I won't be annoyed if it did.

~ I don't really want I Know What You Did Last Summer to be jumping. But if it means Stitches will leave the Top 10, I'm all for it!

~ I'm cool with the jump from X Ambassadors – Renegades to #23 this week. This song can stay as long as it likes.

~ However, I'm not cool with the jumps from R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away and Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance. Let's get both of these back down and maybe off the countdown soon.

~ The long-awaited drop from Alessia Cara – Here has finally arrived! Let us rejoice!

~ Our debuts from last week clearly failed at performing an acceptable second-week boost.

~ I can definitely see Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out hitting #1 sometime soon.

~ Adele – When We Were Young continues this jump/drop pattern. Let's keep it where it is now! I'm happy with it down at #35.

~ Panic! At The Disco – Victorious just recently debuted at #89 on the Billboard Hot 100. I feel a re-entry coming to us soon from this song.

~ I'm sure you're all eagerly awaiting my opinion on Zayn Malik – Pillowtalk. Overall, it's not bad. Zayn's voice is probably the best I've ever heard it in this song. It's not the best song on Hit-Bound, but it is pretty good.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out!!! Find out if Skylar Grey and X Ambassadors are capable of holding at #1 with Cannonball for a second week in a row!

~ Throwback Pick: Lady Gaga – Alejandro (probably my favorite song from her)

My Top 5 Picks
1. Justin Bieber – Sorry
2. Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods
3. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
4. Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out
5. Coldplay – Adventure Of A Lifetime

One Direction (1) – Week Of January 23, 2016

I'm so tired of winter at this point. I can't stand all these extremely cold days, especially since they're not cold enough to cancel school. Yet I still freeze my ass off every single day. Now as far as the countdown goes, we're not doing so well. One-third of the countdown (15 songs) is looking really bad. Biggest Jump Of The Week: The Vamps – Wake Up (+17)

New Entrants
~ Long-time Hit-Bound veteran Disclosure/Lorde – Magnets has finally made its way on to the countdown. We haven't heard from Lorde in quite a while. So it's nice to see her making a return. This song is really catchy. I'm a fan of Disclosure. I think the production on almost all their songs sound very interesting and catchy. Although a lot of their songs kind of sound the same in that aspect, they all still sound catchy. Magnets is no different. I hope this song does well.

~ Our other entrant just so happens to be another long-time Hit-Bound veteran. I'm a pretty big fan of Conrad Sewell ever since I first listened to his song with Kygo called Firestone. When I was at the 103.5 KISS FM iHeartRadio Jingle Ball last month, Conrad Sewell was one of the performers. His vocal ability stands out from everyone else out there nowadays. I really think Hold Me Up does have some of those moments where his voice stands out. I can understand why people may dislike this song. But Conrad Sewell does have talent.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Lukas Graham – 7 Years
  • David Guetta/Sia/Fetty Wap – Bang My Head
  • Justin Bieber – Love Yourself
  • Tryon – Somebody To Love Me
  • Adam Lambert – Another Lonely Night
  • One Direction – History
  • Coldplay – Adventure Of A Lifetime
  • Pitbull/Osmani Garcia/Lil Jon – El Taxi
  • Tori Kelly – Hollow
  • 5 Seconds Of Summer – Jet Black Heart
  • Ellie Goulding – Something In The Way You Move
  • Selena Gomez – Hands To Myself
  • Panic! At The Disco – Victorious
  • BØRNS – Electric Love*
  • Jacob Whitesides – Secrets*

*When I checked DogstarRadio, these songs did not show up, but there were only 13 songs. So I am assuming these songs are still on Hit-Bound.

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Adam Lambert – Another Lonely Night
2. 5 Seconds Of Summer – Jet Black Heart
3. Justin Bieber – Love Yourself
4. Ellie Goulding – Something In The Way You Move
5. Panic! At The Disco – Victorious

El Blurbs
~ I will scream out of anger if Selena Gomez – Same Old Love hits #1. Keep Perfect and Confident at the top if necessary. Just don't let Same Old Love get any higher than it already is.

~ I did not see DNCE – Cake By The Ocean as a Top 10 song. But I still like it. So I don't really care.

~ Ouch. Moments is in the Bottom 5 on its third week. Like I said, I won't be devastated if it left. It simply will not be remembered a month after its departure.

~ Daya – Hide Away is extremely annoying at this point. Let's get it out of the countdown very soon please!

~ Adele – When We Were Young is back in the mid-20's. I really hope this song can drop again. It is the most boring and uninteresting song currently on the countdown with One Call Away coming in second.

~ I'm getting sick of Shawn Mendes/Camila Cabello – I Know What You Did Last Summer. It doesn't have anything interesting to it anymore. I actually want it to leave soon.

~ Speaking of Shawn Mendes, I officially don't like Stitches anymore. It hurts to put a Shawn Mendes song in red. But this one has been way too overplayed and has been an instant station changer for quite a while now.

~ Let's get Wildest Dreams, Worth It, Can't Feel My Face, Like I'm Gonna Lose You, and more off the countdown soon! These songs are very annoying at this point.

~ There are no bad songs on Hit-Bound.

~ The Song Wars Round 2 Results have been posted and the Round 3 Voting survey is now up! You can find that stuff on the tab titled "2015/2016 Song Wars" along the right side of this website.

~ The Hit 45 Chart is currently being worked on. I will inform you in the comment section when it is complete.

~ Most Missed Countdown Song: Mika/Ariana Grande – Popular Song

~ #1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Tinashe/Chris Brown – Player

~ Notice how my Top 5 Picks did not change at all this week.

My Top 5 Picks
1. Justin Bieber – Sorry
2. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
3. Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out
4. Audien/Lady Antebellum – Something Better

My Bottom 5 Picks
1. MØ – Kamikaze
2. Selena Gomez – Same Old Love

Demi Lovato (1) – Week Of January 16, 2016

Hey guys! My dad thought it would be a great day to drag me out of the house early morning. So I'm blogging on my phone using the Blogger app that I just downloaded today. Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie Between Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible and Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out (+10)

New Entrants
~ With Levels making this unnecessary re-entry, that means we have three new entrants.

~ The best entrant just so happens to be Nelly/Jeremih – The Fix. I actually didn't like this song at first. But I did grow into it. It has a pretty catchy hook to it, which is mainly what makes me continuously come back to it. I don't really see this song staying long on this countdown. But at least a couple weeks will be good.

~ The Vamps debuted with Wake Up, a song that really has nothing special. It's good enough to be put in green, but it's nothing truly amazing like Somebody To You from last year. We'll see how long it lasts and how long it’ll be until I get sick of it.

~ Last and definitely least, we have the worst song of 2016 so far. That is Kamikaze by . Words cannot even begin to describe how annoying this song is. It's truly atrocious and doesn't deserve to have any radio airplay. MØ's voice in this song is one of the most annoying things I've ever heard. Her vocal performance in Major Lazer's hit, Lean On, was so much better than her vocal performance in Kamikaze. I listen to this song and my ears scream for mercy. It sounds like something a child, who is completely inexperienced in the music industry, would create. One way or another, this giant piece of trash WILL make it into the Bottom 5 songs of 2016. You can count on that. I really hope it leaves soon.

Blurb Up
~ Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible made a nice jump to #3 this week. I would actually like to see this song hit #1.

~ Selena Gomez – Same Old Love at #4 is a big fat no. Stop this madness. Now!

~ One Direction – Perfect is now at #2. I feel like it does have a chance at #1. We'll see.

~ Rachel Platten – Stand By You is asking for entrance into the Top 10. I'll take that song over Same Old Love any day.

~ It's very unfortunate that our #2  song from last week is now at #16. On My Mind's time on the countdown is coming to end.

~ I Know What You Did Last Summer is probably not going to last very long. Same with Used To Love You.

~ Hits 1 must've read my comment last week on how DNCE – Cake By The Ocean was becoming a forgettable song. So they decided to make it more noticeable by boosting to up to a new peak of #13.

~ Fifth Harmony – Worth It is officially annoying. Please leave next week.

~ Despite its exit from the countdown this week, Panic! At The Disco – Victorious is on Hit-Bound. I guess that's what happens when you have Brendon Urie host.

~ Justin Bieber – Sorry made a really nice jump back into the Top 10! Now let's get it into the Top 5.

~ Am I really happy that Confident is our new #1 song? No. I'm just happy that Hello is not #1. I hope a song like Perfect or Irresistible can take over soon. But I'll take Confident over Hello any day.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! I can't add links in this app. So you can find it on the right side of the Web Version under the "Other Blogs" tab.

My Top 5 Picks
1. Justin Bieber – Sorry
2. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
3. Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out
4. Audien/Lady Antebellum – Something Better
5. Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods

Adele (9) – Week Of January 9, 2016

This is getting ridiculous. This song is extremely overrated at this point. I officially don't like it anymore. Adele has had better music in the past. Let's please get a new song at #1 soon. I don't know how much longer I can take having it at #1. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

  1. Adele – Hello (#1) [9th Week At #1]

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Taylor Swift – Blank Space

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You (–21)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: One Direction – Drag Me Down (+12)

New Entrants
~ Tove Lo is back........again. Talking Body and Habits were both really good when they debuted. Her new song, Moments, does not shine in that kind of light if it even shines at all. It's been around for a while on Hit-Bound and frankly, there are definitely some better songs on Hit-Bound that should've debuted instead. Don't be surprised if this song is red in the near future.

~ The Chainsmokers failed to debut the Weekend Countdown back in 2014 with their hit, #SELFIE. Their new song however, did manage to debut (probably due to Spyder Harrison's love for it). It's called Roses and it features Rozes. I didn't really like it at first, but I did grow into it. But while I like it now, I definitely don't see myself remembering this song by the end of 2016. This song is a good example of something I can play around with now while it's still new. But as of right now, I can't see myself enjoying this song into February. But for now, I like the vocals and the build-up. But the part the build-up builds into could've used some work. That's just my opinion.

I'm Gonna Blurb By You*
~ Selena Gomez – Same Old Love is officially bad. Get out. Now.

~ Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You finally made the deserving massive drop.

~ There's only one good song in the Top 5. We seriously need to work on that. There's one specific song on here that is Top 5 pretty much everywhere except this countdown (hint: It's #1 on AT40 this week).

~ Rachel Platten – Stand By You made that jump into the teens I've been waiting for.

~ DNCE – Cake By The Ocean is starting to become a forgettable song. Like I forgot it was on this countdown.

~ Daya – Hide Away has become a really boring song that was only good for a little while.

~ If The Weeknd – Can't Feel My Face could leave really soon, that would make me happy. No song from The Weeknd can top The Hills, no matter how much Hits 1 underrated that song.

~ I Know What You Did Last Summer is starting to become uninteresting to me. If only the song had a little more to it.

~ Conrad Sewell's EP, All I Know, is now out in the US! I definitely think he is one of the best male singers out there right now. Especially when I saw him live, he really showed off his vocal abilities. I think just about every song on the EP is better than Hold Me Up. Just saying. He seriously deserves more recognition for his amazing talent.

~ Thankfully, we got rid of two huge pieces of trash this week. May we never hear either of you again.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Justin Bieber can hold at #1 with Sorry for a third week in a row and a fourth time overall!

~ For those unaware, the Round 1 Results for the Song Wars competition has been posted earlier this week. You can find it on the Song Wars tab on the right side of the site (you have to go to web version if you're on mobile). That tab also has the link to Round 2 voting. You have to until next Saturday to vote! So go on and start voting!

Adele (8) – Week Of January 2, 2016

Hey guys! I hope all of you had a happy New Year! For the next two months, I'll be forgetting that it's 2016 and accidentally put 2015 in the title. So that might happen a few times. No songs leaving the countdown this week, which really isn't surprising since there are never any new entrants on the first week of the year.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Taylor Swift – Blank Space

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Taylor Swift – Wildest Dreams (–17)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: One Direction – Drag Me Down (+18)

Blurbed Out
~ Justin Bieber – Sorry seriously needs to get back into the Top 10. That song is way too good to not be there. Let's go, voters!

~ One Direction – Drag Me Down made a big jump back into the teens this week. Let's keep this song a little lower on the countdown because I really don't want to end up hating it.

~ Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance is still in the Top 10......

~ Selena Gomez – Same Old Love in the Top 10 isn't necessarily okay. I'm really tired of that song. Let's please get it off the countdown.

~ However, The Weeknd – In The Night is definitely welcomed into the Top 10. I definitely see some success coming out of it.

~ Alessia Cara – Here needs to leave the countdown NOW!!!

~ Gwen Stefani – Used To Love You is seriously not getting anywhere on this countdown. How about we move this song up and move the crappy Wildest Dreams down.

~ Andy Grammer – Good To Be Alive needs to leave. It's been staying in the same area on the countdown for a while now, but I continuously hear it on the radio and it has become super annoying.

~ I don't see how Adele – When We Were Young is something you would want to hear on the radio. It's way too slow, emotional, and boring. But this is all my opinion. If you like songs like these on the radio, I won't judge you for it. The only people I'll judge are those who think Iggy Azalea is better than Nicki Minaj. :P

~ Conrad Sewell – Hold Me Up is still on Hit-Bound despite its departure from American Top 40 at least a month ago. The song is still pretty good, so I don't have a problem with it. I'm just saying. The same thing happened with Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together earlier in 2015.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is currently being worked on. I'll inform you in the comment section when it is complete.

~ Best Song On YouTube15: Tie Between Justin Bieber – Love Yourself and Steve Aoki/Walk Off The Earth – Home We'll Go (Take Me Hand)

~ Most Missed Song: Jason Derulo – Whatcha Say

~ Song I'm Just Now Starting To Enjoy: Jidenna/Roman GianArthur – Classic Man

My Top 5 Picks
1. Justin Bieber – Sorry
2. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
3. Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out
4. Panic! At The Disco – Victorious
5. The Weeknd – In The Night
