New Entrants
~ First up, we have PRETTYMUCH with Summer On You. Previously, these guys brought Would You Mind, which failed to graduate from Hit-Bound. I thought that song was okay. It wasn't anything too exciting. Now Summer On You is even less interesting. I just find the song underwhelming for the most part. It's not very interesting at all and I got bored listening to it. Their vocals aren't enough to make up for the underwhelming production. It's not a very good song overall, but it's not bad. I can't really picture this lasting long, so we'll see what happens.

~ Next we have lovelytheband with Broken. I figured this would debut eventually with its rising popularity. I honestly don't really have much to say about it. It's decent and it's grown on me with time. I will say that this has a greater chance of growing on me completely than Summer On You. This is kind of like your typical alternative song. There's nothing too amazing about it. These guys kind of remind of Foster The People, though not as good because I find the production here to be lacking something interesting if that makes sense. It's just not something that would really grab my attention if it were to come on the radio. I do like the vocals though. Overall, it's decent and could get better. I have a feeling this will do well.

Best Debut of the Week: lovelytheband – Broken

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list.

  • Pnau – Go Bang (DEBUT)
  • Weezer – Africa
  • Years & Years – If You're Over Me
  • DJ Khaled/Justin Bieber/Chance The Rapper/Quavo – No Brainer (DEBUT)
  • Brown & Gray – Top Down
  • Zedd/Elley Duhé – Happy Now
  • Charlie Puth – The Way I Am
  • Train/Cam/Travie McCoy – Call Me Sir
  • Ariana Grande – God Is A Woman
  • Justin Timberlake – SoulMate
  • Bebe Rexha – I'm a Mess
  • Dan + Shay – Tequila
  • Big Boi – All Night
  • Noah Cyrus, MAX – Team (DEBUT)
  • Dennis Lloyd – Nevermind

~ So far I've listened to Go Bang once and I actually find it kind of annoying. I usually like this kind of music, but something this song just turns me off. The vocals aren't very good and the song seems very repetitive. I don't know. Maybe it'll grow on me, but no guarantees.

~ No Brainer is basically I'm The One 2.0. DJ Khaled is slowly becoming a more annoying individual. The production here is pretty lazy and of course Khaled gets the blame for that once again. Quavo sounds like typical Quavo, so not much to say there. The only enjoyable parts of the song are the chorus and the verse from Justin Bieber as well as the verse from Chance. Everything else is mediocre at best. DJ Khaled needs to up his game a little bit. I'm looking for something more along the lines of Wild Thoughts.

~ Our good debut this week comes from returning artists Noah Cyrus and MAX. The song is called Team. Overall, I think it's a nice song. The lyrics are good and I like the use of the guitar. MAX sounds good like he usually does. Noah Cyrus still sounds a little flat, but her vocals here are more tolerable than they were on her previous solo singles. I feel like MAX is the one who kind of saves the song. But either way, the song is enjoyable and it puts me in a good mood. So I would like to see this debut soon.

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Weezer – Africa
2. Dan + Shay – Tequila
3. Bebe Rexha – I'm A Mess
4. Justin Timberlake – SoulMate
5. Noah Cyrus/MAX – Team

Blurbs On You
~ Marshmello/Anne-Marie – Friends is back up in the Top 5 for some reason. This annoying friend-zone anthem only gets worse with each listen. I'm not sure why this is still so popular, but this just has to end. Seriously.

~ Three entries in the Top 10, Girls Like You and I Wanna Know are back and I'm indifferent on both still. The only exciting entrant is Don't Go Breaking My Heart. I'm glad to see this one doing well here. Backstreet Boys deserve it. They're still very talented.

~ Dua Lipa – IDGAF finally dropped a little bit and One Kiss took its place. So things are starting to look a little bit better around here. Hopefully both songs continue on the path they're currently on.

~ As expected MNEK/Hailee Steinfeld – Colour took quite a drop. I just could not see this one as a hit. It's not a bad song. But it's just not memorable in my opinion.

~ Walk The Moon – One Foot is still here fortunately. I still think this song is amazing, so hopefully it can keep it up for another while. I would love to see this song hang around for another couple months or so. We'll see what happens.

~ As far as the exits go, Too Good leaving was expected. It was a good song, but I didn't care too much for it. Good riddance to Rich on the other hand. This was a poor excuse for country music. I like Maren Morris on songs like My Church and 80s Mercedes. But Rich is not good and it's a shame that that was her only solo single to ever play on Hits 1.

~ I just noticed this, but no one corrected me on my Top 20 Review last week. I accidentally ranked On The Loose even though it was #23 and I missed Back To You. My fault obviously, but no one pointed it out. :P

    2. Tbh I'm a bit thrown off by that as well. I thought Hits1 really loved TOP. Even Heavydirtysoul wasn't that popular elsewhere and yet it peaked just outside the Top 10 if I remember correctly.

    3. Yeah that sucks! Jumpsuit is great.

    1. I don't understand at all how In My Feelings is dropping. I know it's urban, but it's a really strong Hot 100 #1, plus it's almost Top 10 on Pop already, plus the Kiki challenge (which is dangerous, so don't do it) is popular.

    2. I guess Hits 1 doesn't actually care about how popular songs are
