I realize that you guys are still waiting for the 700K pageview special AND the Song Wars results. New Entrants
~ With a re-entry from the unwanted In The Night from The Weeknd, we have only two new songs this week.

~ I think Hits 1 fell in love with Daya as after having overplayed Hide Away, they have Sit Still, Look Pretty debut. I can't see this as a song I'll have on my Apple Music playlist that I'll be jamming out to. As of right now, I ultimately think this song is a space filler. It's not bad, but it's necessarily good either. It's kind of just there. But that's just how I feel.

~ It's been a while since we've gotten something new from Justin Timberlake. His new song Can't Stop The Feeling is nowhere near some of his best work (i.e. Rock Your Body, SexyBack, and Mirrors), but it sure is a catchy tune right now. People are saying that this will be the summer anthem of 2016, and while I don't really agree with that, I can see why they'd say that. Honestly, I understand the people saying this will be the summer jam of 2016 more than those saying Calvin Harris/Rihanna – This Is What You Came For will be the summer of 2016. That I don't really understand as much. But overall, this is definitely a catchy song right now. I'll probably get sick of it in a few months. But I'm enjoying it for the time being.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Jason Derulo – If It Ain't Love
  • Charlie Puth/Selena Gomez – We Don't Talk Anymore
  • The 1975 – The Sound
  • Pitbull/Enrique Iglesias – Messin' Around
  • Magic!/Sean Paul – Lay You Down Easy
  • Hailee Steinfeld/DNCE – Rock Bottom
  • Ruth B. – Lost Boy
  • Timeflies – Once In A While
  • Symon – Say
  • Disturbed – The Sound Of Silence
  • Sia/Sean Paul – Cheap Thrills
  • The Summer Set – Figure Me Out
  • All Time Low – Missing You
  • Kelly Clarkson/Various Artists – This Is For My Girls

~ Returning groups The Summer Set and All Time Low have new songs that unfortunately do not top previous countdown songs Boomerang and Something's Gotta Give, respectively.

~ The 1975 is also back with some mediocre music. Fantastic.

~ Timeflies – Once In A While has been on Hit-Bound for a really long time. I highly doubt it'll debut at this point.

~ I'm surprised rock band Disturbed is on Hit-Bound. After taking a listen to The Sound Of Silence, I'm pretty impressed. I never thought I would ever like a song from them.

~ Yep. Messin' Around is currently the best song on Hit-Bound. Let's get it to the countdown soon.

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Pitbull/Enrique Iglesias – Messin' Around
2. Disturbed – The Sound of Silence
3. Charlie Puth/Selena Gomez – We Don't Talk Anymore
4. Hailee Steinfeld/DNCE – Rock Bottom
5. Sia/Sean Paul – Cheap Thrills

Can't Stop The Blurbs!
~ Honestly, I would've loved for Panic! At The Disco – Victorious to hit this peak of #3 during its first countdown run, when I was in love with the song. Now.....not so much.

~ Grace – You Don't Own Me surprised me this week with a little bit of a comeback. Nice.

~ The jump from Selena Gomez – Hands To Myself was pretty unnecessary and extremely unwanted. Please get rid of this excuse of a song. Whoever is voting for it needs to cut it out. This song is trash.

~ James Bay – Let It Go is in the Top 10. It's a good thing that I'm enjoying this song now.

~ We really don't need another One Direction song in the Top 10 that'll likely stay there for months. History has no reason to still be on this countdown. I doubt people are actually voting for this song. But I know for sure people are not voting for Drag Me Down at this point.

~ Zayn Malik – Pillowtalk is only getting worse after each listen. I would appreciate if this song could drop towards the bottom of the countdown.

~ Gwen Stefani – Make Me Like You was not destined to stay long considering how Hits 1 has treated her music in the past.

~ I actually want to see songs like Tryon – Somebody To Love Me and We The Kings – The Story Of Tonight leave soon. There's nothing special about either of these songs and I feel like they are taking up some spots.

~ Can we PLEASE get the annoying work, work, work, work, work, work to possibly leave, leave, leave, leave, leave, leave?

~ Shawn Mendes/Camila Cabello – I Know What You Did Last Summer has pretty much left every music platform at this point. Hard to believe it's still here. But then again, Hits 1 loves themselves some Shawn Mendes.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if P!nk can hold at #1 for a third week in a row with Just Like Fire!

Throwback Pick Of The Week: Selena Gomez & The Scene – Love You Like A Love Song

Most Missed Countdown Song: Little Mix – Black Magic

  2. I'm glad Get Ugly left, but I'm upset that On My Mind and Adventure Of A Lifetime left.

I'm not happy that In The Night re-entered. I'm guessing that Hits 1 realized that 1 week without the Weeknd is too much.

I now officially love Can't Stop The Feeling.

Sit Still, Look Pretty is also one of my favorite songs to listen to as well.

Cake By The Ocean should not have spent another week at #1. I'd rather take My House, Victorious, or NO at #1. I'd be even happier with Stressed Out though.

Finally, Just Like Fire is now in the top 20.

Work From Home should have dropped more than 1 spot. drop all the way to the bottom.

I now have an opinion on Somebody To Love Me, Close, and Youth. All of them are great!

Never Forget You, and Unsteady should enter the top 20 soon and very soon.

Why did Let It Go have to enter the top 10?

Work should not have flopped so hard here. This song hit #1 months ago and it should have been in the top 10 here.

Why did Make Me Like You have to suddenly drop 25 spots to the bottom 5?

History should not be in the top 10 as well.

I think me and Jack are the only people who still like Out Of The Woods.

And I think me and Adrian are the only people who still like Roses.

    Top 5:
    1. Can't Stop The Feeling- Justin Timberlake

  19. THIS IS A BILLBOARD MUSIC ALERT!

Justin Timberlake Debuts at No. 1 on Hot 100 With 'Can't Stop the Feeling!'

Timberlake scores his fifth solo No. 1 and his best sales week for any of his songs. Plus, Rihanna ties Michael Jackson for the third-most Hot 100 top 10s all-time.

  20. This Week in Billboard Chart History: In 1990, Madonna 'Vogue'-d to No. 1

The Queen of Pop began a three-week Hot 100 reign. Plus, remembering chart feats by U2, R.E.M. & Adele.

Your weekly recap celebrating significant milestones from more than seven decades of Billboard chart history.

    May 16, 1992
U2 scored its fifth of six Billboard Hot 100 top 10s, as "One" rose 12-10. The song became the second top 10 from the band's 1991 album Achtung Baby; "Mysterious Ways" had hit No. 9 in January 1992.

    May 17, 2008
Madonna earned her seventh of eight No. 1s on the Billboard 200 with the chart-topping launch of Hard Candy. The set yielded the No. 3 Billboard Hot 100 hit "4 Minutes," featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.

    May 18, 1991
Powered by the biggest hit of the group's career, "Losing My Religion," which rose to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, R.E.M. landed its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, Out of Time.

    May 19, 1990
More Madonna: She'd been inspired by dancer/choreographers Jose and Luis Xtravaganza from the Harlem "House Ball" community, who introduced "vogue"-ing to her at the New York club Sound Factory. Twenty-six years ago today, her song "Vogue," with its iconic back-and-white video, struck a pose atop the Billboard Hot 100 for the first of three weeks.

    May 20, 1989
Before serving as a judge on American Idol and X Factor, Paul Abdul was center stage herself on the Billboard Hot 100. On this date 27 years ago, the title cut from her debut album spent its first of two weeks at No. 1.

    May 21, 2011
Five years ago: Adele began the chart-topping reign that would net her the top song of the 2011 chart year, as "Rolling in the Deep" spent its first of seven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100.

    May 22, 2004
The bad news: Usher fell from the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 after 12 weeks with "Yeah," featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris. The good news: he replaced himself at the summit with follow-up "Burn," which would rule for eight weeks.

  40. Hey Adrian, what do you think of Meghan Trainor's new song Me Too?
Personally, I think it's mediocre and that she copied the K-Pop style a bit too much. Too K-pop-y. I would suspect you absolutely hate it, considering your history with Meghan Trainor songs.
Also, I absolutely agree with the blurbs on songs like STLM, Youth, Hands To Myself, IKWYDLS, Cake By The Ocean, My House, One Call Away, Stressed Out, New Romantics, Out Of The Woods...all those songs need to leave.
Ride is such a dissapointment. So please leave too.
Work needs to leave and be replaced with One Dance.
This Is What You Came For needs to also debut.
    I LOVE Just Like Fire.
Victorious is on the verge of becoming a "turquoise" song for me.
Crappy Countdown this week, as usual.

    5. There is nothing good or redeeming about the song. Its just bland boring, over-sexualized nonsense garbage. It sounds like its a parody of pop music, that all pop music is bland, boring, generic, and sexualized shit. I hate songs like this, and I can't believe that people would be so stupid to think this is actual music. Its fucking garbage is what it is, and deserves to be forgotten and destroyed.
