New Entrants
~ Since we got a re-entry from Los 5 – Manana, that means we have 5 new entrants this week.

~ Hailee Steinfeld – Love Myself is a song that I don't enjoy now as much as I did when I first listened to it due to me kind of overlistening to it within the past two weeks. But it's still a relatively good song.

~ Last we heard from Little Mix on this countdown was Wings from 2013. I don't know if Black Magic reaches the height of Wings. But aside from that, it's a good song. It's pretty catchy if you ask me.

~ I'm not necessarily happy about Wildest Dreams debuting mainly because Blank Space was forced to leave. Now on to the song. It's catchy right now. Taylor Swift is a really good singer in my opinion. But this song doesn't wow me as much as her other songs. It's good. Don't get me wrong. But I'm just not feeling it the way I felt some of her other songs. Like, this song could be better.

~ YouTube15 veteran, R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away debuted this week. Overall, really catchy song. Adam Levine was a good choice for the chorus. I'm definitely a fan of this song.

~ Best for last, we have Zedd/Jon Bellion – Beautiful Now. Jon Bellion's vocals are just on point in this song. Every part of this song was done exceptionally well. I've been enjoying Zedd's album, True Colors, and this one is definitely one of my personal favorites.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound song list.

  • Alessia Cara – Here
  • Carly Rae Jepsen – Run Away With Me
  • Maroon 5 – Feelings
  • Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Downtown
  • Nick Jonas – Levels
  • Echosmith – Let's Love
  • A Great Big World – Hold Each Other
  • Icona Pop – Emergency
  • Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean?
  • Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You
  • Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together
  • Nico & Vinz/Bebe Rexha – That's How You Know
  • Andy Grammer – Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)
  • X Ambassadors – Renegades
  • Shy Carter – Bring It Back

~ So Jason Derulo – Cheyenne left Hit-Bound? This is not necessarily okay.

~ In terms of songs that won't debut the countdown, we have Icona Pop – Emergency still here.

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. X Ambassadors – Renegades
2. Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean?
3. Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together
4. A Great Big World – Hold Each Other
5. Nick Jonas – Levels

We're Blurbiful Now
~ American Authors – Go Big Or Go Home may be soon on its way out.

~ I really don't think I'm happy about MKTO – Bad Girls having the Biggest Jump Of The Week.

~ Charlie Puth/Meghan Trainor – Marvin Gaye is now in the Top 10. This song has gone farther than we all thought it would.

~ The fact that Taylor Swift – Style is still in the Top 5 is seriously not okay. It's absolutely ridiculous. Just leave already!!! Same applies for Want To Want Me.

~ Week after week, I continue to lose interest in Daya – Hide Away. Don't be surprised if it's red within the next few weeks.

~ Tove Lo – Talking Body back in the Top 10? Like wtf Hits 1?!

~ Now that Omi – Cheerleader is in the Bottom 5, hopefully it'll leave soon.

~ I'm actually sad that Taylor Swift – Blank Space left. I still really like that song for whatever reason. It's hands-down Taylor Swift's best song. I just can't get sick of it. Goodbye Blank Space. While just about everyone finds you old and annoying, I still enjoy listening to you. May you rest in peace at SiriusXM Hits 1 Weekend Countdown cemetery.

~ Dimitri Vegas/Like Mike/Ummet Ozcan – The Hum is in the Hits 1 playlist but not Hit-Bound. I am enjoying this song however. It's like hardcore EDM that I didn't think Hits 1 would ever play.

~ As usual, the Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Will One Direction – Drag Me Down hold at #1 for a second week in a row? You'll have to click to find out.
Link: http://hit45chart.blogspot.com/2015/08/hit-45-chart-week-of-august-29-2015.html

~ Demi Lovato – Cool For The Summer is now at #2 and.......wait a second.... Did I read that right?........Cool For The Summer..............at #2?!

OH MY GOSH PLEASE HIT #1 AND END THIS TERRIBLE REIGN FOR SHUT UP AND DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!

~ Goodbye David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack – Hey Mama. You may be old to a lot of people. But to me, you're still young and fresh! You will definitely be missed.

~ The MTV Video Music Awards are on tomorrow night. The fact that Miley Cyrus is hosting makes me want to just not watch it. But I'm going to anyways. Depending on how the night goes, I may or may not do a review for it. But there's an 80% chance I won't due to school and also having to work on a 500,000 pageview milestone. That may not come anytime soon, so just bear with me.

~ Best Song On YouTube15 AND Recommendation For The Countdown: JoJo – Save My Soul (This song is incredible! You NEED to listen to it!)

~ Throwback Pick Of The Week: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis/Wanz – Thrift Shop

My Top 5 Picks
1. One Direction – Drag Me Down
2. Zedd/Jon Bellion – Beautiful Now
3. Tori Kelly – Should've Been Us
4. MAX/Hoodie Allen – Gibberish
5. Demi Lovato – Cool For The Summer

Walk The Moon (8) – Week Of August 22, 2015

This countdown is fucked up on so many levels this week. Also, 5 Seconds Of Summer had the Weekend Takeover this weekend. I wonder if that had anything to do with this week being so bad. We're definitely at the darkest of the Dark Age on this countdown. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Maroon 5 – Maps

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: All Time Low – Something's Gotta Give (–15)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Charlie Puth/Meghan Trainor – Marvin Gaye (+16)

New Entrants
~ Phoebe Ryan – Mine has been roaming around the Hits 1 playlist for the past 5 months now. I really don't know what to think of this song. It's so catchy but I find her voice to be annoying at times.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away
  • Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You
  • Icona Pop – Emergency
  • Nico & Vinz/Bebe Rexha – That's How You Know
  • X Ambassadors – Renegades
  • Little Mix – Black Magic

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. X Ambassadors – Renegades
2. R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away
3. Zedd/Jon Bellion – Beautiful Now
4. Hailee Steinfeld – Love Myself
5. Little Mix – Black Magic

5 Blurbs Of Summer
~ Why don't we start with our obnoxious #1 song. It's bad enough it's still here at the top spot. But I don't see any songs that could potentially take the #1 away. We may be stuck with this one for a few more weeks.

~ Why is Style at #2? This is beyond irritating and hopefully it will be fixed next week.

~ #3 is even worse. Want To Want Me has officially hit a new peak which is most definitely not okay at this point. It needs to leave already!

~ Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman needs to exit the Top 10. Hits 1 has made Fall Out Boy one of the new most overrated artists. Thanks a lot. All because of that 2013 single, My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up).

~ Charlie Puth/Meghan Trainor – Marvin Gaye has been on this countdown for almost 3 months and it's just now entering the teens for the first time.

~ The only good thing that came out of this week was Omi – Cheerleader falling to #23.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Hey Mama will be our #1 song for an eleventh time overall and tie the record for most weeks at #1!!!

~ I am seriously not feeling very good. I either have a cold or allergies. But either way I'm not feeling good. I almost didn't want to post the countdown because I wasn't really in the mood. But here it is!

My Top 5 Picks
1. One Direction – Drag Me Down
2. David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack – Hey Mama
3. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Maroon 5 – Maps

Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Echosmith – Bright (–21)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman (+30) (shoot me now....)

New Entrants
~ Long time Hit-Bound veteran MAX/Hoodie Allen – Gibberish entered this week. I have to say it's a really catchy song. But the "gibberish" that comes right after the chorus sometimes gets a little repetitive.

~ Next we have our other long time Hit-Bound veteran Adam Lambert – Ghost Town. I don't love this song now as much as I did when it first came out (back in April of this year). But it is still a good song. I hope to see some sort of success from this song.

YouTube15
~ I received a request to review this week's edition of the YouTube15. So here we go. Here is the list of the trending songs on YouTube this week.

  • New Found Glory/Hayley Williams – Vicious Love
  • BIGBANG – Bang Bang Bang
  • Sweet California/Jake Miller – Wonderwoman
  • Robin Schulz/Jasmine Thompson – Sun Goes Down
  • Redfoo/Stevie Wonder – Where The Sun Goes
  • Sigala – Easy Love
  • Julian Perretta/RAC – Cheap Sunglasses
  • Prince Royce/Jennifer Lopez/Pitbull – Back It Up
  • Galantis – Peanut Butter Jelly
  • Madcon/Ray Dalton – Don't Worry
  • Jack & Jack – California
  • GIRLS GENERATION – Party
  • Sigma/Ella Henderson – Glitterball
  • Robin Schulz/Ilsey – Headlights
  • Pia Mia/Chris Brown/Tyga – Do It Again

Top 5 YouTube15 Picks
1. Madcon/Ray Dalton – Don't Worry
2. Pia Mia/Chris Brown/Tyga – Do It Again
3. Sweet California/Jake Miller – Wonderwoman
4. Prince Royce/Jennifer Lopez/Pitbull – Back It Up
5. Jack & Jack – California

Blurberish
~ Selena Gomez – Good For You is now officially annoying. Just when I thought it would leave, it makes a 20-spot leap.

~ Tori Kelly – Should've Been Us needs to jump into the Top 20. This song is definitely Tori Kelly's best song up-to-date.

~ Now that Tove Lo – Talking Body is finally out of the Top 10, it needs to start moving down more towards the bottom of the countdown.

~ The Weeknd – Can't Feel My Face is now in the Top 5. I still don't find this song any better than Earned It or even The Hills. The first verse is pretty good, but I think the beat just kills the song once it kicks in in that first chorus. That's just me though.

~ Something tells me that the end for The Heydaze – Dumb is coming. Please let it be next week.

~ I start school this Monday, so my blogging schedule will have to be altered a little bit. So my Hit 45 Chart posts may not always come out on Friday unfortunately.

~ Speaking of the Hit 45 Chart, this week's chart is out! Will Hey Mama be the #1 song for a tenth time overall?! You'll have to hang on to find out!

~ I was challenged to pick one emoji to describe how I feel about Shut Up and Dance hitting #1 yet again. So here is that one emoji.

~ Omi performed Cheerleader this past Wednesday on America's Got Talent. Let's just say it was bloody awful. He can't sing and I've seen only negative comments about his performance saying things like "the judges should've hit their buzzers" and "what a terrible way to kick off the show". I honestly couldn't agree more with these people. The YouTube video even has more dislikes than likes!!! I want you guys to watch this video that I'm about to put the link to down below and tell me what you think of it. Disregard your opinions on the song and just pay attention to the way he performs it. Clearly, this man here needs autotune.

~ Speaking of America's Got Talent, if you watched last season, you'd know Emily West, who was the runner-up to winner, Mat Franco (I still can't believe he won over her). Emily West did release her debut album yesterday. It's called, All For You. It features her covers of Sia – Chandelier and The Moody Blues – Nights In White Satin (both of which she performed while on AGT during the competition) as well as her debut single, Bitter. I suggest you just take a look at this album. Emily West is a phenomenal singer and I love how she immediately signed a record deal after the show and released this album.

~ Throwback Pick Of The Week: Gym Class Heroes/Adam Levine – Stereo Hearts

My Top 5 Picks
1. David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack – Hey Mama
2. One Direction – Drag Me Down
3. 5 Seconds Of Summer – She's Kinda Hot
4. Ed Sheeran – Photograph
5. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town

My Top 5 Least Faves
1. Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman
2. Maroon 5 – Sugar
3. Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me
4. Omi – Cheerleader
5. The Heydaze – Dumb

New Entrants
~ I think Daya has a really interesting voice and that's the only reason Hide Away is not terrible. Nothing about this song appeals to me. I honestly didn't think it would debut the countdown. But here it is.

~ Spyder Harrison had Niall Horan on the phone to talk about the new single, Drag Me Down as well as where he and the rest of the band is in the making of the music video and the new album. Let me just start off by saying that I think this band could possibly be better off without Zayn Malik. I know Directioners will disagree with me, but personally Zayn was my least favorite vocalist in the band. Drag Me Down is a really catchy and I've definitely been having it on repeat. I don't necessarily know if it's One Direction's best song, but it's definitely up there in......I don't know......Top 5 maybe? I definitely hope to see some success out of this song.

Nobody Can Drag Blurbs Down
~ All Time Low – Something's Gotta Give has jumped into the Top 10. I'm shocked. But I'm also happy about it.

~ Andy Grammer – Honey I'm Good was #1 two weeks ago and now I see it at #27. Hits 1 probably realized this song could possibly last a year and they don't want that to happen.

~ As for American Authors – Go Big Or Go Home, if I had to choose, I would choose go home! You better not go big!

~ Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me is so annoying! Start moving down already!!!

~ I remember a time when I said that Maroon 5 – This Summer's Gonna Hurt... was going to be my new jam. Now here I am completely sick of it. That didn't take too long.

~ Good riddance to DJ Snake/AlunaGeorge – You Know You Like It. It's about time it left us. Thankfully that huge jump it made didn't last very long.

~ I did not think Selena Gomez – Good For You would drop to #40. It's fine by me though. I have lost interest in that song.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Hey Mama will be the #1 song for a ninth time overall!

It's safe to say we're currently in the Dark Ages of the Weekend Countdown. Things aren't looking too hot in the Top 5. Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Maroon 5 – This Summer’s Gonna Hurt... (–25)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Echosmith – Bright (+20)

New Entrants
~ Los 5 – Manana is a song I didn't necessarily care about when it came out. However, I slowly grew into it while it was on Hit-Bound. There's definitely worse on this countdown.

~ Sam Smith – Like I Can, unlike Lay Me Down, is one of his more upbeat, faster-paced songs and that's what I like to hear. I like songs that are fast rather than slow. Like I Can is probably the best song I've heard from Sam Smith up-to-date.

Hit-Bound
~ Deorro/Chris Brown – Five More Hours annoyingly left Hit-Bound this week. Why?!?!?!

~ I can guarantee you Daya – Hide Away is not going to debut on the countdown. I just don't see it happening. Might as well get rid of it now and spare all these good songs from getting the boot.

~ Icona Pop – Emergency is so annoying it's not even funny. I can't stand it every time it comes on the radio. And to think they couldn't have any song more annoying than I Love It from 2013. This song is a HUGE step back for these girls.

~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Zedd/Jon Bellion – Beautiful Now
  • A Great Big World – Hold Each Other
  • Jason Derulo – Cheyenne
  • Maroon 5 – Feelings
  • Icona Pop – Emergency
  • One Direction – Drag Me Down
  • Shy Carter – Bring It Back
  • X Ambassadors – Renegades
  • MAX/Hoodie Allen – Gibberish
  • Kaya Stewart – In Love With A Boy
  • R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away
  • Little Mix – Black Magic
  • Daya – Hide Away
  • Nico & Vinz/Bebe Rexha – That's How You Know
  • Adam Lambert – Ghost Town
  • Just Seconds Apart – Unbelievable

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. TIE: X Ambassadors – Renegades
1. TIE: One Direction – Drag Me Down
3. A Great Big World – Hold Each Other
4. Little Mix – Black Magic
5. R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away

He'll Never Love Blurbs Like I Can, Can, Can
~ Thanks to Fifth Harmony – Worth It entering the Top 10 this week, we now have 2 good songs in the Top 10. Still not enough, but I can live with it........for now.

~ I'm having a hard time believing people are still enjoying Tove Lo – Talking Body. Does anyone even like that song anymore? It's been extremely overplayed and I can't really stand it anymore.

~ On the other hand, D. Guetta/N. Minaj/B. Rexha/Afrojack – Hey Mama is one of those songs I can listen to hundreds of times in a row and still never get sick of it. I'm sure everyone has gone through that with at least one song.

~ Bea Miller – Fire N Gold is at #11. I'm not even kidding when I say I did not think this song would get that high. I thought it would pull a tenure similar to Young Blood, but clearly I was wrong.

~ Taylor Swift – Style is honestly annoying the crap out of me right now. We get it Taylor! You never go out of style!!!

~ Selena Gomez – Good For You clearly didn't last very long. It's still relatively high on iTunes though.

~ I have to say, our two exits were two of my summer songs of 2015. Way to give them the early boot, Hits 1.

~ I don't know about you, but I can now live knowing that Animals is not the only Maroon 5 song to not hit #1.

~ Echosmith – Bright having the Biggest Jump Of The Week is just not okay Hits 1. I'm tired of this. Does anyone even enjoy this song anymore?

~ Earlier today, I was challenged to describe how I felt about Shut Up and Dance hitting #1 this week in one word. That one word is: PISSED.

~ As usual, my Hit 45 Chart for this weekend is out! Find out if Hey Mama will be our #1 song for an eighth time overall if you didn't already.

~ Throwback Pick Of The Week: Maroon 5/Christina Aguilera – Moves Like Jagger

My Top 5 Picks
1. David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack – Hey Mama
2. Ed Sheeran – Photograph
3. Tori Kelly – Should've Been Us
4. Demi Lovato – Cool For The Summer
5. Sam Smith – Like I Can
