New Entrants
~ We are cleaning house this week as we have six new songs coming in. We'll go from worst to best. Kicking things off with the highest debut of the week, we have more Maroon 5 (a.k.a. The Adam Levine Experience). This time they bring Girls Like You, which was rereleased to include a verse by none other than Cardi B, who has been quite big this past year for some reason. As far as the song goes, I originally disliked it. But I have warmed up to it over the past week. So now it's okay. I like Cardi B's verse, but everything else about the song is not very exciting. I expect more from Maroon 5. It's in blue now, but that doesn't mean it can't change back to red.
~ Next we have Hundred Handed with the song Too Good. I don't have much to say about this one. It's good to say the very least. I like the production. The song has a nice vibe to it. But it's not something I picture myself going out of my way to listen to. If it comes on Hits 1, that's fine. I won't change it. But I will probably never listen to it outside of there. I also don't think it'll stick with me in the long run and I doubt it'll last that long here anyway. But who knows? I didn't think songs like I Like Me Better would stay very long and look at that one.
~ Next we have U2 with Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way, which is a long title I hope to not have to write very much other than in the countdown list. I talked a lot about this one last week when it was on Hit-Bound. The original version is decent, but the Cheat Codes remix, which is the one we're working with, gives it a little bit more life. The production is pretty good until we get to the drop, which is kind of annoying. But that aside, I like everything else about the drop. I love Bono's vocals. I think he shines very nicely here. I'd be interested to see this song do well. It was a very random song to pick up on, but it's enjoyable for the time being.
~ Next we have the return of Sam Smith with Pray featuring Logic. Right off the bat, I love this song. Sam Smith has such a great voice that has so much emotion in it. I think he sounds great here. I love the bridge of the song at the 2:30 mark. There I think he sounds fantastic. Logic also has a great contribution here. I think his verses flow really nicely and I'm glad Sam Smith rereleased the song with him because he's a very nice fit. Overall, really great song and I hope it does well. Sam Smith is one of those artists who's deserving of every hit he gets.
~ Next we have Liam Payne with Familiar. Hits 1 edited out J Balvin and I already wrote my complaints about that in a previous post. I thought he had a great contribution and I loved the mix of English and Spanish, but whatever. The song is still great with or without him I guess. This is easily Liam's best song so far. I love the Latin vibe. The production here is the best thing about the song. Liam actually sounds pretty good on here. It's a huge step up from what he's done in the past including Strip That Down and Get Low. I wouldn't mind seeing this song do well.
~ Finally we have 5 Seconds Of Summer with Youngblood from their new album which just came out yesterday. When this debuted on Hit-Bound, I said it wasn't as good as its predecessor and that it was only green because I was being generous. But that has obviously changed now with it being the best debut of the week. I think the song is great. It's definitely one of their best songs in their whole career. The instrumentation and production are really good. I love the chorus to this song with the beat and the vocals. It sounds great in my opinion. The vocals are really good here. I don't know what I was thinking when I first reviewed this because this is truly a really great song and I would say better than Want You Back. I have no doubt that this song will do well and I look forward to it.

Best Debut of the Week: 5 Seconds of Summer – Youngblood
Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list.
- Big Boi – All Night (DEBUT)
- Cole Redding – Father Father (DEBUT)
- In Real Life – Tattoo (How 'Bout You)
- The Wrecks – James Dean
- Dennis Lloyd – Nevermind
- Fall Out Boy – The Last Of The Real Ones
- Panic! At The Disco – High Hopes
- Meghan Trainor – Let You Be Right
- Backstreet Boys – Don't Go Breaking My Heart
- Cardi B – I Like It
- lovelytheband – Broken
- HRVY – Personal
- Sugarland/Taylor Swift – Babe
- MNEK/Hailee Steinfeld – Colour (DEBUT)
- BTS – Fake Love (DEBUT)
~ I do not see the appeal with All Night. It's not the worst thing rap has to offer. But it is just not good. I'm hoping this doesn't debut on the countdown. But Hits 1 is weird sometimes so we never know.
~ Cole Redding debuts with Father Father on Father's Day weekend. The song is sweet and it's enjoyable. I don't have much else to say at the moment. But it's a good song and I wouldn't mind seeing success out of it.
~ Next we have MNEK returning with Hailee Steinfeld on the track Colour. I'm reviewing this solely based on the iTunes preview I heard. It's an okay song. I'll try to listen to it in full sometime and we'll see if my thoughts change. But it's nothing too interesting.
~ I can't picture myself ever being part of BTS' crazy fanbase. Seriously some people go absolutely insane for these guys and I can't say I totally understand their appeal. Their music is nothing special. They're good dancers, but that's it. Fake Love is no different. I will admit that it's better than most of their songs. But it just doesn't appeal to me. BTS doesn't appeal to me. My apologies if I triggered any BTS fan, but I'm just being honest here.
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Panic! At The Disco – High Hopes
2. Backstreet Boys – Don't Go Breaking My Heart
3. Fall Out Boy – The Last Of The Real Ones
4. Sugarland/Taylor Swift – Babe
5. The Wrecks – James Dean
Blurbs Like You
~ Ariana Grande – No Tears Left To Cry is now up in the Top 5 a little sooner than expected. But I'm happy with it. I've been enjoying this song quite a bit lately. I wouldn't object to it hitting #1 sometime in the future.
~ Selena Gomez – Back To You made a nice jump up to #11. I'm happy to see this song doing well. I've been enjoying it a lot lately. It's definitely her best solo song since, I would say, Come & Get It. Though The Heart Wants What It Wants was pretty good too.
~ Echosmith – Over My Head made a sudden jump into the Top 20. I still don't care for this song and I don't think it should be any higher than this. But I guess it could be worse.
~ Speaking of sudden jumps into the Top 20, Dustin Atlas/Erin Bowman – Fake Friends randomly rose to #19 this week. I like the song, so I don't mind. But I wasn't expecting it. I pictured this song just straight up flopping. I guess it's a good thing that I was wrong.
~ We have four songs tied for the Biggest DROP!!!... of the Week, which I don't think has happened ever in my almost five years of recapping this countdown. Tell Me You Love Me and Zombie dropping were both uncalled for. I'm hoping they can both jump back up. But I don't think it'll happen unfortunately given that they're not exactly massive hits. But neither are Over My Head or I Wanna Know, but whatever I guess. The drops from Let Me Go and Him & I were expected since they're both pretty old. Let Me Go I think is the second oldest song on the countdown after Thunder. I'm still pretty damn impressed with this song's run.
~ AJR/Rivers Cuomo – Sober Up thankfully fell out of the Top 30 and Post Malone/Ty Dolla $ign – Psycho thankfully fell out of the Top 20. I kinda want these songs outta here as soon as possible.
~ I'm not really sure why Dua Lipa – New Rules is still here.
~ As far as the exits go, No Excuses thankfully left quickly. I'm glad because it didn't take long for that one to get annoying. No one cared for Hurt Somebody so I'm kinda glad that one is gone too. Bad At Love was getting pretty damn old, so I'm happy with that one leaving. But then we have three good songs departing. Finesse had a nice run and I'm glad I finally got to enjoy a Bruno Mars song from 24K Magic. That one was quite enjoyable. All The Stars was underrated, but it's almost guaranteed to make an appearance in my Top 45 songs of 2018. So there's that I guess. Seriously though. Kendrick Lamar and SZA deserved more than that. Finally we have Lights Down Low, which had one hell of a long countdown run for a song that never hit the Top 5. I loved it when it debuted on Hit-Bound around January of last year, and I still love it now. It's such a sweet song that I'm glad ended up being a hit this year. It's a shame to see it go after staying for so long. But I'm very satisfied with how well it did and I'm glad MAX had a big hit here. Goodbye, Lights Down Low. You will be missed.

This week is not as good as people are saying. Finesse and All The Stars left, only one debut was actually good if not memorable compared to the others, and you have Friends continuing to make the top 10 miserable.
ReplyDeleteOh well maybe other people here think otherwise.
DeleteThird. (Okay that was unnecessary)
ReplyDeletePart of my favorite moves on this countdown was Fake Ass Friends getting to #19. Such a great song.
Blog post is up!

Alright guys post is out:
ReplyDeletehttp://siriusxmhits1review.blogspot.com/2018/06/panic-at-disco-2-week-of-june-16-2018.html
Surprise; I’m going to do a Hits 1 post for this week!
ReplyDeleteIt’ll hopefully be out tomorrow.
Something you haven't done in about a year.
DeleteYes.
DeleteSomething to note: Father Father is still not on the voting poll, so it's possible that the song was only added for Father's Day
ReplyDeleteThat might be true, but they would've just played as an extra instead of putting it on the Hit-Bound segment.
DeleteSomething tells me you might be on to something, Nick. But we'll find out next week if it's still on Hit-Bound.
DeleteMikey Piff also said in the intro for the song "since its Father's Day Weekend, I went looking for a song about fathers" or something like that
DeleteWhy wasn't "Mom" by Meghan Trainor on Hit-Bound for Mother's Day in 2016 then?
DeleteBecause it A) Wasn't an official single, it was only to promote her second album as a promotional single, and most importantly B) it was garbage like 95% of Thank You was.
Delete2...weeks....I can’t live anymore. Where is my summer vacation?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteMy school ends on June 22 and starts August 29. 66 DAYS OF SUMMER.......
ReplyDeleteIDGAF IS MOST WUTCHUWANTED!!!
I see a top 5 entry soon...
June 28, September 4
DeleteOh my gosh Leah! I really love your new profile pic!
DeleteOhhh.............. I feel so bad
DeleteAnd guys, I'm sorry. I know I can't comment on here anymore because of the bullying. But I'm just coming here to tell Leah about her new profile pic.
DeleteIt looks like I Like It might dethrone Psycho for #1 this week.
ReplyDeleteThat is actually a good prediction for the most part.
Delete#1 will probably be Lucid Dreams

ReplyDeleteSo I worked most of the day today, and missed a pretty crazy Phillies game against the Milwaukee Brewers, who currently lead the NL conference. I did keep myself updated through my phone (it wasn't playing on any TVs since they were all showing the World Cup), we were getting quite a few runs but the Brewers had us on the run. And with us ahead 10-6 and the Brewers down to their final out, they hit a three run home run to make it 10-9, but couldn't quite finish the job. These last four games (except the first one against the Brewers) has us showcasing offense that I've just been left wondering where it's been this month!
ReplyDeleteYay for that throwback pick! I heard they're releasing some new music soon and I'm really looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have no idea why but I really like All Night. I was excited when I heard it was by Big Boi since I'm a pretty big Outkast fan, and it was a lot better than I expected it to be. Definitely overhated if you ask me.
I didn't even know Big Boi was in OutKast. I'm so basic lol.
Delete^^You are basic. Jk I did not know either.
DeleteFAKE LOVE is getting lots of airplay this week as a campaign for the BTS "Army" to vote Kid Kelly into the Radio HoF.... I'm not sure if this affects its debut chances
ReplyDeleteThis doesn’t really surprise me. It’s a good strategy though.
DeleteI love how Love So Soft just aired on Hits1 this morning for no reason lol
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i7hIUegbQs
ReplyDeleteFinally King Of The Clouds has been released, and with only a few more days until Pray For The Wicked is released on Friday.

Did you not read the Billboard article about that like I did?
Deletehttps://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8461409/drake-nice-for-what-seventh-week-hot-100-juice-wrld-lucid-dreams
"A data processing error resulted in incorrect earlier streaming figures for the title; thus, its streaming sum is lower than forecast last week, when it appeared that the song was challenging for No. 1 on the Hot 100."
Um.... Lights Down Low just aired to Hits 1 despite it exiting
ReplyDelete*on
DeleteThey do stuff like that to other songs as well only if they did really well and were popular on the countdown. Basically similar to recurrent play.
DeleteThat’s 100% true Dylan. Feel It Still aired 3 times last week despite it exiting the week before.
Deletehttp://www.tmz.com/2018/06/18/xxxtentacion-shot-dead-miami/
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it is true or false but X reportedly got shot in Miami and he has no pulse.
I am shook by this. This story is still developing at the time of my typing this, but I'm really hoping he's okay and that he pulls through.
DeleteIt's really awful news to hear
DeleteWow. This is shocking.
DeleteI'm not much of a fan of his music, but I really hope he makes this out alive.
This means that his songs are gonna make a comeback in the wake of his death I'm sure of it, next week songs like Sad! Changes and others might bound up on the Hot 100.
DeleteHonestly I don't care, not only was his music utter shit, but he was an awful human being regardless. I won't miss him and frankly wouldn't mind him not surviving.
I can understand why you think he is an awful person but it is awful to wish him death.
DeleteI'm not wishing him dead if he's already dead, and honestly awful people should not deserve my sympathy.
DeleteXxxtentacion is confirmed to be dead according to TMZ.
ReplyDeleteJust wow.
DeleteAs much as I don't care about his music, I am shocked and saddened about this news.
I'm not, obviously.
DeleteAnother day, another death. How the hell does this keep happening?
ReplyDeletePeople die everyday, and frankly I don't care about this. XXX sucked in every way as a human.
DeleteWe don’t know most of the dead people.
DeleteAnd that's a bad thing because....?
Deletewell...yeah
DeleteThis is scary... what if some of the big artists die just like this. (avicci did) (idc if i spelled him wrong)
DeleteIt always occur on the worst days (including a birthday of my friend), so let’s just hope that on our best moments, we won’t have to witness a tragic death.
DeleteI know that X had a really bad criminal record and didn't make that much good music, but he was trying to improve, and if someone assumes otherwise because of his past and thinks it's okay to murder him, that's fucked up. Especially since he was only 20. #RIPX
ReplyDelete"he was trying to improve"
ReplyDeleteYeah right, in what way?
From what I've heard, he hadn't been in any feuds with other rappers much, he hadn't been in trouble with the law as much, he was trying to resume his education and get a GED, and was getting involved with charities and had even planned a charity event for this weekend. Even if it doesn't seem like much, it's still something, and he could've done a lot if he hadn't died so young.
DeleteStill doesn't excuse his shit in the past, nor his music.
Deletehttps://i.imgur.com/CoWZ05t.gif
DeleteHaha no, fuck off with your Pulse style use of gifs.
DeleteMiles. I can respect you for a lot of things like you hatred of Pulse and your hate of Xxxtentacion. But I can't fucking believe you are saying this awful shit when the guy just died and he was also trying to make a difference in peoples lives. I know he has done some awful stuff but he has donated to charities, done events, and trying to persuade other people to do the same thing. I really can't believe you are doing this. I respected you before but you are just being awful right now.
Delete^^^^^^^^
DeleteSo? I have an opinion, I stated my stance and I stand by it. The words "Somethings are inexcusable and unforgivable to humans, but somethings only God can forgive" Regardless of the good things, I'm not just gonna forgive and forget the bad things he has done, as I stated above, something are unforgivable.
DeleteI had an opinion too. Idk why you are defending yours when if I am mistaken, you weren't either.
DeleteThe fact that you do wish death on him is sad and inhumane. Oh but "why wish death on him when he is already dead?". He wasn't confirmed to be dead at that moment yet! Even worse, I have heard people say that you said basically, "Good news! Someone is dead! Let's throw a fucking party!". Not cool man. I do understand that somethings can be unforgivable, but that doesn't mean you can go ahead and celebrate people being dead. I am not saying you have to respect him for what he has done. But respect him for the sake of human rights.
*In the second sentence I meant you weren't respecting my opinion.
DeleteFirst I was respecting your opinion, but you were not respecting mine.
DeleteSecondly, I did not wish him dead, especially since it was reported he had no pulse and subsequently died, meaning why would I wish death upon a dead man anyway? And regardless of if it was confirmed or not, it was reported in the same article that you said "he has no pulse" meaning he is in fact dead.
Thirdly, no I didn't, I said that because it meant A) an abuser who deserved to be locked up for his crime who got away scot free had died, which most people would think that some justice should have been done, and B) that last part is complete BS.
Lastly, I didn't say I was celebrating that someone had died, and I'm not just gonna automatically respect someone who beat up his pregnant girlfriend because he recently died and was trying to better himself.
As far as this conversation is concerned we're done here, and time to move on.
"I didn't say I was celebrating that someone had died"
DeleteOk well I guess you must have your ways. I have a couple people here that can shoot you wrong in a blink of a eye.
Sure you do, and I'm the Queen of England.
DeleteHow am I not respecting your opinion anyway? The opinion that someone being dead is acceptable? That is not cool. I think I kinda jumbled up my words in the previous statement earlier. My opinion is that if you are dead you should be acknowledged. It is basic human rights. You are basically saying that you do not care about a human dying.
DeleteAnd your putting words into my mouth.
DeleteThat is not what I'm saying at all, he was an abuser first and foremost, I am acknowledging his actions and what he did and that yes he did die. I'm just saying that I don't care about this particular person dying/being dead because of his actions which I find disgusting, depraving, and most importantly inhumane.
Ok. We should just move on.
DeleteWe should.

ReplyDeleteSo NF has a new song in the top 10 on iTunes called WHY, why I don't know.
ReplyDeleteQuestion, did anyone listen to that Kygo and Imagine Dragons collab yet, because it's #2 on iTunes right now?
Also, I feel like next week I Like It or Girls Like You could make a play for the #1 spot on the Hot 100, because they both have high sales being in the top 5 at best I hope, streaming is good, and radio is gaining a lot, something Lucid Dreams doesn't have and could turn into a margins game for the top spot.
I listened to the Kygo/Imagine Dragons collab. It's pretty good, I hope hits 1 picks up on it
DeleteThe collab isn't bad. It is pretty damn good. WHY is also decent as well.
DeleteLucid Dreams, GLY, and I Like It may be the new top 3 next week as well.
So...congrats on this blog getting 2 million pageviews?
ReplyDeleteAnd the chances of a 2 million pageview special are not realistic, since he didn't do a 1 million pageview special. And I would really like a break from the norm.
DeleteWho the hell are The Carters and why is their single called "APESHIT" in the top 3 on iTunes.
ReplyDeleteOh wait I am dumb.
DeleteYep. Just realized the Carters are Beyonce and Jay-Z.
DeleteSo... it's a collab album with Jay-Z and Beyonce? Was not expecting that at all.
Delete*They released a new album called Everything Is Love and it was released two days ago.
DeleteJust listened to it and it is not bad. I seriously thought The Carters were some underground rock band at first.
DeleteRip XXXTentacion
ReplyDeleteSo, putting the news aside...
ReplyDeleteBad news for Friends haters: I heard it as Most Wutchuwanted while I was out today.
Jesus Christ.
Noo!
DeleteUgh
DeleteUgh! Worst song from both artists, terrible production, and awful, cringy lyrics and Anne-Marie sounds awful hear, especially with her sing-rapping.
DeleteDon't forget about IDGAF that was most Wutchuwanted too!
DeleteAs was Delicate
DeleteI'll give a 2-day extension for my rankdown. 5 more days left to finish!

And sadly, I don't see anymore new Bruno Mars singles coming up soon. So I guess the 24K Magic era has come to a close. :(
Delete^Unless they try to push Chunky again.
DeleteThey won't, which is sad because that is probably my favorite song off the album.
DeleteNew to voting poll:
ReplyDeleteJump - Julia Michaels/Trippie Redd
Yay!!! Such a great song! Surprised they didn't edit out Trippie though.
DeleteThey didn't edit J Balvin out of Familiar at first, so they'll still probably edit Trippie out soon
DeleteThey didn't edit him out at first? Golly it should've stayed that way.
DeleteYeah the first week Familiar was on Hit-Bound J Balvin was still in the song
DeleteGreat choice.
Delete^editing him out or the new song?
DeleteThe song being added to Hits 1.

DeleteNew on Hits 1: Bebe Rexha - I'm A Mess
ReplyDeleteHey guys! I know it's been a while since I actually commented on here. I do still read the blog every week and all the comments. I am now officially certified in Digital Media Technology, aka Radio & TV! I just finished an internship where I was the music director for a radio station, and let me just say it was one of the best experiences of my life so far! I know most of you are still in Middle or High School trying to figure out what to do with your life. I highly recommend a media degree or certification! I am 20 years old and have had my own personal Top 40 countdown since I was in 6th grade, I even had a blog for it back in the day. I update it every week now, I just never post it anywhere...lol. Alessia Cara - Growing Pains is on Hits 1 (spefically tonight's countdown)
ReplyDeleteI know it’s probably odd to see me here but I was actually highly questioning why hits 1 would remove bad bunny and j Balvin from I like it when they literally take up half the song. It’s honestly silly and I’m not only saying that because I like the song a lot as is BUT because w out them the song MIGHT be two minutes long so im not really sure what the point is there🤔
ReplyDeletenot sure why this is coming up as unknown but it’s me (if y’all remember me 😬🤣) ^^^
DeleteIt’s a stupid move on Hits 1’s part.
DeleteOh crap I was wondering who that was. Welcome back!
DeleteYeah removing the other artists doesn't make sense. It's just going to be the Cardi verse and then the chorus over and over again. Plus Cardi is probably rapping more than the other two artists.
It's kind of why I Don't like Hits 1 that much anymore tbh.
DeleteI haven't been listening to the countdown for very long so I have a question... Has Hits 1 always loved Panic! At The Disco this much? They're like, obsessed with Brendon Urie on their Twitter and on the Morning Mash-Up
ReplyDeleteYes. I think.
DeleteI'll find their chart peaks soon.
Took me a while but here are their chart peaks since 2013.
Delete#16 Miss Jackson (ft. Lolo) 12/07/2013
#17 Keep on Keeping On (Travie McCoy ft. Brendon Urie) 05/03/2014
#1 Victorious 05/21/2016
#7 Death of a Bachelor 12/03/2016
#7 L.A. Devotee 07/22/2017
#1 Say Amen (Saturday Night) 06/09/2018
Ok thank you
DeleteBy the looks of it, Hits 1 didn't fall in love with them until Victorious came along and hit #1 in 2016 on the countdown. Since then, they've been bringing in new music from Brendon Urie and co.
DeleteIt's like with 5 Seconds Of Summer in which despite not being popular elsewhere, their songs tend to be successful mainly because Hits 1 is very fond of them.
I haven't payed attention to Hits 1 this week. What is the debut/exit situation looking like?
ReplyDeleteWeirdly, no songs have left the voting poll, and I haven't heard any hit-bound songs getting tons of airplay. So potentially none
DeleteWell I do know that Let You Be Right and Personal were airing a slight bit last week so they could maybe debut.
DeleteThey will probably update the voting poll later today or tomorrow.
Hopefully.
DeleteI'm A Mess and Growing Pains aren't on the poll despite airing during the week so I think the poll has to be updated at least once more.
Father Father still isn't there either, so that was probably just there for Father's Day
Also, Delicate, The Middle and Say Amen are all likely top 5
DeleteOne last thing: Youngblood is the "hit-bound" song of the week
Delete0 Big Boi – All Night
Delete0 Cole Redding – Father Father
5 In Real Life – Tattoo (How 'Bout You)
7* The Wrecks – James Dean
0 Dennis Lloyd – Nevermind
4 Fall Out Boy – The Last Of The Real Ones
6 Panic! At The Disco – High Hopes
2 Meghan Trainor – Let You Be Right
3 Backstreet Boys – Don't Go Breaking My Heart
1 Cardi B – I Like It
0 lovelytheband – Broken
3 HRVY – Personal
2 Sugarland/Taylor Swift – Babe
1 MNEK/Hailee Steinfeld – Colour
0 BTS – Fake Love
*6 today. Likely debut.
YAY FOR JAMES DEAN!!!! Not to be that person but possible 6 exit week?
DeleteDoes anyone have an idea of what the most likely exits are?
DeleteProbably Havana, Him & I, Let Me, and Perfect
DeleteI'm not sure about Him & I, I've heard it quite a bit. Maybe How Long instead of it?
DeleteWe’re not going to have 6 exits this week because we had 6 last week.
Delete^Says the person who always prays for 6 exits every week.
DeleteNot sure if this means anything, but James Dean just aired on Hits 1 so that could debut.
ReplyDeleteBased on the nightly countdowns, it appears that our top 5 will consist of Say Amen, FRIENDS, The Middle, Delicate, and one of Done For Me or Whatever It Takes. On The Loose will have a significant drop, no tears left to cry will drop a little, Familiar and Psycho will both jump.

SPOILERS
Apparently some people think that SAD! is going to be number one on billboard next week
ReplyDeleteI hope it isn’t.
DeleteWouldn’t be surprised.
DeletePlease God no.
DeleteI wouldn't be mad about it since I kinda grew into the song.
DeleteI wouldn't be mad either.
Delete^Same here.
DeleteAs long as it doesn't spend too much time at #1.
I think that'd be a tall order to hit #1 with only half a week of streaming and sales. If it was a full week then for sure, but at this rate it's kind of on the edge.
DeleteI would hope I Like It is #1 next week.
DeletePersonally I think it will be #2 behind I Like It but it should be close
DeleteThe problem is how big will the streaming be, because sources say that it broke Taylor Swift's streaming record, and if that's not a bad sign of a posthumous #1 hit for the first time in a decade or more, I don't know what is.
DeleteI would expect Sad! to be #3 in sales, #1 on streaming and that's it. I Like It is #2 on Sales with Girls Like You #1, that's for sales, but I have no idea how the margins will be overall, especially since there are three more days for radio, and it depends how much I Like It and Girls Like You gains until Sunday.
https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8462352/cardi-b-bad-bunny-j-balvin-i-like-it-vying-for-no-1-hot-100
DeleteIt looks like I Like It will be number one unless there are miscalculations like last week
I think one problem with Sad! going to #1 is the fact that the sales/streaming was about half of the tracking week (Friday-Thursday) and has no radio, which I Like It and Girls Like You have (which cycles on a Monday-Sunday, different from streaming and sales)
DeleteFriday to midday Monday Sad! was declining, but since then it shot up, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday, where it was at the highest in terms of sales and streaming, while everything else shuffled back, until Thursday (The final day of tracking) for songs to try to regain lost ground.
It could be close, but I do hope I Like It or Nice For What is #1, anything over XXXTENTACLEHENTAI, and no I will never get over that name.

ReplyDeleteBillboard Hot 100 post out, also P!ATD finally released Pray For The Wicked and it is amazing, and I might just do an album review of it.
Like Miles said, Pray For The Wicked is really good and I might do a review as well.
ReplyDeleteFor those who haven't submitted and would like to submit (Adrian, Scott(s), Parker (?)), you only have 2 days remaining to submit a list for the rankdown of Hits 1's unknown songs!
ReplyDeleteList is here:

Submissions so far are: WAMB10, me, swegawaffle, Nick, Sasha, Graham, and Dylan.
Anyone else is free to submit.
DeleteI’ll try today or tomorrow.
DeleteI don't think I'll have time unfortunately. But I'll be sure to follow along with the results.
DeleteI'm working on submitting mine right now, though it'll take a while because I'm listening to some of the songs I haven't yet heard.
DeleteI’ll try to see if I can submit a list but I have not heard most of these songs so I might not have enough time
