You Already Blurb
~ I'm not too surprised about Thunder being #1, especially since it's been #1 for a while now on iTunes. While it's nowhere near their best work, I'm okay with having this at the top. It's one of the better songs currently in the Top 5 out of two. That being said, I'd actually appreciate if this song held the #1 spot until we get some better songs into the Top 5.
~ Entering the Top 5 this week is Taylor Swift – Look What You Made Me Do. I don't think this song should be this high. It's not as big of a hit as it probably intended to be. It did not live up to Shake It Off in my opinion. I really would like if this song did not hit #1. But it's Hits 1. So who knows what's gonna happen?
~ Returning to the Top 10 this week, we have P!nk – What About Us and Macklemore/Skylar Grey – Glorious. I'm very happy about both of these and hope they can stick around for a little while longer.
~ Camila Cabello – Havana made a big jump this week into the Top 20. I had a feeling this would happen at some point with how high it is on iTunes. I'm actually okay with this. This song is a lot better than pretty much all of her other songs.
~ I'm not too happy about the sudden drop from Mono Mind – Save Me A Place. It's still a really cool song and I hope it can stick around for a little while longer. It deserves this kind of recognition.
~ And of course, The Script – Rain just had to fall right back down out of the Top 30. While it may not be successful here, it's still a great song to me and there's a very good chance it'll appear in my Top 45 of 2017.
~ So on Friday night, there was a tribute concert for Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington. They basically performed a ton of Linkin Park's biggest hits with some special guests. I didn't actually know about it until I stumbled upon a video of Mike Shinoda performing A Light That Never Comes with Steve Aoki and Bebe Rexha, which was pretty good. If you're interested, the whole concert was streamed live on Linkin Park's YouTube and can found here.

I see that Look What You Made Me Do is starting to fade on you. My guess is you don't want it to become something you don't want it to be. And some kind of good news for you: it won't get that chance at #1, because its faltering big time elsewhere, especially in radio. Plus, it just dropped big down to #25 on Billboard.
ReplyDeleteIt is Never Let You Go featuring John Newman, Adrian.
ReplyDeleteFor the past week, he's been releasing a new song everyday from his new album. I didn't want to pick just one in particular because they're all really good.
DeleteYeah, I agree. Kygo has a lot of good stuff in his new album. For me, there's one song in particular that I really, really like (hint: its successor to It Ain't Me).
DeleteI'm guessing that's First Time (probably because it features Ellie Goulding).
DeleteI do love that song too. I've loved it ever since it was released back in April. I think if I had to choose one as my favorite, it would probably be Stranger Things featuring OneRepublic. But With You featuring Wrabel is really good too.
Bingo. Ellie Goulding never lets me down. Easily my favorite track from his new album. Too bad it didn't get the attention it deserves (not a Charlie Puth reference)
DeleteI haven't given the other two songs a listen yet, but there was one other song that was on the YouTube 15 not too long ago. It's titled This Town, which features newcomer Sasha Sloan.
T35 #1 of 2017 is out! You will be very surprised
ReplyDeleteNice job Adrian. It also didn't feel like Halloween to me. Probably because I picked a costume at the last minute. I didn't like this week's countdown. There is old trash clogging up the countdown and I am mad Sweat is not doing well.
ReplyDeleteNice post, Adrian! I just posted my HitBound post and I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteWhat song by Kygo should be a #1 recommendation for Hits 1, Adrian?
ReplyDeleteAny song from his new album.
DeleteIs it Stranger Things?
DeleteThat's probably the best one, so sure.
DeleteWhy is TNHMB and LWWYMMD in Blue?
ReplyDeleteBecause he’s starting to get sick of them.
DeleteHe's not getting sick of LWYMMD. He never loved it very much in the first place and it's just fading on him a lot.
DeleteGraham: What I was gonna say. Well, he'll be relieved to hear that it's fading fast elsewhere right now. Thus, he won't have to worry about it for too much longer.
DeleteTNHMB has been here for a very long time, so it only makes sense that it would start to fade at some point.
DeleteGraham is right with LWYMMD. It's just fading on me because it was never really a great song to begin with. I guess I just prefer her 1989-type songs. I find it a little hard to really get into her new songs the way I was into 1989.
Gorgeous is going for pop radio stations this week.
Delete^What does that have anything to do with the conversation?
DeleteShe released a new song called Call It What You Want.

*Marshmello
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHere are the exits:

Concerned about neither of them.

ReplyDeleteSo far most of our second set of 5 has held its spot.

35. Heartless (...)
34. Stay
33. Too Much To Ask (DEBUT)
32. You Already Know

Biggest Drop: Look What You Made Me Do
ReplyDeleteI jinxed it when I said this was going to be this year's Closer, didn't I?
Given how hard it's sinking on Billboard right now, this doesn't come to me as a surprise at all.
Delete-24
DeleteIt had 9 spins based off of what Chuckle said.
DeleteHere we go.......
ReplyDelete29. TAYLOR SWIFT - LOOK WHAT YOU MADE KE DO (#5)
ME*
DeleteWould you please put this song back in the Top 5 next week?
Delete-Remy
Look What You Made Me Do is actually falling this week.
DeleteI don’t think that song is this year’s Closer.
Delete^Agreed.
Delete28. Despa-stop annoying us and go away

DeleteWhat’s better is the fact I already know our Biggest Jump.

22. Why
21. Body Like A Back Road (You are KIDDING ME, right?)
*sees #21* Ugh! This needs to stop jumping and leave already and STOP POLLUTING THE COUNTDOWN!!!
DeleteI will say that the guest DJ segment before it was introduced was at least a little funny, though.
DeleteI will never forget when Mikey Piff said Sam Hunk last week.
DeleteAnd he's right,
Sam HUNK OF JUNK!
*Sam Hunt
DeleteDylan, that was funny.
DeleteHi friends, is Gelography ready for hip hop music???

ReplyDeleteTop 5 Entrant:
ReplyDeleteEd Sheeran - Perfect (No joke)
Up 25 to #5, biggest jump of the week. Dang! I did not expect that massive of a jump. I love the song though, so I'm not complaining. ;D
DeleteEw.
DeleteCare to explain what's so bad about Perfect?
DeleteThe usual reason why I hate some songs.
DeleteOh, and What About Us is in the Top 5, also.
ReplyDelete5. Perfect
ReplyDeleteAlso the Biggest Jump of the Week. Up 25 spots.

Delete#1 Recommendation for Hits 1: Why Don't We - These Girls
ReplyDelete#1 Recommendation for Chase: To not recommend that song, it is pure garbage
DeleteGelography, this song can make Hits 1, so please stop spoiling at me, that's not nice.
DeleteChase, this song is too garbage for Hits 1, so please stop polluting my internet, that’s very stupid of you.
DeletePlease, These Girls is actually making Hits 1. So, Gelography please stop saying that, that's not polite.
DeleteHi Adrian.
DeleteWith that being said, Something Different didn’t get the privilege to be on the countdown so let’s see if These Girls does.
Delete-Remy
Wait, really Chase? You live 365 Days ahead of us?
Delete^What?
Delete^He can’t say “is actually” like it is actually gonna happen 101%. *checks voting poll* See? Nothing new.
DeleteHi John Smith, how are you!!!
DeleteHello guys! Here's an update on my countdown post. It's out:
ReplyDeletehttp://sxmhits1.blogspot.com/2017/11/imagine-dragons-1-week-of-october-28.html
Hello
ReplyDeleteJust making sure the new pic worked (don’t question me, ATR).
DeleteGelography, I don’t want to question you about your new icon.
DeleteAnd then you repetitively question me about it on my blog.
DeleteATR and Gelography, please be nice to each other.
DeleteA new radio chart post is out! Feel it Still #1 for a third week, plus Havana enters the Top 10 and two big hits drop out of the Top 40. Also includes a major fall from LWYMMD. DeleteGuys, yesterday was Daylight Saving Times Ends, we just changed the clocks backwards from 2:00 back to 1:00.
ReplyDeleteI know that, Chase. I’m eastern time.

Gorgeous had the biggest drop? I thought it’s going to do great on this chart. When will it move up?
Delete-Remy
Soon it will.
DeleteNo it won't. It was just a promo single, and even if it was an official single it'd be a bad choice as one. It seems more like album filler, and it's the weakest of the songs released. So I'd call this a flop anyway, I [refer Call It What You Want anyway.
DeleteWait a minute, Taylor Swift is releasing an official third single!!!
DeleteWith Future called possibly "Everyday" or something?
DeleteAnd it also features Ed Sheeran.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHi everybody, from this time on, I have some sad news to tell you guys. I may be posting a countdown really late.
