~ Our one new entrant this week is Mama's House by Push Baby (who formerly went by the name Rixton). I liked these guys when they made music under the name Rixton. But something about this new song is not working for me. I don't know why they would change their name to something as bad as Push Baby. And I just find the song bland and I don't like the high-pitched vocals. I hope this doesn't stick around long.

Mama's Blurbs

~ Given the current state of our Top 10, I Don't Care by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber is the only good song that I think has a shot at hitting #1. I would appreciate if it did since it's better than If I Can't Have You. But we'll see what ends up happening.

~ Old Town Road by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus is now in the Top 10. I don't hate this song as much as I used to. I still don't like the trap beat and I think Nas' voice is pretty mediocre. But I like Billy Ray Cyrus here and I like that last chorus. It's not good, but there's a lot worse here, so this might just manage to escape my Bottom 10 songs of 2019.

~ Kaskade/Meghan Trainor – With You is moving up for some reason even though it's not a hit. But Hits 1 is clearly trying to make Meghan Trainor relevant again, just like the NBC show Songland tried doing a couple weeks ago. That didn't work and I doubt this will either.

~ Within the past week, I've grown to really like Summer Days. I just love the groove of it and Patrick Stump sounds great here. Macklemore is the icing on the cake. I honestly think we need more songs like this.

~ I've also grown to really like Don't Give Up On Me by Andy Grammer. I know I was critical of it when it debuted. Ignore what I said at that time because I've come to realize that this is his best song since Back Home. It's just a really nice song with great lyrics and I love the chorus. I wish this was doing better here.

~ As far as the exit goes, we said goodbye to Flexible, which is the pure definition of mediocre irrelevant music. I'm not sure why Hits 1 picked this up in the first place, but at least it's gone.
