New Entrants
~ First up, we have Jon Bellion – Overwhelming, which has been cruising around Hit-Bound for quite a while. Jon Bellion has proven to be one of my favorite new artists as he produces unique music that is unlike anything we usually hear on the radio. I was impressed with how big All Time Low got and he is now back with the follow-up single, Overwhelming. This song is different like most of his music and it may be a little hard to get into the verses at first listen. But with more listens, it does get better. I really like the chorus. It's a relatively short song, but it is definitely a good one. I can't see it doing as well as All Time Low, but hopefully it can stay for a little while.
~ Next up, we have Erin Bowman – Good Time Good Life, which is another long-time Hit-Bound veteran. This song is pure catchiness. I love the beat and she does have a very good voice as well. However, that's really the only thing this song has going for it. It's not a song that's going to stick, nor will it be remembered a few months after it goes away. But for now, I can get into it.
~ Next up, we have the biggest song in the country just now making its debut. It is Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee debuting with Despacito featuring Justin Bieber. I like both the original and the remix, but the remix has more to it. Besides, who wouldn't want to hear Justin Bieber singing in Spanish? I don't know how, but it makes him a bit more attractive. The only issue is that he can't sing it live. But anyway, as you can guess I definitely really like the chorus and Daddy Yankee's verse is really catchy as well. I have no idea what the song is about, but it's catchy as hell. It's doing really well around the country right now. Hopefully it can do well here.
~ Finally we have the return of Noah Cyrus. She still has yet to impress me with her music. She just can't sing. At least I don't think she can. Of course, I'm not a professional vocal instructor. But from what I'm hearing, she can't sing well. She was one of the artists that I saw in concert last Saturday and she was (not surprisingly) my least favorite act of the night. Anyway, she brings Stay Together. The only thing I can give this song is that it's better than Make Me (Cry). There's absolutely nothing appealing to it. It's actually quite annoying in some parts. Noah, quit trying to be like your sister. It's not working.
Hit-Bound

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Mike Posner/SeeB – I Took A Pill In Ibiza

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:
- Shawn Hook/Vanessa Hudgens – Reminding Me
- Fall Out Boy – Champion (DEBUT)
- Camila Cabello – Crying In The Club
- Calvin Harris/Pharrell/Katy Perry – Feels (DEBUT)
- Julia Michaels – Uh Huh
- Imagine Dragons – Thunder
- Ed Sheeran – Galway Girl
- Bruno Mars – Versace On The Floor
- Paramore – Hard Times
- Andy Grammer – Give Love
- All Time Low – Good Times
- Macklemore/Skylar Grey – Glorious
- Katy Perry/Nicki Minaj – Swish Swish
- Carly Rae Jepsen – Cut To The Feeling
~ Now this is more like it. Champion is what I like to hear from Fall Out Boy. This is much better than that awful lead single that thankfully flopped. I hope this one manages to debut.
~ Calvin Harris debuts this week with Feels featuring Pharrell and Katy Perry. Right off the bat, I love the production on this track. It's a rather chill song. The vocals are also pretty good. Pharrell sounds great on the verses and I love Katy Perry's chorus. All in all, it's a really good song.
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Carly Rae Jepsen – Cut To The Feeling
2. Shawn Hook/Vanessa Hudgens – Reminding Me
3. Calvin Harris/Pharrell/Katy Perry – Feels
3. Calvin Harris/Pharrell/Katy Perry – Feels
4. Katy Perry/Nicki Minaj – Swish Swish
5. Fall Out Boy – Champion
Overblurbing
~ Jason Derulo/Nicki Minaj/Ty Dolla $ign – Swalla took an interesting jump this week into the Top 20. I'm very pleased as I still really enjoy this song. Maybe it won't flop after all.
~ Of course Body Like A Back Road was destined to jump into the Top 30 at some point. Honestly, can we just not make this song bigger than what it should be? Of all country songs out there, we have to get this one.
~ I read something earlier this week about how Louis Tomlinson viewed himself as the forgettable member of One Direction, with everyone else doing big things right now. He has been and will probably always be my favorite member. And hey, hopefully we'll be getting a new song from him soon. I heard it's a collab with Bebe Rexha, so it should be interesting.
~ As far as our exits go, they all left pretty early. Good News lasted only three weeks and American Girls didn't last very long either. Slide and All Night have been here a little while, but not long enough since they're both really good songs that got quite underrated.
~ I am very pleased by the Biggest Jump and DROP!!!!..... of the Week.
~ I apologize for the lack of blurbs. There really wasn't anything special that happened this week.
Concert
~ Like I said, I did get to go to a concert where several different artists performed during a 4-5 hour show. Right now I'll go through each artist that performed with the songs they performed. I didn't know every single song that was performed. But I'll list all the ones I did know.
~ Cheat Codes: many songs I didn't know, No Promises
~ Dua Lipa: some song I didn't know, Blow Your Mind (Mwah), Scared To Be Lonely, Be The One
~ Noah Cyrus: Stay Together, I Feel It Coming (The Weeknd cover), Make Me (Cry)
~ Hailee Steinfeld: Starving, You're Such A, Love Myself, Most Girls
~ Liam Payne: Strip That Down
~ Camila Cabello: OMG*, Havana*, Bad Things, Crying In The Club, I'll Never Be The Same*
*Brand new song
*Brand new song
~ Niall Horan: some song I didn't know, Issues (Julia Michaels cover), This Town, Slow Hands
~ Zedd: Beautiful Now, Starving, Rude (Zedd Remix), Break Free, Rather Be (Zedd Mix), I Want You To Know, Closer (Zedd Mix), Stay The Night, Clarity, Stay
~ Jason Derulo: Wiggle, Ridin' Solo, Trumpets, Whatcha Say, Swalla, Talk Dirty, Want To Want Me
~ Kygo: Stole The Show, First Time, Sexual Healing (Kygo Remix), Stay, It Ain't Me, Firestone
It was a pretty cool show overall. Noah Cyrus ended up being the only act I didn't like. The last three (Kygo, Zedd, and Jason Derulo) ended up being the three best performances with Kygo being my personal favorite. I've been enjoying his music for a couple of years now and it was really cool to get to see him live. So that's all I have for you. It was definitely a good time.

I wouldn't put it past you guys if you didn't have Candle In The Wind 1997 as the throwback pick for the countdown on August 26th/September 2nd for the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.
ReplyDeleteMiles, don't worry. I'm planning on it.
DeleteIn the end of 2015, I went to an R5 concert in Las Vegas. I'm going to Vegas again today cuz my sister is dancing there.
ReplyDeleteExits:
ReplyDeletex29. Break My Heart (!!!)
x31. Kissing Strangers
Thank you so much for that throwback pick!
ReplyDeleteAnd very interesting to see that Selena Gomez has your favorite and least favorite song on the countdown, haha.
Also, remember how last week your #1 recommendation for Hits 1 was Unpredictable by Olly Murs and Louisa Johnson? Well, I heard that song on the YouTube15 yesterday.
Lastly, you may or may not remember this, but I think Good Time, Good Life was the theme representation for the Oscars back in February.
I did hear that commercial.
DeleteNice Post, Adrian! Always!
ReplyDeleteMy 4th Of July countdown post is out!
http://sxmhits1wc.blogspot.com/2017/07/ed-sheeran-3-week-of-july-1-2017.html
Nobody answered on my blog so I will ask this here: Does the font of a post change your desire to read it?
ReplyDeleteFor me, yes.
DeleteHow?
DeleteWould anyone like it if I made a reacting to me two years ago post?
ReplyDeleteSure. I'd be interested in reading that. :)
DeleteWelcome back, Durp. We all miss you.
DeleteCountdown is out!
ReplyDeleteT45 Mania is Out! link below‼️
ReplyDeletehttp://hiits1weekendcountdown.blogspot.com/2017/07/t45-mania-7317.html?m=1
Most missed song: Rae Sremmurd - Come Get Her
ReplyDeleteSomebody come get her...
DeleteWell, it was originally gonna be Throw Sum Mo because I got it stuck in my head a lot for some reason, but then this popped up on my Spotify radio. And now we're here.
Delete#1 Recommendation for Hits 1: Bruno Mars - Perm
ReplyDeleteAdrian wouldn't like this song.
DeleteI don't even like that song, it's the worst off of 24K Magic.
DeleteWas listening to Hits1 and I heard Glorious! I was so happy!...
ReplyDeleteThen...
"Discover ear-popping music on Hit-Bound with Mikey Piff!"
I was like wtf? In the middle of the week?
And then my mother said: it is the fourth of July for United States.
Shoot.
I'm going to stop commenting on this blog because I hate the approval thing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it needs to stop. I think it's about time to turn it off because there aren't any more problems within the community here. It's also seemed to decrease activity within the blogs, so if that can be turned off then everything'll go up a step.
DeleteLast week's countdown post is now out.
ReplyDeleteI heard Redbone debuted Hit Bound. I listened to that song and it is horrible.
ReplyDeletePREACH!!!!
DeleteParker, it is not okay to call people a preach.
DeleteNo, I was preaching your message, because me listening to Redbone is the equivalent of someone beating my ears with a sledgehammer.
DeleteStop it Parker!!!
DeleteHopefully Redbone leaves Hit Bound and never get announced by Spyder Harrison on the weekend countdown.
ReplyDeleteREDBONE IS DEBUTING THE COUNTDOWN NEXT WEEK!!!
DeleteNo it shouldn't.
DeleteBecause I hate that song.
DeleteIf Redbone debuts the countdown, I will call the cops on that song.
ReplyDeleteAnd it will be my worst song of 2017.
DeleteYou never even explain why though, you and Parker never explained it at all.
DeleteI would, but my worst songs of 2017 so far post is coming soon. It'll be in there for sure.
DeleteHere's why. This song has a lazy, boring production, awful vocals and a terrible lyrical content. Also, Redbone reminds me of XO TOUR Llif3.
DeleteRedbone even reminds me of Bad & Boujee.
DeleteIt's bad, but it's not as bad as Body Like A Back Road, XO TOUR Llif3, Tunnel Vision, Drowning, Congratulations, Privacy, Bon Appetit, Look At Me, Magnolia, Bad & Boujee, Rolex, Everyday We Lit, It's Everyday Bro, Mask Off, Cold, Swang, or Play That Song.
DeleteI agree with the whole list except Congratulations
DeletePlus, I was very pleased to see Break My Heart leaving the countdown last week.
ReplyDeletehttp://mymusicreviewingblog.blogspot.com/2017/07/billboard-hot-100-71517-despacito-luis.html
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't notice my BBH100 post is out, and Adrian finally got rid of comment moderation! Hooray!
Guys calm down I'm not sure if I'm even leaving a lot has happened and I'll explain.
ReplyDeleteNEW MUSIC ALERT:
ReplyDeletePraying- Ke$ha
This song just gives me chills all over. Kesha is back. :)
DeleteLast I checked, this song was in the top 10 on iTunes. I may have said on Pulse Music Boards this will not hit #1, but I think if I am wrong I am willing to eat my own hat.
DeleteSo, bad news for Adrian and Lukas: TWIL just played as Most Wutchuwanted. I doubt it'd make its way back into the Top 10, but just a warning, haha.
ReplyDeleteHeads up, guys! Demi Lovato's new single, "Sorry Not Sorry" drops on July 11th.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your weekend countdown predictions for 7/8/17?
ReplyDeleteNo debuts
Delete#1 Recommendation for Hits 1: John Mayer - In The Blood
ReplyDeleteYay!!!
DeleteYAY NO MORE COMMENT MODERATION!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDON'T EVER COME BACK!!!
Eh, don't jinx it, someone could say something that could get out of hand and make him turn it on again…
DeleteIf he turns it on AGAIN, then this place would be glum as ever...
DeleteAs if this place isn't already dull, boring, and uninteresting already. He hasn't even posted last week's post yet, and the average of comments has plummeted since then.
DeleteNew music!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAdam Lambert - Two Fux
It was released June 30.

Wild Thoughts
Scott: Agreed. She might've gotten sick of all the exits by now anyway.
DeleteExcept Starving, which despite testing the patience of EVERYONE here except her, is somehow still in her Top 5 picks to this day.
DeleteWhile Starving doesn't infuriate me as much, I'm still extremely tired of it and I want it to leave too.
DeleteShe also still has Bad Things has her #1.
DeleteAnd Swalla in her bottom 5.
DeleteYou wanna know what's REALLY sad?
DeleteThis is Starving's 43rd week on the countdown. Guess what massive smash it's now outlasted by one week.
Uptown Funk?
DeleteWhat??? It Ain't Me is never going to hit #1 at this point.
Delete^^^^^
DeleteYes it should.
Delete@Miles: Correct. Uptown Funk debuted 11/22 if memory serves, and departed 9/12.
DeleteStarving debuted 9/17 and as of 7/8 is still here. I think it's very telling that a song that didn't even make the Top 10 on Billboard has here outlasted one of the most overplayed songs in pop history.
4th of July countdown post is out!
ReplyDeleteWow! I can't believe that the Durp idiot decided to post! I hate their posts but still I can't believe it!

Please stop with the long gap in between the songs.
DeleteWell, I used to do that myself, but mainly for spoilers for people who haven't listened to the whole thing and don't want to have it ruined for them.
DeleteNo Top 5 Entrants for the third week in a row.
ReplyDeleteWait what is the top 5 again? I'm too lazy to go back and check.
Delete^Look at this post.
DeleteWe've got a new #1 for this week. Castle On The Hill dropped to #5.
ReplyDeleteI'll be happy with the #1 as long as it's not SJLT. Would be nice to see a week at #1 for Imagine Dragons.
DeleteI guess I'll root for Believer and TNHMB although I've never heard them. The other three I don't like or don't care for.
DeleteDecided to skim through both. Believer is okay. TNHMB is good, but I think Shawn tried a little too hard on the vocals.
DeleteI'd be okay with Believer at #1 at some point.
DeleteAdrian, on the other hand...
It's either gonna be Shawn Mendes or The Chainsmokers for #1.
ReplyDeleteShawn please.
DeleteShawn Mendes is #1 this week!!!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, Sasha's gonna be pissed big time.
DeleteHello.
Delete-Nigel
Stop it Chase.

ReplyDeleteBut what about Hit Bound?
ReplyDeleteNow, I know why comment moderation was on, it was to prevent Chase from running our lives.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteNo, it was on because there was an anonymous commenter saying disgusting things and everyone was fighting. Chase could be a possible reason for this comment moderation, but it was more from the anonymous commenter.
DeleteMy countdown is out!

Most missed song: YG/Drake/Kamiyah - Why You Always Hatin?
ReplyDeleteCalm down guys just stating the obvious isn't gonna help and I'm not gonna quit I kinda lost my phone (not really supposed to be on here rn) and a few other things happened. I'll have a post out next week but please understand I have a life.
ReplyDeleteAdrian, I don't want to sound rude, but are you going to get last week's post out, or not?
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteIt's finally off! Now I can comment safely again.
DeleteGood, then maybe you should get rid of comment moderation on your blog then!
DeleteIt's off on my blog, I didn't even turn it on in the 1st place when I thought I did.
DeleteFail.
DeleteAdrian still hasn't had his post out. Maybe he was on vacation.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe something bad happened to him.
DeleteHe's probably just taking his time on his post.
DeleteMaybe, but every time he's not posting comments or posts, I always go into worry mode that something bad happened to him.
DeleteOr maybe he had an interview for college.
DeleteAnd yet, we don't even know what's what.
DeleteJust heard L.A. Love (not Devotee) and America's Sweetheart on Hits 1. I don't know why Hits 1 decides to play like 5 random non-hit songs in a row sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI heard Blurred Lines and Shake It Off.
DeleteBut they were popular. The two songs I mentioned above were less popular on Hits 1.
DeleteAmerica's Sweetheart should have been a hit, in my opinion.
Delete#1 Recommendation for Hits 1: Julia Brennan - Inner Demons
