New Entrants
~ Going in order from least favorite to favorite, we start with Lukas Graham – You're Not There. After two totally different songs that got two totally different opinions from me, I didn't really know what to expect going into this song. But I have to say, I really like this song. It is a whole lot more like the amazing 7 Years than the shitty Mama Said. I think Lukas Graham should just stick to these kinds of slower songs because obviously, these are what work best for them. The lyrical content is amazing like it was on 7 Years and the vocals sound really good. Overall, very enjoyable song and I wish it success.
~ Next we have Fitz & The Tantrums with the undeniably catchy HandClap. I have enjoyed quite a few songs from this band like Out Of My League and The Walker. So I was excited to see that they had new music out. HandClap is a fantastic song. The production is very good. It's very loud and it's very fun. It's one of those songs that just makes you want to get up and move. The vocals are really good. Overall, it's just a really fun song that I hope does well on here. And it was very popular on Alt Nation (channel 36) having landed at #4 on their Alt 36 of 2016.
~ Finally, the best debut of the week comes from Shawn Mendes with probably the best track off of Illuminate, Mercy. Shawn Mendes has always been one to include a good use of instrumentation in his music. Mercy certainly has more of that as opposed to Treat You Better. Treat You Better was a lot more radio-friendly, while Mercy is the better written and better produced track in my opinion. The vocals on here are fantastic. Like I said, the lyrics and production are amazing as well. You can definitely the emotion in this song when that chorus comes in. Overall, it is a fantastic song that I really hope can do well. This is definitely one of Shawn Mendes' best singles so far.
Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:
- Daya – Words
- Ed Sheeran – Shape Of You (DEBUT)
- Machine Gun Kelly/Camila Cabello – Bad Things
- Maty Noyes – In My Mind
- Dua Lipa – Blow Your Mind (Mwah)
- Gavin DeGraw – She Sets The City On Fire
- MAX/Gnash – Lights Down Low (DEBUT)
- Captain Cuts/Nateur – Love Like We Used To
- The Weeknd/Daft Punk – I Feel It Coming (DEBUT)
- Calum Scott – Dancing On My Own
- Little Mix – Shout Out To My Ex
- Rihanna – Love On The Brain
- Bruno Mars – Versace On The Floor
- Hey Violet – Guys My Age
~ First up with debuts, we have one that I'm sure everyone has heard by now, The Weeknd/Daft Punk – I Feel It Coming. It is quite different than Starboy. But it is still very good. Daft Punk have amazed me once again with the production and The Weeknd's vocals are spot on. And hey, we even get some vocals from Daft Punk! I've been waiting to hear these guys at the microphone again. Nice to see they still have those amazing voices. :)
~ Next we have MAX returning with the I Hate U, I Love U singer, Gnash. I really didn't have any expectations going into this song. But MAX is a very talented artist. He is a really good singer. Overall, it's a really great song. MAX sounds really good and I like what Gnash had to contribute. I listened to the song by watching the music video and I have to say, the video was really sweet, but sad. So if you don't like sad videos, I don't recommend this music video. But aside from that, great song.
~ Finally, we have the return of Ed Sheeran! On Friday, he released not one, but TWO new singles. And it's very nice to see the better one as the Hit-Bound debut. I'm sure Castle On The Hill will be a hit at some point. Maybe. But for now, I am really enjoying Shape Of You. It's a simple, but fantastic song. Because it's Ed Sheeran, it's pretty much certain it'll be on the countdown next week. So be ready for that and I'll talk more about it then.
~ Guys My Age is getting less and less interesting with more listens. This song just weirds me out honestly. I always go into songs with an open mind, but this one really isn't working for me. Now it's much closer to red than it is to green.
~ I'm really hoping that 2017 will be a better year for music. We can start by getting Rihanna – Love On The Brain off of Hit-Bound and out of our lives. This song will do nothing except have a negative impact on the music of 2017. I just can't stand this song. It is officially worse than Work. So if it actually becomes a hit, it will not be pretty. But it's been here for a while, so I don't anticipate it graduating to the countdown thankfully.
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Little Mix – Shout Out To My Ex
2. Ed Sheeran – Shape Of You
3. Machine Gun Kelly/Camila Cabello – Bad Things
4. MAX/Gnash – Lights Down Low
5. Maty Noyes – In My Mind
HandBlurb
~ Honestly, we all should have seen this coming. Any Maroon 5 comeback single is pretty much destined to be a #1 hit. Even if the song is a little mediocre like Don't Wanna Know, it still must be a #1 song because it's Maroon 5. I'm honestly fine with this as long as it doesn't stay there for a very long period of time. But I also prefer this song over This Town, so stay there as long as needed to keep This Town out.
~ Was the jump back into the Top 10 from Bruno Mars – 24K Magic really necessary??? I'm honestly just so tired of hearing this song. We do not need this as a #1 hit. We're looking for better music now that we're in 2017 and this will only make it worse.
~ I do however appreciate the re-entrant to the Top 10 from Scars To Your Beautiful and the new entrant from Side To Side. Of course, we did lose Starboy because of that. But oh well.
~ John Legend – Love Me Now finally got a decent boost. Now let's see this song hit the Top 20. I think it's worthy of it.
~ Steve Aoki/Louis Tomlinson – Just Hold On is not doing anything. I've been really enjoying this song and it pains me to see it holding every week. It deserves to be in the Top 20 by now. I know Hits 1 isn't gonna let this go so early. This is all they're going to get until One Direction starts releasing music again.
~ We can now rejoice as Charli XCX – After The Afterparty took a little bit of a tumble out of the Top 30. To lay it out plain and simple, this song sucks. So for mine and Scott's sake, this was very nice to see and probably one of the best things that happened on the countdown this week. Hopefully, we will see it leave next week or very soon.
~ Runaground – Chase You Down jumping into the Top 20 hitting a new peak at #18 was probably the best thing to happen this week. I've been enjoying this song very much lately and it's nice to see that it's doing pretty well.
~ I thought the drop from Pitbull/Flo Rida/LunchMoney Lewis – Greenlight was a little uncalled for. But I don't really care as I'm still losing interest in this song. It's one of those songs that can either leave next week or stay for another month or so and I won't really care either way.
~ As far as the exits go, I really didn't care for My Way. Girls Talk Boys was long overdue. But I Took A Pill In Ibiza was the one that hit me. Thank you for your service on this countdown. You will always be remembered as my #2 song of 2016. This song was easily one of the biggest highlights in music of 2016. I would love to see it win the Grammy for Song of the Year. So I wish it the best of luck.
~ I am still working on both year-end chart reviews for Hits 1 and Billboard. I will try to get those out as soon as I can.
~ The Hit 45 Chart is also currently being worked on and that will also be posted as soon as possible.

ReplyDeleteNice post, Adrian!!!!
ReplyDelete#1 Recommendation for Adrian: Panic! at the Disco - Emperor's New Clothes
ReplyDeleteYou forgot Castle on the Hill, it's the 14th HitBound song.
ReplyDeleteThat song isn't on HitBound.
DeleteNeither is Guys My Age.
DeleteNo one cares about you...
DeleteOK. Castle on the Hill was on Hit-Bound overnight, but got replaced with Guys My Age afterwards. Please stop fighting! Thanks!
DeleteTHIRD!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnough Daniel!
DeleteNice post, and thanks for the purple!
ReplyDeleteI used to hate Chase You Down but now I like it.
DeleteNice post! And wow that purple was unexpected.
ReplyDeleteAnd for the Ed Sheeran songs, I like one and is like the other. Guess which is which!
I love both Ed Sheeran songs!
Delete*And dislike
DeleteI really hope that Shape of You is the one you like. I'm really enjoying that one, so expect it to debut #40Friday next week.
DeleteI hope it's castle on the hill, but i think it's shape of you.
DeleteOther away around for me.
DeleteI've heard Shape Of You twice this weekend. I like it, but its not Don't, or Sing.
DeleteCastle on the hill just doesn't sound like something Graham will like, mostly because one may find it boring, and i get it, i can see how it's boring, i like it though. that's why i think it's shape of you, while it's weird for my liking, it sounds more energetic and probably something Graham likes more.
DeleteMost Missed Song: Charlie Puth/Selena Gomez - We Don't Talk Anymore
ReplyDeleteRecommendation For Hits 1: Zara Larasson - I Would Like
DeleteThrowback: Katy Perry - Part Of Me (2012)
Recommended Song To Leave Next Week: The Chainsmokers/Daya - Don't Let Me Down

Recommendation For You: Machine Gun Kelly/Camila Cabello - Bad Things
Recommended HitBound Dropout: Calum Scott - Dancing On My Own
Favorite Countdown Song This Week Last Year: Fifth Harmony - Worth It
Countdown Grade: C+ (78%)

DeleteThrowback pick: DMX - Where The Hood At (2003)
Recommendation To Leave Next Week: Cheap Thrills
Recommended #1: Side To Side
Recommendation For You: Everything from White Friday (CM9)
Recommended Hitbound Dropout: Love On The Brain
Favorite Countdown Song This Week Last Year: See You Again (If it was on there)
Most Missed Song?
DeleteAnd See You Again was on the countdown this week, last year.
DeleteMost Missed Song (It's not for Hits 1 but whatever): Future - F*ck Up Some Commas
DeleteMost Missed Song: Charli XCX - Break the Rules (because of After the Afterparty)

Recommended Song To Leave Next Week: Kenny Chesney/Pink - Setting the World on Fire
Recommended #1: Niall Horan - This Town
Recommendation For You: AJR - Weak

Favorite Countdown Song This Week Last Year: I didn't review the countdown back then but Tove Lo – Moments or Ellie Goulding - On My Mind (I absolutely love both of them)
And this week last year was the last week for See You Again.
Nice post as always!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you and Scott on After the Afterparty. I'm having to repair my poor ears because her vocals are kinda grating and the lyrics are meh to say least.
Mercy is my new best song of 2017 so far. I've been enjoying it lately and it really has that feel to it. Also, your thoughts are the same as mine. If I were writing this countdown, I'd put it in purple. Easily my new favorite song on the countdown.
Speaking of purple, that (Chase You Down) was kinda unexpected (for me at least). I expected All Time Low to spend every week in purple with how much you love that song. Same with Hymn For The Weekend.
And sorry Adrian, but I still want 24K Magic to hit #1 soon (and Versace On The Floor and Blow Your Mind to debut).
Montavis, I just told you that Versace on the Floor won't debut, and 24K Magic won't hit #1.
DeleteNice post as always!

Blow Your Mind is going to debut, but Versace on the Floor isn't going to debut.
DeleteAnd 24K Magic is not going to hit #1 at this point.
Delete#1 Recommendation For Hits 1: 21 Savage/Metro Boomin - No Heart
ReplyDeleteI know this probably won't happen, but I have really been enjoying this song lately, so it would be nice to see it get a little more popularity in not just the rap community, but also the mainstream charts.
Also Adrian, I completely agree with you on Love On The Brain. That song is one of the main reasons why I switched to reviewing the Hot Rap Songs chart instead of the R&B and Hip Hop chart.
DeleteParker, that's not a pop song to recommend Hits 1, it's an urban song.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteHave you even listened to it?
DeleteSo then why are you saying it's inappropriate?
DeleteProbably because it's rap, and most rap songs are inappropriate.
DeleteAnd most of the rap songs today tend to suck for many of us.
Delete#teamnorap
DeleteWell, yeah, I guess it is kind of inappropriate.

ReplyDeleteHey guys, so I wanted to address something that I said on my page, me calling Graham "bitchy" in response to Into You re-entering the Top 20.
ReplyDeleteAs we all know, we have a tendency to pull for our favorite songs to do well, even if other people can't stand them. And sometimes we say "(song x) should jump to annoy (person y)" (like Parker with Work From Home to annoy me, Miles, and to a lesser extent Adrian). And seeing as how Graham has anxiously been wanting what has been regarded by many as one of the best songs of the year (especially by those who thought this year has sucked as a whole) to leave, that was me welcoming it to stay despite what he says. He's pulled for TIWYCF to annoy us :P
So yeah. Hope nobody thought I was being super hard on him or anything.
I kinda did think that it was really mean. I mean, what makes Graham bitchy other than the fact that he hates a song you love? It just doesn't sound like something you'd do, Scott.
DeleteThat is something I would do, especially with Unsteady. And I'm doing an early weekend countdown predictions because I have the time.
DeleteTo answer your question, Parker... Well, saying something like "This will definitely go down as one of the worst songs of the year but please just leave now" and not "so please just leave now" and "There seriously isn't one good thing about this song" about a song that, as I said, many are regarding as one of the best songs of the year, seems a bit much. And if I'm being brutally honest, I do feel like he can get pretty negative in general. I mean, there's a part of me that wants to say, "We get it already, you hate the song and don't see its appeal, quit being whiny". I don't mean that in the most aggressive way possible, and I get that it's his opinion and all, but sometimes I feel like his negativity can get grating, but not as much as certain other people I won't name, though.
DeleteThat being said, just imagine if I had been blogging while Uptown Funk and Shut Up and Dance were big...
I'm probably one of the "certain other people" obviously along with another person.
DeleteI can get why you would think that I consider you one of them, but you're not.
DeleteI'm sure we all know who one of them is.
Um yeah I think I know. I can be sometimes but I don't think it's me.
DeleteYeah... I guess I was pretty hard on Mama Said.
DeleteHey Adrian, one question: What part of Guys My Age weirds you out to the point where you're gonna have it in red soon?
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuMuEWvbbPo
ReplyDeleteI wonder how Jack, Graham and so many will react to #7.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPI3lrOzz-s
Ha, that #5 will piss of a lot of Shawn Mendes fangirls.
But #4, considering I really was expecting Meghan Trainor, not this to be on here, this was not what most people would have expected.
So apparently #3 is the worst of the trap/soul genre?
Well . will be happy about that #1, the rest of us are gonna be really angry and disappointed at Todd though.
I wasn't. I saw that #1 coming, as I saw his review where he thrashed it.
DeleteI was very surprised he didn't have Dangerous Woman there, though, as he tweeted pretty hard on that song after he reviewed Pillowtalk.
It's weird how so many people are choosing Sucker for pain as their background. And i'm sad about #4, and kind of about #1, everything else i don't care about.
DeleteHe's said that he's gonna have a tough time making a best list this year… But I can say that Into You and 24K Magic will both be on that list for sure, along with potentially Formation or Sorry.
DeleteI like #17 on the countdown this week. Hope it stays with us a little bit longer.

DeleteHere's one song that I like:
ReplyDeleteAfter the after the party we're gonna keep it going
We're gonna rip it up, the neighbours might complain
I think it's almost 4am but baby I'm still feeling just fine
Ice all up in a plastic cup and I'ma keep on sipping all night, yeah
I might a kissed a thousand lips but maybe that's just all in my mind
Some people never understand the way we live but we're living life
Uh huh, hey, uh huh, Monday to Sunday, it's never too late
So everyone say, "we don't wanna stop!"
'Cause after the afterparty, we're gonna keep it goin'
We're gonna rip it up, the neighbours might complain
'Cause after the afterparty, we're gonna stay 'til mornin'
Then when the time is up, we'll do it all again
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
We're all in love
We're all in love
I'm hangin' on my best friend's couch and my clothes are all on the floor
I got glitter in my underwear like it was Studio 54, yeah
I can't remember why I love it, but I need it baby, clap, bring on the encore
Let's pour another drink, the glasses go
Yeah, we're always up for one more
Uh huh, hey, uh huh, Monday to Sunday, it's never too late
So everyone say, "we don't wanna stop!"
'Cause after the afterparty, we're gonna keep it goin'
We're gonna rip it up, the neighbors might complain
'Cause after the afterparty (afterparty)
We're gonna stay 'til mornin' (stay 'til mornin')
Then when the time is up, we'll do it again (oh yeah)
The party just ended but I'm not done with you
My folks are out of town, we got a crib with a view
Come over, bring a couple friends, I keep mine with me
Shout out to Whitney, she was so wicked
The party was so crazy, the party was so crazy
Tomorrow I'll be lazy but I'll spend it with you baby
Monday to Sunday doing it our way
RiRi on replay, cheers to the weekday
We're all in, we're all in love, yeah
Drop, drop, drop, drop, drop
And we do it like ice cream for dinner
Bucket of liqueur, we're getting sicker
Don't need Ibiza
We're all in, we're all in love, yeah
Drop, drop, drop, drop, drop
And we do it like
Monday to Sunday doing it our way
RiRi on replay, cheers to the weekday
We're all in, we're all in love, yeah
'Cause after the afterparty, we're gonna keep it goin'
We're gonna rip it up, the neighbours might complain
'Cause after the afterparty (afterparty), we're gonna stay 'til mornin' (stay 'til mornin')
Then when the time is up, we'll do it all again (oh yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
We're all in, we're all in love, yeah
Monday to Sunday doing it our way
RiRi on replay, cheers to the weekday
We're all in, we're all in love, yeah
Here's another song that I like:
Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I’m a little unsteady
A little unsteady
Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I’m a little unsteady
A little unsteady
Mama, come here
Approach, appear
Daddy, I’m alone
'Cause this house don’t feel like home
If you love me, don’t let go
If you love me, don’t let go
Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I’m a little unsteady
A little unsteady
Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I’m a little unsteady
A little unsteady
Mother, I know
That you’re tired of being alone
Dad, I know you’re trying
To fight when you feel like flying
If you love me, don’t let go
If you love me, don’t let go
Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I’m a little unsteady
A little unsteady
Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I’m a little unsteady
A little unsteady
Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I’m a little unsteady
A little unsteady
First song is awesome. Only Graham, Jack, you, and I like it. Second is really old and must leave soon though.
Delete1 song i like:
DeleteI took a pill in Ibiza
To show Avicii I was cool
And when I finally got sober, felt ten years older
But fuck it, it was something to do
I'm living out in LA
I drive a sports car just to prove
I'm a real big baller 'cause I made a million dollars
And I spend it on girls and shoes
But you don't wanna be high like me
Never really knowing why like me
You don't ever wanna step off that roller coaster
And be all alone
You don't wanna ride the bus like this
Never knowing who to trust like this
You don't wanna be stuck up on that stage singing
Stuck up on that stage singing
All I know, are sad songs, sad songs
Darling, all I know, are sad songs, sad songs
I know, sad songs
I know, sad songs
I know, sad songs
I know, sad songs
I'm just a singer who already blew his shot
I get along with old timers
'Cause my name's a reminder of a pop song people forgot
And I can't keep a girl, no
'Cause as soon as the sun comes up
I cut 'em all loose and work's my excuse
But the truth is I can't open up
Now you don't wanna be high like me
Never really knowing why like me
You don't ever wanna step off that roller coaster
And be all alone
You don't wanna ride the bus like this
Never knowing who to trust like this
You don't wanna be stuck up on that stage singing
Stuck up on that stage singing
All I know are sad songs, sad songs
Darling, all I know are sad songs, sad songs
I know, sad songs
I know, sad songs
Sad songs, I know, sad songs
Sad songs, I know, sad songs
Another song i like:
I just wanna stay in the sun where I find
I know it's hard sometimes
Pieces of peace in the sun's peace of mind
I know it's hard sometimes
Yeah, I think about the end just way too much
But it's fun to fantasize
On my enemies who wouldn't wish who I was
But it's fun to fantasize
Oh, oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my ride
Oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my ride
Taking my time on my ride
"I'd die for you," that's easy to say
We have a list of people that we would take
A bullet for them, a bullet for you
A bullet for everybody in this room
But I don't seem to see many bullets coming through
See many bullets coming through
Metaphorically, I'm the man
But literally, I don't know what I'd do
"I'd live for you," and that's hard to do
Even harder to say when you know it's not true
Even harder to write when you know that tonight
There were people back home who tried talking to you
But then you ignored them still
All these questions they're for real
Like "Who would you live for?",
"Who would you die for?"
And "Would you ever kill?"
Oh, oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my ride
Oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my ride
Taking my time on my ride
I've been thinking too much
I've been thinking too much
I've been thinking too much
I've been thinking too much
(help me)
I've been thinking too much (I've been thinking too much)
I've been thinking too much (Help me)
I've been thinking too much (I've been thinking too much)
I've been thinking too much
Oh, oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my ride
Oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time
Taking my time on my ride
Oh, oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my ride
Oh, I'm falling, so I'm taking my time on my
I've been thinking too much
Help me
I've been thinking too much
Help me
I've been thinking too much (I've been thinking too much)
I've been thinking too much (help me)
I've been thinking too much (I've been thinking too much)
I've been thinking too much
Help me
Ah yes, two pretty solid songs right there.
DeleteWell, one of which I was about to grow out of but then got hypnotized into liking again.

DeleteI knew you were
DeleteYou were gonna come to me
And here you are
But you better choose carefully
'Cause I’m capable of anything
Of anything and everything
Make me your Aphrodite
Make me your one and only
But don’t make me your enemy, your enemy, your enemy
So you wanna play with magic
Boy, you should know whatcha falling for
Baby do you dare to do this
'Cause I’m coming at you like a dark horse
Are you ready for, ready for
A perfect storm, a perfect storm
'Cause once you’re mine, once you’re mine
There’s no going back
Mark my words
This love will make you levitate
Like a bird
Like a bird without a cage
But down to earth
If you choose to walk away, don’t walk away
It’s in the palm of your hand now baby
It’s a yes or no, no maybe
So just be sure before you give it up to me
Up to me, give it up to me
So you wanna play with magic
Boy, you should know whatcha falling for
Baby do you dare to do this
'Cause I’m coming at you like a dark horse
Are you ready for, ready for
A perfect storm, a perfect storm
'Cause once you’re mine, once you’re mine
There’s no going back
She’s a beast
I call her Karma
She eat your heart out
Like Jeffrey Dahmer
Be careful
Try not to lead her on
Shawty’s heart was on steroids
'Cause her love was so strong
You may fall in love
When you meet her
If you get the chance you better keep her
She swears by it but if you break her heart
She turn cold as a freezer
That fairy tale ending with a knight in shining armor
She can be my Sleeping Beauty
I’m gon’ put her in a coma
Woo, damn I think I love her
Shawty so bad
I’m sprung and I don’t care
She got me like a roller coaster
Turn the bedroom into a fair
Her love is like a drug
I was tryin'a hit it and quit it
But lil’ mama so dope
I messed around and got addicted
So you wanna play with magic
Boy, you should know whatcha falling for
Baby do you dare to do this
'Cause I’m coming at you like a dark horse
Are you ready for, ready for
A perfect storm, a perfect storm
'Cause once you’re mine, once you’re mine
There’s no going back
This is songs that you like that will annoy everyone else you idiot!
DeleteStop it. It's a song she likes. I like it too, and maybe a couple other people here like it too.
DeleteThat's one of my favorite songs of the year 2014, and better than pretty much every song on the Pulse.
DeleteWhat are your bottom 5 songs of this week Adrian? Please tell me that Cheap Thrills is part of it.
ReplyDeleteThis Week in Billboard Chart History: In 2000, Christina Aguilera Was the 'Girl' at No. 1 on the Hot 100
ReplyDeleteWhat a Girl Wants" became the first song to rise to No. 1 in the 2000s. Plus, remembering feats by Whitney Houston, Usher & Garth Brooks
Jan. 9, 1988
Whitney Houston notched her sixth of a record seven consecutive Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, as "So Emotional" rose 2-1.
Jan. 10, 1998
Usher spent his first week at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with My Way. To date, his five leaders on the list have reigned for a cumulative 25 weeks.
Jan. 11, 2003
Christina Aguilera began a four-week reign on the Pop Songs chart with her empowerment anthem "Beautiful."
Jan. 12, 1991
Garth Brooks took over atop Hot Country Songs with his plaintive ballad "Unanswered Prayers." All four singles from parent album No Fences topped the tally; "Prayers" followed "Friends in Low Places." "Two of a Kind, Workin' on a Full House" and "The Thunder Rolls" would become the set's third and fourth leaders, respectively.
Jan. 13, 1990
We were all a part of it: Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" conquered the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Jan. 14, 1989
Bobby Brown hit heights that he didn't as part of New Edition: his solo smash "My Prerogative" topped the Billboard Hot 100. In 1990, he'd add a second No. 1 apart from the group as featured on Glenn Medeiros' "She Ain't Worth It." Meanwhile, Britney Spears would take her cover of "My Prerogative" to No. 22 on the Pop Songs chart in 2004.
Jan. 15, 2000
More Xtina x-cellence: The first song to ascend to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 2000s? Seventeen years ago today, Christina Aguilera earned the honor with "What a Girl Wants."

DeleteI heard HandClap on the bus on my way home.
ReplyDeleteEw...
DeleteIf you're wondering my reply to the Scott thing, I left a comment on his blog. And WC will be out later today, sorry for the delay.
ReplyDeleteHot 100 so far:
ReplyDelete1. Bad and Boujee (this is not a joke)
2. Black Beatles
3. Closer
4. Starboy
5. 24K Magic
6. Side to Side
7. Don't Wanna Know
8. Let Me Love You
9. Fake Love
10. Bad Things
12. Scars to Your Beautiful
14. I Don't Wanna Live Forever
18. Bounce Back
NOTE: Shape of you will debut NEXT week, but is new on the radio charts at #41.
DeleteMore hot 100 so far:
21: Love on the brain
38: Water under the bridge
40: You was right(By Lil Uzi Vert)
51: Chajante(By Shakira and Maluma)
61: Rockabye
Fun Fact: LIL UZI VERT is one of the first people to have their first hit make #1 and their second enter the top 40 on the same week, The Beatles did it too.
Of course the Beatles did it. They actually composed the entire top 5 in the same week once.
DeleteAnd go You Was Right and Rockabye! I'm rooting for you!
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteWrong, Lil Uzi Vert is a guy, not people.
DeleteNo it isn't it will be next week idiot.
DeleteShape of You is most likely not going to debut this week, and Daniel's sentence is correct the way it is.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteIs Castle on the Hill also debuting the Billboard Hot 100 next week also?
DeleteAnd Daniel, you better not call me anything, that's not appropriate.
DeleteI'm pretty sure this is turning into the Jokeboard Hot 100.
ReplyDeleteSorry that was meant to be a reply.
DeleteThat's okay, Graham.
DeleteFun fact, Castle on the hill is following the same path as 7 years, as it dates different times, like 6 and 15.
ReplyDeleteNo it's not, it's just the way it is.

DeleteHere are some hints about my most missed song. Try to guess it. (Level easy)
ReplyDelete-The artist had one of the three-weekers from 2016.
-This song is also from 2016, but it was not the three-weeker.
-Miles did not like this song.
Messin Around!
DeleteShe's got me like na na na na na
DeleteNa na na na na na na na (Mister Worldwide)
She's got that look in her eyes
Enrique Iglesias
Like she wants to mess around
Enrique, talk to 'em
I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another you been messin' around
I'm hoping that your friend, too, told you about me, too
'Cause I'mma tell you straight up, I been messin' around
I been messin' around (I been, I been)
I been messin' around (I been, I been)
I been messin' around (I been, I been)
Yeah, I been messin' around

When you act like a bad girl, I like that
That little sexy look you got, mmh, I like that
The way you whisper in my ear how you want it when you want it, girl, I like that
Let's go, baby, let's ride
Let's not talk about it, let's do it
How you want it, in the suspension
Both of them
We can get freaky in the morning or in the afternoon
We can go all night long, baby, it's all up to you
You can get it sexy if you want to
And you can bring your girls if you want to
And we can hit the crib if you want to
And we can mess around if you want
Tell me, you want to?
I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another that you been messin' around

I been messin' around (I been, I been)
I been messin' around (I been, I been)
Yeah, I been messin' around
Enrique, let's break it down right quick
I'm ready, girl, are you ready?
I'm ready, girl, are you ready?
I'm ready, girl, are you ready?
I'm ready, girl, are you ready?
The way you talk dirty, yeah, I like that
The way you bring other girls, yeah, I like that
The way you wear them heels, yeah, I like that
No thong up under that skirt, ooh, I like that
And you can get crazy, yeah, that's cool
You can get loose, yeah, that's cool
Yeah, that's cool
Let's jump on the bar, yeah, that's cool
Let's push the gas, I'm like ooh
I don't mean to be rude, but I swear to god
There's so many things that I'd love to do to you
You can get it sexy if you want to
And you can bring your girls if you want to
And we can hit the crib if you want to
And we can mess around if you want to
Tell me, you want to?
I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another that you been messin' around
I'm hoping that your friend, too, told you about me, too
'Cause I'mma tell you straight up, I been messin' around

I'm ready, girl, are you ready?
I'm ready, girl, are you ready?
I'm ready, girl, are you ready?
I'm ready, girl, are you ready?

DeleteHey guys, check out your blogs for any comments by Chase.
Of course I'm not.
DeleteTHAT PROVES IT
DeleteYOU ARE SLIDERONTHEBACK
DeleteOf course I'm not also Hollow Man, you f*cking DanielEsmoines.
DeleteAhHA!
DeleteI highly doubt that Hollow Man is SOTB. And watch your language!
DeleteSo, what are you going to say to this, DanielESmoines?
DeleteWhat? You post it so early that you know you wrote it!
DeleteAnd what?
DeleteI'm calling it, SOTB is Katetronaut.
Delete@. In order to have a second blogger account, you need to have a second email. I only have one.
DeleteAnd Daniel, whenever you say that someone is actually someone else, usually the person who says that actually IS the someone else. And just because I said "Of course I'm not" does not prove that I am SOTB.
you even remember her? Where's her comments.
DeleteI don't know how many emails you have! Also it doesn't have to be an email, and i saw your comment:
Delete"Hey guys, watch out for some comments by chase".
I'm in bed with the lights off, my parents don't even know that I'm on my phone right now. So I can't find her comments right now.
Deleteoka, but why do you think that this SOTB is kateranout in the house?
Delete@DanieESmoines I was replying to your comment about what was the comment that I removed from my blog. Those were the exact words. I forgot to say that that hacker wrote it. Sorry for any confusion. And of course I'm not SOTB.
DeleteThese two sound exactly the same, except that SOTB used the f-word. And Old Parker was much different.
DeleteWhat two, and old parker?
Delete@Daniel SOTB and Katetronaut
DeleteAnd please read my explanation above. That was why I said that in the first place.
Excuses excuses!
DeleteThe two are SOTB and Kate. Also earlier in 2016, Parker used to be a troll. He claims he got hacked but I don't think that's true, even though I do really like him as an internet friend. Oh my goodness, Parker's comments put all of us through hell, even Chase. And I know for sure that SOTB's comments will do the same as Parker's.
DeleteOh, so you still believe I'm SOTB! Well, you have no proof!
DeleteI'm going to bed now. See you in 8 hours.
DeleteYes, i have proof, and i'll never forgive you for this!
DeleteWhere is it?
DeleteIn my head, where you can reach it.
DeleteIn your head! Ha! Well guess what, you can believe what you want. But you will never convince anyone else to believe the same thing, because the other people are a much more careful assumer than you are!
DeleteAnd I will believe that you are SOTB.
DeleteDaniel
DeleteAlso, even if I was SOTB, you'd think I'd be so stupid to give myself away?
DeleteWell I'm not as stupid as you are, Daniel, for assuming things.
And i'm fine, Because i know your SOTB and i can still rant on it all i want, because i have my proof and i can say what i want, i still believe your SOTB and i will always believe that because i have proof of that, thank you, SLIDERONTHEBACK.
DeleteSince you can say what you want, I can say what I want.
DeleteAnd I don't care if you think I'm SOTB. Believe all you want, loser.
Also, the first time I asked you, you said that it was in your head. That really means that you have no proof.
DeleteOh... and anyone can say "watch out for comments by chase", you loser.
And I'm not the only one besides SOTB that has said something like this, loser.
Also ., when you wake up, can you show me some comments of those people?

DeleteAlso, who cares if he's not updating a post? He might be on vacation or something who cares? He hasn't commented either.
DeleteThat's it. Hollow Man, forget about what Daniel said and leave blogspot if you want to. I think Daniel is a cyberbully.
DeleteIt's been less than a half an hour since I've seen this new blogger, and I already don't like him.
ReplyDeleteI don't even know this anonymous spam hacker, what is this?
DeleteIt's you, DanielESmoines!
DeleteThat's what you get for assuming things.
DeleteOh fine, shut up then i'm not your freind!
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteNo.
DeleteI've been gone for about a day and already we have a flame war in these comments. Daniel, Hollow Man, both of you need to stop arguing about this. Forget about this SOTB person, and move on for God's sake.
ReplyDeleteAnd before anyone asks, no its not me, because I haven't been on here for about a day. I've been sleeping for 14 hours, and just woke up a half hour ago.
Daniel and Hollow Man, you two need to stop it. I am 90% sure that both of you are not SOTB and you two just made up the fact that the other is SOTB. Just imagine someone standing in his house, looking at these comments and eating popcorn because he's happy that he just drove a freakin' wedge between you two. Trolls can not have power.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah Miles, like we'll forget about SOTB.
