Pitbull (6) – Week Of February 22, 2014

Pitbull is one of the most annoying artists out there. His music is really annoying. His best song is and always will be Feel This Moment. I have a new color: Turquoise = Song That Is Super Old and Must Leave Or I’ll Absolutely Hate It. Before we get to this week’s Fresh 45, here are the songs we’re saying goodbye to this week.

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Eminem/Rihanna – The Monster (–17) [Nooo!]

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie Between Avicii/Aloe Blacc – Wake Me Up and American Authors – Best Day Of My Life (+10)

New Entrants
~ We got a re-entry from Armin van Buuren/Trevor Guthrie – This Is What It Feels Like. I hope this stays around for a while. I missed it during the two weeks it was gone.

~ You guys really wanted Aloe Blacc – The Man to debut. There it is. This song is Aloe Blacc's best. :)

This Is What Blurbs Feel Like
~ Katy Perry – Dark Horse reached #3! Please stop what's going on with #1 and #2!

~ Since Aloe Blacc – The Man debuted, it pushed up Avicii/Aloe Blacc – Wake Me Up giving it the Biggest Jump Of The Week. Since Avicii/Aloe Blacc – Wake Me Up got the Biggest Jump Of The Week, that pushed up Avicii/Dan Tyminski – Hey Brother to #18. Got all that?

~ I don't even want to talk about this week's Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week.

~ If Zendaya – Replay is going to become a thing, I'll need to try and get used to it. It'll be hard.

~ MKTO – Classic is continuing to jump in and out of the Top 10.

~ Imagine Dragons – Demons needs to leave the Top 10............NOW!!!

~ I hate all the songs that are about sex and drugs. It's so annoying!!! If a song is about sex or drugs, it's gonna take A LOT for me to like it.

~ Glad to see Hits 1 actually read my Wutchuwant Survey results. (I'm talking about the resurrection of the #45 song.)

~ John Newman – Love Me Again has spent several weeks in the Bottom 5.

~ I just figured out that the awful artist will.i.am was part of the great band The Black Eyed Peas. will.i.am clearly can’t make any good music without the help of The Black Eyed Peas.

~ I'm tired of hearing SpongeBob Squarepants on the radio. Please do something about that.

~ OneRepublic – If I Lose Myself and OneRepublic – Feel Again are both better than Counting Stars as of right now.

~ It's quite annoying that 2 songs that debuted on the same week are constantly switching between #1 and #2.

~ Hardwell/Matthew Koma – Dare You is actually still on Hit-Bound. Janelle Monae – Dance Apocalyptic has left for good...

~ Lady Gaga – Applause and Katy Perry – Roar need to leave. Who still listens to those songs???

~ From #7 – #18, we have a lot of good music.

~ You probably already heard this song before. But this is for the people who haven't heard it. Check out Maroon 5/Rihanna – If I Never See Your Face Again.

~ The 1975 – Chocolate didn't get a very good welcome back.

~ 1 more week until Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark breaks the record for longest tenured song. Maroon 5 – Payphone is in danger.

My Top 5 Picks
1. John Newman – Love Me Again
2. Armin van Buuren/Trevor Guthrie – This Is What It Feels Like
3. Panic! At The Disco/Lolo – Miss Jackson
4. Jason Derulo – Talk Dirty
5. Avicii/Dan Tyminski – Hey Brother

Worst 5 Songs
1. Katy Perry – Roar
2. Pitbull/Ke$ha – Timber
3. Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)
4. AJR – I'm Ready
5. Zendaya – Replay

  • Neon Trees – Sleeping With A Friend
  • NONONO – Pumpin’ Blood

~ The reason why there is only 13 songs is because Zedd/Matthew Koma/Miriam Bryant – Find You aired twice.

~ Hardwell/Matthew Koma – Dare You and Janelle Monáe – Dance Apocalyptic left Hit-Bound but didn’t debut The Weekend Countdown.

~ Calvin Harris/Ayah Marar – Thinking About You stays on Hit-Bound for ANOTHER week.

~ For last week’s Hit-Bound Poll, here are the winners.

  3. One Direction – Story Of My Life (#3)
  2. Pitbull/Ke$ha – Timber (#1)
  1. OneRepublic – Counting Stars (#2) [4th Week At #1]

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Avicii/Aloe Blacc – Wake Me Up (–23)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Olly Murs – Dance With Me Tonight (+19)

I Need To Know Now, Know Now. Can You Blurb Me Again?
~ Katy Perry – Dark Horse is in the Top 5.

~ Olly Murs – Dance With Me Tonight and Passenger – Let Her Go both re-entered the Top 10.

~ On one of the Wutchuwant Countdowns I heard yesterday, Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark was #7. You people need to stop voting for this song. I don't care if this is the first time you hear that song. I've heard this song over 347 times. So has the rest of North America who follows Sirius XM Hits 1.

~ If these are The 45 Biggest Songs In North America, where's Shakira/Rihanna – Can't Remember To Forget You? That song better debut soon.

~ This is John Newman – Love Me Again's 5th straight week in the Bottom 5.

~ Hang in there Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – Can't Hold Us. You've got about a month to go.

~ Jason Derulo hosted Hit-Bound. At one point he said he puts hot sauce in all his foods. He'd even put it in cereal. I wonder what that's like.

~ OneRepublic – Counting Stars at #1 is almost as bad as Pitbull/Ke$ha – Timber at #1. I've heard Counting Stars over 200 times on Hits 1 and The Pulse combined.

~ Eminem/Rihanna – The Monster and Lorde – Team made some big drops out of the Top 10. I'm disappointed that The Monster didn't reach #1. Hope our new song on Hit-Bound, Eminem/Nate Ruess – Headlights has a chance at #1.

~ Hardwell/Matthew Koma – Dare You and Janelle Monae – Dance Apocalyptic both disappeared from Hit-Bound. Strange!

~ Zedd/Matthew Koma/Miriam Bryant – Find You aired twice on Hit-Bound. Also strange!

~ Naughty Boy/Sam Smith – La La La is on Hit-Bound. There are a few obnoxious points in the song. But other than that, it's pretty good.

~ Austin Mahone has released his 5th 6th 7th single already! It's called U. This is getting ridiculous. I am a Mahomie. But Austin is just releasing a new single before his previous can get any airplay on radio. I haven't heard Mmm Yeah yet on the radio and he already released the new single. Austin, you need to give your current single some time before you release the next.

~ Hunter Hayes – I Want Crazy took only 2 weeks to get from #44 #13.

~ Of course Jason Derulo – Talk Dirty moved the highest out of last week's entrants. If this song is really the most "wutchuwanted", then why don't you throw it to #1?

~ Everyone needs to go the Hits 1 homepage and vote for Hot Chelle Rae – Don't Say Goodnight so it can hit the countdown next week.

~ Calvin Harris/Ayah Marar – Thinking About You has been on Hit-Bound for a REALLY long time.

~ Avicii/Aloe Blacc – Wake Me Up is at risk if Aloe Blacc – The Man debuts next week.

~ My celebrity crushes (Hunter Hayes, Austin Mahone, and Chandler Riggs) didn't make my Valentines Day any better at all.

~ This Weeks Artist Of The Week: Hot Chelle Rae

~ Here are the Top 5 songs I listened to most this past week. (None are on the countdown)

1. Hot Chelle Rae – Don't Say Goodnight
2. Britney Spears – I Wanna Go
3. Rudimental/John Newman – Feel The Love
4. Fitz & The Tantrums – The Walker
5. Swedish House Mafia/John Martin – Save The World

~ Here are the Top 5 songs I listened to most YESTERDAY. (Again. None on countdown)

1. Rudimental/John Newman – Feel The Love
2. The Mowgli's – San Francisco
3. Maroon 5 – Love Somebody
4. OneRepublic – Feel Again
5. Bruno Mars – Just The Way You Are

~ I had a lot to say for a week with no new music.

My Top 5 Picks
1. John Newman – Love Me Again
2. Avicii/Dan Tyminski – Hey Brother
3. Panic! At The Disco – Miss Jackson
4. Eminem/Rihanna – The Monster
5. Demi Lovato – Neon Lights

Pitbull (5) – Week Of February 8, 2014

The Super Bowl was pretty disappointing. I think the Seahawks won with 43 – 8. The only thing I enjoyed about the Super Bowl was Bruno Mars’ halftime performance. Bruno Mars killed it. Before we get to this week’s Fresh 45, here are the songs were saying goodbye to this week.

  • Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – White Walls (#17)

  7. Katy Perry – Dark Horse (#13)
  6. Lorde – Team (#9)
  5. Eminem ft. Rihanna – The Monster (#3)
  4. Bastille – Pompeii (#7)
  3. One Direction – Story Of My Life (#10)
  2. OneRepublic – Counting Stars (#2)
  1. Pitbull ft. Ke$ha – Timber (#1) [5th Week At #1]

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Lady Gaga ft. R Kelly – Do What U Want (–23)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Cash Cash ft. Bebe Rexha – Take Me Home (+20)

New Entrants
~ For some reason, Hit-Bound refused to play Jason Derulo – Talk Dirty only 1 week. So they played it on Hit-Bound this week as well. Talk Dirty is a good song. I like every part besides that annoying instrument in the chorus. I especially like the end when the girl says, "What? I don't understand!"

~ Avicii ft. Dan Tyminski – Hey Brother is here to take over for Wake Me Up. Hey Brother is another Avicii song where he blends the dance with the folk. They actually go good together. Well done Avicii. You did it again. Now all we need to do is get this song to #1.

~ Demi Lovato – Neon Lights is no better than Heart Attack. But she can really hit those high notes. So this song deserves credit.

~ The debut of American Authors – Best Day Of My Life didn't surprise me. It had a huge amount of airplay this past week. It's a good song. Not much else to say about it.

~ Last and definitely least, we have Zendaya – Replay. I find this song annoying. Though I agree with the lyrics, this song just doesn't "wow" me. It's a complete waste of good lyrics.

Hey Blurber. There's an endless road to rediscover.
~ Hot Chelle Rae was this weekend's guest host. They also hosted Hit-Bound. While they were hosting Hit-Bound, they introduced their new song, Don't Say Goodnight. It premiered yesterday on The Morning Mash Up and topped the Wutchuwant Countdown. It is a fantastic song. My new favorite on Hit-Bound.

~ Lady Gaga ft. R Kelly – Do What U Want just got thrown to #44 pushing Hunter Hayes – I Want Crazy all the way to #25. WEIRD!!!

~ Pitbull ft. Ke$ha – Timber has reached what I call “Insta-Station Change”. Basically, what that means is when the song comes on the radio, I try to change the station as fast as I can.

~ Imagine Dragons – On Top Of The World is on Hit-Bound. Seems like Radioactive will have to leave soon. I don't know how it'll work if they had 3 songs on the countdown. Somehow, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Bruno Mars were able to do it though.

~ Speaking of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Can't Hold Us had a huge amount of airplay and appeared in many of the Wutchuwant Countdowns this past week. Yet I only heard White Walls once. So no surprise that it left. I'm glad it left. This makes Can't Hold Us superior to White Walls and Same Love. Fun Fact: White Walls debuted the same week as Flo Rida  How I Feel.

~ Lupe Fiasco ft. Ed Sheeran – Old School Love has a record for shortest tenure so far in 2014, lasting only 3 weeks.

~ Good riddance to Beyonce' – XO. Glad we're saying goodbye to some bad music.

~ Goodbye, Armin van Buuren ft. Trevor Guthrie – This Is What It Feels Like. You will be missed. :(

~ This Friday is Valentines Day. So get something for that special someone. I unfortunately have no special someone. But I hope to find a special someone this Valentines Day. (No. Not Austin Mahone. But I wish!)

~ Juicy J no longer exists in the Hits 1 version of Dark Horse. I'm just glad it's in the Top 10.

~ One Direction – Story Of My Life has hit its up-to-date peak at #3. I don't see this as a #1 song. But whatever.

~ Is it a bad thing that Matthew Koma is in two songs currently on Hit-Bound?

~ I joined the Wutchuwant Crew this past week. On the survey I took not that long ago, I said Timber was annoying and really old. But they clearly ignored what I said. I also said I love This Is What It Feels Like and it is not at all old. But they ignored that too!

~ Well Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark did it. It lasted a year. Now the question is can it break Maroon 5 – Payphone's record. Just 3 more weeks will do it.

~ As said in my previous post, Austin Mahone is my new celebrity crush.

My Top 5 Picks
1. John Newman – Love Me Again
2. Avicii ft. Dan Tyminski – Hey Brother
3. Eminem ft. Rihanna – The Monster
4. Jason Derulo – Talk Dirty
5. Katy Perry – Dark Horse

Top 5 Hit-Bound Songs
1. Hot Chelle Rae – Don't Say Goodnight
2. Aloe Blacc – The Man
3. Karmin – I Want It All
4. Jason Derulo – Talk Dirty
5. Oh Honey – Be Okay

Song Recommendations and Hit-Bound For 2/1/14

Sirius XM Hits 1 picks good music for their Weekend Countdown (some of the time anyway). But they don't pick all the hits that are currently popular. So here are the Top 10 songs recommended for The Weekend Countdown by Yours Truly.

1. Austin Mahone ft. Pitbull – Mmm Yeah
This song is fun to jam out to. And yes......Austin Mahone is my new celebrity crush! He is SO HOT!!! And he's 17! He's pretty young compared to Hunter Hayes, who's 22 years old. He's closer to my age. Not like we're ever gonna meet. But it can’t hurt to dream. Right? ^_^

2. Shakira ft. Rihanna – Can’t Remember To Forget You
Nice comeback from Shakira. Rihanna plays a good role too.

3. Paul McCartney – Queenie Eye
No Comment

4. Daughtry – Waiting For Superman
No Comment

5. Lifehouse ft. Natasha Bedingfield – Between The Raindrops
Only if this song can still debut.

6. Hunter Hayes – Invisible
What's up, my old celebrity crush? Are you glad or mad that you were replaced with Austin Mahone?

7. Maroon 5 – Lucky Strike
No Comment

8. Avicii ft. Adam Lambert and Nile Rodgers – Lay Me Down
Of course, it should debut after Hey Brother is done on the countdown.

9. Avril Lavigne ft. Chad Kroeger – Let Me Go
No Comment

10. Fitz & The Tantrums – The Walker
No Comment

Pitbull (4) – Week Of February 1, 2014

Hits 1 doesn't seem to have the slightest clue what real music is. I was okay with this song at #1 the first time. But this is getting ridiculous. Eminem and Rihanna deserve #1.   4. Imagine Dragons – Demons (#4)

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Olly Murs – Dance With Me Tonight (–14)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Paramore – Ain't It Fun (+14)

New Entrants
~ We got a re-entry from The 1975 – Chocolate. Not too happy about this re-entry. It's old. And it doesn't look like it'll be leaving any time soon. Whatever. I'll (try to) deal with it.

~ Our only new entrant for the second straight week is Cash Cash ft. Bebe Rexha – Take Me Home. Bebe Rexha's singing is okay in the verses. But it is fantastic in the chorus. Overall, the song is pretty good. We'd be better off having it around. Hits 1 seems to love Electronic/Dance music. Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Zedd, and now Cash Cash.

Give Me Those Old School Blurbs Right Now
~ The unexpected jump into the Top 5 from Sara Bareilles – Brave kind of surprised me. I'm not surprised about Lorde – Team and Bastille – Pompeii in the Top 10. But I never expected Brave to be a Top 5-er. But I'm not complaining.

~ The guest DJ who introduced Hunter Hayes – I Want Crazy said, "Here's that hottie Hunter Hayes – I Want Crazy." A person who calls Hunter Hayes and Austin Mahone hotties are like me. A person who doesn't call Justin Bieber a hottie, but calls Hunter and Austin hotties are just like me. Hunter and Austin are hotties.

~ I just realized Hits 1 cuts off a verse from Lupe Fiasco ft. Ed Sheeran – Old School Love.

~ Speaking of Ed Sheeran, he's a new dad! Sort of. He somehow saved this kitten. I don't know when, where, why, and how he did it. Well maybe I know why. Ed's a nice guy. Of course he'd save that kitten from whatever danger it was in.

~ The Wanted broke up because of One Direction rivalry. That's stupid. Sure One Direction gets more popularity. But The Wanted makes better music. Goodbye The Wanted. I loved all your music. Songs like Glad You Came, Chasing The Sun, I Found You, and We Own The Night were all great songs.

~ If Katy Perry ft. Juicy J – Dark Horse doesn't get in the Top 10, I'm gonna be so confused. So get it in there.

~ Yes, the rumors are true. I like A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera – Say Something. The music video is beautiful. When you guys have the chance, you should check it out.

~ Reader Dylan George is the only person I know who actually liked Lorde's performance last week on The Grammy's.

~ After The Grammy's, I've been constantly listening to Paul McCartney – Queenie Eye. It's a great song! Can it still debut? If it can, please do.

~ Fall Out Boy – My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark is one week away from lasting a year on the countdown. Do I want that to happen? NO! It's nowhere near good enough to have the honor of lasting a year on this countdown. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – Can't Hold Us however is good enough to have the honor. So I would like Can't Hold Us to last a year on the countdown.

~ Pitbull ft. Ke$ha – Timber is now the worst song on the countdown. So Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – White Walls got a free pass. Seriously, who is voting for Timber? That song is not good enough to last 4 weeks at #1. It's not even #1 material. Eminem ft. Rihanna – The Monster is definitely #1 material. So I'm gonna try this again. It seems like Eminem ft. Rihanna – The Monster can be a #1 song in the near future. If not, I'll have a heart attack and it won't be funny. Somehow, music with Rihanna in it, whether it's her song or if she's featured, can never be a #1 song. Even though I voted for this song at least 100 times during the week, Hits 1 keeps the obnoxious Timber at #1. Annoying! Don't stop voting for this song.

~ Olly Murs – Dance With Me Tonight seems like it will be leaving soon. This is its second straight week have the Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week.

~ Selena Gomez and Austin Mahone are dating. I'm just glad she's not dating Justin Bieber. Austin Mahone is a nice guy and a hottie. (I already said that didn't I?)

~ Speaking of Austin Mahone, I would love to see Austin Mahone ft. Pitbull – Mmm Yeah debut the countdown. Make it happen.

~ Spyder Harrison actually had Hayley Williams as a guest DJ to introduce Ain't It Fun.

~ Hits 1 sent me a Wutchuwant survey this past week. They basically asked me questions like "What would you change about the Morning Mash Up?" or "What would you change about weekday airplay?" or "What do you like best about Hits 1?" And then they asked for my opinion on a bunch of songs. Even though I said Pitbull ft. Ke$ha – Timber was "very old", they made it #1 anyway. And they never asked me about Macklemore and Ryan Lewis – White Walls. I would've said "I Hate It". But they refused to ask me about that song.

~ Tomorrow is the Super Bowl! I really only watch for the commercials. I don't really care about the game. Sports isn't my thing.

1st Place: Avicii ft. Dan Tyminski – Hey Brother

2nd Place: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis ft. Mary Lambert and Madonna – Same Love
