#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: The Chainsmokers/Halsey – Closer (6)
Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Sam Hunt – Body Like A Back Road (–10)
Biggest Jump Of The Week: Portugal. The Man – Feel It Still (+10)
New Entrants
~ Our lone new entrant this week comes from The Shadowboxers with Hot Damn. The song does have some cool stuff in it, although it really doesn't kick in until almost two minutes in. It has some very good production and it's very catchy. It's definitely one of those songs that'll get stuck in your head. And I don't know about you, but I'm feeling some strong Justin Timberlake vibes. All in all, it's a good song. I can't really predict how it'll do. So we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Hit-Bound

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list.
- Sofi Tukker – Best Friend
- Fall Out Boy – Hold Me Tight Or Don't (DEBUT)
- Macklemore/Kesha – Good Old Days
- Selena Gomez/Marshmello – Wolves
- Harry Styles – Kiwi
- P!nk/Eminem – Revenge
- Walk The Moon – One Foot
- Liam Payne – Bedroom Floor
- Taylor Swift – Gorgeous
- Post Malone/21 Savage – Rockstar
- X Ambassadors – Ahead Of Myself
- Bruno Mars – Chunky
- Imagine Dragons – Whatever It Takes
- Nick Jonas – Find You
~ Hold Me Tight Or Don't is definitely a song I could probably come around to in the future. But for now, I can't say I'm enjoying it. So far I can tell that this new album is a bit more on the experimental side and sometimes it worked, sometimes not so much. This song seems to fall alongside Young and Menace, though not necessarily as bad. I enjoyed both Champion and The Last Of The Real Ones because I got a nice rock vibe from them. I don't get that from this new song and Patrick Stump's vocals are not that good at certain parts in the song. It's definitely not as big of a mess as Young and Menace, but I know Fall Out Boy can do better.
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Walk The Moon – One Foot
2. Imagine Dragons – Whatever It Takes
3. Macklemore/Kesha – Good Old Days
4. P!nk/Eminem – Revenge
5. X Ambassadors – Ahead of Myself
Meant To Blurb
~ P!nk has finally managed to reach the top spot this week. What About Us is without a doubt deserving of this honor. I'm so glad it managed to get this far and not just stay peaked at #2 like Just Like Fire. This is P!nk's first #1 since Just Give Me A Reason, which was one of the biggest highlights of 2013. Both are fantastic songs that really showcase P!nk's talent not just as a vocalist, but as a songwriter as well.
~ I'm pretty surprised that Imagine Dragons – Thunder has spent only one week at #1 so far. I thought it would've surpassed Believer by now. I really went from underestimating how well this song would do to overestimating how well it would do (if that makes any sense).
~ I feel like Ed Sheeran – Perfect could potentially be our next #1. It may or may not be next week. But I feel like it'll be the one to replace What About Us. And I'd be fine with that. It's a very sweet song that I'm glad was released as a single.
~ Into the Top 5, we welcome Ready For It. Unlike its predecessor, I'm okay with this one being where it is. It has more to it. It's still nowhere near Taylor Swift's best work by any means. But of the four pre-released singles, this one is the best.
~ As far as our Top 10 entrants go, we welcome back What Lovers Do. I am okay with this one, although I do prefer Glorious, which unfortunately got bumped out so this song could jump back up. Brand new to the Top 10 this week is Let Me Go, which I'm thrilled to see this high. This one is pretty high on iTunes right now, probably because of the performance of it at the American Music Awards. But hopefully this means it can get some more recognition.
~ Our two good debuts from last week barely jumped anywhere. Meanwhile, I Like Me Better just had to be the one to jump a reasonable amount of spots. I don't see the appeal.
~ It looks like this is the end of the road for Despacito. It's kind of hard to believe that this song actually peaked in the Top 5 because it spent very little time there. But it did last a little while on the countdown, which is good. I'm not sure if it'll make it on to Hits 1's Top 45 of 2017. Probably not.
~ Every song from last week's Bottom 6 dropped one spot this week, with Kygo/Selena Gomez – It Ain't Me being the unfortunate one dropping right out of the countdown. I'm pleased with how well this song did and it will surely be missed.

Wait a minute Adrian...
ReplyDeleteWhy is Hold Me Tight Or Don’t in red?
It is on his post, ATR. See it.
DeleteATR, you seriously need to start reading the post before you ask these questions.
DeleteGot it, Adrian.
DeleteNice throwback! Have you heard Walk On Water yet? It's really nice
ReplyDeleteHey look at the Sirius XM website, the countdown will air today!
ReplyDeleteI don’t want to listen to the countdown early, Gelography.
DeleteYou’re such a freaky idiot. I wasn’t asking if you wanted to hear it early or not, I was TELLING you It was airing today. #bigdifference

DeleteGelography, that's not nice...
DeleteExcuse me guys, I'm going away again to Cindy and Robin's cottage on Saturday night, coming home Sunday morning.

DeleteYeah, I know, Anonymous. I really miss Leah. Where is she anyways? I hope she’s back here soon.
DeleteShe’s dead ^_^
DeleteNo she isn’t.
DeleteShe’s not dead. Maybe Blogger decided to close her account on its own or something.
DeleteGelography, you know you don't say that to Leah, because Leah will cry.
DeletePlease delete Gelography’s comment. Leah was not dead.
DeleteWhen is she going to comment on here again?
DeleteY’know Chase, we don’t give a **** if Leah cries. She’s a little dumb troll anyway.
DeleteAnonymous: Please delete yourself.
DeleteGelography, she’s not a dumb troll. She’s just a nice gal and I hope she’s back here again soon.
DeleteShe’s not a dumb troll according to your dictionary. To everyone ELSE’S dictionary, she is.
DeleteI actually miss her.
DeleteWhen is Leah going to comment on this blog again?
DeleteThat's enough fighting Anonymous and Gelography!
DeleteI'm really upset right now.
DeleteAnonymous and Gelography, stop fighting! I really want Leah to be back here soon.
DeleteThat's right, ATR!!!
DeleteI remember when I had a dream last month where Leah came to my house.
DeleteYeah ATR, I know you have a dream last month where Leah came to your house. Maybe that’ll make her comment on this blog again.
DeleteYeah, maybe that’ll happen, Anonymous. Leah needs to comment on this blog again, RIGHT NOW OR ELSE I’M GOING TO LOSE IT!!!!!!
DeleteATR, settle down. She’ll comment on this blog again as soon as she can.
DeleteYou know what, Anonymous? I actually miss Leah. She’s my girlfriend. Also, I decided to come up with a nickname in my head and her nickname to me is “my sweet little cupcake”, because she’s my girlfriend.
DeleteYou called Leah “my sweet little cupcake”, really?
DeleteYes, I did. That’s why she’s my girlfriend. Hopefully she comments on here again soon.
DeleteATR: Idk how it's taken you this long to realize that no one here likes you. And if even Leah doesn't even like you, plus the fact that you can't realize it, you have a big problem.
DeleteNo no no no no no......
DeleteATR actually likes her.
I'm not sure if anyone's watching the game, but Jason Derulo just performed Want To Want Me at halftime. Yup.

Delete#35 is Body Like A Back Road
#34 is Hot Damn. Up 4 spots.
Alright. I’m pacific time so I have to wait 8 minutes for the countdown to “start.”

DeleteCorrect.

DeleteGelography: That's inappropriate to use.
DeleteAnd Parker fanboys over Rockstar debuting. Just great.
ReplyDeleteWell what else would I do, make a list of 20 questions asking about the other pop songs on there I don’t know?
Delete*cough* Slow Hands *cough*
DeleteBut I did eventually end up listening to Slow Hands, right before I left. I said on Pulse but not here. I can’t remember anything about it now, but I think it was just okay.
DeleteI really hope it flops.

DeleteWhat are the HitBound entrants?
DeleteI Miss You and Animal.
DeleteGot it!
DeleteParker, how about instead of ONLY listening to rap that we all pretty much hate anyway, how about you actually go out and listen to something that ISN'T rap? You know, there are 44 other songs on the countdown for you to listen to, DO IT!
ReplyDeleteHe loved Something’s Gotta Give and that isn’t rap.
DeleteGive him a break. He just got back and something clearly happened.
Delete^
DeleteI’ve already heard 20 songs on the countdown (not counting Rockstar) anyway, plus a few more that I don’t remember. Listening to 25 more songs I won’t care about is just a waste of time.
DeleteMy point is, you should actually listen to them, instead of just leaving them out to dry.
DeleteI love pop music!!!

DeleteBut Chase said to Gelography that this was his last warning and if he does that, he’s going to be removed from the blog. And then he had his last warning, and then I said it to Gelography because that was his last warning.
DeleteWhat Chase said doesn't matter. Adrian is the only one who can control that as far as I know. Chase cannot ban or remove Gelography from the blog.
DeleteDylan: I'm so sorry, I was just saying I wanted to be nice to Gelography. I don't want to remove him off the blog.
DeleteAnonymous: That's not nice what you said to Gelography. Please apologize to him right now, or else.
Oh. The countdown aired. The one day I don't listen to Hits 1. LOL. Why did they do it so early? And nice post Adrian!

DeleteI don't know these three songs.
DeleteThen you better listen to those three, Chase!
