I guess this week can be considered better in some ways. But it can also be considered worse in other ways, like maybe our #1 song. Yesterday was my brother's birthday. So today we went to see the new animated film, Zootopia. It's a very good movie. I definitely recommend it. I can already see it winning awards for Best Animated Film. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

New Entrants
~ Having the highest debut of the week, we have Lukas Graham – 7 Years. This song is only okay to me. It doesn't really seem like anything too special (disregarding the fact that it's currently #1 on iTunes). Sure, it's a sweet song and all. But it just doesn't catch my attention.
~ Continuing with this never-ending train of singles from 1989, Taylor Swift debuts with New Romantics. This is one of the better songs from the album. It's better than Style and Wildest Dreams. I like it now. It's fun to jam out to. But I can see myself getting sick of it soon. We'll see how long this song can last.
~ Rihanna debuted this week. The last time we heard from her was FourFiveSeconds from about a year ago. That song was okay, I guess. But her new single, Work, is just straight up bad. It features Drake and frankly, he makes the song worse. I don't understand what people like about this song. It has that same sound as most of the hip-hop/rap trash we've suffered through all throughout 2015. When comparing this to Rihanna and Drake's previous #1 collaboration, What's My Name?, it's pretty clear which song is the superior one. When comparing not only this new song, but Rihanna's new album as a whole, to some of her previous stuff like Good Girl Gone Bad, Rated R, Loud, and Talk That Talk, there's a huge difference. I get that she's trying something new and experimenting different sounds. I appreciate that. But it does not work at all on songs like Work. I mean come on, you can't even understand 75% of what she's saying. All I hear is "Work, work, work, work, work, work" like 20 times. At some point it sounds like complete gibberish. The lyrics are stupid. The production is extremely lazy. Pretty much everything about this song does not work. What makes it worse is that I've always been a fan of Rihanna and her music. I have loved a huge chunk of her music. But Work is a huge disappointment. Her album, Anti, is not good either. There's probably like 2 good songs on there. That's it. I really hope Rihanna does not think this trashy sound is good for another whole album in the future.
~ The best entrant this week comes from Pitbull with his single, El Taxi. I think the beat is really catchy. The song itself is very different and interesting. I've been enjoying it for quite a while now. I'm curious as to how this song will do on this countdown.
7 Blurbs
~ We got rid of some trash this week. So that's good. Like I'm Gonna Lose You and Shut Up and Dance were long overdue. Moments was pretty floppy anyway. I actually still like New Americana. I don't know what it is that makes it so catchy that I, for whatever reason, don't get sick of it.
~ Justin Bieber – Love Yourself made it into the Top 5 much faster than Sorry did. Let's see if this song can do something Sorry was really close to doing: hit #1. Sorry, on the other hand, took a little tumble this week. I still really enjoy it, but I'm fine with it dropping.
~ Can we not with Selena Gomez – Hands To Myself in the Top 10? Selena Gomez's music has seriously not been good lately. That Top 10 entrant isn't very welcome. However, the Top 10 entry from Rachel Platten – Stand By You is very welcome.
~ Troye Sivan – Youth clearly isn't as good in Hits 1's eyes as it is in mine's. Are you guys really gonna make it have a floppy tenure like Tove Lo – Moments and Tori Kelly – Hollow? It's a really catchy song, so it should be having more success than this.
~ Our One Direction songs in the Top 3 need to seriously move down. Perfect should not be #1 at this point anymore and Drag Me Down shouldn't even be on the countdown anymore at this point.
~ The results for Round 4 of the Song Wars is out and the voting survey for Round 5 is up as well. Both links can be found under the tab labeled "2015/2016 Song Wars" on the right-hand side. You guys have until next Saturday to vote for Round 5.
~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Twenty One Pilots can hold at #1 for a second week in a row with Stressed Out.

Most Missed Countdown Song: Linkin Park/Steve Aoki – A Light That Never Comes
#1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Hailee Steinfeld/DNCE – Rock Bottom
My Top 5 Picks
1. Ellie Goulding – Something In The Way You Move
2. Justin Bieber – Love Yourself
3. Coldplay – Adventure Of A Lifetime
4. Pitbull/Osmani Garcia/Lil Jon – El Taxi
5. Justin Bieber – Sorry
Earlier this week, I began a new series where I count down the Top 10 songs from different artists. I did Justin Bieber and Kesha because their birthdays had just past. Chris Martin's birthday was also this past week (Wednesday). So I thought I would count down my Top 10 favorite songs from Coldplay. Coldplay is pretty much my favorite band. So picking only 10 songs I love from them was rather difficult. But I managed to do it. So here they are:
10. Princess Of China (feat. Rihanna) (from "Mylo Xyloto")
9. Hymn For The Weekend (from "A Head Full Of Dreams")
8. Charlie Brown (from "Mylo Xyloto")
7. Yellow (from "Parachutes")
6. The Scientist (from "A Rush Of Blood To The Head")
5. Viva La Vida (from "Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends")
4. Fix You (from "X & Y")
3. Violet Hill (from "Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends")
2. In My Place (from "A Rush Of Blood To The Head")
1. Paradise (from "Mylo Xyloto")
Honorable Mentions: A Sky Full Of Stars (Ghost Stories), Clocks (A Rush Of Blood To The Head), Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Mylo Xyloto), Adventure Of A Lifetime (A Head Full Of Dreams)
So those were my Top 10 favorite songs from my favorite band of all time, Coldplay. I hope you enjoyed. :)

First.
ReplyDeletePerfect is in red?
ReplyDeleteIt's really annoying. Partially because it hit #1 again this week, which really wasn't necessary.
DeleteAnd your blurb section title is the same as mine.
ReplyDeleteDid you actually have seven blurbs like I did?
DeleteNvm. I just read your post.
DeleteWhy is Confident in red?
ReplyDeleteWhy is Irresistible in pink?
Why is Moments in red?
Why did CBTO, ITN, Ex's And Oh's, and OMM not turn red?
Why has Get Ugly been in blue for its ENTIRE tenure?
As for my personal life, I went to Camp Side Kick today. I learned how to use nunchucks, learned some self defense, and even broke a board. I had the best time
- Confident has become really annoying.
Delete- Irresistible is getting old.
- Moments became way too uninteresting that it's now kinda bad.
- Because I don't exactly hate them yet. But they're close.
- I never listen to it and it rarely comes on the radio when I'm in the car, so my opinion has yet to change lol.
Very odd that you dislike a Rhianna song, Adrian. I, personally, love this new style of RiRi's. Adding Drake is, in actuality, the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteCan we make Perfect leave please? I'm sick of that song.
I'm actually sick of a lot of songs that Adrian put in red, excluding One Call Away. That song, I still love.
Good riddance to Shut Up And Dance. Old AF, that song was.
I like this idea of the Top Ten Songs. Maybe I should do that...
Oh sh*t, my phone charger just broke. God darn it. Lol
Oh and Hello and Good To Be Alive I also like.
DeleteI find it odd that I dislike a Rihanna song too. But this new style just does not work for me.
DeleteAdrian, what's your opinion on Bitch Better Have My Money, Rihanna's last song from 2015?
DeleteThat song was pretty catchy. It did not have this new trashy hip-hop/rap sound to it. I thought it was stupid at first, but it was actually interesting and catchy. The lyrics make little to no sense, which is why the song isn't amazing. But it was good and it was something I jammed out to for a little while.
DeleteAdrian liked that song, but I personally hated it.
DeleteActually, BBHMM is a trap/hip-hop song, but even I like it. The lyrics are ridiculous, there instrumentals are great, and Rihanna's vocals are really strong on this song.
DeleteOut of all the debuts I think 7 Years is better then New Romantics, only because of the message and the instrumentals.
ReplyDeleteI only heard El Taxi once, and that was today, while heading home in the car. So I don't know what to think about this song.
I don't know why I like Work, despite its repetitive chorus, the vocals are too low to be heard, and the lyrics, well you got me there.
I didn't think Shut Up And Dance was going to leave just yet, in fact that was the one exit I didn't predict.
(I'm just going to try to rush through these blubs fast, because I have some things to talk about at the end.)
Still glad GTBA is still here.
Dessert should have dropped.
Both 1D songs need to exit the top 10 now.
Stressed Out or CBTO should be #1.
Love Yourself is now in the bottom 5 for me.
I've grown back into CFMF.
Should've expected Sorry and Irresistible to drop out of the top 10.
Stitches, Confident, Photograph, and Hide Away need to leave.
SITWYM should enter the top 10 soon.
AOAL is now a great song.
Pillowtalk will not hit the top 5.
Youth will be gone by the end of the month.
Get Ugly will take a big drop in the near future.
The only good songs Coldplay has had are Paradise, and AOAL. All there other songs are forgettable, like Magic their worst song for being generic, and boring like Viva La Vida, easily the most forgettable #1 hit song of the 2000s.
Top 5:
1. 7 Years
2. New Romantics
3. AOAL
4. SITWYM
5. Roses
Bottom 5:
1. S.O.B.
2. Get Ugly
3. Dessert
4. Photograph
5. OCA

ITABII
Okay, so today, me and my dad decided to get out of the house, mainly so my mom can do our taxes, and we didn't want to be a bother to her. So we went to the mall, and I got the Katy Perry album, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.
Last week I went to the mall I actually got a Gravity Falls T-Shirt with Dipper on it, and a quote that says "Trust me, I'm mature for my age" with a picture of Dipper from the episode The Inconveniencing, with a popsicle on the left side of his face, and his tongue sticking out, as if to taste it from his face.
Super Tuesday has passed, with Trump (Unfortunately) getting 7 out of 11 states, Cruz getting 3, and Rubio 1. Clinton sweeps the south getting 7, and Sanders gets 4. Today more states are voting, and right now, Cruz has Maine and Kansas, while Trump has Louisiana, and Kentucky. On the Dems side, Sanders has won Nebraska and Kansas, and Clinton won Louisiana.

DeleteGuys today is a bit of a sad day, because former first lady, Nancy Reagan died of congestive heart failure in her home in Bel-Air. She is most famously known as the first lady to president Ronald Reagan, and for her infamous just say no to drugs. She died at age 94 years old today.
ReplyDeleteWhat the cheese?
DeleteNancy Reagan died. Former first lady, and wife of the late former president Ronald Reagan. She died of congestive heart failure early this morning inside her home in California. She helped her husband through Alzheimer's during the last 10 years of his life. She also famously said just say no to drugs in the 1980s. She was 94 years old.
DeleteThat is so sad! We will dearly miss her.
DeleteI actually care more about any of my family members dying. I actually had an aunt who died in 2011 (it's actually one of my uncle's husband) because she drank too much alcohol.
DeleteI think that Chase is the only one old enough to drink alcohol but only drink it once in a while.
DeleteMy aunt died when she was 4 days old not a joke

Go on Adrians hit 45 chart and look at the comment with the you still haven't answered my questions. Quickly before Chase removes the comments.
