Adele (10) – Week Of January 30, 2016

So.......Louis Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth recently had their baby. I actually just recently saw a pic Louis posted of him and the baby, Freddie. So I now believe everything and no longer think this whole thing is fake. As far as the countdown goes, we said goodbye to a really good song and a song that is very old at this point and is currently in the station-changer mode. In return, we got a really good song and a bad song. So not much changed there. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

New Entrants
~ Selena Gomez debuted this week with yet another uninteresting single from Revival. My main problem with Hands To Myself is Selena Gomez's voice. Sure, the beat is catchy and all. But I can't stand her so called "singing" in the verses. I can't understand a single word she's saying because she's practically whispering, which most of the time I despise in a song. Unfortunately, those verses are bad enough to ruin the entire song. Although better than Same Old Love, Hands To Myself fails to impress me.

~ On the other hand, we have one of my all time favorite bands, Coldplay. I've enjoyed their music all throughout my childhood. They're pretty much the first band I've ever really enjoyed. A Rush Of Blood To The Head was the first ever album I heard from them and I was in love. Mylo Xyloto was another amazing album from these guys. But you get the point. I adore their music. Adventure Of A Lifetime is definitely a really catchy song. Chris Martin never fails on the vocals. The beat is really catchy. I really hope it can stay a while and maybe peak as high as A Sky Full Of Stars did back in 2014 (#11). For those unaware, Coldplay will be performing at the Super Bowl half-time show. I'm literally only going to watch the Super Bowl for their performance. I look forward to it.

Can't Keep My Blurbs To Myself
~ Seriously? Adele is back at #1? Can we stop this song? It's already been overplayed like crazy. Give it a break.

~ Things are looking really good at #2 this week! Sorry definitely has #1 potential at this point. Let's get that song up to #1 and dethrone Hello for good!

~ I guess I'm okay with DNCE – Cake By The Ocean at #3. I don't necessarily want it to hit #1. But I won't be annoyed if it did.

~ I don't really want I Know What You Did Last Summer to be jumping. But if it means Stitches will leave the Top 10, I'm all for it!

~ I'm cool with the jump from X Ambassadors – Renegades to #23 this week. This song can stay as long as it likes.

~ However, I'm not cool with the jumps from R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away and Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance. Let's get both of these back down and maybe off the countdown soon.

~ The long-awaited drop from Alessia Cara – Here has finally arrived! Let us rejoice!

~ Our debuts from last week clearly failed at performing an acceptable second-week boost.

~ I can definitely see Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out hitting #1 sometime soon.

~ Adele – When We Were Young continues this jump/drop pattern. Let's keep it where it is now! I'm happy with it down at #35.

~ Panic! At The Disco – Victorious just recently debuted at #89 on the Billboard Hot 100. I feel a re-entry coming to us soon from this song.

~ I'm sure you're all eagerly awaiting my opinion on Zayn Malik – Pillowtalk. Overall, it's not bad. Zayn's voice is probably the best I've ever heard it in this song. It's not the best song on Hit-Bound, but it is pretty good.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out!!! Find out if Skylar Grey and X Ambassadors are capable of holding at #1 with Cannonball for a second week in a row!

~ Throwback Pick: Lady Gaga – Alejandro (probably my favorite song from her)

My Top 5 Picks
1. Justin Bieber – Sorry
2. Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods
3. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
4. Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out
5. Coldplay – Adventure Of A Lifetime

    1. I disagree with that. I really enjoyed her album, Stars Dance, from 2013. But her latest album, Revival, was a disappointment. She can sing. But I felt her talent went to waste with this album.

      Delete
    2. Revival was just average in my opinion bland typical pop music

      Delete
  3. Justin Bieber - Sorry is really old and same with Taylor Swift - Out Of The Woods yet they're in the top 2 of your top 5 picks but I respect your opinion.

    1. Out Of The Woods just debuted AT40 this week, so it's definitely not old. But I can understand if you're sick of Sorry. It's just way too catchy for me to get sick of it.

  4. Parker must be happy about this week's biggest drop.

  5. So what is a better band Coldplay or Maroon 5 ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's a tough call. Coldplay, Maroon 5, as well as Nickelback are all in my Top 3 for my favorite bands of all time. But ranking the three bands is really hard.

  6. I'm sad about Worth It's exit but are you sad about Something Better's exit.

    1. I'm not really sad about it. It had its time and I enjoyed every week it was on here. It had to leave eventually. But I still love the song.

  7. Coldplay's A Head Full Of Dreams is a pretty good album

  8. Ya Sorry is old and overplayed but OOTW is still good.

  9. I'm looking forward to Coldplay's halftime performance. For the game, I'm rooting for the Broncos.

  10. Why did we have Adventure of a Lifetime enter, but not Something in the way You Move enter?

The bottom 3 have done absolutely nothing in the past week, so I think we need to get rid of them.

And as I expected, last week's debuts do nothing as well.

Okay, now I'm sick of When We Were Young, partially because it keeps jumping and dropping from mid 20s to mid 30s. If its just going to do this its entire countdown tenure, then just leave.

Moments is just a space filler.

Get On My Mind out of here. I'm so over this song, so much so that I would rather have Army here.

Can we get Roses, and Good to be Alive up higher than this?

I'm actually happy that Hello is back at #1, and it should stay there for 3 more weeks.

Sorry actually may hit #1, and I wouldn't mind it, if only Hello wasn't at #1.

Notice how this was the third week in a row a song has not been able to hold onto the #1 spot? Sorry may hit #1 next week, but Hello will return as well.

    I'm mixed on Pillowtalk.

  12. Guys! I'm back from the dead!
Bailey may agree with my dad and this one diehard fan from school, but I'm all for #KeepPounding. I mean, no offense to those Broncos lovers, but the Panthers have a higher chance of winning, IMO.
Opinions on certain songs chance, as you all well know. Here are some songs I just recently grew into:
    Roses
    SOB
    Magnets
    Hands To Myself (sorry Adrian)
In the meantime, I'd be really happy to see certain songs leave, like Photograph, Stitches, Here, SUAD, and LIGLY.
Also today I went and saw the giant panda Bei Bei today. Let me just say, he is the king of cute. Literally!

  27. This is a Billboard Breakdown alert.

Work by Rihanna and Drake is the Hot Shot debut on the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at #9.

Hands To Myself by Selena Gomez jumps with streaming and sales boost from 21 to 7.

Justin Bieber replaces himself at #1 from Sorry to Love Yourself.

My House by Flo Rida jumps into the top 10 from 12 to 5.

I Took A Pill In Ibiza by Mike Posner jumps 20 spots from 79 to 59.

Good To Be Alive gaining some momentum from 83 to 70.

Something In The Way You Move by Ellie Goulding jumps from #2 on the Bubbling Under chart onto the Hot 100 debuting at #81.

Dessert by Dawin made a big drop from from its peak at #68 all the way to #90.

Focus by Arian Grande continues losing steam dropping from #51 to #89.

Looks like the new album didn't have much staying power as Emperor's New Cloths by Panic! At The Disco drops from #72 to #96, as well as Death Of A Bachelor, and Victorious dropping off the chart.

There are 7 new country songs debuting on the Hot 100, and all of them are at the bottom 20.

Stand By You by Rachel Platten jumps into the top 40 at #37.

Stressed Out reaches a new peak at #3, but its going to have a tough time to overturn Sorry and Love Yourself, the latter of which got to #1 with a biggest airplay gain of the week.

I'm Miles and this was a Billboard Breakdown alert. We now return you to your regularly scheduled commenting.

  43. This is gonna be another boring week with probably 2 (maybe 3) debuts. Aren't we due for a 6 or 7 entrant week?

The definite entrants are Pillowtalk and SITWYM and the maybe is Jet Black Heart.

    4. Sometimes 6 entrant weeks are not that good like the one in February 21, 2015. 7 entrant weeks could be that way as well.

    5. Seriously? There were some really good songs like Love Me Harder that left and some very bad songs like FourFive Seconds that debuted. I have to say that the only good 6 DTHNOB week in 2015 was November 21, 2015. August 20 2015, sucks as well even though it had 1 re-entry and 5 debuts.

  49. Guys, bring out the tissues. Today, after my sister had soccer, I was in the family's bathroom cleaning out my blood from the tooth I pulled out. Then my family aren't there. Luckily for me, my school vice principal got me to my family. I cried and I cried, I couldn't speak right. To cheer me up, I went to my dads and had some fun, Right now I am in my dads bathroom
