Taylor Swift (5) – Week Of February 28, 2015

Earlier this week, I was told that as of March 23, 2015, Blogger would no longer allow sexually explicit content on any blogs, not that that's a problem for this blog. But I think they just changed that and announced this change earlier this week instead March 23. I honestly don't know. But it doesn't really matter anyways because it doesn't apply to us. Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Tie Between 5 Seconds Of Summer – What I Like About You and Ne-Yo – She Knows (–16)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney – FourFiveSeconds (+18)

New Entrants
~ Eden XO is back with the extremely unappealing song, The Weekend. Too Cool To Dance was pretty catchy and a fun song to jam out to. But this song right here is crap. Hopefully, it won't stay long.

~ Apparently, to Hits 1, one week without Ariana Grande is too long without Ariana Grande. She debuted once again this week with One Last Time. Not as good as Love Me Harder. This one is alright. I definitely there are better songs on that album of her's. For now though, this is really just another song.

~ Next we have returning artist, Flo Rida, who debuted with Goin' Down For Real, or GDFR. This song is pretty catchy. I'll give it that. But this is nothing compared to Right Round featuring Ke$ha and Wild Ones featuring Sia. Those two are the best I've ever heard from Flo Rida. And it's pretty hard for him to beat that. I wouldn't say GDFR is better than How I Feel either. That one was another really catchy one from late 2013. But GDFR is at least better than Good Feeling and Can't Believe It.

~ Last, but definitely not least, we have the first song I've ever enjoyed from Walk The Moon. It's called Shut Up and Dance. This song was really popular on Alt Nation as it was a five-time #1 song on the Alt-18 countdown. It's super catchy. It just makes you wanna get and move, or really Shut Up and Dance! I expect some success from this song.

Let's Not Blurb Alone Tonight
~ Priory – Weekend aired so little that I thought it would leave this week. But no, it actually moved up!

~ The success Life Of Dillon – Overload clearly didn't last very long, unfortunately.

~ Lilly Wood & The Prick/Robin Schulz – Prayer In C clearly isn't getting anywhere on this countdown, even though it's in the Top 10 on the American Top 40.

~ I've had enough of Fall Out Boy – Centuries. It needs to leave the Top 5 NOW!!!

~ LunchMoney Lewis – Bills and Charli XCX – Boom Clap were neck-and-neck for which song is worse. Even though the latter has been marked as the worst, that could change some time in the near future.

~ David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack – Hey Mama and Zedd/Selena Gomez – I Want You To Know has aired quite a few times this week. Yet it has not entered Hit-Bound. And there are a bunch of other songs currently in that situation. Maybe if we get rid of songs like AJR – Infinity, we can solve some of these problems.

~ Ryan Cabrera – House On Fire and Sam Smith – Lay Me Down are two songs that do not air at all over the course of the week. They just sit there at the University of Hit-Bound, doing nothing to try and graduate.

~ Here's a mini review of Tori Kelly – Nobody Love:
Chorus: 10/10
Verses: 4/10
Bridge: 9/10
Overall: 7.6/10
Percentage: 76%
Overall Grade: C

And that is my opinion about Tori Kelly – Nobody Love.

~ Interesting Fact: Nova Rockafeller – Made In Gold is featured on the soundtrack for the movie, The Duff. Same with The Vamps/Demi Lovato – Somebody To You.

~ Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud needs to drop already so I can stop sweating it out every week thinking it will hit #1.

~ So on Thursday, someone posted a picture of a dress saying that them and their friends couldn't agree on what color it was. It was either blue and black or white and gold. Here is a picture of the dress.

~ Those of you saying white and gold, I don't know where you're seeing white. It's obviously blue and black. Perhaps it's the light in the backround that makes it look lighter, so people think it's white. I honestly don't know. Even celebrities have been taking it to Twitter. Here's a tweet from our #1 artist, Taylor Swift:

~ Here's a tweet from Justin Bieber:

~ Here's a tweet from Anna Kendrick:

~ Here's one from Demi Lovato:

Displaying photo.PNG

~ Finally, here's one from Kim Kardashian:

Displaying photo.PNG

As you can probably tell (not by these tweets), it's evenly cut in half between people saying blue and black and people saying white and gold. I personally see blue and black. But one of my friends said she saw white and gold at first, but then a little while later she looked at the same picture and saw blue and black. She then insisted that the picture changed. But I had to explain that pictures don't just magically change color and that it doesn't work like that and something must've happened to her eyes.

I'm not gonna lie, I got into a few arguments yesterday about this topic, which is really stupid by the way. But here is the answer everyone has been awaiting: The dress is blue and black!!!

Here's a New York Times article that says it's blue and black: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/28/business/a-simple-question-about-a-dress-and-the-world-weighs-in.html

Here's a WGN article saying it's blue and black: http://wgntv.com/2015/02/26/what-color-is-this-dress-the-latest-viral-sensation-frustration/

Basically, this dress can be found on amazon.com and it is listed as "royal blue". I hope this can end this huge debate and make people realize that it is blue and black so World War III doesn't begin. But here's a pic of the original dress:

Roman Women's Lace Detail Bodycon Dress Royal Blue (Amazon)

My Top 5 Picks
1. Andy Grammer – Honey I'm Good
2. Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
3. Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney – FourFiveSeconds
4. Life Of Dillon – Overload
5. Hozier – Take Me To Church

Mark Ronson (3) – Week Of February 21, 2015

This week was definitely a good week. We have a few songs debuting directly into the countdown and a couple of Hit-Bound graduates. Also, two records were formed this week. Find out what they are in the blurbs. Also, earlier this week, I had a massive cold and I just felt miserable. I felt horrible on Thursday, and luckily they cancelled school that day because of extremely cold temperatures and windchills. I'm feeling better now though, thankfully. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

  2. Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud (#2)
  1. Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk (#1) [3rd Week At #1]

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: AronChupa – I'm An Albatraoz (–15)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Life Of Dillon – Overload (+18)

New Entrants
~ We'll go from worst to best entrant. First we have LunchMoney Lewis – Bills. Is this some kind of joke? Some kind of sick joke? Because it's not funny. The song sounds incredibly stupid. It sounds like something Weird Al Yankovic would produce. Except Weird Al Yankovic is better. This song could possibly be orange at some point in its countdown tenure. But it's really annoying that this is the highest debut of the week.

~ Next we have Priory – Weekend. I have hated this song since I first heard it, which was last year. After an obnoxiously long Hit-Bound tenure, it managed to graduated to the countdown. This song is incredibly dull, bland, generic, and just plain out boring! Like Bills, I would like this to not stay here long.

~ Tori Kelly debuted this week with Nobody Love, a song I had to listen to like, five times before I could settle on what I thought about it. The verses are a little annoying, but she makes up for that in the somewhat catchy chorus. I really don't know. For now, the song is okay.

~ R5 – Let's Not Be Alone Tonight debuted this week. The song is really interesting and catchy. Energertic is the first word that pops into my head when I hear the song. Whether or not it's better than Smile, I don't really know. I would have to listen to this song I few more times. Please stay longer than how long Heart Made Up On You was here for.

~ The second best entrant this week is the super catchy Nova Rockafeller – Made In Gold. It's kinda like a combination of The Chainsmoker – #SELFIE and AronChupa – I'm An Albatraoz. It's really fun to jam out to. I can understand if people would find this song annoying. But to me, it's one of my new jams.

~ Our best entrant comes from the one and only Rihanna with her comeback single, FourFiveSeconds. It's a very interesting title. Kanye West and Paul McCartney are featured in it. It's one of those times Kanye West actually sounds good in a song. I have mixed feelings about him as a person after telling Beck he should've gave his Album Of The Year award to Beyoncé. But whatever. I hope this song can have a good countdown tenure, unlike Right Now and What Now from 2013-2014.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list (I only saw 13 songs, so I might be missing 1):

  • Rixton – Hotel Ceiling
  • Shawn Mendes – Life Of The Party
  • Tove Lo – Talking Body
  • Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding – Outside
  • Ariana Grande – One Last Time
  • Echosmith – Bright
  • Natalie La Rose/Jeremih – Somebody
  • Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
  • AJR – Infinity
  • Betty Who – All Of You
  • Ryan Cabrera – House On Fire
  • Sam Smith – Lay Me Down
  • Flo Rida/Sage The Gemini/Lookas – GDFR
  • Nick Jonas – Chains
  • Cash Cash/Julia Michaels – Surrender

Top 5 Songs Of Hit-Bound
1. Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding – Outside
2. Nick Jonas – Chains
3. Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance
4. Rixton – Hotel Ceiling
5. Natalie La Rose/Jeremih – Somebody

Nah, Nah Blurbey I'm Good
~ Charli XCX – Boom Clap is the very first song to have been in both purple and orange for at least one week in its countdown tenure. Very interesting.

~ Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass is the very first song to have been in orange every single week it was on the countdown. Also very interesting.

~ Fall Out Boy – Centuries was obviously going to jump back into the Top 10 at some point. So I was expecting this annoying jump.

~ Talk about short tenures for All About It and Oh Cecilia.

~ I thought Reflections would never leave at this point. Thank god it did.

~ I did not think Life Of Dillon – Overload would be one of the 20 (claimed to be) biggest songs in North America.

~ AronChupa – I'm An Albatraoz and Megan Nicole – Fun are beginning to fade away. No surprise there.

~ I'll give you one last warning Love Runs Out and She Looks So Perfect. You need to exit this countdown immediately! No one likes you anymore! I'm not trying to be mean, but it gets tiring listening to same songs over and over and over again for a whole year. I know these songs are shooting for year-long tenures. But let's try to make sure that doesn't happen.

~ Talk about a quick drop for Kelly Clarkson – Heartbeat Song. That song isn't bad. It's just not good either.

~ I honestly forgot half of these songs were on the countdown.

~ America! We must rejoice! The huge piece of crap known as Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass has finally left us! Hopefully it left us for good!

~ Interesting Fact: Fall Out Boy has been on the countdown for two years now. I know. It's hard to believe. But it's true.

~ Throwback Song I've Been Enjoying This Week: Flo Rida/Ke$ha – Right Round (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcCw1ggftuQ)

My Top 5 Picks
1. Andy Grammer – Honey I'm Good
2. Hozier – Take Me To Church
3. Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney – FourFiveSeconds
4. Life Of Dillon – Overload
5. Nova Rockafeller – Made In Gold

  3. Taylor Swift – Blank Space (#1)
  2. Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud (#2)
  1. Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk (#3) [2nd Week At #1]

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: MKTO – American Dream (–25)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: The Vamps/Demi Lovato – Somebody To You (+29)

New Entrants
~ Seriously??? Maroon 5 – Maps had to leave for this piece of crap to re-enter. Words cannot describe how annoying that is.

Happy Blurbentine's Day
~ The Vamps/Demi Lovato – Somebody To You made the kind of comeback I expect from MKTO – American Dream sometime in the near future.

~ Hozier – Take Me To Church definitely aired more than Meghan Trainor – Lips Are Movin', yet the latter is still above the other.

~ Yes everyone. MisterWives – Reflections is still here. It gets weirder every week.

~ Charli XCX – Boom ClapOneRepublic – Love Runs Out, and 5 Seconds Of Summer – She Looks So Perfect have been here forever and need to leave now!!! This isn't funny anymore. Hits 1 is probably losing listeners right now with the excessive airplay of these songs. If people aren't tired of these songs right now, there's something wrong.

~ Words can't describe how much I hate Usher – I Don't Mind. It sounds too much like some of the other boring mainstream crap like Jeremih/YG – Don't Tell Em. Way to put me to sleep with your ridiculously boring song, Usher.

~ I Love Makonnen/Drake – Tuesday is literally one of the worst songs I've ever heard. Again with this kind of mainstream crap.

~ I was with some of my friends the other day and we were sharing our least favorite songs ever. I said All About That Bass, one of my friends said Fancy, and the other said #SELFIE. It's interesting to know what some of your friends dislike. Another one of friends doesn't think I'm Not The Only One is old and I'm just like, "Do you listen to how much the radio plays that song?" She loves Take Me To Church though, which I'm happy about. Then one or two days ago, another one of my friends was like, "I have a song stuck in my head." And I'm like, "What is it?" And then she said, "Do you know Maroon 5's 'Sugar'?" So that kinda set me off. Then I have friends who still like Habits (Stay High)!!! And another one of my friends didn't even know Take Me To Church. Friends these days.

~ I knew Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk was gonna hit #1 again at some point.

~ Ever since Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani performed My Heart Is Open, I have been addicted to that song. I really really like it.

~ I understand that Hits 1 refuses to put meaningful songs at #1. I mean you have stupid songs like Timber that have a long run at #1. But meaningful songs like Take Me To Church are apparently too meaningful and beautiful to hit #1. See how little sense that makes? This is one of the most meaningful songs I have ever heard. This song is the most worthy of the #1 spot out of the rest of the Top 10. Sure, I wasn't happy when Maroon 5 – Animals didn't hit #1. But that's nothing compared to this. If this doesn't hit #1, I will start complaining more than I have ever complained before. People are like "Thinking Out Loud should hit #1 because it's a love song." Well Take Me To Church is a song that fights for love equality. I personally think it's more powerful than Thinking Out Loud will ever be. Hopefully now I have proved my point.

~ I watched the music video for Take Me To Church earlier this week (I know. I'm kinda falling behind). I almost started to cry. It's sad that people can't be who they are without the fear of being tormented by people who are apparently against human rights. We should all be fighting for human equality. No matter who we love, we are all humans and deserve the same rights as everyone else. We should not feel like second-class citizens because of who we love. Here's the link for the music video if you haven't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYSVMgRr6pw

~ If you are one of the people spending Valentine's Day single and alone. I published some quotes about being single on the right side bar. They're some of my favorite quotes.

~ The Valentine's Day edition of the Hit 45 Chart is out! Check out if Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding – Outside will hold #1 for a second week in a row: http://hit45chart.blogspot.com

~ Adrian's Most Missed Song This Week: Carly Rae Jepsen – Call Me Maybe

~ Throwback Love Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpT-FW_G8-A

My Top 5 Picks
1. Hozier – Take Me To Church
2. Andy Grammer – Honey I'm Good
3. AronChupa – I'm An Albatraoz
4. Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do
5. Life Of Dillon – Overload

My Bottom 5 Picks
1. Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass
2. Usher – I Don't Mind
3. 5 Seconds Of Summer – She Looks So Perfect
4. Charli XCX – Boom Clap
5. Maroon 5 – Sugar

Valentine's Day is a week from today. But what most people don't realize is that the day before Valentine's Day is Friday The 13th. I still have no idea how it started and I feel like an idiot for believing in it. But if you're planning to ask someone out that day, you should be careful and make sure nothing bad happens. New Entrants
~ I'm getting kinda tired of Taylor Swift at this point. She debuted with Style, which to me, is just another song. Nothing special to it. It may grow on me. We'll have to wait and see.

~ Both Usher – I Don't Mind and Ne-Yo – She Knows originally had Juicy J in them. But since Hits 1 doesn't like Juicy J, they thought it would be a good idea to remove him from both songs. I Don't Mind is most definitely not Usher's best. Comparing this to songs like DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love, Hot Tottie, Somebody To Love, Scream, and More, you can easily tell the difference. Usher made a terrible decision to make music like a lot of rap artists by using just one simple beat. People don't understand that this simple of a beat is boring as hell. Even She Came To Give It To You was better than this crap. In terms of She Knows, I think Ne-Yo's better when he's featured in songs like Pitbull – Give Me Everything, Calvin Harris – Let's Go, and David Guetta – Play Hard rather than as a solo artist. She Knows is definitely better than I Don't Mind. Ne-Yo has some nice vocals in this song. It will probably grow on me. There's a greater chance of this growing on me than Style.

~ Olly Murs has returned this week as he debuted with Wrapped Up featuring Travie McCoy, who you never know when he's gonna retire from music considering the fact that he hasn't made much music lately. The song is really catchy. It's better than Dance With Me Tonight, but doesn't quite hit the height of Troublemaker.

~ Finally we have Life Of Dillon making their very first countdown debut with Overload. These guys kinda have this Timeflies sound to them, both in their music and in their vocals. If you flashback to when Timeflies – All The Way was on the countdown, you can tell that these two groups kinda have similar sounding voices. Of course, Overload is not as EDM sounding as All The Way. But you get the basic idea. Overload is really catchy and good in its own little way. I doubt it'll stay here long. So I'm just gonna enjoy it for however long it's here.

Blurb Me To Church
~ I need to learn how to stop saying things like "Imagine Dragons – I Bet My Life won't be hitting #1 anytime soon." What happens is that Hits 1 reads it and they decide to prove me wrong every time.

~ OneRepublic – I Lived is really starting to annoy me now by jumping to #4 this week.

~ I am extremely shocked that MisterWives – Reflections is still here.

~ Sam Smith – Lay Me Down is on Hit-Bound. This is song pretty boring and bad that it makes I'm Not The Only One seem really good, which is why it was promoted to pink.

~ Also on Hit-Bound, we have Natalie La Rose/Jeremih – Somebody. This song is okay. Jeremih is not the best vocalist out there.

~ It's about time Break Free and Steal My Girl left.

~ This is the first time after what seemed like forever where we don't have a song from OneRepublic and a song from One Direction right next to each other.

~ Tomorrow night are the Grammy's, which I will be watching. I believe Rihanna will be performing with Kanye West and Paul McCartney on her new song, FourFiveSeconds

~ I apologize for the serious lack of blurbs this week. Nothing interesting happened at all.

~ Random Song I Started Enjoying: Kid Ink/Usher/Tinashe – Body Language
