For anyone who didn't watch the iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party, which took Thursday night, there were some cool performances by Chris Brown, Echosmith, Shaggy, Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj w/ David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, and the host himself, Nick Jonas. New Entrants
~ Everyone should remember Jess Glynne as being the singer in the 2014 hit, Clean Bandit – Rather Be. Her debut this week, Hold My Hand, really is nothing special (at the moment at least). I think it's just another song to fill the countdown.
~ Rachel Platten debuted this week with the inspirational Fight Song. I tend to not really like songs with the word "song" in the title (i.e. Kelly Clarkson – Heartbeat Song). But I am definitely enjoying this one. I hope to see some success out of this song.
This Is My Blurb Song
~ Taylor Swift – Bad Blood just missed a perfect opportunity to have hit #1 within 4 weeks on the countdown. The record for the shortest amount of time is currently held by Katy Perry – Roar.
~ Great. The last thing this countdown needed was for the Top 5 to be infected by the annoying Jason Derulo. But with our #1 and #3 songs, I don't see it getting that much higher.
~ This is the second straight week Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud had the Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week. #SorryNotSorry
~ One Direction – Night Changes is getting really annoying now. I don't want to hate this song any more than I already do.
~ Magic! – No Way No and Meghan Trainor – Dear Future Husband made some little comebacks. I am indeed happy about it.
~ I was having an argument with one of my friends earlier. We were arguing what the most overplayed song of 2015 was. I said Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk but my friend said Taylor Swift – Blank Space. Then we kind of argued back and forth.
~ I can definitely see Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You hitting the Top 10 soon. I can remember back in March when I was jamming out to this song the day it was released saying that it better be a hit.
~ Nicki Minaj – The Night Is Still Young is on Hit-Bound. I want it on this countdown as soon as possible!
~ Cody Simpson – New Problems may sadly be leaving us soon. It was a sweet song while it lasted.
~ I can predict Twenty One Pilots – Tear In My Heart being a big hit. I, of course, don't want that.
~ Shoot me now. Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman is a Breakout Track on American Top 40. This song is definitely one of the most annoying songs of the year.
~ Sam Hunt – Take Your Time is most likely going to be a Top 10 song. Maybe even a Top 5 song.
~ In songs that are on the Hits 1 playlist but none of the weekend shows news, we have Flo Rida/Robin Thicke/Verdine White – I Don't Like It, I Love It. I guess you can say it's catchy. Robin Thicke has some nice vocals. And of course you have the usual Flo Rida "rapping".
~ Sometime next week, Adam Lambert's new album, The Original High, will be released. I have been anticipating this release since I first heard Ghost Town. I just love Adam Lambert. He's so.....he's so.........fabulous!!!
~ The Hit 45 Chart for this weekend is out! Will David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, Afrojack, and Bebe Rexha hold the #1 spot for a second week in row?!?! You'll have to hang on to find out.

Adrian i agree uptown funk is the most overplayed song of 2015
ReplyDeleteI think it's Sugar or ThinkingOutLoud
DeleteNo. It's definitely Uptown Funk. It spent 4 weeks at #1 on AT40 while Sugar spent 3 and Thinking Out Loud spent 2. It also spent 14 weeks at #1 on Billboard Hot 100 while neither Sugar nor Thinking Out Loud ever hit #1. It even spent more weeks at #1 on this countdown than the other two songs have.
DeleteYeah, I changed my mind.
DeleteOverall most overplayed: Uptown Funk.
Most overplayed on Hits 1: Blank Space.
I agree
DeleteActually, most overplayed is Uptown Funk.
DeleteDfh is old now 2nd worst song on the countdown
ReplyDeleteNight Changes is the most overplayed song this year.
ReplyDeleteAbout the Uptown Funk v. Blank Space overplaying thing:
ReplyDeleteYOU'RE BOTH RIGHT!!!!!! :D

NOO SUGAR! :)
DeleteSometimes in YouTube today, I went to watch a music video and they will sometimes give me this One Direction AD which makes Night Changes become turquoise.
DeleteUptown Funk is overplayed and Blank Space comes at a close second. Sugar comes in 3rd while Night Changes isn't at all over played yet.
DeleteIts uptown funk

Delete~Austin
Nah ;) I chew lots of gum tho (autocorrect tried to make me type film instead of gum). And no I do not chew film :)
DeleteThere's no question that Uptown Funk! Is the most overplayed sing of the year. See you Again might come close, since it's in it'd eighth week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
ReplyDeleteAwesome countdown this week, except the fact that fall out boy- centuries is at (#44) what's with that?!
ReplyDeleteI'm annoyed that it's still here. It's not popular anymore and it was extremely overplayed on this station.
DeleteIt also looks like Earned It and Centuries are reaching the end of their time on the countdown.
DeleteWhich Is Better?
ReplyDelete-Kelly Clarkson- Heartbeat Song
Or
-Rachel Platten- Fight Song

This may seem stupid, but how do you get pages on the bar across the top of your blog? Please help, anyone!
ReplyDeleteIt's a sidebar called pages just put it in gadget at the top of the blog not side... I think :()

DeleteThis is the second week in a row that there are 2 exits, 2 debuts, and 3 songs entering hitbound and BTW, this and last week had 14 songs on hitbound.
ReplyDeleteI posted the entire list of 15 songs. See my post above.
