New Entrants
~ First up, we have PRETTYMUCH with Summer On You. Previously, these guys brought Would You Mind, which failed to graduate from Hit-Bound. I thought that song was okay. It wasn't anything too exciting. Now Summer On You is even less interesting. I just find the song underwhelming for the most part. It's not very interesting at all and I got bored listening to it. Their vocals aren't enough to make up for the underwhelming production. It's not a very good song overall, but it's not bad. I can't really picture this lasting long, so we'll see what happens.
~ Next we have lovelytheband with Broken. I figured this would debut eventually with its rising popularity. I honestly don't really have much to say about it. It's decent and it's grown on me with time. I will say that this has a greater chance of growing on me completely than Summer On You. This is kind of like your typical alternative song. There's nothing too amazing about it. These guys kind of remind of Foster The People, though not as good because I find the production here to be lacking something interesting if that makes sense. It's just not something that would really grab my attention if it were to come on the radio. I do like the vocals though. Overall, it's decent and could get better. I have a feeling this will do well.
Best Debut of the Week: lovelytheband – Broken

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list.
- Pnau – Go Bang (DEBUT)
- Weezer – Africa
- Years & Years – If You're Over Me
- DJ Khaled/Justin Bieber/Chance The Rapper/Quavo – No Brainer (DEBUT)
- Brown & Gray – Top Down
- Zedd/Elley Duhé – Happy Now
- Charlie Puth – The Way I Am
- Train/Cam/Travie McCoy – Call Me Sir
- Ariana Grande – God Is A Woman
- Justin Timberlake – SoulMate
- Bebe Rexha – I'm a Mess
- Dan + Shay – Tequila
- Big Boi – All Night
- Noah Cyrus, MAX – Team (DEBUT)
- Dennis Lloyd – Nevermind
~ So far I've listened to Go Bang once and I actually find it kind of annoying. I usually like this kind of music, but something this song just turns me off. The vocals aren't very good and the song seems very repetitive. I don't know. Maybe it'll grow on me, but no guarantees.
~ No Brainer is basically I'm The One 2.0. DJ Khaled is slowly becoming a more annoying individual. The production here is pretty lazy and of course Khaled gets the blame for that once again. Quavo sounds like typical Quavo, so not much to say there. The only enjoyable parts of the song are the chorus and the verse from Justin Bieber as well as the verse from Chance. Everything else is mediocre at best. DJ Khaled needs to up his game a little bit. I'm looking for something more along the lines of Wild Thoughts.
~ Our good debut this week comes from returning artists Noah Cyrus and MAX. The song is called Team. Overall, I think it's a nice song. The lyrics are good and I like the use of the guitar. MAX sounds good like he usually does. Noah Cyrus still sounds a little flat, but her vocals here are more tolerable than they were on her previous solo singles. I feel like MAX is the one who kind of saves the song. But either way, the song is enjoyable and it puts me in a good mood. So I would like to see this debut soon.
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Weezer – Africa
2. Dan + Shay – Tequila
3. Bebe Rexha – I'm A Mess
4. Justin Timberlake – SoulMate
5. Noah Cyrus/MAX – Team
Blurbs On You
~ Marshmello/Anne-Marie – Friends is back up in the Top 5 for some reason. This annoying friend-zone anthem only gets worse with each listen. I'm not sure why this is still so popular, but this just has to end. Seriously.
~ Three entries in the Top 10, Girls Like You and I Wanna Know are back and I'm indifferent on both still. The only exciting entrant is Don't Go Breaking My Heart. I'm glad to see this one doing well here. Backstreet Boys deserve it. They're still very talented.
~ Dua Lipa – IDGAF finally dropped a little bit and One Kiss took its place. So things are starting to look a little bit better around here. Hopefully both songs continue on the path they're currently on.
~ As expected MNEK/Hailee Steinfeld – Colour took quite a drop. I just could not see this one as a hit. It's not a bad song. But it's just not memorable in my opinion.
~ Walk The Moon – One Foot is still here fortunately. I still think this song is amazing, so hopefully it can keep it up for another while. I would love to see this song hang around for another couple months or so. We'll see what happens.
~ As far as the exits go, Too Good leaving was expected. It was a good song, but I didn't care too much for it. Good riddance to Rich on the other hand. This was a poor excuse for country music. I like Maren Morris on songs like My Church and 80s Mercedes. But Rich is not good and it's a shame that that was her only solo single to ever play on Hits 1.
~ I just noticed this, but no one corrected me on my Top 20 Review last week. I accidentally ranked On The Loose even though it was #23 and I missed Back To You. My fault obviously, but no one pointed it out. :P

Weirdly, Somebody is still on the poll, but Side Effects isn't
Lmao at Nice For What not doing anything. Hits 1 should actually do something meanful when updating the poll instead of dping predictable shit.
DeleteUmm... Nice for What was never on the voting poll.
DeleteAnd Havana was already off the voting poll and Jump was never on the voting poll before.
DeleteYou're wrong Chase...all 3 of those songs were on there as of a couple days ago
DeleteOops, sorry
DeleteWhat this new post is 🤔
ReplyDeleteAlso, glad that new Backstreet Boys song is still in your top 5. I guess it’s my second favorite new song at the moment.

So the SXM website says Venus is back but DSR doesn’t agree with that. Interesting.

DeleteBut please nothing with Lil Yachty.
I love Lil Yachty.
DeleteThat’s kinda sad given that the man has no talent.
DeleteNo, I am happy that Lil Yachty is an awesome rapper.
DeleteI checked out your #1 recommendation and it's a really good song. I haven't heard Cody Simpson since On My Mind and Pretty Brown Eyes. His sound has definitely evolved a lot since those songs.
ReplyDeleteVoting Poll has been updated again!

I want Pretender to be on Hits 1.
Delete@Chase I don’t.
Delete@Chase: I do :)
DeleteYESSSSS
DeleteFinally "Almost Love" is available for voting.
Well Waffle, I'm about to change my profile pic again.
DeleteHere it is!!!
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteChase. I don't fucking care about your profile pic. Actually I don't think anyone does. Also you sometimes keep telling me to keep all of my thoughts in one comment. Look at you. 3 fucking comments in a row about something people don't even care about. If you could stop now and just be part of the community normally just like everyone else, we might actually like you.
DeleteWaffle, my mistake is I love you.
DeleteWhy is that so funny
DeleteI wasn't laughing. I was starting to like Waffle.
DeleteAccording to the poll, these are the 5 oldest songs on Hits 1 (not just the countdown):
ReplyDeleteI LIKE ME BETTER - LAUV
MEANT TO BE - BEBE REXHA/FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE
WHATEVER IT TAKES - IMAGINE DRAGONS
ONE FOOT - WALK THE MOON
NEVER BE THE SAME - CAMILA CABELLO
Lol I thought they were the ones off the poll.
DeleteSongs currently on the countdown with 25+ weeks:
DeleteLauv - I Like Me Better (39 Weeks)
Bebe Rexha/Florida Georgia Line - Meant To Be (39 Weeks)
Walk The Moon - One Foot (33 Weeks)
The Weeknd/Kendrick Lamar - Pray For Me (33 Weeks)
Maroon 5 - Wait (29 Weeks)
Camila Cabello - Never Be The Same (28 Weeks)
Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey - The Middle (27 Weeks)
One Foot and Pray For Me did not debut on the same week.
DeleteYou are correct. Pray For Me is only at 25 weeks
DeleteWhy?
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletePretty sure it’s not there
DeleteIt's not there
DeleteChase please stop saying yep that your favourite songs are on Hits1 when they’re not
Delete^ How and why did I type yep there. Didn’t mean to do that.
DeleteOkay.
DeleteI’m so excited for Comic-Con this year!
ReplyDelete#1 Recommendation for Hits 1: The Chainsmokers/Emily Warren - Don't Say
ReplyDeleteI doubt we’re getting any more songs from that album at this point.
DeleteLmao although there is one or two more songs from that album that could've and should've been used.
DeleteI think this might be The Chainsmokers' final single from "Memories... Do Not Open."
DeleteSo I don't think I'm gonna get the Hits 1 post out mainly due to me wanting to do other stuff instead. I really want to do these and get them out:
ReplyDelete- Billboard Blurbdown Post
- Catchup Post on my Personal Charts
- My rankdown
However I hope that I can do it next week instead.

ReplyDeleteI just changed my profile pic.
ReplyDeleteNew Music Alert:
ReplyDeleteTwenty One Pilots - Levitate
I love it.
DeleteSo I'm A Mess, Tequila, and Go Bang all have multiple spins today. My guess is they will all leave Hitbound this week to make room for the new songs on the voting poll and most likely debut on the countdown next week.
ReplyDeleteTequila and Go Bang need to not debut. Tequila is lame and Go Bang is annoying. But I’m all for I’m A Mess.
DeleteI'm A Mess needs to go away. Not here for that melodramatic mess of a "pop-country" song.
DeleteGo Bang however, is fucking fantastic thank you very much.
It’s going to join Side Effects to debut.
DeleteI could see those three debuting next week. I'm happy with I'm A Mess, fine with Tequila, and I still don't care about Go Bang. Side Effects is for sure debuting this week though
DeleteTequila is debuting the countdown this week.
DeleteI’m in New York City right now. Also, my predictions for the Wildcard are Daniel Emmet and Blue Tokyo. Human Fountains was already chosen as a wildcard.

DeleteWAMB10: So, are you choosing a lot of people, that's why.
DeleteParker: That's not appropriate. You don't do that on the computer.
@Chase Are you his mom or what? And how is that inappropriate? Lol
DeleteChase can’t be a mom because he’s a boy.
DeleteChase: It might be a little inappropriate, but it's definitely more appropriate than your behavior on the blogs and trolling us with these weird responses a lot of times. So you should consider stopping before telling me to do so.
DeleteI'm not a mom, I'm his friend.

To go along with my ranking of the Hot 100 #1s, I might do a Rankdown of those songs if there's enough interest. Would anyone be interested in participating if I were to do this?
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteHere's the link for the rankdown for anyone who's interested:
Deletehttps://nickscountdownblog.blogspot.com/p/billboard-hot-100-1s-rankdown.html
No.
DeleteI'm gonna be blunt and say that I am not up to doing Billboard blogs anymore. It just gets tiring and frustratingly boring having to do it week after week, and I just don't feel excited doing it anymore. I'd say I'm either done with it, or just going on hiatus. I'd also recommend .'s Discord server, because it'd be much better than this blog like setting tbh.
ReplyDeletehttps://discord.gg/HXeDg6
I second the Discord server recommendation, as it's a much faster and more convenient way to chat with others here. We have 8 people so far (including myself), and I'd like to see more in the future.

DeleteOops, I would rank it in the bottom half
ReplyDeleteDylan, I'm sorry.
DeleteSo at like 30?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteChase stop you're not even in this conversation.
DeleteAnd how could you possibly love Perfect when it's boring and overplayed, yet Delicate isn't either of those two and you hate it.

ReplyDeleteBruh 😂😂😂
DeleteWhy are they even playing Shawn Mendes live onstage on the radio anyway?? And why Shawn Mendes in the first place?
DeleteTrue it's not like the Live version of In My Blood is being sent to radio lol.
DeleteFalse, In My Blood is overplayed and is so darn annoying.
DeleteYou're annoying Chase, no one likes you.
DeleteNo I'm not. I'm nice.
DeleteNicki Minaj's Queen is out. I'm about half way through and I'm not that impressed so far
ReplyDeleteI hate Nicki Minaj.

ReplyDeleteTell Me You Love Me
So Side Effects will probably debut now, and I'm A Mess, Go Bang and Tequila will debut next week
Dead at Jumpsuit flopping on here. It's at #44. Idk why this is doing bad here.
ReplyDeleteI’m listening to Jumpsuit RN.
DeleteTbh I'm a bit thrown off by that as well. I thought Hits1 really loved TOP. Even Heavydirtysoul wasn't that popular elsewhere and yet it peaked just outside the Top 10 if I remember correctly.
DeleteYeah that sucks! Jumpsuit is great.
Delete45. Familiar (=)
ReplyDelete44. Jumpsuit (-11)
43. Mine (=)
42. Babe (+2)
41. Done For Me (-3)
40. Alone (-13) (biggest drop)
ReplyDelete39. In My Feelings (-2) (I'm not surprised but...)
38. The Chainsmokers/Emily Warren - Side Effects (debut)
37. Walk The Moon - One Foot (+3)
36. Camila Cabello - Never Be The Same (=)
I Like Me Better is up at least 6. This is a problem
I don't understand at all how In My Feelings is dropping. I know it's urban, but it's a really strong Hot 100 #1, plus it's almost Top 10 on Pop already, plus the Kiki challenge (which is dangerous, so don't do it) is popular.
DeleteI guess Hits 1 doesn't actually care about how popular songs are
Delete35. 5 Seconds of Summer - Want You Back (=)
ReplyDelete34. Meghan Trainor - Let You Be Right (-9)
33. The Wrecks - James Dean (-3)
32. Dua Lipa - IDGAF (-11)
31. Lauv - I Like Me Better (+10) (how is this even okay????)
30. Madison Beer - Home With You (-1)
ReplyDelete29. lovelytheband - broken (-1)
28. U2/Cheat Codes - LIBTAIIW (+6)

ReplyDelete24. Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry (-10) :(
23. PRETTYMUCH - Summer On You (+8)
22. Alessia Cara - Growing Pains (+1)
21. Bebe Rexha/Florida Georiga Line - Meant To Be (+3)
This week is just like 08/22/15 and 03/11/17, a horrible 1 exit week.
DeleteWhy is Pray For Me still jumping lol
Delete20. Post Malone - Better Now (-5)
ReplyDelete19. Niall Horan - On The Loose (+3)
18. Cardi B - I Like It (+1)
17. Imagine Dragons - Natural (+3)
16. Khalid/Normani - Love Lies (+1)
The drop by Better Now is unacceptable

13. Foster The People - Sit Next To Me (-3)
