New Entrants
~ This week, we have the return of All Time Low as they debut with Good Times. I personally thought Dirty Laundry was a better song. This one's good too, but it's not something that's gonna stick with me. It's pretty close to being in blue right now. Maybe it'll grow on me with more listens. But for now, there isn't that much to it that really stands out.
~ We also have the return of Fall Out Boy with Champion. This is a MASSIVE step up from Young and Menace, which thankfully flopped. That was a mess. Champion was produced a lot better, has great vocals, and has great instrumentals. This feels a little bit more like the old Fall Out Boy that everyone loved and wants again. I think they're going in a good direction if they keep making songs like this one. I'm sure it'll do well here.
~ I'm quite impressed with how quickly Hits 1 picked up on Wild Thoughts. I think this is a reasonable step up from I'm The One. I'm The One had this very weird sound to it and no one sounded good except for Bieber, who actually only sounded okay. Wild Thoughts grabbed my attention right from the start. DJ Khaled really stepped up his game with the production. I love the sampling with the guitar from Santana's Maria Maria. I think it fits well with the rest of song. Rihanna's vocals shine bright like a diamond (see what I did there?) and I think Bryson Tiller has a really solid verse. I think he has a really good voice. All in all, it's a really good song and I hope it does well. It's a lot better than I'm The One, so hopefully it can do better than that song performance-wise.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:
- Bebe Rexha – The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody) (DEBUT)
- The All-American Rejects – Sweat (DEBUT)
- Andy Grammer – Give Love
- The Chainsmokers – Honest
- Paramore – Hard Times
- Kesha – Praying
- Louis Tomlinson/Bebe Rexha/Digital Farm Animals – Back To You (DEBUT)
- Julia Michaels – Uh Huh
- Harry Styles – Two Ghosts (DEBUT)
- Shawn Hook/Vanessa Hudgens – Reminding Me
- Macklemore/Skylar Grey – Glorious
- Imagine Dragons – Thunder
- Demi Lovato – Sorry Not Sorry
- Ed Sheeran – Galway Girl
~ I'll talk about most of the entrants some other time. The only one I'll talk about now is Sweat. I consider myself a fan of The All-American Rejects. They've had a ton of good songs, mainly from their album Move Along. Sweat is a lot different from what they've done before. But it's still something I can get into. I'll admit that it wasn't that great when I first listened to it earlier this month when it was released. But after a few more listens, I've come to realize that it is a good song. The All-American Rejects have done well yet again.
~ I'm sure everyone wants to know why I dislike Sorry Not Sorry. This sound is just not for her. I don't think it fits with her voice at all. The worst part of the song is easily the chorus. She sounds very pitchy and the background voices that say "I'm not sorry" sound awful. And you'd think with that build-up that the chorus would have a little more to offer. Instead it feels very similar to This Is What You Came For, where the build-up is decent, but the drop (in this case the chorus) is just very underwhelming production-wise. The verses are okay, but not something that grabs my attention. Overall, this is not at all what I was expecting from Demi Lovato. She has done MUCH better, especially with Demi, which had some very enjoyable singles. But Sorry Not Sorry is not a good lead single in my opinion. And it's too bad because I really like her. This is probably the first song from her I've legitimately disliked. Oh well. Maybe her next single will be better.
~ It took a while, but I've finally grown into Imagine Dragons – Thunder. I still don't like the little annoying voice that constantly says thunder. But every part of the song isn't that bad. However, it's still nothing compared to the singles off of Night Visions.
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Kesha – Praying
2. Shawn Hook/Vanessa Hudgens – Reminding Me
3. Louis Tomlinson/Bebe Rexha/Digital Farm Animals – Back To You
4. Ed Sheeran – Galway Girl
5. The All-American Rejects – Sweat
Wild Blurbs
~ For some reason, AJR – Weak is back in the Top 20. I'm honestly just really tired of this song. It's not good at all and the fact that it's still here is pretty annoying. Please drop soon.
~ While Weak is back in the Top 20, Despacito has dropped out of the Top 20 for some strange reason. This song is the biggest song in the country right now, so I'm not exactly sure why it's not getting treated like that. This should be in the Top 5 right now, not outside of the Top 20.
~ I'm also baffled by the jump to #25 from Redbone. I don't see the appeal and this just isn't the type of song I would expect to hear on Hits 1. But the fact that this is popular at all is already mind-blowing.
~ And of course, Malibu just HAD to drop all the way out of the Top 30. Why? Just why? This is actually a really good song and it still does poorly. I don't get it. Hopefully it can hold out a little while longer.
~ Crying In The Club has dropped out of the Top 30. Hopefully it can stay here and leave soon. It's not good enough to be a hit. Try again, Camila.
~ Due to the debut of Wild Thoughts, I'm The One took quite the drop into the Bottom 5. Although this is one of the biggest songs right now, I really don't care if it leaves. It's not that great of a song. I don't know how, but it actually kind of got worse after listening to Wild Thoughts, which is a big step down. It just shows the mediocre side of DJ Khaled.
~ And of course, Don't Wanna Know is still here. Cold is the better song by just a little bit. And for some reason, that one left first. I was hoping I'd never get annoyed with a Maroon 5 song again after Sugar, and now here we are. Do us all a favor and just leave.
~ With our other exits, This Town and Bad Things both got old and it's about time they left.

I think we should be starting to agree with this comment now:
ReplyDeleteMiles Washcalus February 26, 2017 at 6:49 AM
"The Chainsmokers/Coldplay – Something Just Like This is absolutely fantastic. More words when it debuts on the countdown"
Let me guess, your going to have it be your new favorite song on the Countdown, and it'll be way too obvious what your #1 of 2017 is. Seriously, after Hey Mama and Hymn For The Weekend, your making it too easy and too obvious what your #1's are.
Btw the entire comment is both paragraphs.
DeleteWell then again I've had both Green Light, Sign Of The Times & Praying in purple during much, if not their entire tenure on the Hot 100.
DeleteMy #1 song for 2017 will be TNHMB but that might change we have to wait and see until December
DeleteIf I was doing posts right now, I'd have the same two purple songs as him. Stinks that they cut Big Sean and the second chorus out of Feels though.
DeleteGreat, now Feels needs to hit the Top 10 (and #1 as well!!!)
DeleteAdrian, this is Hits 1, they underrate the big songs almost all the time. So it's no wonder that Despacito dropped.
ReplyDeleteAlso, please check out my top 10 bets songs of 2016 post, I really tried to do a best list and make it as good as the worst list.
That's what happened last year in 2016 when one of the biggest songs was one dance and they underrated that song when it was big in the country
DeleteLol Adrian me and you are the only ones who still enjoy Play That Song. 😂😂😂
ReplyDeleteI am also hit hard on the Redbone jump. That is still legitimate trash that shouldn't even been a song.
Did you hear this week that It Ain't Me dropped to #22? Sorry 'bout that. :(
Believer is #1 this week.
WHY DID BAD LIAR JUMP TO #15 THIS WEEK?!
I think Adrian should be mad about all of those.
DeleteI miss fireball so much too I heard this song while watching the emoji movie this Saturday and they played fireball Most missed song: Pitbull/John Ryan: Fireball
ReplyDeleteMaybe Adrian saw that movie too...?
DeleteThat is the worst animated movie of the whole year, if not of the decade.
DeleteI actually did not see that movie, and I'm not planning on it.
DeleteMe neither.
DeleteIt got beat in the box office by the movie Dunkirk. Honestly, I'd rather sit through a WWII real-life story, than some shitty animated movie targeted at kids, with nothing good to come from it. It's nothing more than a rip-off of Wreck-It Ralph.
Delete^
DeleteStop, Gelography.

DeleteGreat post as always!
ReplyDeleteHey, guys. I've got some really, really, REALLY bad news that you don't want to hear. Brace yourselves...
ReplyDeleteJulia Michaels - Uh Huh got 3 spins so far today, according to DSR. So it looks like it's going to debut this weekend, unfortunately.
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
DeleteThat song having some spins this week is ridiculous!
DeleteYour comments are getting ridiculous. Why must you comment like this, it's fucking annoying?
DeleteMe or ATR?
DeleteATR.
DeleteIt looks like I'm the next Chase.
DeleteATR, c'mon you're being silly.
DeleteWild Thoughts should hit #1 on Billboard Hot 100 this week.
ReplyDeleteOr Unforgettable.
DeleteDon't worry, we all feel the same way.
DeleteTo sleep, Chase. We feel the same way.
DeleteSo, as if Uh Huh debuting isn't bad enough, neither Starving or Don't Wanna Know will be leaving this week. I heard the former yesterday and the latter as we were heading home. Jesus fucking Christ.
ReplyDeleteEven more bad news (worse news actually), we still have the atrocious Play That Song still getting so much airplay.
DeleteEven more bad news (even more worse), That's What I Like is not leaving the countdown this week.
DeleteThat's good news you idiot, the longer TWIL stays the better.
Delete^ Adrian begs to differ. :P
DeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
DeleteStop with this annoying spamming!
DeleteNo, you say fine, but then your just gonna do it later on, or in the next post. Do you honestly mistake me for a fool? Stop doing it period and leave! Your obviously annoying us when Adrian has to delete your comment and when . has to call you out on it as well.
DeleteWhen did I call out ATR? I was telling Montavis not to include so many spaces in his comment.
DeleteDidn't you tell him to stop with these type of comments where he overly reacts in the most dramatic and worst way possible?
DeleteEverybody calm down. I've been thinking a lot about you. I love you guys. Now let's talk about music life, not nasty stuff.
DeleteNO! Are you so blind and stupid you can't see the truth. The reason why we argue is because of you, and ATR! So don't you fucking dare try to say calm down, until both of you just leave!
DeleteOh yeah I remember that.
DeleteMiles, calm down already.

Delete#1 Recommendation for Hits 1: Alice Merton - No Roots
DeleteBut A$AP Rocky, Quavo and Frank Ocean have all been on Hits 1. If they made with their own songs, a song with all three of them can.
DeleteNo they can't. The only reason they've been on Hits 1, is because they collaborated with pop artists like Selena Gomez, Calvin Harris & Justin Bieber. A song with three rap artists has no chance of making Hits 1, so get the fuck over it, and deal with it!
DeleteMiles, calm down.
DeleteHE DOESN'T HAVE TO "CALM" DOWN!!!!!
DeleteWorst rapper alive? Who do you guys think
ReplyDeleteBecause it's definitely lil pump
DeletePretty much anyone with "Lil" in their name.
DeleteLmao
DeleteLil Yatchy. Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, I can't think of any others right now.
DeleteAlso, there may not be a BBH100 post this week, because there is a "technical error" with on of the data providers. It's based almost entirely on the Billboard 200 albums charts, with Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator and Meek Mill in a much heated battle for #1. And the big argument is Meek Mill released his album on TIDAL, but in front of the pay-wall. So there is now an argument over whether Billboard should count the streams or not.

Chase, you do not have to be the center of every fucking conversation, so stop commenting on every fucking comment! It's annoying, stupid and repetitive, so stop fucking doing it!
ReplyDeleteSo, while we're waiting on Miles and/or Graham for their Hot 100 posts, I guess I'll say right now: this will be Closer's final week. Next week, it'll depart, unless it makes some out of nowhere rebound (like Uptown Funk did the very week the 52/25 rule was introduced).
ReplyDeleteAnd while I'm sure some of you are still over the top sick of it (cough Graham cough), I know some will be very sad to see it depart after the obscene run it's had (cough Jack cough). Me, it was a grower, and while I still wouldn't pay money to listen to it whenever, I just can't bring myself to hate it after everything.
Ahem, you mean my #1 song of last year is gonna leave next week as well.
DeleteNo, I want it to last a year.
DeleteI'm so happy In The End and Numb are back. :) And mine could not be out till Friday, but still maybe tomorrow.
DeleteATR: This is on the Hot 100, and it will last a year there.
DeleteIt's already on it's 52nd week, it'll be gone next week anyway.
DeleteNo, it's on its 50th week on the countdown.

DeleteNo, not until you leave this blog and never come back!!! Why can't you and Chase get that through your thick heads, we don't like you!!
DeleteI'm not leaving.
DeleteWhy not, why can't you realize no on like you, everyone hates how you keep on commenting!
Delete#1 Recommendation for Hits 1: French Montana/Swae Lee - Unforgettable
ReplyDelete^^^^^
DeleteDrop it, ATR. Rap NEVER makes Hits 1. Have you even listened to this station?
DeleteDon't Mind is rap and it made Hits 1. It even cracked the top 20!
DeletePlus, Unforgettable is more pop than rap.
DeleteYeah, good point Parker, but ., Unforgettable has French Montana and Swae Lee and Hits 1 doesn't really like either of them.
DeleteI think the only exceptions Hits 1 makes is when they are actually serviced to pop radio, HUMBLE made it on pop radio, and yet that wasn't on here. This is mostly a pop station, so only if they get played on pop stations will they allow rap, like Eminem and Macklemore. But the songs that YOU Parker keep recommending are not even radio friendly, so that's why it'll never be on Hits 1.
DeleteYeah, Eminem and Macklemore are the main rap artists on this station...
DeleteHey, fellers! My new post is out!

ReplyDeleteBBH100 is out.
Also, I heard that some of the old Linkin Park songs have re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
ReplyDeleteNo shit captain obvious.
DeleteMaybe it's because of Chester Bennington's death a couple of Tuesdays ago.
DeleteNo really, I didn't know that, if it wasn't for the fact that of course it fucking did because of that!!! the songs were getting a lot of streams and sales gains because of it, are you fucking kidding me?!?! Why must you be such a fucking idiot, with the spamming and blatantly obvious, like we're fucking kids!!!! You and Chase need to do us a favor and fucking GO AWAY!!!
DeleteThere's no him and Chase. Because I do think this guy is Chase.
DeleteI'm not Chase.
Deletehttps://tinyurl.com/yc5r332b
DeleteThen prove to me your not Chase then.
DeleteI'll prove to you that I'm not Chase.
DeleteThen prove it.
Deletehttps://tinyurl.com/y98yoflh
DeleteOk. I'll prove it.
DeleteI'll prove to you that I will never spam. I'm done spamming.
DeleteAnd then in Adrian's next post he spams stupid shit.
DeleteHits 1's voting list has been updated on their website. Here are the songs available to vote:
ReplyDeleteRita Ora - Your Song
The Revivalists - Wish I Knew You
Also, songs unavailable to vote: (gap for spoliers)
Miley Cyrus - Malibu
Uh oh!

DeleteI can't believe some of the old Linkin Park songs have re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
ReplyDeleteAnd here we go again…
DeleteIt's not a surprise.
DeleteBut what about Chester Bennington's tombstone? Is it already at his funeral?
ReplyDeleteNo.
DeleteAll of us don't know when his tombstone is going to be at the funeral.
DeleteWould you please shut up! You said you were going to stop spamming the comments, then stop fucking doing it, or just don't comment at all!
DeleteOops. I didn't mean to do that.
DeleteUh Huh played about 20 times this week. Help us.
ReplyDeleteI don't want Uh Huh to debut the countdown!
DeleteI don't want you to keep on commenting, so I guess we both aren't gonna get our wish then.
DeleteOH GOD, NO! DON'T YOU DARE LET UH HUH TO DEBUT THE COUNTDOWN! NO! NO! NO! NO!
DeleteNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DeleteUH HUH IS GARBAGE!!!
DeleteThat doesn't answer my question.
Deletehttp://pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/168728/pulse-rankdown-coldplay-deadline-august
ReplyDeleteYou know Adrian, I would have thought you would have joined Pulse just for this moment, to rank over 30 Coldplay songs.
1. If it takes him over a week to get these posts out, there's no way he'll have time to do that.
Delete2. He'd have to have a Pulse account, which normally takes a few days to get approved.
Yeah, but considering how long it does take, and the situation here right now, I would love to see him on Pulse, if not a little more often. You don't see him very much on here anymore.
DeleteI agree with Miles.

Why do you want The Cure to have the biggest Drop of the week? It's such an awesome song.
DeleteFirst, it is the 82nd most played song on pop radio stations in the country in the past week. Second, it's fading on me. It's not overplay, just fading.
DeleteWhy would Uh Huh leave HitBound when it played like 30 times?
DeleteFor ATR, I would be so happy if Redbone left next week (it won't though D:)
DeleteMiles I thought you didn't like One More Light or Mi Gente.

DeleteI want Gangnam Style back at #1 plz.

DeleteUm what is this?
DeleteThe guy's name is A Troll That Is Here To Being Fun. I guess it's fun trolling then.
DeleteWas that Chase?
DeleteIt was you since you weren't in the randomizer.
DeleteUh oh, .! You and Chase are not gonna have fun..
DeleteWhy, because you're Chase and you're gonna give him so much shit? Admit it.
DeleteOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
DeleteYou know what? Mikey and Anshul are missing.
DeleteAnd you know who else is missing?
DeleteI'll tell you. It's Durp, Triff, Trance, Remy, Thatchos, CountdownRecap, Zack, and many more.
DeleteHopefully Durp, Mikey, Triff, Anshul, Trance, Remy, Thatchos, CountdownRecap, Zack and many more are back here soon.
DeleteBye. Just bye. MEET ME AT MY BLOG IF YOU NEED ME!
DeleteI'm with Anshul.
DeleteYou know what? Anshul's missing.
DeleteI'm done with Pulse.
ReplyDeleteHey Miles, your teammate is going to be Adrian.
DeleteSo many Canadian artists are underrated, even if they produce awesome songs.
ReplyDeleteWho was that commenting?
DeleteScrew it, I'm done with here more than Pulse. The only thing that would make either better is Adrian being more active.
ReplyDeleteHey Leah, your teammate is going to be Montavis.
ReplyDeleteATR:

DeleteAm I the only one who fears that Adrian could end this blog the same way CountdownRecap ended his run? If he just outright stops blogging on here, I would love for him to transfer his love for music to Pulse though. I mean, me, Graham, Parker, ., and Scott are already on Pulse, and I think he would love to meet new people online and interact with them as well.
