Recently Taylor Swift shared that her mother, Andrea Finlay, has been diagnosed with cancer. I don't know about you but I'm praying for her mother. Taylor has had a lot of love and support with #PrayForMamaSwift which was created by Shawn Mendes. And there are a lot of other celebrities praying for her and her family including Lady Gaga. So that's what's been happening recently. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

New Entrants
~ Long-time Hit-Bound veteran Tove Lo – Talking Body debuted this week. I hated this song at first. But within the several months it was on Hit-Bound, I've grown to enjoy it for what it is. And what it is is a very sexual song. But damn is it catchy!
~ After his last countdown song lasted only two weeks, David Guetta is back with the DJ help of Afrojack on the track Hey Mama, featuring Nicki Minaj in the verses and Bebe Rexha in the chorus. Another kinda sexual song. I'm pretty sure there's no other reason someone would want to be called like "Hey Mama". The song is really catchy. It's one of my personal faves from Guetta's album, Listen. I really hope to see some success out of it.
~ Finally, we have returning artists Charli XCX and Rita Ora. After they both collaborated with Iggy Azalea to make two smash hits, they thought they would make a good collaboration themselves, and they did. Their song Doing It is probably Charli XCX's best song. Though I enjoy Rita Ora's part more than Charli XCX's, it's still a really catchy which I hope to some success out of unlike her last countdown song, Break The Rules.
Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:
- Cash Cash/Julia Michaels – Surrender
- Cody Simpson – New Problems
- Shaggy/Mohombi/Faydee/Costi – I Need Your Love
- Betty Who – All Of You
- All Time Low – Something's Gotta Give
- INNA/Marian Hill – Diggy Down
- Katy Tiz – Whistle (While You Work It)
- Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You
- Nate Ruess – Nothing Without Love
- Sia – Elastic Heart
- Ryn Weaver – OctaHate
- Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth – See You Again
- Who Is Fancy – Goodbye
- Steve Aoki/Moxie – I Love It When You Cry
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth – See You Again
2. Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You
3. Shaggy/Mohombi/Faydee/Costi – I Need Your Love
4. INNA/Marian Hill – Diggy Down
5. Steve Aoki/Moxie – I Love It When You Cry
I Think We Better Blurb It Like We're Blurbing It Now
~ CAUTION: Maroon 5 – Sugar has reached the dangerous #2 spot. If Style can do its best and hold the #1 spot as long as possible, that would be greatly appreciated.
~ I've just about had it with Hits 1 underranking the #4 song on iTunes.
~ Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney – FourFive Seconds finally got the jump it deserved.
~ How the f**k is Heroes and Don't still here? Hits 1 needs to get their act together and realize those songs aren't popular anymore.
~ Good riddance to ALL of these exits, you all deserved to leave!!!
~ Take a look at this countdown. Do you see anything missing? No? This week marks the first week since November 16, 2013 where we do not have a OneRepublic song on the countdown. Please note that this streak of weeks with Fall Out Boy on the countdown is still continuing from February 9, 2013. We've already surpassed the two-year mark. Who knews how long this will continue.
~ R5 – Let's Not Be Alone Tonight is slowly moving up again.
~ Olly Murs/Demi Lovato – Up and Robin Schulz/Jasmine Thompson – Sun Goes Down continue to trend on the YouTube15 w/ Jenna Marbles. Seriously I remember Sun Goes Down trending back in December of last year.
~ #1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Rihanna – Bitch Better Have My Money (It's my new jam!!!)
My Top 5 Picks
1. Charli XCX/Rita Ora – Doing It
2. David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack – Hey Mama
3. Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do
4. Taylor Swift – Style
5. The Weeknd – Earned It
this countdown is much better
ReplyDeleteMan Walk The Moon - Shut up and dance is Blue?

DeleteThanks I've followed the blog for months but didn't start commenting til now
Deleteim so sad that tool aka time of our lives left. i started commenting since november 1,2014. i want tool to re enter but didn't
DeleteI agree with this guy about shut up adn dance IT SHOULD BE PURPLE and wrapped up should be green
ReplyDeleteShut Up and Dance is NOWHERE near being purple. And Wrapped Up is actually not that good compared to Olly Murs' previous songs. Be grateful it's not in red.
DeleteI understand because they are a little old
DeleteBy the way how close is life of dillon overload to being blue
DeleteMy review:
ReplyDeletex20. Huh. This was surprising! (pink)
x44. Goodbye again. (yellow)
x45. Thank you for being a wonderful, inspiring song. (purple)
45. This needs to be replaced with Alesso/Roy English - Cool. (turquoise)
44. This had better be your last week. (red)
43. I now have a solid opinion on this song: it's bad. (red)
42. Goodbye in advance. (purple)
41. WHAT? NO! (green)
40. Huh. (yellow)
39. Okay, that's enough. (turquoise)

35. Better late than never! (green)
34. This is either the end or the beginning… (green)
33. I see that in its first week it's already outpeaked Dangerous. I'm saddened by this. When it comes to this song, it's alright. Not as good as Dangerous, but I love Guetta and Afrojack’s production. (blue)
32. I read during the week that the vocals you hear in this song are the same ones in the original demo. The record label thought the vocals had too much emotion to scrap. That's pretty cool. (turquoise)
31. GO AWAY (orange - tie with below)
30. UGH (orange - tie with above)
29. no comment (yellow)
28. I'm just gonna be outlandish and bet that this song might rise up and hit #1. (purple - tie)
27. COME ON JUST JUMP JUMP NOW (green)
26. This song will probably drop to #44 in a couple of weeks. (blue)
25. At least reach the top 10! (purple - #3waytie)
24. This song has probably reached its peak. (green)
23. This'll probably pull a FourFiveSeconds. (green)
22. Called it. It's a shame, though. (green)
21. I don't think this song'll do so well. (blue/green)
20. I predict it'll hit top 10 and then sorta dwindle down. (blue)
19. This is a run destined to fail, sadly. (green)
18. This is the beginning of the end… (green)
17. Original > Remix (blue for remix)
16. YAAAAAAAAS (green)
15. I think this song just might've reached its peak. (green)
14. I found out during the week that this song is playing on…none other than…Radio Disney.
In an edited form, of course. (blue)
13. Oh, no. (red)
12. NO GET BACK INTO THE TOP 10 (green)
11. I admit: I was wrong when I said this song has reached its peak. And I'm happy I'm wrong. (green)
10. Now's the right time to say that even though her songs are old to me, I will pray for Taylor, Andrea, and their family. (turquoise)
9. That's enough. (pink)
8. I do not know about this one. (pink)
7. YES YES YES YES!!!!! (purple - #4waysbaby)
6. This song has (probably) reached its peak. (blue)
5. #1 would be nice. (green)
4. This was honestly the kind of drop this song needed. Not too big, but big enough. (pink)
3. If this breaks the record for weeks on top of the Hot 100………….…no. (yellow)
2. I'd like this to hit #1. For a week or two. (green/blue)
1. If somebody else had released this song, it wouldn't be at #1. Just saying. (blue)

DeleteThis Week's #NúmeroUnoPorFavor: Imagine Dragons - I Bet My Life
DeleteThatchos' Most Missed Song of the Week: David Guetta/Sam Martin - Dangerous
Song I Suddenly Really Love of the Week: Zedd/Selena Gomez - I Want You to Know
Song Not on Hits 1 I Recommend of the Week: Train - Bulletproof Picasso
Song I'm Happy Isn't on Hits 1: Chris Brown/Tyga - Ayo
Song That MUST Debut of the Week: Nate Ruess - Nothing Without Love
Freshest Gem of the Week: Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth - See You Again
Throwback Pick of the Week: Billy Joel - The Stranger
How Spyder introduced #1: "This may be the first time at #1 for this song, but it's Taylor's eighth non-consecutive time at #1 in 2015, and her 22nd week at #1 off her 1989 album. Up 1 to #1, here's Taylor Swift with Style, on the SiriusXM Hits 1 Weekend Countdown."
Correction: "This may be the first time at #1 for this song, but it's Taylor's ***SEVENTH*** non-consecutive time at #1 in 2015, and her ***NINETEENTH*** week at #1 off her 1989 album."
Conclusion: Hits 1 either has their calculations wrong, or they're trying to make T-Swizzle more powerful than she actually is.
This week's Continental Chart is OUT! See if Nate Ruess can cling to the top spot for a third week. Here's the link: http://continentalchart.blogspot.com/2015/04/continental-chart-week-of-april-11-2015.html
Thanks for reading!
Thatchos is out. PEACE!

Lay Me Down = bad?
ReplyDeleteDoing It = good?
Just... why?
DeleteThat's just how it is. Lay Me Down is really slow and bad. I think Sam Smith is only getting worse from here.
DeleteDoing It is fun and energetic. It makes me wanna get up and dance. And if a song makes me wanna do that, then that song is a keeper.
Hey, I like Sam Smith - Lay Me Down and Charli XCX/Rita Ora - Doing It.
DeleteI prefer the solo version of Lay Me Down over the John Legend version, though. Not that the John Legend version is bad, the solo version's just better. Why? I don't know. Maybe it's the strings...
Sam Smith + his collaborator = LEGENDary. (See what I did there?)
DeleteThere are 2 things wrong about Doing It:
1. You got into it before I did (well, that really isn't a reason), and
2. it's about sex!
But Charli XCX and Rita Ora together is a good collaboration.
You two still here?
DeleteDoing It is about sex? That makes all three debuts about sex!
DeleteI'M HERE.
DeleteI'M ALWAYS HERE.
>:D
#JustKiddinTho
Rihanna-Bitch Better Have My Money should not debut. It is terrible. So please request Rihanna/Kanye West-FourFiveSeconds to be on as long as it wants. I don't even mind if it stays here for at least a year. I will tell Spyder this
ReplyDeleteI don't care about Sam Smith-Lay Me Down. Just hope it rebounds soon. and Charli XCX/Rita Ora-Doing air never debuted anywhere else. Both singers are British
ReplyDeleteThat is kinda racist. I like Lay me down and Doing it.
ReplyDeleteI will hopefully have a countdown and hitbound review both out today. If not tommorow
Oh, you know what else is racist? YOUR FACE!
DeleteOOOOOOOOOOOOH BUUUUURRRRRRNNNNNN!
Delete-Remy
Why hasn't Fancy debuted the countdown yet?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Do you mean Who Is Fancy?
DeleteOh, yeah. Whoops, sorry.
DeleteI definitely do NOT want Fancy to re-enter. That would be disaster.
But, at this rate, why would it?
-Remy
And speaking of Who Is Fancy- Goodbye, Adrian, why'd ya put it in blue? It deserves to be AT LEAST green, in my opinion.
ReplyDelete-Remy (pray for T-Swiz's mom for me please!)
IDK. It's kinda weird to me.
DeleteThere is too much red on this countdown. Lay Me Down and Bright should be blue. When will Geronimo leave the countdown? Or at least drop to #45.
ReplyDeleteOops. I don't know why I put Bright in red. I meant to put it in blue. Now I gotta fix that. :P
Deletelol trance u got me also r u ever gonna blog again?
ReplyDeleteReview will be out tommorow hitbound and countdown
Goodbye is a little annoying but really catchy. It would make borderline green.
HOW DONT U LIKE SEE YOU AGAIN
We also need an Infinity going away party
i went to gymnastics today and IT RULES! i even do good in the trampoline!
ReplyDeleteUma Thurman is still pretty good, in my opinion. Also, who wants me to do a Hit-bound review? I'd be more than happy to do one. I haven't done one of them in a while, though...
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, we do need an Infinity-be-gone party.
-Remy
I wouldn't mind reading a Hit-Bound review. I actually don't know your opinion on half of the songs on Hit-Bound. So a review would be good.
DeleteKeep praying for T Swifts mom!

Delete- JTX - Love In America never hit #1 even though it deserved to. But it was stuck behind the overrated artist at the time.
Delete- Omg I loved Tinie Tempah ft. Eric Turner - Written In The Stars. Definitely one of my favorite songs at the time!
- There were artists like Christina Perri and Colbie Caillat who have not been on the countdown since even though they've both been making music hitting some radio stations like The Pulse.
- Overall this was a good countdown. Now I have some 2011 Throwback songs so that's good.
I actually did some searching on CountdownRecap's blog and found out that even though JTX - Love in America never hit #1 on the Weekend Countdown, it ended up being the #1 song of 2011!! #DasCray
DeleteWell then it must have spent a LOT of time at #2. Usually year-end #1 songs spent a few weeks at #1 at some point during the year.
DeleteMaybe it just spent a lot of time on the countdown overall. That's been the case with dark horses like…well, like Dark Horse…
DeleteHere are the past few #1's for years:
ReplyDelete2011: JTX - Love in America
2012: One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful
2013: Fall Out Boy - My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)
2014: OneRepublic - Counting Stars
2015 (so far): Taylor Swift - Blank Space
It's usually the longest tenured song each year.
Delete#1 songs of 2015 so far
ReplyDeleteTaylor Swift-Blank Space and Style
Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars-Uptown Funk
Ed Sheeran-Thinking Out Loud
Fall Out Boy-Centuries
This is Jack Lambert
Everyone should check out Steve Aoki ft. Linkin Park - Darker Than Blood. I really like it. Definitely better than I Love It When You Cry. You might think so too.
ReplyDeleteGUESS WHAT I HEARD: OMI- CHEERLEADER ON HITS 1 I LIKE IT
ReplyDeleteBad new: I heard Infinity AND Maps
I hate all of the above except for Maroon 5-Maps
ReplyDeleteInfinity is going to debut.
ReplyDeletenot sure if someone mentioned it but House On Fire by Ryan Cabrera House On Fire was the 15th song on Hitbound. I don't think that it will be Hitbound much longer or appear at all on the countdown
