Mark Ronson (3) – Week Of February 21, 2015

This week was definitely a good week. We have a few songs debuting directly into the countdown and a couple of Hit-Bound graduates. Also, two records were formed this week. Find out what they are in the blurbs. Also, earlier this week, I had a massive cold and I just felt miserable. I felt horrible on Thursday, and luckily they cancelled school that day because of extremely cold temperatures and windchills. I'm feeling better now though, thankfully. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

New Entrants
~ We'll go from worst to best entrant. First we have LunchMoney Lewis – Bills. Is this some kind of joke? Some kind of sick joke? Because it's not funny. The song sounds incredibly stupid. It sounds like something Weird Al Yankovic would produce. Except Weird Al Yankovic is better. This song could possibly be orange at some point in its countdown tenure. But it's really annoying that this is the highest debut of the week.

~ Next we have Priory – Weekend. I have hated this song since I first heard it, which was last year. After an obnoxiously long Hit-Bound tenure, it managed to graduated to the countdown. This song is incredibly dull, bland, generic, and just plain out boring! Like Bills, I would like this to not stay here long.

~ Tori Kelly debuted this week with Nobody Love, a song I had to listen to like, five times before I could settle on what I thought about it. The verses are a little annoying, but she makes up for that in the somewhat catchy chorus. I really don't know. For now, the song is okay.

~ R5 – Let's Not Be Alone Tonight debuted this week. The song is really interesting and catchy. Energertic is the first word that pops into my head when I hear the song. Whether or not it's better than Smile, I don't really know. I would have to listen to this song I few more times. Please stay longer than how long Heart Made Up On You was here for.

~ The second best entrant this week is the super catchy Nova Rockafeller – Made In Gold. It's kinda like a combination of The Chainsmoker – #SELFIE and AronChupa – I'm An Albatraoz. It's really fun to jam out to. I can understand if people would find this song annoying. But to me, it's one of my new jams.

~ Our best entrant comes from the one and only Rihanna with her comeback single, FourFiveSeconds. It's a very interesting title. Kanye West and Paul McCartney are featured in it. It's one of those times Kanye West actually sounds good in a song. I have mixed feelings about him as a person after telling Beck he should've gave his Album Of The Year award to Beyoncé. But whatever. I hope this song can have a good countdown tenure, unlike Right Now and What Now from 2013-2014.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list (I only saw 13 songs, so I might be missing 1):

  • Rixton – Hotel Ceiling
  • Shawn Mendes – Life Of The Party
  • Tove Lo – Talking Body
  • Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding – Outside
  • Ariana Grande – One Last Time
  • Echosmith – Bright
  • Natalie La Rose/Jeremih – Somebody
  • Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
  • AJR – Infinity
  • Betty Who – All Of You
  • Ryan Cabrera – House On Fire
  • Sam Smith – Lay Me Down
  • Flo Rida/Sage The Gemini/Lookas – GDFR
  • Nick Jonas – Chains
  • Cash Cash/Julia Michaels – Surrender

Top 5 Songs Of Hit-Bound
1. Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding – Outside
2. Nick Jonas – Chains
3. Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
4. Rixton – Hotel Ceiling
5. Natalie La Rose/Jeremih – Somebody

Nah, Nah Blurbey I'm Good
~ Charli XCX – Boom Clap is the very first song to have been in both purple and orange for at least one week in its countdown tenure. Very interesting.

~ Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass is the very first song to have been in orange every single week it was on the countdown. Also very interesting.

~ Fall Out Boy – Centuries was obviously going to jump back into the Top 10 at some point. So I was expecting this annoying jump.

~ Talk about short tenures for All About It and Oh Cecilia.

~ I thought Reflections would never leave at this point. Thank god it did.

~ I did not think Life Of Dillon – Overload would be one of the 20 (claimed to be) biggest songs in North America.

~ AronChupa – I'm An Albatraoz and Megan Nicole – Fun are beginning to fade away. No surprise there.

~ I'll give you one last warning Love Runs Out and She Looks So Perfect. You need to exit this countdown immediately! No one likes you anymore! I'm not trying to be mean, but it gets tiring listening to same songs over and over and over again for a whole year. I know these songs are shooting for year-long tenures. But let's try to make sure that doesn't happen.

~ Talk about a quick drop for Kelly Clarkson – Heartbeat Song. That song isn't bad. It's just not good either.

~ I honestly forgot half of these songs were on the countdown.

~ America! We must rejoice! The huge piece of crap known as Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass has finally left us! Hopefully it left us for good!

~ Interesting Fact: Fall Out Boy has been on the countdown for two years now. I know. It's hard to believe. But it's true.

~ Throwback Song I've Been Enjoying This Week: Flo Rida/Ke$ha – Right Round (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcCw1ggftuQ)

My Top 5 Picks
1. Andy Grammer – Honey I'm Good
2. Hozier – Take Me To Church
3. Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney – FourFiveSeconds
4. Life Of Dillon – Overload
5. Nova Rockafeller – Made In Gold

  2. There are 14 songs on Hitbound and I will publish the list later today. Also the On Demand Stream of Hitbound usually plays 15 songs so I will try to hear it later next week when it comes out and I if I am not busy from work.

Also Lunchmoney Lewis is really good in my opinion but dont like Priory at all, at least Misterwives is finally gone

    1. So this means Smile, Superheroes, and (sniff) Can't Stop Dancing have OFFICIALLY left Hit-bound for good.
LNBAT makes up for Smile, Superheroes was kinda bland (a blue-worthy song, in my opinion), and Can't Stop Dancing...WHY???????????????
Oh, yeah, and a review is coming soon, though I highly encourage Thatchos to make one as well. Cause he's awesome at doing that. So is Joseph Fernandez.

    2. OH FUDGE I just realized, Shut Up + Dance left Hit-bound as well!
      FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDGE!
If anyone can't tell by now, I love dat song! Why did it have to go? This is more infuriating than Can't Stop Dancing leaving Hit-bound!

  4. I heard the 15th song during the 6-7 PM Hitbound and its Cash Cash Surrender. Thank goodness I won't have to hear the on demand stream this time.

  5. GDFR stands for Goin Down For Real. Don't know why Flo Rida used the initials for the song title.

  6. I never heard of Cash Cash-Surrender before but Flo Rida-Sage The Gemini-Going Down For real is a very terrible song that is on the billboard hot 100. Jack L

    JUST KIDDING!!!

    The exits:
x29. This song spent three weeks on here and the AT40. It debuted on both countdowns the same week, it dropped every week on the AT40, it rose every week here, and finally they left the same week. Crazy. But this song will be missed. (green)
    x30. NO!!! (green)
    x39. About time. (turquoise)
x40. Thank you for trying. (yellow)
    x42. YAAAAAAASS (red)
x45. I'm not surprised. At all. (yellow)

    45. Huh. (yellow)
    44. This is the end…I think. (pink)
    43. PLEASE STOP. (red)
    42. YES. (red)
    41. I really like this one. (green)
    40. NO. (turquoise)
    39. I do not like this song. (red)
    38. This is the beginning of the end. (pink)
    37. ugh (orange - sorry, Adrian)
    36. I just heard it this week, and I love it! It reminds me a bit of Problem. (green)
    35. You know, Adrian, you're really stretching it when you say nobody likes this song anymore. (green/pink)
    34. Huh…it's alright. (blue)
    33. YES YES YES I LOVE THIS SONG (green)
    32. Please go away. (red)
    31. Hmmm……I like it! (green)
    30. Yes. (green - yes, green)
    29. That's (more than) enough. (turquoise)
    28. Could this be the end?! (green)
    27. This'll probably leave next week. I don't know. (yellow)
    26. Okay, that's good. (yellow)
    25. No. (red)
    24. This might be the end. (yellow)
    23. no comment (pink)
    22. NO!!! (green)
    21. I'll live. (blue)
    20. NO NO NO!!!! (green)
    19. YES!!! (green)
    18. YAAAASS!!! (green)
    17. The spark is fading. (pink)
    16. Oh, no. (blue)
    15. wut (green)
    14. The only thing that makes this song tolerable is the ad-libs from Migos (a hip-hop trio from the "A" a.k.a. Atlanta.) Other than that, UGH. (red)
    13. Huh. (green)
    12. It's growing on me. (blue)
    11. I had a dream over the week that this song shot up to #1. Weird. (blue)
    10. I've finally made my mind up: verses=great, bridge=good but not as great as the verses, chorus=just bland. (blue)
    9. Not really surprised. (pink)
    8. Does this have a chance? (green)
    7. How much longer do you guys think this song will last? (pink)
    6. Obvious in retrospect, but fine by me. (green)
    5. YES (green)
    4. Huh. (dark green)
    3. PLEASE GO AWAY. (red)
    2. My opinion: I do not want this song to be in the same ranks as Sing and Don't. Not that those songs were bad, those songs were alright. Those songs each ended up peaking at #2. But this song…is a gem. It's so different from those two, and to me it is simply too good not to hit #1. So, if this song could squeeze in at least a week on top, that would be wonderful. (purple)
    1. I am getting more and more sick of this song each week. It's #1 everywhere, and it's driving me insane. (turquoise)

This Week's #NúmeroUnoPorFavor: Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud

  14. Remy's Radical Countdown Review, Week of February 21, 2015
Before I get started, I just wanna say that this week's addition of the countdown is dedicated to my man Jason Rearick. Stay strong!
And now, we advance to the countdown, but first, the exits.

    Exits:
    X29 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
    X30 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
X39 You left at a good time. You were about to turn into yellow/turquoise material, but at least I know that Adrian's celebrating BIG time.
X40 Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of this song either.
X42 Oh good! Now I hope One Last time can replace this on the countdown!
    X45 And out you go...again!

People sometimes wonder, how come I don't go by a color code when I do my reviews? Well, I simply let the words speak for themselves, because I believe that they express my opinion the best. Know what I mean?
    Anyhow, now onto the countdown.

    45. It'll be gone by next week...fortunately.
    44. It's starting to get old...
    43. I'd be happy if you shook your way out of the countdown!
    42. #orange, but I'm stoked that it got the biggest drop. #whoopwhoop
    41. WHOOP WHOOP! Sorry, Adrian.
    40. Everyone hates you now!
    39. Um...uh... I'm putting this one in blue...for now.
    38. #old
    37. #old
    36. It's a little pitchy, but for right now, it's in green.
    35. #OLD (note how I emphasized "old," cause it's THAT old!
    34. Yes! I knew this would debut, and I'm so happy it debuted! Best R5 song (besides Heart Made Up On You) yet!
    33. YAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
    32. I don't like this song. Period.
    31. Well, kids, it looks like we found Albatraoz's twin! And it's equally annoying, too!
    30. Chains should replace this song!
    29. WHY HAVEN'T YOU LEFT YET?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
    28. Same as 32.
    27. #old
    26. Unlike YOU KNOW WHO (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), you can stay as long as you'd like.
    25. KEEP JUMPING!
    24. KEEP DROPPING!
    23. #purple
    22. #pink (Adrian's pink, although a few weeks ago I would've said Lance's pink)
    21. Leah Baker's jam. And why is it dropping?!?!
    20. You're getting old, too...
    19. YAAAAASSSSS! This definitely deserved the Biggest Jump of the Week! #mynewjam
    18. I see this as a top ten song...in Hits 1's opinion. You know them.
    17. Yeah, you're old.
    16. Keep jumping!
    15. Why the sudden drop?!?!?!
    14. Yes! Top 10, here we come!
    13. And...you dropped out of the top 10. I do NOT approve of this!
    12. I honestly thought this would jump into the top ten this week...I guess I was wrong...sadly.
    11. My prediction: top 10 material next week! Hopefully...
    10. Top 10? Yes please! Big jumps are gonna satisfy me! (to the tune of...you know)
    9. I thought this would be out of the top 10 by now! Sadly, it's not gonna happen... yet.
    8. #old
    7. #old
    6. This one's a surprise. Talk about an unexpected jump into the top ten.
    5. Yay! Top 5 at last!
    4. #old
    3. OUT!
    2. Please hit #1 soon, even if you do happen to replace this next song.
    1. This trend's making me happy. :D
And...thanks for tuning in to this week's countdown review! Don't forget to leave a comment if you liked this review! I'd be happy if someone else could do a review as well! The more opinions we express, the merrier! (in most cases)
Oh, and should I do a Hit-bound review also? I know I did one once before...but should I do another one? Should I do it again? Answer in a reply down below! vvvvvv
And, as always...as Lance would put it (probably)... God 1st, God Bless!

    3. This countdown is seriously messed up this week.
The 2 worst songs on this countdown (Albapoop and Boom Clap Bull Crap) actually jumped this week.
Well, at least Love Runs Out took a well-deserving drop down to #45.
But, screw this, Blank Space is now #1 again! For a 5th non-consecutive week! Fudge you Hits 1!
I'd like to have a word with whoever creates the countdown every week. Cause if this crap upon crappy keeps up, he/she should be FIRED. For good.
(sigh) That is all... for now.

    1. I KNOW!!!

Sing and Don't peaked at #2.
Thinking Out Loud so far has also peaked at #2.
Thinking Out Loud is better than Sing and Don't.
I don't want Thinking Out Loud to be stuck in their ranks.

    2. THINKING OUT LOUD MUST NOT HIT #1!!! I'LL DO WHAT IT TAKES TO PREVENT THAT FROM HAPPENING!!!

    3. I would keep Style away from #1 if I had a choice.
      It's not that it's bad, it's just…not #1 material.

Unfortuantely it's already at #3 on the Pop Chart, so…hehehe…that'll be difficult, I guess!
