New Entrants
~ We have a re-entry from Ed Sheeran – Castle On The Hill, coming a little sooner than expected. So that leaves us with two new songs.
~ The return of AJR has never appealed to me. Out of all their songs, they've only had one that I don't consider bad. They're definitely not on my good side. But honestly, they have good ideas and their writing skills are decent. It's mainly the production that kills them and that's exactly what kills Weak. The writing on this track isn't bad. But my goodness is the production quite annoying, especially in the chorus. And honestly, do we really need those obnoxious background vocal effects in the second half of the chorus? I'd like to think no. But I feel like this has been consistent in all of their songs and it's doing them no good. I don't anticipate any future releases from these guys. But if they do release more, I hope they do something a little different.
~ Next we have the return of Zedd after 2015's Beautiful Now featuring countdown artist Jon Bellion. That song landed itself the #12 spot on my Top 45 of 2015, proving itself to be one of Zedd's best songs along with Clarity and Stay The Night. So there's a lot of competition to top. He debuts with Stay featuring Alessia Cara. I definitely think this song starts off strong and continues right through the chorus, which is probably my favorite part of the song. But I personally was expecting a little bit more out of that drop. It doesn't do too much for me. But I do believe that the rest of the song is on point. It's just the drop that I'm not fully on board with. But at the very least, it is not on the mediocre level that Starving currently is on. So that's good.
Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:
#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: One Direction – Perfect

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:
- Flo Rida/99 Percent – Cake
- Little Mix – Touch
- James Hersey – Miss You
- Panic! At The Disco – L.A. Devotee
- Calvin Harris/Frank Ocean/Migos – Slide (DEBUT)
- Imagine Dragons – Believer
- Ariana Grande/Future – Everyday
- The Vamps/Matoma – All Night
- Coin – Talk Too Much (DEBUT)
- Snakehips/MØ – Don't Leave
- MAX/Gnash – Lights Down Low
- Clean Bandit/Sean Paul/Anne-Marie – Rockabye
- One Ok Rock – American Girls (DEBUT)
- The Chainsmokers/Coldplay – Something Just Like This
~ Slide is unlike anything I've ever heard from Calvin Harris, and I mean that in a good way. Production-wise, it's a HUGE step up from the mediocre This Is What You Came For. I'm not completely on board with the vocals, but they're certainly not bad. It's actually better than the extremely repetitive "you-ooo-ooo-oo-oooo" from This Is What You Came For. But as far as the production goes, I genuinely believe that the production on this track is dope. For whatever reason, that just seems like the perfect word to describe it.
~ Talk Too Much doesn't grab my interest very much. American Girls is actually pretty catchy. I can't really see it becoming a massive hit, but I enjoy it for what it is.
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. The Chainsmokers/Coldplay – Something Just Like This
2. Clean Bandit/Sean Paul/Anne-Marie – Rockabye
3. The Vamps/Matoma – All Night
4. MAX/Gnash – Lights Down Low
5. Panic! At The Disco – L.A. Devotee
Blurbs On The Hill
~ Starving is back in the Top 5. How amazing.
~ We have two new entrants into the Top 10 this week. That's What I Like is the one I'm not too thrilled about. I still find the song quite annoying. However, Chained To The Rhythm is much more pleasing to see. I can already see this one being a massive hit and I can't wait to see how it does.
~ For the highest debut last week, Kygo/Selena Gomez – It Ain't Me only jumped one spot this week. I get that it's kind of hard to make a big jump when you debut in the Top 20. But one spot? Seriously?
~ We are now at a point where slow and strange Rihanna ballads that don't sound good at all are actually doing decent. C'mon Hits 1. You underrate a lot of her good songs and now that I actually want one underrated, it starts to do well.
~ Not gonna lie, that drop from Jon Bellion – All Time Low came quite unexpectedly. I can't say I'm very pleased by that.
~ X Ambassadors – Unsteady took quite the stumble down into the Bottom 5 this week. We are getting close to the one-year anniversary of this song being around. Strange pick if I'm being honest. But this could very well be one of the very rare occasions in which a song that never reached the Top 5 lasts a full year.
~ As far as the exits go, Greenlight I didn't care for. Kids had a very nice and successful run and I'm glad it did well. You're Not There was for sure underrated and I'm not too pleased by that. It is similar to 7 Years in a way. But apparently it did not chart similarly. In fact, their songs have only been getting more underrated with time. It seems as though 7 Years will the band's only hit.
~ The Hit 45 Chart for the week of March 4 is being worked on and will hopefully be out sometime today.

Sorry that trolls and cyberbullies have taken over this blog. I never expected this to get this bad. Nice post though and I was gonna recommend that song actually, it's really good. Minus 20 for a top 20 review is rough. And I'm glad that It Ain't Me is close to your top 5 picks. The AT40 is out so I don't need to list the breakouts. And the new z100 entrants are Swalla and Thumbs. I will say that HandClap left and Dancing On My Own is still there. And thanks for the birthday wishes, .!
ReplyDeleteHey there! Happy birthday (=
DeleteOh right, I forgot it's Graham's birthday! Will there be a super special awesome birthday post though?
DeleteYou will like being a teenager, as you can go to specific social media sites like Facebook.
DeleteThanks Scott! And probably not because I don't have time. And I already have many social media sites and I've had them for like 2 years honestly.
DeleteI recently saw a prediction on the top 20 for next week's Hot 100 top 20.
ReplyDeletehttp://pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/165819/billboard-hot-100-03-2017?page=1
Can Closer really stick around the top 10 for another week, tying the all time record with How Do I Live by LeAnn Rimes?
Miles, the chance of that happening is like nothing.
DeleteHow do you know then Mr. Smartass?
Deletehttp://www.kworb.net/airadio/
ReplyDeleteGreen Light just dropped big time down 17 spots! 7.5 million in it's audience gone!
Popular songs always do that about one to two weeks after it starts to get big on radio. It'll get back up soon.
DeleteLet's just hope it doesn't end up meeting the same fate as the trilogy of pop diva returns we had last year (I'm sure you can guess which three songs I speak of).
DeleteLet me guess, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, (Despite what's happening with her newest song) and Lady Gaga (Despite that it may be a hit after all(
DeleteTHIRD!

*March 11, 2017 lol...
DeleteAnd I'll change my biggest jump prediction to Weak.
I don't see Talk Too Much leaving Hit-Bound. I don't see Heavy having the biggest drop either.
DeleteBut it didn't air at all.
DeleteYes, this is a lot better because we now don't have to worry about Chase anymore.
ReplyDeleteWait, Everyday in red? NOOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteI do respect your opinion.
DeleteIf I do say, I'm surprised that the title track didn't stick with you in the long run but the song with Future you're actually liking.
DeleteApparently now you comment has to be approved...
ReplyDeleteYou'd know that if you read the post.
DeleteLol.
DeleteYes you will.....
DeleteThis IS Stupid. I do not wanna this Comment section to be torn into pieces, but i want to have freedom of what i say and do not want it monitored. Find some other, it might even need to go somewhere else so it can be the main section. If you're gonna be mean. Fine. I'll just have fun on my blog. What i'm saying is... DELETE THIS MONITOR THING!!!
DeleteI'm starting to get used to this monitor thing.
DeleteOh BTW, with this approval thingy, I have to wait later than 3 am till I know the exits.
DeleteBecause of this, I will now FOR SURE log in to my Sirius XM Hits 1 app and listen to them myself.
DeleteI kind of agree with Daniel. I don't like it because I know Adrian doesn't spend 24/7 checking his e-mail for comments to be approved, and some of us are impatient to have our comments approved. But I do like how that means we won't have to deal with Chase and this anonymous person bothering us. It's kind of a double edged sword any way you put it.
Delete#40Friday news:
ReplyDelete2 debuts, but NO exits! The chart will be undergoing an expansion to 50 songs. Since two songs hopped on the chart, there will be 42 songs this week.
Not a new music alert, but Pitbull and Camila Cabello teamed up for a song for the coming Furious film. Apparently the video just dropped.
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard the song yet, but ho boy. Those two names are sure to cause some infamy here.
I heard about that already. That soundtrack is gonna be LIT! I'm anxiously waiting for it to drop. Except I can't reveal my opinion on the new Lil Uzi Vert song from it yet because of various COAEP-related reasons.
DeletePlease let the movie be a flop! 7 was too much back in 2015, this is just obnoxious for an 8th.
DeleteAdrian, what's your opinion on Green Light if you've listened to it.
ReplyDeleteSup guys. Been a long time since I was here. Just wanted to say hi. I'll be back next week with some comments.
ReplyDeleteProfile pic changed.
ReplyDeleteWell, i though i did...
DeleteSince Anshul returned, now we need people like Trance, Remy, Thatchos, Dylan, and many others to return.
ReplyDelete^
DeleteActually Dylan did return, he's posting on his top 40 chart blog.
DeleteI doubt Thatchos, Remy, and Trance are gonna return. But I believe Dylan still posts on his blog, which can be found on .'s blog list.
DeleteI think that Trance will return whenever he finds out how to log in his google account.
DeleteBTW, Trance isn't commenting because he can't log into his google account.
ReplyDeleteYou don't need a google account, though, to comment. Adrian still has it so that anonymous users can still comment.
DeleteGood job with the post Adrian and sorry mine is late, it just got out. I had a hella busy week!
ReplyDeleteCharlie XCX released her new Album, Number 1 Angel today if you didn't know.
ReplyDeleteIt was a mixtape and it didn't feature After the Afterparty.
DeleteI did see on iTunes. And it doesn't have After The Afterparty, oddly (although I'm not complaining there).
DeleteSo, who noticed that Nicki Minaj has three tracks in the Top 5 on iTunes currently? Including one with Drake, which... Oh my god, if that one hits #1, I swear to god.
ReplyDeleteThis week is apparently going to another boring week. March 18, on the other hand, needs to be awesome.
ReplyDelete#40Friday (or #42Friday) is out! What is this week's #1? Read to find out!
ReplyDeletehttp://40friday.blogspot.com/2017/03/march-10-2017.html
Last week's COAEP is out with a new #1 song! This week's is being worked on.
ReplyDeletehttp://chilloutandeatpizza.blogspot.com/2017/03/chill-out-and-eat-pizza-week-of-3417.html
BBH100 out! And I like this monitor thing a lot. It's so calm and stops spamming. The only thing it's not good for is advertising.
ReplyDeleteI don't even see a comment from Chase here. Adrian has probably disapproved all his comments.
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly, he hasn't commented anything yet.
DeleteHmm, now that is particularly odd.
Delete^
DeleteMost likely Everday will debut soon or next week perhaps...it irritates me that Hits 1 underrated so many songs!! Touch should debut on the countdown not Everyday!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I want Eveyday to debut and not Touch.
DeleteI want Touch to debut. I wouldn't care if Everyday debuted.
DeleteEveryday is a decent song but Touch is a better song vocally and production wise! Don't get me wrong Ariana has amazing vocals but she doesn't showcase them in Everyday....
DeleteExit: x39. Guys My Age
ReplyDeleteLove on the Brain drops 19 to #40
Adrian is going to love this week.
Wow, because of the comment approval, there are absoutely no comments about the countdown.
ReplyDeleteWow, Say You Won't Let Go is now back in the 1st hour after that enoumous jump from the other week.
ReplyDeleteLove On The Brain dropped to #40. :/
ReplyDeleteAnd I believe that Guys My Age left will Miss You debuted at #38.

DeleteAdrian, what is your bottom 5 for WC?
ReplyDeleteI am working on my Hot 45 Chart. I hope Scott enjoys my #1 song this week.
ReplyDeleteI knew the instant that I saw this comment what that #1 is.
DeletePlease approve our comments. I really don't know what the countdown looks like.
ReplyDeleteThank you for approving them. What took you so long?
DeleteWeekend mornings I typically like to sleep in.
DeleteOh, okay.
DeleteCOAEP so far:
ReplyDelete- 2 exits, both from the bottom 5.
- Both of the entrants are by three or more artists. Also, one artist is featured in both of them.

BREAKING NEWS: Drake has finally announced the release date of his playlist More Life: March 18. I AM SO HYPED!!
ReplyDeleteNO, NO, NOO!!!!! I DON'T NEED ANYMORE DRAKE AFTER VIEWS FROM LAST YEAR!!!!! I'LL DIE FROM HAVING TO REVIEW EVERY SINGLE SONG ON THE HOT 100!!!!!!
DeleteHere's how Adrian would handle this week's chart (see http://countdownguyblog.blogspot.ca/2017/03/ed-sheeran-5-march-11-2017.html), with a rating system I made up:
ReplyDelete-5: Worst Song(s) on the Countdown: N/A
0: Crap: N/A
1: Bad: N/A
2: Mediocre: N/A
3: Decent: 18
4: Good: 14, 11, 3
5: Great: The rest of the chart
10: Best Song(s) on the countdown: I Feel it Coming
New Music:
ReplyDeleteLorde – Liability
Nicki Minaj – No Fraud
Vice/Jon Bellion – Obsession
Jon Bellion/Stormzy – All Time Low
Charli XCX/MØ – Pull Up
X Ambassadors – Hoping
Pentatonix – Imagine
Little Mix/Kid Ink – Touch

The Nicki Minaj song is No Frauds, and it features Drake and Lil Wayne. Trap Trap Trap features Young Thug and Wale also. Both songs are really good though.
DeleteSay, Miles, if you're seeing this, remember that Halston Wirt guy that you and I have both seen the blog of? And how Ride was initially his #3 most hated hit song of 2016? Well...let's just say his opinion took a MASSIVE jump from one end of the spectrum to the other.
ReplyDeleteNot only that, but he's started his Top 20 Best #1 Songs of the 2000s lineup.
I saw that months ago.
DeleteAnd thanks, I just saw it about 5 minutes ago.
New post out!
ReplyDeletehttp://countdownmania.blogspot.com/2017/03/top-10-migos-metro-boomin-and-lil-uzi.html
Hi Adrian,I see you are blocking Chase's comments and only posting them upon approval of them. I'm guessing you're doing this as a result of the pressure you got from some of the other bloggers.
ReplyDeleteI know Chase personally. I've read the blogs, I know he can annoy some of the other bloggers with some of his comments. I can tell you a few things about him. He does have autism, so some of his replies seem a bit off. He also really loves music, and is quite knowledgeable about songs and the artists that perform them. And another thing, despite very negative way a lot of the guys on the blog treat him, he considers all of you his friends. Even Miles who hates his guts. It really hurt him when he saw that he was being blocked.
I can see that you and some of the others have more compassion than a few of the others, and I hope that you will consider what I've said in the future when thinking about blocking him or saying the very harsh things that I've seen some of the other bloggers say about him or to him.
Thank you.
Then explain why a number of songs he loves, he immediately hates over just a couple of months, more than the rest of us.
DeleteI 100% believe you on all of this. However, it's not Chase we're all worried about blocking: It's the anonymous troller that is cyberbullying him. That's the main reason why Adrian turned on comment moderation. I was definitely hurt when seeing what kind of things that anonymous was saying to Chase, and I tried to get him to stop. I think Miles can be a little harsh, too, although it's mainly the anonymous. But I certainly believe you.
DeleteI don't think this was about Chase, it was about the anonymous troll. You can see his comments from last post.
DeleteAlso, if you do know Chase personally, I would like to make an apology if I've said anything that hurt him. In my unpublished rant post against the anonymous troll, I said "...I don't want to mess up my future. Now that cyberbullying is more common today, I don't want to make a mean comment and mess up my life or a graduation into college. I want my school and future college staff to recognize me as a nice person which I truly am most of the time. If I came to this comments section and there was no trolling, I'd just be nice to everyone. Since there is trolling [anonymous troll], everyone here has to do something about this. In fact, I'm confused on how people go this long without interfering in the fight." A few months ago I didn't know if Chase was a troll or a real man with autism but I just couldn't take it. I'm really sorry about this.
Delete^^^^^^
DeleteHonestly, sometimes when he replies awkwardly, I just try to go along with it and reply awkwardly as well. And yeah, it's not Chase who he's worried about. It's the anonymous trolled. And a few months ago I thought that he was a troll because he cursed on my blog and removed the comment which I've never seen him do. But I think that he got it from the troll who hacked Parker's account as he had a profile pic like that. But now I realize he's not a troll. And I figured that he had autism from his YouTube channel.
I appreciate your insight and the fact that were able to figure all that out, Graham. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteGreen Light just dropped 29 spots out of the top 75!
over 12 million in it's initial audience lost, and 1,000+ Spins annihilated!
It's fine with me. I think I'd rate Green Light like...a 8.3/10. So yeah. Does this mean that Green Light was never meant to become a hit?

Hey everyone...it's seems most of y'all in this commenting section know of each other. Adrain I really love your blog and the time you take to do your reviews of the countdown! I'm a new Whatuwant Member, however, I have been visiting this blog for about a year or so more or less...Keep it up Adrain!!! Also if you want to find me I don't have a blog, I don't have time for that, but I do have a private Instagram solely for music...👍🏼
ReplyDeleteThank you. I appreciate all positive feedback I get. :)
DeleteCool! I'll follow you if you want.
DeleteHi Matthew V.
DeleteP!nk, and Sia have a new collab that will be on the stargate soundtrack.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8UtmRLLkHg
And Miles, Sheryl Crow has a new song:
https://www.youtube.com/user/Sherylcrow
So I just watched the video for Weak.
ReplyDeleteTakes place on a deserted train with the other members of the band appearing during the chorus. I don't know if it's supposed to go with the song's theme of easily giving in or not, maybe some kind of drug. But that ending...kinda came out of nowhere.
My countdown post for this week is out!
ReplyDeleteWow, I want to check it out!!!
DeleteI will have a shorter schedule in Senior year to make it easier.
ReplyDeleteSame. But I'm not a senior, though. I have to wait three more years in order to have that happening.
DeleteOh, so you're a freshman?
DeleteI'm just reminding Miles and Parker to vote on the competition on my blog if they want to stay in.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think I wanna stay in, I got bored with it once I started watching more and more of Yu-Gi-Oh.
DeleteSpeaking of which, expect an April Fool's post to be completely random and full of quotes.
I know, I know. I got the first one and the bonus question, but the second is practically impossible. I'm assuming there are no incorrect facts because no one's mentioned them.
DeleteThe bonus question is really easy.
DeleteParker, take the top 5, exit the one who'se artist DOES have a song on billboard currently, exit the artists who didn't have other songs besides this on billboard. Now you're down to the 2. Look up the 2 songs music videos and the one with less views(You can find that down at the right to the video) is your answer.
DeleteHot 45 Stats:
ReplyDelete-#1 Song That Scott hates
-Biggest jump of 18 spots
-5 debuts and 5 exits
-A particular song didn't debut this week but has a good chance of debuting at #1 next week.
My countdown post is out.
ReplyDeleteSo, I know me, Graham, Chase, and . are all going to be under a winter storm warning because of a storm that could send up to a foot or more along the northeast.
ReplyDeleteDamn, y'all are having another snowstorm? We've barely gotten any snow here this year.
DeleteYup. It's kinda surprising that this happens in mid-March though.
DeleteAnd me. It's supposed to hit on Tuesday and Wednesday. But we'll be leaving for Florida on Wednesday evening, so hopefully most of it will have melted away when we return Monday night.
DeleteFrom where I live, we had huge rainstorms a few weeks ago.
DeleteWC out!

DeleteYou're welcome.
DeleteIs it just me or has Zedd been kinda going downhill with his music lately. To me the last great song Zedd was on was Candyman and that was over a year ago. Ignite was pretty decent.... But never picked up any traction though.
ReplyDeleteI still like his music, and I'm really enjoying Stay now.
DeleteTo me, stay sounds like an only slightly better version of Closer. Stay isn't neccisarily bad, but the problem is Zedd can do better and he has
DeleteAm I the only one who actually likes Kid Kelly's voice? I know that Adrian isn't a huge fan of him based on how fast he talks, but I like his enthusiasm, even if he's not Spyder. One of the intros he gave that I found entertaining was before introducing Starboy when he said that The Weeknd and Selena Gomez sounded like they were planning a wedding and that he felt like they were taking it kinda fast. Reminds me of back in November when Spyder mentioned how Ariana Grande and Mac Miller were potentially talking a wedding and even kids and that he was like "whoa, slow down a bit". Oh, celebrity relationships.
ReplyDeleteAlso, all this talk about Chase makes me bring up this totally random fact that has nothing to do with anything here: just yesterday, while playing Pokémon Black 2, I encountered a Pilot in the Mistralton Gym named Chase. Again, that has nothing to do with this but I found it kinda funny.
His voice is fine.
DeleteI completely agree with the first part.
DeleteMy heart's a stereo
ReplyDeleteIt beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
If I was just another dusty record on the shelf
Would you blow me off and play me like everybody else
If I ask you to scratch my back, could you manage that
Like it read well, check it Travie, I can handle that
Furthermore, I apologize for any skipping tracks
It's just the last girl that played me left a couple cracks
I used to used to used to used to, now I'm over that
'Cause holding grudges over love is ancient artifacts
If I could only find a note to make you understand
I'd sing it softly in your ear and grab you by the hand
Keep it stuck inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart's a stereo that only plays for you
My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh so sing along to my stereo, let's go
If I was an old-school, fifty pound boom box
Would you hold me on your shoulder, wherever you walk
Would you turn my volume up in front of the cops
And crank it higher every time they told you to stop
And all I ask is that you don't get mad at me
When you have to purchase mad D batteries
Appreciate every mix tape your friends make
You never know we come and go like we're on the interstate
I think finally found a note to make you understand
If you can hit it, sing along and take me by the hand
Keep myself inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart's a stereo that only plays for you
My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh so sing along to my stereo, let's go
I only pray you never leave me behind (Never leave me)
Because good music can be so hard to find (So hard to find)
I take your hand and pull it closer to mine
Thought love was dead, but now you're changing my mind
My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh so sing along to my stereo
Love it !

So now Closer is at an historic moment, as it ties with LeAnn Rimes How Do I Live for most weeks in the top 10.

ReplyDeleteThis Week in Billboard Chart History: In 1996, Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men Scored a Record 16th Week at No. 1
ReplyDeleteThe ballad wrapped its unequaled run atop the Hot 100. Plus, remembering feats by Carrie Underwood, The Beatles & Belinda Carlisle.
March 13, 1976
The 4 Seasons topped the Billboard Hot 100 with "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)." In 1994, a remixed version of the song rose to No. 14.
March 14, 1987
Big news! On this date 30 years ago, Huey Lewis & The News logged their third (and most recent) No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, "Jacob's Ladder." The song was written by Lewis' good friend Bruce Hornsby and Bruce's brother John (with Bruce Hornsby and the Range releasing their own version in 1988). Lewis & The News had previously led with "The Power of Love" in 1985 and "Stuck With You" in 1986.
March 15, 2008
Carrie Underwood (who celebrated her birthday March 10) topped the Hot Country Songs chart with "All-American Girl," her fifth of 14 career No. 1s to date.
March 16, 1996
A record week for Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men: Their "One Sweet Day" spent its 16th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, wrapping the longest reign by any song in the chart's history. Seven hits are tied for second with 14 weeks at No. 1 apiece – including one each by Carey and Boyz II Men: her "We Belong Together" (2005) and their "I'll Make Love to You" (1994).
March 17, 1990
Randy Travis picked up in the '90s right where he left off in the '80s: at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, as the pop-flavored "Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart" hit the top, becoming his 11th of 16 career No. 1s.
March 18, 1967
The Beatles scored their first of three Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s in 1967, as "Penny Lane" strolled to the top. "All You Need Is Love" and "Hello Goodbye" would also reign before the end of the year, with all songs contributing to the Fab Four's record 20 career Hot 100 toppers.
March 19, 1988
Belinda Carlisle's Diane Warren-penned "I Get Weak" rose to its No. 2 Billboard Hot 100 peak. It marked Carlisle's third visit to the top two: as part of the Go-Go's, she reached No. 2 in in 1982 with "We Got the Beat," while in 1987 she topped the chart with her own "Heaven Is a Place on Earth." Carlisle has announced that she'll release a new solo album, Wilder Shores, in October.
So, update on the storm. I will have no school tomorrow, and because of this I may release my BBH100 post tomorrow as well. secondly, my area was bombarded by 1-2 feet or more of snow, and shoveling to get the cars out is already proving to be an absolute nightmare. Just stay indoors for everyone in the northeast for the next day or 2.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually been raining here. It snowed/sleeted earlier in the day but it turned to rain, which flooded some roads. I hope my school is closed tomorrow, but that will probably not happen.
DeleteStill no snow in my area, but it is freezing, and I haven't had track the past 2 days. I'm leaving for Washington, DC, on Friday, so hopefully the snow will clear up by then.
Delete2-hour delayed opening for me.
Delete.: You live in Long Island, it must be different there, since I live farther west of you.
DeleteParker: You live in Tennessee, there' a reason you didn't get snow.
We got a lot of snow on Saturday though, but it melted really fast. There's rumors that we're getting more, but I doubt they're true.
DeleteI heard over the local news stations, apparently we broke the old records of '93 and '98. This storm broke the records of the previous storms over the past 20+ years, that is insane.

ReplyDeleteTo those who haven’t signed up for my competition…..I’m not going to try to beg you on signing up, but could anyone who hasn’t signed up please do so? It’s only going to take like 3 seconds to sign up and for those of you who don’t know what the competition is about, it’s kind of like Graham’s 60K PVS with that I will provide everyone clues to guess a song. In summary, there are a total of 5 rounds with clues to guess 8 songs (2 tiers of 4 songs). The first song in each tier is easier so it’s only worth one point. The other three songs in each tier are harder so they’re worth two points. You only have one guess for each song, but as there’s only one song possible for each it’s still possible to get the maximum score possible at the end, which is 70 points. Also, there is no elimination going into rounds so if you thought there would be now you know that there isn’t. There might be prizes for the top winners. Here’s the people that I thought would like to do it but hasn’t signed up yet:
ReplyDeleteParker Scott
Miles Washcalus
Jack Farrell
Alex Wooden
Sasha
Scott Rohrbeck
And here’s the people that already signed up (reply if I missed you):
DanielESmoines
Lukas
SliderontheBack
.
Graham Badenhausen
Adrian Carrazco
Chase (is this seriously Chase?)
That is if you didn’t know what my PVS Part 2 was about. Also, if you’re still in Graham’s competition, remember that this won’t start until April so you have time.
Thanks!
-Mark
I signed up just now.
DeleteI will join.
DeleteCan you update the countdown please?
ReplyDeleteI will as soon as I can. Tomorrow would be ideal, but I can't guarantee anything.

ReplyDeleteCLOSER AT #4?!? This might be the biggest song of the decade.
DeleteAlso, as you all can see, Parker is the first reply. :P
I left a comment too, but there wasn't a whole lot for me to say because the images weren't showing up well on the computer I typed on.
