New Entrants
~ It seems that Adele's new album, 25, is entirely filled with slow songs. Some make you realize what a great singer she is. Others make you emotional. And the remaining make you downright bored. When We Were Young falls into the category of songs that bore me. It's not awful. But's it definitely not good. I would not go out of my way to listen to this song. It doesn't really have any quality to it. It sounds a lot like Hello. But in Hello, Adele belts out the powerhouse of a chorus. This song is just 4 minutes and 50 seconds of boredom. But keep in mind, this is all my opinion.
~ I'm just starting to realize how better of an album Everything Is 4 is compared to Jason Derulo's previous album, Talk Dirty. From Everything Is 4, we get Get Ugly on the countdown. It's not horrible song despite my initial reaction to it. You can disregard that because my opinion has in fact changed. I've definitely heard more atrocious singles from him. It's not the best song on the album, but it's not the worst either. I'm torn in between on this one. But I can definitely see myself hating this song a few months from now begging for it to leave. Like I say with all Jason Derulo songs, none of them can hit the height that songs from Future History hit. Songs like Don't Wanna Go Home and Breathing are what I want to hear more of from Mr. Derulo. It Girl is probably his best song of all time. But overall, this song is okay. We'll see if that changes.
~ S.O.B. is so bad that it almost sounds like a joke. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats have failed to make a good first impression on me with this song. It sounds like a group of 50-year-olds trying to make a catchy song, but pretty much failed. It's a cool song to laugh at whenever it comes on the radio because of how stupid it is. But not something worthy of my Apple Music playlist on my phone.
~ Shawn Mendes (my bae) debuts this week with I Know What You Did Last Summer featuring Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello. News are going around that these two are dating. But I don't know for sure. I don't think either of them confirmed it. As far as the song goes, it's pretty catchy. Their voices sound pretty nice together. It's not his best song. But it's definitely not bad.
Son Of A Blurb
~ Can we get Taylor Swift – Wildest Dreams away from #2? Or even better, the Top 10?
~ As Justin Bieber – Sorry enters the Top 10, it's his first Top 10 song since I don't know how long. If a Justin Bieber song hits the Top 10 on this countdown, then it's something serious. I'm definitely happy to see Sorry getting some love.
~ Panic! At The Disco – Victorious made an awesome 20-spot jump all the way to #16 this week! That was another thing that made me really happy!
~ Now that Downtown is in the Bottom 5, how about we get rid of it, like, next week.
~ Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud is about one week away from lasting a full year on the countdown. Who the hell still listens to this?!?!?! This isn't what I want to hear when I'm in my car listening to the radio! Whoever is still voting for this song needs to stop!
~ Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You is doing absolutely nothing on this countdown. I'm so tired of it.
~ I'm starting to get a little annoyed whenever Alessia Cara – Here comes on the radio, just because I've heard it so much.
~ Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me is in the Top 10. How about we keep that song in there, but get rid of songs like Shut Up and Dance, Wildest Dreams, Ex's & Oh's, etc.
~ Adele – Hello just will not budge from that #1 spot. It'll probably still be there for weeks to come despite how I'm getting really tired of it.
~ Little Mix – Black Magic is still in the Top 10. This song lost its popularity a long time ago. I still like it, but it doesn't really make sense.
~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Audien and Lady Antebellum can hold at #1 for a third week in a row with Something Better.

Well that was fast
ReplyDeleteDid you listen to Drag Me Down so much cuz I see you're starting to get sick of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm already getting over Make Up a little bit
ReplyDeleteAlso, S.O.B. was released in 2013 so idk why it's here
I now really like Get Ugly
Also since there was no GT45 last week 2 will come out this weekend along with the weekend countdown post. Which song is worse posts will come out throughout the week along with the 10k pageview special and maybe some end of the year posts.
And lastly, Adrian did you grow into 679 and Hey Everybody (679 a lot?)
He did grow into 679
DeleteThinking Out Loud must Leave NAOUW!!
ReplyDeleteI am extremely divided on S.O.B. The verses are catchy, but the chorus is downright annoying.
I only heard the 2 songs from Adele's new album, mainly because I will get that album for Christmas, therefore I don't have an opinion on the album as a whole.
Don't care about Get Ugly, and Talk Dirty will always be his best song.
I really love I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Finally, Victorious made the jump it needed!
Great, Something Better just took a nosedive in the bottom 5.
Can we get rid of Wildest Dreams now, even I'm starting to get sick of it, and normally if I get sick of a Taylor Swift song there is something wrong with me.
I thought Used To Love you would have jumped into the top 20.
I can't believe they got rid of Tear In My Heart. I just hope that Stressed Out gets in here.
Last week Out Of The Woods tied with the biggest jump with In The Night and Irresistible. So why did it drop 2 spots this week!!
Shut Up And Dance may last longer than Light Em Up did on the countdown, if it doesn't get the biggest drop.
See You Again is still here -_-
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am really glad Sorry is in the top 10 ^_^
Can anyone tell me when will Ellie Goulding release Army as her new single? I'm getting tired of listening to On My Mind on the radio.
Top 5:
#1. Sorry- Justin Bieber
#2. Hello- Adele
#3. Used To Love You- Gwen Stefani
#4. Out Of The Woods- Taylor Swift
#5. Stand By You- Rachel Platten

#2. Can't Sleep Love- Pentatonix
#3. See You Again- Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth
#4. Locked Away- R. City ft. Adam Levine
#5. Get Ugly- Jason Derulo
Hit 1 Recommendations:
Army- Ellie Goulding
Something In The Way You Move- Ellie Goulding
Hands To Myself- Selena Gomez
Sober- Selena Gomez
Most Missed Song:
Love Me Like You Do- Ellie Goulding
Throwback Picks of the week:
One Sweet Day- Mariah Carey ft. Boyz II Men

Before He Cheats- Carrie Underwood
Christmas Picks:
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays- N'SYNC
All I Want For Christmas- Mariah Carey
Jingle Bell Rock- Bobby Helms
Bing Crosby- White Christmas
Linus & Lucy- Vince Guaraldi
Adrian, I noticed that you didn't put a song in orange. I think you would have put either Thinking Out Loud or S.O.B in orange.
Anyone have the Hitbound list?
ReplyDelete1. Nelly and Jeremih - The Fix (New On Hitbound)
Delete2. Tove Lo - Moments

Delete14. Secrets- Jacob Whitesides
Delete15. Somebody To Love Me- Tryon
Hello is good, but it is old. It will probably be #1 for 13 weeks.
ReplyDeleteSurprised that S.O.B. is here. It was only an average song on the Alt-18.
Also, STRESSED OUT ON HITBOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, check out the year end special of my blog http://alt18countdownonaltnation.blogspot.com/2015/12/the-alt-36-of-2015-special-announcement.html
I love your blog Bailey! (But you already knew that lol)
DeleteDelete your third thing and that'll make me happy.
DeleteChristmas is almost here! I'm so excited to get a bunch of books!
ReplyDeleteI don't like reading.
DeleteI do! I had 2 Dork Diaries at home!
DeleteAdrian, I don't understand how When We Were Young simply "bores" you. I find it to be a truly beautiful and amazing song by Adele. Better than Hello, even. Yes, I know it's slow. But so is Hello. And you like Hello better than WWWY.
ReplyDeleteI loved her voice in Hello because it was something I hadn't really heard from her before. Now this new single just feels like something I've already heard. It just doesn't shine as much in my opinion.
DeleteI love When We Were Young
DeleteOh, I get it.
DeleteI am going to create a new blog! I will tell you when it will be up. This one will be WAY better than my previous one.
ReplyDelete- Jason Rearick
Sorry, never mind. I won't because my parents said no. They said I could comment anonymous. They just want me to stay safer on the internet.
Delete- Jason
ALRIGHT THAT IS IT THAT VICTORIOUS JUMP I CANT STAND IT ITS IN ORANGE NOW SO JUST LEAVE BEFORE I LOSE IT
ReplyDeleteSeriously Parker -_-
DeleteVictorious is awesome. Pretty much all of Panic! At The Disco's music is really good. I don't see what's wrong with it.
DeleteBrendon Urie's voice is annoying as hell in that song.
DeleteI love Brendon Urie's voice!
DeleteNo one cares what you think Parker. Victorious is amazing!!!
DeleteParker no one fucking likes your opinions so stop complaining.
DeleteOh yeah and my post is out with my NEW HORRIBLE ORANGE SONG AND NEW AMAZING PURPLE SONG
ReplyDeleteGood news. My parents changed their minds. They said I can blog and I was trusted! Go to:
ReplyDeletewww.hits1weekendcountdowncharts.
blogspot.com
Yaaaaaay you're back!
DeleteJason! I started my own blog as well! Find it in the "other blogs" sidebar of this blog!!!!
DeleteHey Adrian, how did you like the Star Wars movie? I saw it today too, and I LOVED it!!!!! (Take into the consideration the fact that I've never seen a single Star Wars movie in my life)
ReplyDelete5 out of 5 stars from me! Excellent movie!
DeleteBut it seemed like one of those movies where you kind of needed knowledge from the previous movies in order to put some pieces together for it to make sense. I remember just about everything from the previous movies so I had no problem with understanding The Force Awakens.
I rather a Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie
DeleteMy dad kinda summed up for me what was in the first 6 movies, so that I kinda knew what was going on in the 7th installment. I won't post any spoilers, but there are some major plot twists in there that I didn't see coming. A cliffhanger ending, too. God I hate Ren.
DeleteI thought Kylo Ren was good at being the villain. But I didn't like him either.
DeleteWhat was the redhead's name that was Ren's ally? I forget
DeleteGeneral Hux, just found that out
DeleteI'm seeing the movie tomorrow
DeleteI'm not a star wars fan and I'm a bookworm -cool emoji-
DeleteI don't get why people like Star Wars.
DeleteI don't get why people don't like Star Wars.
DeleteSraw Rats.
DeleteStraw Rats backwards is Star Warts. Lol.
DeleteI agree, the movie was a 5/5 star I saw it today
DeleteOMG were close to 1000 pageviews on my blog!
ReplyDeleteOne thing:
ReplyDeleteParker, why do you hate Stressed Out that much?
Yeah Parker, why do you hate Stressed Out THAT much?????
DeleteWhoever the people in Twenty One Pilots are, their voices are annoying as f**k and just write really bad lyrics.
DeleteStressed out is good but the lyrics are horrible. I have to agree.
DeleteThe lyrics are relatable if you're a little bit older because it's about how things were easier back when they were kids, but now their stressed out.
DeleteTheir voices are much like any other male singer. As for the lyrics, I think you're a little too young to relate. Yes. Yes you are.
DeleteLike She's Kinda Hot, the Twenty One Pilots are singing bad lyrics about themselves such as, "I wish I had a better voice that sang some better words," like when 5SOS says in She's Kinda Hot, "They say we're losers and we're alright with that." When singers do that, it just urges me so much to dislike their song, even after bad histories from both the Twenty One Plots and 5SOS. Need I say more?
DeleteI feel like the "They say we're losers and we're alright with that" line shows their pride and how being called losers won't bring them down because they're alright with it.
DeleteI think that they are showing that they want to be losers (like they already are)
DeleteYeah, I don't think I like SOB.
ReplyDeleteI love SOB.
DeleteMy dad just told me terrible news...
ReplyDeleteWe have to cut my subscription to siriusXM because we don't use it enough.
*no answer*
DeleteDUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
DeleteI really know how you feel. The same thing happens to me. At least we have access to Sirius XM Hits 1 Preview :D
DeleteOoh, ouch. That must suck.
DeleteBtw Graham S.O.B. was released this year.
ReplyDeleteHeres the confusion. theres a boombox from sirius you can use forver. there's a difference between my parents. My mom treats me weird. she makes me sit in the back, she makes me go in a ponytail to protect me from headlice. Dad treats me very well. I eat candy in there, He makes me sit in the front seat, He makes sure i had privacy and to make sure my sisters arent bugging me

ReplyDeleteThe top 50 songs of the week chart is out. Can Adele hold onto the top spot for an 8th week in a row, tying the record for longest time at #1 with Timber and Blank Space?
WAIT THIS IS YOU??? If it is I had no clue and Im a subscriber
DeleteIts not me, I'm a subscriber to the person who does it. I actually vote for my top 10 in the comments.
Deleteoh, well ok then
DeleteLet's celebrate ( or scream ) the fact that Ed Sheeran- Thinking Out Loud will most likely last 1 WHOLE year on the countdown because Dec 27 is next week.

I feel like I should say that this list is based on how popular they got and my personal opinion. Like Uma Thurman is, in my opinion, the worst song of the year, but it was popular so I included it.
DeleteParker, I love those 3 songs and they're so good, with The Heart Wants What It Wants as the best out of the 3 while She's Kinda Hot is 2nd place.

I'm thinking about it, and New Orleans defense is horrendus
DeleteActually, New Orleans don't play defense haha. Like legit Brandon browner be commitig like 10 pass interferences a game it's sad... the Falcons aren't much better though :((
DeleteWow that sucks
DeleteTomorrow is Christmas Eve! Merry Christmas Eve Eve!!!!! Also, if you haven't checked out, I have two new posts out, one on each blog. One is voting results and one is an at a glance!
ReplyDeleteI just said that
DeleteGuys I am in trouble right now... There have been multiple tornadoes in Tennessee that have caused serious injuries and even a few deaths
ReplyDeleteBUT THERES A WARNING LIKE 15 MILES FROM ME
2 more deaths in Linden
DeleteIsn't it good to hide to prevent it. Praying for you is very important and you should survive.
DeleteTornadoes closed out around 10:00 P.M. in Murfreesboro, TN. 6 people died from the storms while many others were seriously injured from the storm an win damage. Fortunately, no tornadoes came near my home city of Brentwood and we barely even got a warning about it. Still praying for those who were hurt in the storm and the families that lost relatives and friends, too. #prayfortn
Delete**wind damage
DeleteOMG Guys I'm right! I got it! It's the newest book in the series. Now I got 4
ReplyDeleteDork Diary?
DeleteGuys, don't be that loser that says Santa isn't real. We gotta keep the spirit of Christmas going, right? A new special Christmas edition blog transformation AND post will be out tomorrow! Merry Eve of Christmas Eve y'all! HO HO HO!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso please pray that TOL leaves the countdown this week. It is like the Parker Scott of the Weekend Countdown.
DeleteFirst time commenting. For starters, I want to thank you for running this blog. I drive a lot on weekends, so the Weekend Countdown has become part of my weekend routine. However, on weekends where I'm not driving anywhere, or if my timing is such that I miss parts of the show, it's nice to be able to come here and get caught up.
ReplyDeleteI have a ton of thoughts about the countdown, most of which I don't share on any given week because the comment would just be way too long and no one would read it, but I will share one. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I have no problem with Thinking Out Loud still being on the countdown. A 45 song countdown is bound to have a good amount of filler (a point you've made about many songs in the past), and personally, I still like the song, and it's been hanging out near the bottom of the countdown, not taking up space in the Top 10 or even Top 20 for quite a while. And I think it's cool to see a song last for a full year on the countdown. So I have no issues with that song still being on.
Just letting you know that people will read your comment if you comment your thoughts. They may not agree with it, but they will read it. I never really liked Thinking Out Loud besides those first few weeks, so that's why I give it so much hate.
DeleteAlso, thank you for reading and enjoying this blog! :)
Yes, now I'm not the only one who still likes TOL.
DeleteWhen TOL lasted a year on the weekend countdown throughout 2015 I still liked TOL so your not the only one I loved thinking out loud throughout the whole week of 2015 and even when it debuted on 12/27/14 it would have been purple and when thinking out loud was on the weekend countdown for 54 weeks it was in purple and green throughout its whole tenure
DeleteSometimes Hits 1 can be the worst! Focus has 1 spin and it probably will leave! (anger face)
ReplyDelete(Even angrier face)
DeleteWhat? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! It has no spins so far because that 1 spin you said was from the weekend countdown so that doesn't really count. RIP!
DeletePredictions for 12/26/15:
ReplyDeleteExits (4 are listed because they've each only aired once but only 2 will leave):
Ariana Grande - Focus
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis/Eric Nally - Downtown
Audien/Lady Antebellum - Something Better
5sos - Hey Everybody!
Entrants:
Charlie Puth - One Call Away
Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out
Top 5:
1. Adele - Hello
2. Elle King - Ex's And Oh's
3. Taylor Swift - Wildest Dreams
4. Demi Lovato - Confident
5. Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance
Biggest Jump: Worth It or S.O.B.
Biggest Drop: Idk maybe Black Magic
Thinking Out Loud has 11 spins so it will probably last a year
Victorious will actually probably have the biggest drop
DeleteI hope it does
DeleteAdrian, do you have an opinion on the Billboard top 100 of 2015? Uptown Funk was listed as song of the year.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to find a time to do a review of Billboard's Top 100 Songs of 2015. Hopefully, that will happen soon.
DeleteUptown Funk was also ranked #1 on American Top 40's Top 40 of 2015.
Umm, where's your top 45 Songs Of 2015, I don't see them there yet. Please do it soon because I'm running out of patience.
DeleteI was going to publish that next. But instead I'm going to do it on Saturday after the Weekend Countdown post gets published. I've decided to review Hits 1's Top 45 of the year first. But my Top 45 is just about complete.
DeleteOMG It's Christmas Eve!!!!!!!!!!!! also 2 of our mothers. Me, and Miles
