New Entrants
~ I think Daya has a really interesting voice and that's the only reason Hide Away is not terrible. Nothing about this song appeals to me. I honestly didn't think it would debut the countdown. But here it is.
~ Spyder Harrison had Niall Horan on the phone to talk about the new single, Drag Me Down as well as where he and the rest of the band is in the making of the music video and the new album. Let me just start off by saying that I think this band could possibly be better off without Zayn Malik. I know Directioners will disagree with me, but personally Zayn was my least favorite vocalist in the band. Drag Me Down is a really catchy and I've definitely been having it on repeat. I don't necessarily know if it's One Direction's best song, but it's definitely up there in......I don't know......Top 5 maybe? I definitely hope to see some success out of this song.
Nobody Can Drag Blurbs Down
~ All Time Low – Something's Gotta Give has jumped into the Top 10. I'm shocked. But I'm also happy about it.
~ Andy Grammer – Honey I'm Good was #1 two weeks ago and now I see it at #27. Hits 1 probably realized this song could possibly last a year and they don't want that to happen.
~ As for American Authors – Go Big Or Go Home, if I had to choose, I would choose go home! You better not go big!
~ Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me is so annoying! Start moving down already!!!
~ I remember a time when I said that Maroon 5 – This Summer's Gonna Hurt... was going to be my new jam. Now here I am completely sick of it. That didn't take too long.
~ Good riddance to DJ Snake/AlunaGeorge – You Know You Like It. It's about time it left us. Thankfully that huge jump it made didn't last very long.
~ I did not think Selena Gomez – Good For You would drop to #40. It's fine by me though. I have lost interest in that song.
~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Hey Mama will be the #1 song for a ninth time overall!

Meghan Trainor/John Legend-Like I'm Gonna Lose You(GREEN)
Carly Rae Jepsen brings Run Away With Me. It's good, that's all I can say about it though.
I don't have a good grasp on Echosmith-Lets Love yet. It will grow on me probably though.
I love Meghan Trainors' new song. Like I'm Gonna Lose You is a really sweet and romantic tune. John Legend also adds a lot to the song.
Let's be honest, Ghost Town isn't debuting at this point. It had a shot, but never got enough Airplay, no matter how many times people voted for it
I don't think that Zedd/John Bellion-Beautiful Now is gonna debut. I just don't see it happening.
Surprised that U2-Song For Someone didn't enter.
Goodbye, Just Seconds Apart-Unbelievable. You never grew on me.
Good riddance, In Love With A Boy! You will never be missed.
Top 5
1. Jason Derulo-Cheyenne
2. Meghan Trainor/John Legend-Like I'm Gonna Lose You
3. Adam Lambert-Ghost Town
4. X Ambassadors-Renegades
5. R. City/Adam Levine-Locked Away
Um, I do believe ILWAB is still on Hit-bound. Personally, I Really Like You is better than Run Away With Me, not by much though. And you're right, Ghost Town will probably leave in the next few weeks. Sadly. :(
DeleteAlso, can someone please explain to me why Song For Someone hasn't debuted anywhere?!?!?!?!?! #NextLifesABeach ? #Maybe ?
-Remy
Song for Someone I'm assuming will debut next week.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI think that U2's A Song For Someone got a lot of AirPlay (on Morning Mash Up) the week they had their Town Hall (Mid July). Since then I guess AirPlay dropped. But I'm sure that AirPlay will pick up again when their album comes out.

Black Magic and Sog For Someone aired a lot during the week but neither of them debuted off the countdown. Also, Take Your Time had no AirPlay but it didn't even leave the countdown. Next weekend better have more exits than this weekend so I'm hoping there's 5, 6, or 7 exits.

DeleteI hate you for liking Locked Away. -__-
DeleteI hate you for liking Emergency and not liking Locked Away. Lock yourself away!!!!
DeleteEmergency and locked away are good but emergency is better
DeleteJust about anything Adam Levine is involved with ends up being really good. I think Locked Away is a really catchy song.
Delete"Just about anything Adam Levine is involved with ends up being really good." Except Sugar right?
DeleteAlso I hate you for not loving Love Me Like You Do.
I love Locked Away and like Emergency
DeleteEmergency is so annoying. Worst song on Hit-Bound.
DeleteffDurp and Adrian: The addition of Adam Levine is the only good thing. R. City will always be known as songwriters, not singers. So I advise you both to lock yourself away, together, and listen to the song until you get sick of it.
DeleteAnd you know what's catchy? EMERGENCY.
Miles: I hated LMLYD from the start, so go love yourself like you do.
Bennett and Graham: You like Emergency too? Fantastic!
Everyone: I love Emergency, I love Locked Away. Crap Me Like You Do is old as the Stone Age, so can we please just get along?

ReplyDeleteYup. Another cheesy Disney soundtrack.
Delete-Remy
OK, I hate you for not liking Descendants. It's like the best movie soundtrack out there!
DeleteRTTC is actually not bad. Only Me sucks, however.
Delete-Remy
If Only? That's actually better.
DeleteIf wildest dreams make it on hits 1, I will go CRAZY!
ReplyDeleteIt probably will. You know Hits 1.
DeleteAlso, how's my baby Katrina doing?

ReplyDeleteMy summer vacation is officially over. It's been fun. There have been memories made that can't be taken away, there have been others…I'd like to forget. But still, the summer has been great, and aside from the bug bites and slight sunburns, it did not hurt. So take that, Maroon 5. (JK THO)
In conclusion, I bid farewell to my summer vacation and look forward to a new beginning…

Well said, Thatch. Well said.

Just wanted to tell you guys: Tuesday will be a very big anniversary for not only me, but for the entire music community, specifically the Hits 1 Weekend Countdown. I'll reveal what it is then, but if anyone can guess before then, the anniversary party will last longer, from then until Tuesday! Good luck, guys, and thanks for reading!
ReplyDeleteWhich Tuesday? Next Tuesday?
DeleteI'm guessing it's the anniversary of the first Hits 1 Weekend Countdown ever published.
-Remy
Did anybody else see Samantha Johnson on America's got talent? She was amazing last night. She can probably win this. Everyone go vote for her
ReplyDeleteI voted for Piff The Magic Dragon. Samantha was good too.
DeleteI voted for Paul Zerdin.
DeleteAt least Piff's dog is still alive. :P
DeleteOh yes. Mr. Piffles lived. I can't imagine the amount of pressure that was on Howie Mandel when he had to start guessing boxes.
DeleteEveryone! I have new worst song of 2015 and it is...
ReplyDeleteLana Del Ray-High By The Beach
Most Missed Song: Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass
ReplyDeleteMost Missed Song(s): Meghan Trainor- Lips Are Movin' and Meghan Trainor- Dear Future Husband
DeleteAlso, even though it left just last week: DJ Snake/AlunaGeorge- You Know You Like It
-Remy
Flo Rida ft. Sia – Wild Ones
DeleteI loved that song definately one of my favorite songs in 2013
DeleteWild Ones was from 2012...
DeleteOh
DeleteAnd now...
ReplyDeleteIt's time for...
Remy's edition of Songs That Need To Leave The Countdown Or Else I Will Forever Hate Them!
Here they are:
Uma Crapman
Blank Space
Sugar (it's really bitter now, instead of "sugar sweet")
Jealous, even though I'm not anymore
Centuries, as that describes its own countdown tenure
Uptown Crap
Crapping Out Loud (lol that one was actually funny)
Crap Me Like You Do (I don't love you anymore)
Bright (you're now dim, in my opinion)
Crapping Body (lol this one's funny as well)
Something's Gotta Give, as in if song doesn't leave soon, something HAS to give in order for me to be happy again
Style, it's been out of style for waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too long
Want To Want Me (yeah I don't want you anymore)
LEAVE NOW, ALL OF YOU!
Thank you.
-Remy
Oh, whoops, I almost forgot...
DeleteCrap Up And Dance, cause I'm not dancing to this stupid old song anymore
-Remy
I have news to tell you
ReplyDeleteAnnabelle and Mimi grown so fast that they traveled the world
Alsos, any plans for the wildest dreams music video?
My plan is nature themed
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletePiff and benton blunt made it through and triple threat and the contortionist went home
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy about these two!
DeletePaul Zerdin Siro A amd the stutterer(drew lynch) made it through
ReplyDeleteAnd samantha Johnson (Tori Kelly wannabe)
ReplyDeleteJudges pick Alondra.
Delete*picked
Deleteand Alondra santos
ReplyDeleteHey uh squad... Want To Want Me is #1 on ITunes....... :))))
ReplyDelete:((((( 💧💦💧
DeleteHuh? I just checked, and Can't Feel My Face was #1. It has been floating around the top 10, recently. Maybe because of the karaoke video with Luke Bryan…
DeleteYEP
LUKE BRYAN AND JASON DERULO
:D
I meant #11...
DeleteHahaha
I'm happy the annoying Lana Del Rey song, High By The Beach is not #1 anymore. I can't stand that song. But hey.................Lean On is #3!!!!!!!
DeleteIm sad about vita and Craig and Michellne, Benton didn't deserve to make it. I am so happy the gentleman are gone. Samantha and drew for the win. Triple treat was good but this week they were awful. Happy about alandra. Puff wasn't amazing this week but he was great until now. Samantha Johnson must win. Paul Zerdin and siro-a were good glad they moved on. Finally Samantha for the win and extremely sad about vita
ReplyDeleteBenton Blount is amazing. He and Piff The Magic Dragon had my votes. I really didn't care for Vita and Craig + Michelle. Samantha was really good and I was shocked that she was on the three acts that got the least amount of votes. The Gentlemen should not have made it through the judge cuts so I'm happy they're gone now.
DeletePiff was my favorite Up until this point so I am glad he moved on, but Benton I didn't dislike or like him, I thought he was just kind of average. I also agree, how did Samantha get in the bottom? Do you like drew alondra Paul and siro-a?
DeleteI think Drew Lynch is pretty funny. I like him. Paul Zerdin is pretty funny too. But I'm not as big of a fan as others are. I was kind of shocked when Howard Stern said he was the best act of the night. But he was good, don't get me wrong. Siro A was pretty good. I don't think I was really amazed but it was good. Alondra Santos was good too and I have to say, she did put on a show Tuesday night. I'm so happy she went through over The Gentlemen.
DeleteAs for Samantha being in the bottom 3, I think I know why. I think everyone thought she had no problem going through, so no one voted for her. I used my Dunkin' Save vote on her but my mom apparently liked Alondra more.
I used mine on alondra because Samantha was so far ahead and I thought whichever two got the most votes got to move thorough. I didn't know about the judges save
DeleteBut Samantha was better. Spoiler alert she will be on the top 50 chart
Deleteam I the only one that doesnt like Samantha Johnson because shes a tori kelly wannabe? And Yes I agree with Adrian on everything else
ReplyDeleteI hate you mikey
DeleteDon't we all?
DeleteOMG

Wait, Here instead of Growing Up because I've seen that song on the DogStarRadio, Growing Up might debut on Hitbound next week. I forgot Here.
DeleteRun Away With Me and Let's Love are definitely not going to debut. They haven't had enough airplay. They haven't even aired 10 times yet.
DeleteRunaway With Me is a possible debut maybe at like #45 or something
DeleteNo it's not. Some songs have aired 20 times like Black Magic last week but didn't make the countdown.
DeleteTrue it probably won't
DeleteBut when Marvin Gaye debuted it had like 15 spins
DeleteWHAT? 5SOS RELEASING A NEW ALBUM! THEY WENT TO A MCDONALD'S FLR FREE FOOD
ReplyDeleteOk guys. Let me ell you about my best day EVER!
ReplyDeleteIt started on may 9, 2015 that I woke up on my moms bed. I decided tomcheckmon her phone about the countdown. The first exciting thing that happened was octahate debuting. I was so happy I screamed. The second exciting thing that happened was in edmonton, we found bean boozled jellybean s. I always wanted to try. The next stop is the trampoline park. It was a fun time. But I got a headshot while dodgeball for all ages. But still fun. When we went to Costco, I found herbal essences, one of my favorite shampoo brands. I was like, this was the best day ever! In the end.
THE END.

DeleteBut WALK THE MOON will probably have one more week. (And this week WILL BE the last. It WILL.)
I'd definetily rather have See You Again at #1 than Shut Up And Dance.
Delete-Brian
SUAD and See You Again are both old.
DeleteTrue but SYA is better
DeleteRemember back in June that Katherine McPhee lick my lips are on on my way to school
ReplyDeletewut?
DeleteYeah, A WHILE AGO

I LIVE IN NEW YORK...
DeleteBut in the city lol :)
Also, I am going to Minneapolis for the weekend so my post might not be out until monday
I love Again it debuted at #28 on my top 45 chart this week
DeleteUgh dear god. Fetty Wap needs to be abolished from the music industry forever. He is one of those rare artists who continues to annoy me with every single he releases. 4 singles recently, none of them have impressed me at all.
DeleteI swear, the Hip-Hop/Rap genre has never been as bad as it's been this year. 2015 is its new low.
DUN DUN DUN!

DeletePredictions for August 14, 2015:
ReplyDeleteExits:
I Really Like You (About time.)
I'm Good (WTF no!)
Take Your Time (You'll be missed.)
Entrants:
Song For Someone (YAS!)
Gibberish (Ugh.)
Ghost Town (Why, it should've debuted a long time ago but it may grow on me again.)
Biggest Jump: Uma Thurman (Absoutely not.)
Biggest Jump: Bad Girls (I'm upset.)
#1 Shut The Crap Up And Dance (I want Cheerleader.)
This will not be a good week overall because my predictions for both the biggest jump and biggest drop are unacceptable, #1 is unacceptable, 33% of good songs leaving the countdown, and 66% of bad songs leaving the countdown, I'm already tired of Centuries, Hey Mama, Honey I'm Good, Blank Space, See You Again, Sugar, Thinking Out Loud, Uptown Funk, I Don't Like It, I Love It, Shut Up And Dance, Jealous, Want To Want Me, and Hold My Hand because they all got old while This Summer's Gonna Hurt and Hideaway have been always bad so I'm begging all of those songs to leave now.
*66% of bad songs debuting the countdown
DeleteI'm also tired of Talking Body because it got old
DeleteGuys, I can't help it. After listening to mirriors, its make me emotional
