New Entrants
~ First up, we have Charli XCX making a "long-awaited" return with After The Afterparty. Honestly, I still have not fully grown back into Boom Clap. That's how sick of that song I was. I feel like After The Afterparty is trying way too hard to be an infectious and catchy song. Sure, it can be catchy at times. But it can also be pretty annoying at times. I do not like her voice very much. As of right now, I'm pretty split on this song. I cannot see myself growing into this and I can predict right now that I will be putting this song in red very soon.
~ Next, James Arthur makes his debut with Say You Won't Let Go. I feel as though this guy is a lot like James Bay. Same style of music, same kind of voice. Say You Won't Let Go is a unique song. Like Let It Go by James Bay, it may not be particularly interesting at first listen. But with time, this song gets better. After all the raging pop music we have here, it's nice to have calm song like this every now and then. Overall, I'm really enjoying this song and I hope it does well.
~ Also making a return, John Legend returns with Love Me Now. I did not exactly find this song interesting at first few listens. But with time and more listens, it has grown on me a decent amount. It managed to barely cross the border into green for this week. That being said, it can easily change back to blue very soon. But I do like the message to this song and I love the lyrical content. It's nice to have a song that emits love after the painful year we've had that is 2016.
~ With the highest debut of the week, Lady Gaga debuts with the second single off of Joanne. It is called Million Reasons. First off, MUCH better than the messy flop that went by the name of Perfect Illusion. I did question the fact that this is a slow ballad since we're not exactly used to those done by Lady Gaga. But she worked with it and handled it really well. She still has that amazing voice I knew she had and I love the lyrical content. Me personally, this is my favorite debut this week and I wish it well on this countdown.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:
- Fitz & The Tantrums – HandClap
- Little Mix – Shout Out To My Ex (DEBUT)
- Captain Cuts – Love Like We Used To
- Rihanna – Love On The Brain
- Machine Gun Kelly/Camila Cabello – Bad Things
- Shawn Mendes – Mercy
- Dua Lipa – Blow Your Mind (Mwah)
- Calum Scott – Dancing On My Own
- Lukas Graham – You're Not There
- Maty Noyes – In My Mind (DEBUT)
- Zayn/Taylor Swift – I Don't Wanna Live Forever (DEBUT)
- Gavin DeGraw – She Sets The City On Fire
- Hey Violet – Guys My Age (DEBUT)
- Daya – Words
~ Guys My Age is a little too weird for my liking. I would like I Don't Wanna Live Forever a little bit more if we didn't get that falsetto from Zayn. I really don't think he sounds that good. But I like Taylor Swift's part. Hopefully, these songs will be growers, especially the latter considering that this song isn't going anywhere for the next several months.
~ I do find Shout Out To My Ex and In My Mind both to be pretty catchy. I am enjoying them and hopefully, they both get a chance to be on the Weekend Countdown.
~ Why Love On The Brain even exists is beyond me. I genuinely hate this song. I'm ready to say that it's worse than Work. Please leave Hit-Bound soon and do NOT debut on the countdown.
Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Shawn Mendes – Mercy
2. Gavin DeGraw – She Sets The City On Fire
3. Machine Gun Kelly/Camila Cabello – Bad Things
4. Fitz & The Tantrums – HandClap
5. Little Mix – Shout Out To My Ex
Million Blurbs
~ I really don't appreciate Hailee Steinfeld & Grey/Zedd – Starving being at #2. While I do like this song, I really don't think it's #1 worthy. That would just be overrating it big time, even though it's already being ranked way too high at #2.
~ Alessia Cara – Scars To Your Beautiful made a pretty sudden jump into the Top 5 this week and I'm very happy about that. I still believe that this is her best single so far and thankfully, Hits 1 feels the same way. Everyone know that in the words of Alessia Cara, "You are beautiful just the way you are." :)
~ Also in the Top 5, we have Niall Horan – This Town. While I am getting pretty bored of this song, it is still a sweet song like Scars To Your Beautiful. Obviously like Zayn Malik – Pillowtalk, This Town will probably be hangin' around in the Top 5 for a long time. So be prepared for that.
~ As far as our Top 20 entrants go, Greenlight and All Time Low made nice jumps back in. But we also have Train – Play That Song jumping to #14 this week. This song is actually pretty high on the iTunes Top Songs chart and I'm pretty impressed. Maybe this song will be the next big hit for Train. We will see.
~ DJ Snake/Justin Bieber – Let Me Love You made a very uncalled for drop out of not only the Top 5, but the Top 10 as well all the way down to #19. Very uncalled for, very unnecessary, and I am not happy about that.
~ DNCE – Body Moves continues to drop as it has down fallen to #37. I thought that this could possibly be the next Cake By The Ocean. I really thought it had the potential. I guess I was wrong. Oh well.
~ With the exits, I'm very pleased to see Dangerous Woman and Perfect Illusion made their departures. Bacon was well overdue as well for a song that really didn't make it big. The only one that kind of made me a little sad was We Don't Talk Anymore. But that song was here for a really long time and I'm glad. I definitely enjoyed this song quite a bit. And of course this is the first week in I don't know how long that we have not had a song by Selena Gomez on the countdown. Quite an impressive run, Selena. Well done.
~ Billboard did release their official Hot 100 of 2016 this past week. I'm going to try my very hardest to do a review for it. I wanted to do one last year, but I just never got around to it. I'm hoping that this year will be different.
~ I'd like to make the announcement that this week, December 10, 2016, is the official cut-off week for songs to make my Top 45 Songs of 2016. What this means is that all of this week's debuts (Say You Won't Let Go, Million Reasons, Love Me Now, and After The Afterparty) are the final songs eligible to appear on my year-end countdown. No more debuts this year will be eligible for 2016. I will now begin preparing the list and hopefully I'll have it for you guys by the time Christmas comes around.
~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is currently being worked on and I will try to get that out to you guys as soon as possible.

Nice post! And also, there's a new music alert: Steve Aoki/Louis Tomlinson - Just Hold On
ReplyDeleteTwo other things:
Delete1. Yay for HFTW not in purple!
2. Why do you like Fade? It seems like a song you wouldn't like.
1. Just for that, I should put it back in purple next week. :)
Delete2. I answered that in my most recent Hit 45 Chart post. But I said that I really like the beat and Kanye West actually doesn't sound bad.
1. :| And I did grow into it in July, if you didn't already know.
Delete2. Oh alright. Didn't see that.
And I just listened to Just Hold On and I really like it. :)
DeleteNice post! Are your 4 end of the year posts:
ReplyDelete1. The year in review
2. The Hits 1 Top 45
3. Your top 45 songs of the year
4. The Billboard top 100 of the year
I was planning to do the fourth one a while ago, so I'm definitely going to do that. Do you mind (not DJ Khaled related) me doing the middle 2? Because I don't want you to feel like you are being copied.
Those are exactly the four posts I plan on doing. And yeah you can definitely do the middle two. Everyone that reviews the Hits 1 countdown should review the year-end countdown. And I also love reading your guys' Top Songs of the Year posts.
DeleteOkay thanks! Last year, I never got around to year end posts, and that was my first year actually blogging so I was kind of clueless. I didn't want to do the first, since it just seems like it would be too much copying. And for me time wise, 3 is enough.
Delete"Shawty, I don’t mind..." - Usher
DeleteI've been skiing all day, so I didn't know the #1 song until now. I'm shocked, and kind of annoyed. And now that LMLY is gone; I can't see any song on the countdown that's good hitting #1 for a while.
ReplyDeleteAdrian, can you give me a review on Andrew McMahon-Fire escape?
ReplyDelete^and Spencer Ludwig - Diggy?
Delete., you KNOW fire escape? Do you like it?
DeleteI don't know it, I was just adding on to the comment.
Delete^ means you agree with it, but can you review it?
DeleteSpoiler alert:
ReplyDeleteEverybody will be VERY happy about #15 dropping so many spots on the pulse.

I'm just guessing so this isn't accurate.

3: Ride
4: Unsteady
5: Sit still, look pretty
no wait, #5 is not SSLP because Fresh eyes is worse, so anyways, #5 is Send my love.
DeleteSteve Aoki new song is Good. Nowhere near as good as Back 2 U but still good.
ReplyDeleteSongs that I love but Hits One hasn't introduced yet:
ReplyDeleteHailee Steinfeld - You're Such A
Clean Bandit/AnneMarie/Sean Paul - Rockabye
AnneMarie - Alarm
Favorite songs on the countdown: Jon Bellion - All Time Low and Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj - Side To Side
Favorite Hit Bound Song: Shawn Mendes - Mercy
-FruitFarmer
You're Such A isn't going to make Hits 1 at this point. It's too bad since it was one of her better songs.

DeleteBillboard Hot 100 chart on my blog
ReplyDeleteNo offense, but I don't think Chase understands what a top 20 review is.
ReplyDeleteHis Billboard post is just the worst. About half of it is white, at least I actually listen to most of the song on there.
DeleteI think he copied it from Triff's blog too.
DeleteI did not copy from Triff's blog, I copied from my blog.
DeleteTriff's blog: "Lil Wayne/The Rest Of The Crew – Sucker For Pain (#42)"

ReplyDeleteYay!!!

DeleteYay!
DeleteAdrian, are you ever gonna review a Billboard Hot 100 chart?
ReplyDeleteI remember him doing one in 2014 once.
Delete., I think you might be right. Parker deleted his Instagram, so something is up.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Parker, and what the Hell happened to him?!
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteOh my. I think this might have to do with the Fam.
DeleteHe got probably POISNIED!!!!!!! Meahahhahahhahhahahah!
Delete.: What fam?
DeleteLeah:...
There's this club at his school called the Fam that Parker sits with at lunch, and he found out that all of their members didn't like him.
Delete.: For a minute I thought it involved his actual family or something like that.
DeleteLeah: Just stop commenting on these blogs, like for the rest of your life.
Don't listen to him Leah! He's insulted others too!
DeleteSeriously, everything she said is not funny, sheer randomness, stupid, annoying and obnoxious. And I'm pretty sure Daniel agrees as well. And why are you going after me, when Daniel has yelled at Leah, WAMB10, and Chase as well?
DeleteI think we should wait for her to realize that her comments are kind of weird and none about music. Plus, everyone besides you and Daniel likes her comments. And an adult trying to get a 12-year-old off a blog sounds weird.
DeleteOh yeah and how long should we wait then oh powerful wizard, 'til she's 21?
DeleteHopefully soon.
DeleteDoubt it.
Delete., Miles has INsulted others, like about 10 times every week, but only because of the Weird non-music comments that Leah gives, the Kinda music-related unnessacery crap that WAMB10 has, And worst of all, Chase's "Autism".
DeleteAlso,I'd give someone a million bucks if they can figure out why leah is so weird, which is impossible because she just wants to be weird, what does she live in, the Adopt-a-human center?
DeleteAnd leah has been the weirdest ever since Trump won the election...
DeleteNew poll on my blog.
DeleteNow it is fixed, i hate to delete and Re-edit.
DeleteWell... I have a feeling that the discorder is Chases favourite word.
DeleteI finally figured it out! Parker has told by his family that he can't be here or any social media ever again. BINGO!
DeleteI think I forgot to mention this weeks ago, but better late than never I suppose. I recently got a Spotify account, so I could use it, as opposed to using YouTube all the time.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about Guys My Age in the car going home and while I was changing the station on the FM radio, like 10 seconds later it literally came on. I was kinda shocked. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Hot 45 Chart is out!
ReplyDeleteSo after listening to the HandClap album... Wow, no wonder TheLPClub says they sold out, because the only good song is HandClap.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjeORm4LMDk
ReplyDeleteRemember when Hotline Bling was funny? I think I also grew into this song, because of this one video. Hold on, while I fix the year end chart because of Hotline Bling.
How weird is it that Donald Trump is in this video and 1 year later he's insulting the show? That man is strange...
DeleteAlso, I think I saw this when it first aired, and I don't usually watch that show.
I honestly don't care about what he has to say about SNL, because most of the time I don't watch the show either. I do like the show sometimes though.
DeleteI hate to say this two times a day, but please vote for round 3 of my Hot 100 song wars poll! I will close the voting tomorrow. Vote here: https://goo.gl/forms/yOK9MH8PIrOycuIV2
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of the Hot 100, I will announce the Hot 100 so far, once again.

Delete15. I didn't like this to begin with but now I do find it tolerable at least, as in it wouldn't be the end of the world if it came on.
14. Yeah, I know some didn't like this one.
13. Oh, you're gonna get some shit for that one :P
12. No surprise here...
11. ...or here.
10. Please don't tell me this one is here because of its countdown tenure x_x
9. No surprise here, either...
8. ...or here...
7. ...or here...
6. ...or here.
5. I do think this one's kinda cool, even if Adrian disagrees.
4. Having just watched TheDoubleAgent's video I can't say this is surprising.
3. Hits 1's obsession with Fall Out Boy I'm sure struck some nerves.
2. Not a surprise to see this here.
1. With its obscenely weird tenure, and some of the videos I've seen flacking it, it should not be a surprise to see this here.
Dishonorable mentions:
None of these are a surprise, except In The Night which I do like.
Me Too, Perfect, and Close don't deserve to be here but I do respect you're opinion.
DeleteWhat's wrong with #13?
DeleteWAMB10, you do understand that over half all worst of 2016 lists on YouTube or blogging are gonna have Me Too pretty darn high, right?
DeleteSay, Adrian, you may have seen ARTV Reviews' Best of 2016 list. If you haven't, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nZW72GCa4s
ReplyDelete(spoilers)
Ones I think you'll be happy to see: #17, 13, 12, 9, maybe 3, and there's his #1.
Picks you'll probably find disappointing: #16, 15, 11, probably 4 and 2
Parker is going to be pissed about #2.

"Also: next week should bring a shakeup in the Hot 100's upper reaches, as Zayn and Taylor Swift's new single, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," is expected to blast in with a lofty debut (on the Dec. 31-dated Hot 100), following its first week of tracking after its Dec. 9 release. The collab from the former One Direction member and Swift is from the forthcoming Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack. As previously reported, the track debuts at No. 25 on the Dec. 24 Pop Songs airplay chart following its first three days of tracking.
In other solo 1D news, the group's Louis Tomlinson should also debut with his new Steve Aoki team-up single "Just Hold On." Check Billboard.com this week for projections of how much both "Forever" and "Hold" could sell and stream, and how much airplay they might draw, in their first full week each of tracking." - Gary Trust, Billboard
Guys My Age debuted the Billboard Hot 100 this week at #40.
DeleteAnd Blow Your Mind (Mwah) re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 this week.
DeleteI doubt that. :?
DeleteBoth of those aren't true so far.

DeleteChase, where did you find Guys my age and Blow your mind(MWAH) entering the charts ?

Delete#1 has been really overplayed on the radio and that song is definitely making it onto my bottom 5 songs of 2016 (no matter what...). It used to be good but then overplay killed it.
DeleteWork From Home already sucks, if it weren't for those fucking breathing noises and how slowly they sing in the chorus is just plotting and degrading. And they had to steal the beat from fucking Daniel Bedingfield of all people, and without a credit no less.
DeleteAlso why is the text in all caps, its really irritating as well.
DeleteI heard IDWTLF twice today, and I've only been in the car 2 times for about a 20 minute total!
ReplyDeleteIt's been playing on Hits 1 a lot today.
DeleteWhat is that?
Delete*IDWLF
DeleteIt's I Don't Wanna Live Forever. It's okay, I got confused with Wanna and Want To also.
DeleteI have the worst headache right now. :(

DeleteWhy?
DeleteBillboard Hot 100 poll round 4 is out! Please vote here: https://goo.gl/forms/ABDrgfF5uCPrVY0m1
ReplyDeleteBoth of those will be unfair, i mean, Don't mind, VS I took a pill in ibiza?
DeleteYeah, sure, that's fair.
If you're being sarcastic, I'd pick the one you wouldn't think most people would.
DeleteWhey?
Delete*I did that on purpose so chase doesn't go *why.
DeleteWhey did you comment that you did it on purpose?
DeleteI answered that, also what do you guys think of my new Profile pic?
DeleteI'm going to see them in February.
COAEP is out! The reason for the delay should be at the bottom of the post.

Parker! What happened?
DeleteOh good, your back.
Deletehttp://mymusicreviewingblog.blogspot.com/2016/12/billboard-hot-100-year-end-2016-review.html
DeleteOh Parker, I finished my Billboard year end list a few days ago, and I was wondering if you wanted to check it out.
I was looking at a list of albums to be released in 2017 so far and I found this:
ReplyDeleteJacob Sartorius - The Last Text (to be released January 20)
Uh-oh, guys. I wonder what this will be like.
Let's all just ignore this kid, less attention we give him the better.
DeleteMore albums being released in Jan. 2017(()Parenthases mean release date):
DeleteThe xx-I see you
AFI-AFI
Kehlani-Sweetsexysavage
Train-A girl, a bottle, a boat
As you can see, not really anything we care about, and train probably won't affect the chart, like in 2014, which they barely did.
Sorry, i did not do the release date but the xx is releasing on the 13th, AFI on the 20th, and the others on the 27th, but here as some more albums:
DeleteFeb. 10th: Dua Lipa-Dua Lipa
Feb. 17th: Amy Macdonald-Under stars
The Orwells-Terrible human beings
Feb 24th: Little Big Town-The breaker
Released date TBA albums to be released in 2017, but still have the name of the album
ReplyDeleteFergie-Double dutchess
Iggy Azalea(o... kay...)-Digital distortion
Major Lazer-Music is the weapon
Brad Paisley-Love and war
John Mayer-The search for everything
Logic-AfricAryaN
Pitbull-Climate change
Wasn't Iggy supposed to release Digital Distortion earlier this year? So why the delay?!
Delete., why don't you have a profile pic?
ReplyDeleteI was trying to change it, but the new profile picture was too big.

ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay, of the billboard post for LAST WEEK, can't you believe it, but i'll try to get it out wednsday(or tommorow)
ReplyDeleteAlright guys I have to say this quickly because I'm technically not supposed to be on any device right now. I got a concussion in my last basketball game! I'm not aloud to be around screens until my headaches die down so dep depending on how quickly I get better, I might not be able to post this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I think I Don't Wanna Live Forever, Just Hold On, and Million Reasons will be the countdown entrants this week.
ReplyDelete3 things:
ReplyDelete1. Vote for round 4 of the Hot 100 poll here:
2. For Scott, Miles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYBzG3mk0YQ
3. Happy Birthday Taylor Swift! #27
Round 4: https://goo.gl/forms/V7QstM3mNXDDz2ym1
DeleteHappy birthday to her! I remembered the 13th as the day my social studies project was due, so I didn't even think out Taylor. How weird of a music fan like me.
DeleteAnd I'll vote on the poll.
Is it just me or does Chase's new profile picture look like a pair of eyes? It actually is two ducks though.
ReplyDeleteI'm at the roller skating rink right now and I put Don't Mind on the song request list. Hopefully they'll play it, and I'll be pissed if they don't.
ReplyDelete
