So my birthday is on Monday. I'm going to be 17 years old. Because this weekend is my birthday weekend, my family went out all day yesterday and we did some shopping for me, which is why I could not get this post out yesterday like I was hoping. But it's here now. Better late than never. Before we get to this week's Fresh 45, here are the songs we're saying goodbye to this week.

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Mike Posner – I Took A Pill In Ibiza (+21)
New Entrants
~ With the highest debut of the week, we have Never Forget You by Zara Larsson w/ MNEK. I do think this song is really catchy. The beat instantly gets me hooked in. I don't love it as much now as I did when I first started listening to it, but it's still really good.
~ Next up, we have returning artists Nick Jonas and Tove Lo with the lead single from the former's album, Last Year Was Complicated. It's called Close. Is this is best song? No. Jealous and Chains will most likely always be his best. I am enjoying this song. It is better than Levels. I think really the only thing to criticize about this song is Tove Lo's verse. Besides that, the song overall is really good.
~ Finally, we have P!nk with her comeback single after 2013's Just Give Me A Reason and True Love. This one is called Just Like Fire. Words cannot describe how awesome this song is. The verses aren't really much, but I was interested in where the song was going when I first listened to it. Then that catchy pre-chorus comes followed by the awesome chorus! I've always been a fan of P!nk and this song is no different. Easily the new best song on the countdown. What a comeback. I really hope it does well on this countdown.
Never Forget Blurbs
~ I would appreciate if we get Twenty One Pilots and DNCE out of the Top 2. We have four good songs behind them that would be better choices for these spots.
~ The drop to #15 from Selena Gomez – Hands To Myself was definitely needed after that scary jump to #3 last week. Thanks, Hits 1!
~ Mike Posner – I Took A Pill In Ibiza had a nice jump into the teens on its second week, something that Grace – You Don't Own Me is clearly incapable of.
~ Jet Black Heart from 5 Seconds Of Summer is in the Top 10. If I recall correctly, 5SOS haven't had a Top 10 hit since Amnesia, which was a long time ago. It's nice to see one of their better songs hitting the Top 10.
~ I kind of want Ellie Goulding – Something In The Way You Move to stay a little longer.
~ Gwen Stefani – Make Me Like You is clearly a more loved song by Hits 1 as it has peaked higher than Used To Love You.
~ I did grow into James Bay – Let It Go over the course of this past week. So I'm enjoying it a little bit.
~ The drops from One Direction – Perfect and Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible were very much needed. We needed a good swapping of old songs for the new songs.
~ Speaking of One Direction, History has hit a new peak at #11. This song has pretty much lost all popularity except on this chart. This song is getting a little boring in my opinion. I'm still hoping songs like Hey Angel can be released as singles in the future. But I can only hope for so much.
~ Panic! At The Disco – Victorious is losing its popularity as well and I'm getting pretty tired of it. I wouldn't mind watching it go down a little bit.
~ G-Eazy/Bebe Rexha – Me, Myself, & I is a Top 10 hit on almost every chart except here. It even hit #1 on American Top 40, something I wish could happen here.
~ This past Friday was the day in which Zedd re-released the title track from his album, True Colors, this time featuring vocals from Kesha as opposed to previously being Tim James. Honestly, as someone who has always been a fan of Kesha ever since she went by Ke$ha and released singles like TiK ToK and We R Who We R, I am really enjoying this new single. Her voice fits very nicely and the lyrical content describes her very nicely. I really hope we can see it on the countdown soon.
~ I guess you can say this countdown was overall okay for my birthday weekend. Here's what I wanted the Top 10 to look like (thinking realistically):
10. DNCE – Cake By The Ocean
9. G-Eazy/Bebe Rexha – Me, Myself, & I
8. Zayn Malik – Pillowtalk
7. Taylor Swift – New Romantics
6. Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out
5. The Chainsmokers/Rozes – Roses
4. Lukas Graham – 7 Years
3. Troye Sivan – Youth
2. Flo Rida – My House
1. Justin Bieber – Love Yourself
The actual countdown this week certainly wasn't bad. It was better than last year when we had Maroon 5 – Sugar at #1. Yuck. As much as I love Maroon 5, that song sucked honestly. Although, I'm getting tired of Stressed Out, I can still stand it.
~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Coldplay can hold at #1 for a third week in a row and a sixth time overall with Hymn For The Weekend!

2. G-Eazy/Bebe Rexha – Me, Myself, & I

Which is better Calvin Harris' new song or Zedd's ???
ReplyDeleteI honestly preferred Calvin Harris' song
DeleteThe beat is amazing and Rihanna actually sounds really good ( no offense If you are a fan of her I'm not really except when she sings like on this song )
Zedd's song is better by a long shot in my opinion. Although I do like Calvin Harris' song, I was a little disappointed by it. It's not what I was hoping for.
DeleteWhat part were you disappointed in?
DeleteNot to bash your opinion or anything, But I kinda wish Zedd would have put out a new song or put Kesha on a song from the album besides true colors. The Song really wasn't my favorite on there
DeleteIt's Good, but not really that great
True Colors should debut VENUS also.
DeleteThis Is What You Came For had a nice build-up in the chorus, but a disappointing drop. The song itself just feels like another song. There's nothing special about it.
DeleteFor True Colors, we have an artist who we haven't heard from in a long time after all these issues she's been going through singing these lyrics that pretty much describe and relate to her. True Colors isn't my favorite off the album either, but this song really is the best fit for her. Plus, I think her voice shines a lot better in this song that Rihanna's does in This Is What You Came For.
I guess overall, the main difference between the two is with True Colors, I can feel the emotion in Kesha's voice whereas This Is What You Came For is just another song.
OMG THIS IS WHAT YOU CAME FOR IS LOVE THIS IS WHAT YOU CAME FOR IS LIFE THERE IS VERY MUCH SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT CALVIN HARRIS IS THE BEST
DeleteWell it kinda takes away from the song for me
DeleteBecause true colors was already a song sung by someone else on Zedd's last album
it's a good song I just love this is what you came for
What made you hate Work more than Same Old Love?
ReplyDeleteWill On My Mind ever turn to red?
Do you think you will ever get sick of Sorry or My House?
Are you annoyed about No jumping?
Do you like the Hits 1 version of Let It Go better than the normal?
Could Pillowtalk turn to red soon because its been in blue for a while?
How much better is Just Like Fire than Me, Myself, And I?
You kind of seem negative about You Don't Own Me so are you growing out of it?
You are kind of acting like your really sick of Stressed Out so could it turn to yellow or turquoise soon?
When do you think the song war results will be out?
Will you ever do a 700k page view special?
Any chance of you ever growing into Ride?
And nice post anyways.
Thanks.
DeleteI'm not Adrian but,
DeleteRihanna is worse than Selena Gomez,
it's red on my blog,
I got sick of both of them,
I'm actually happy about No jumping,
IDK,
I'm sick of Pillowtalk,
Just Like Fire is worse than Me, Myself, & I,
I like it,
I don't like it as much as I used to because of 19,
don't do song wars,
I wanna get 10,000 page views,
Ride is awesome.
Everyone go look at the top 20 for i-tunes it's hilarious!

Graham, what happened to the blog on this week's countdown? Why did you delete it?
DeleteI'm doing blurbs it'll be back in a sec.
DeleteIts back!
DeleteHey! I'm going to be 17 years old too also this month. Also, today is my kitten Muffin's birthday. She is 3.
ReplyDeleteLet me guess your birthday: May 21.
DeleteMay 21 2011
DeleteI'm so damn tired of Twnety One Pilots.
ReplyDeleteI'm so damn tired of your taste in msuic.
DeleteAm I seriously the only one who's not sick of Stressed Out at all?
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that the 3 exits left, because they were oh-so very needed.
I love the fact that Never Forget You and Just Like Fire debuted this week, but Close is okay.
I'm so glad I Took A Pill In Ibiza had the biggest jump, and that Perfect had the biggest drop.
NO NO NOOOO! WORK FROM HOME BEING At #10 IS UNACEEPTABLE!!!!!
I didn't expect for Make Me Like You to jump in the top 20, but I don't care, even if it did lose all popularity on the Hot 100.
Work, and Adventure Of A Lifetime are hanging on at the bottom 5. They can stay on here a little bit longer.
Why can't One Call Away leave already!?
I'm fine that Victorious jumped, because I'm no where near sick of it.
Finally, America's Sweetheart jumped into the top 20.
Did History, and NO seriously have to jump, especially NO.
I'm fine that Jet Black Heart jumped into the top 10.
Why isn't Ride jumping higher and faster?
How is Get Ugly not gone yet?

DeleteAdrian, you should take a listen to it on YouTube.
DeleteYes, I know my song. It is quite good, but does not hit the height of Beautiful Now (ft. Jon Bellion) or True Colors (with Ke$ha).
DeleteSuit & Tie is good sometimes and at other times it can be a tad annoying.
DeleteQuack, quack, I'm a duck.
DeleteDemons is fine. It's Time is their best song ever tho
DeleteI don't know my song but I'll listen to it

I hate this song but here we go:
ReplyDeleteHere I am, once again
Feeling lost but now and then
I breath it in to let it go
And you don't know
where you are now
Or what it would come to
if only somebody could hear
When you figure out how
your lost in the moment
you disappear
You don't have to be afraid to put your dream in action
you're never gonna fade you'll be the main attraction
Not a fantasy
Just remember me
when it turns out right
'cause you know that if you live in your imagination
tomorrow you'll be everybody's fascination
In my victory
Just remember me
when I make it shine!
Reaching high
feeling low
I'm holding on but letting go
I like to shine
I'll shine for you
And it's time to show the world how
it's a little bit closer
as long as I'm ready to go
All we have is right now
as long as you feel it inside you know ....
You don't have to be afraid to put your dream in action
your never gonna fade you'll be the main attraction
not a fantasy
just remember me
when it turns out right
'coz you know that if you live in your imagination
tomorrow you'll be everybody's fascination
in my victory
just remember me
when I make it shine
Everyone can tell you how it's all been said and done
That harder times will change your mind and make you wanna run
But you want it
And you need it
Like you need to breath the air
If they doubt you
Just believe it
That's enough to get you there
You don't have to be afraid to put your dream in action
your never gonna fade you'll be the main attraction
not a fantasy
just remember me
when it turns out right
'cuz you know that if you live in your imagination
tomorrow you'll be everybody's fascination
in my victory
just remember me
when I make it SHINE!
I love this song. Probably because Victorious was one of my favorite shows when I was younger.
DeleteExcuse me, you're not allowed to do the lyrics.
DeleteI like Victorious, (The song and the show, mind you) but I do think iCarly was better. And yet, both of those songs are no where near my top 10 favorite TV shows of all-time.
DeleteI love Victorious. I love any show that relates to teenagers and object shows.
DeleteI like some live action sitcom shows targeted to teens, but they're not my favorite kinds of shows. What I recommend is The Big Bang Theory, one of the best shows currently airing today.
DeleteI love this song!!!! Victorious was a great show!!! I'm actually sad that they ended it too early after less than 3 years. Cat was my favorite character too because she was so stupid at some points and at other points she could make smart remarks, Ariana Grande did a great job at being funny on that show.
DeleteI'm not to familiar about this song.
DeleteGreat post! I'm glad you realistically re-enraged the top 10. Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteChallenge time: Which song is the lyrics below, and who sings it.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's just like the ocean under the moon
That's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of loving that can be so smooth, yeah.
Gimme your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it.
Santana - Smooth

DeleteYou got it Jack.
DeleteAre you serious Chase? Hands To Myself doesn't have the lyrics "Gimme your heart, make it real or else forget about it." Listen to Smooth and Hands To Myself, I don't know where you got the idea that it is Hands To Myself because you are wrong and Jack is right.

Nope, I don't see the appeal. By the way Trance, just because I like Gravity Falls doesn't mean I love all the random videos about it. What I love about the show is the comedy and the mystery aspect that makes me keep on coming back to it, even if the show is over. And besides, I don't like YTP's at all.

DeleteI don't need a piece of cake! This gum is so good! And.........
ReplyDeleteI signed up for my school's dance rally this year, I'm on the Sophomore team.
ReplyDeleteBecause of this I will not be able to comment as often.
DeleteUgh.
DeleteI love and still like iCarly and Victorious was good too. I also like Sam And Cat but they stopped making them. I just don't like the songs from them basically.
ReplyDeleteNot again.
DeleteI loved all of those shows. Victorious and iCarly were the best. Big Time Rush was really good too.
DeleteI wasn't a big fan of Big Time Rush, because it felt like a generic and cliché show about 4 boys moving to California to make it big as a boy band.
DeleteAnd I wasn't too big a fan of Sam And Cat, because I felt like it was just to please fans of Victorious and iCarly after both of the shows ended.
I don't really watch a lot of shows on Nick anymore, because they're either awful cartoons (SpongeBob, Fairly Odd Parents) or bad teen sitcoms.
I used to like SpongeBob and Fairly Odd Parents, but after 4 or 5 seasons and 7 years, it got old, dumb, and became cash cows that lost their credibility due to ridiculous character derailment.
And besides, I was more of a Cartoon Network fan when I was a kid. Key word being was, until in 2008 they decided to have a new block called CN Real, which was awful for the exact reason you might think. (A network all about cartoons should not have live action shows) The Writers Guild strike also left the network broke, and resorted to the dumbest shows on the Network (Johnny Test, The Problem Solverz, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, Et cetera)
While I do like iCarly and Victorious I kinda miss the old days of old cartoons like Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and old SpongeBob and Fairly Odd Parents. Same with on Cartoon Network with KND, Fosters, Dexter's Lab, Ed, Edd & Eddy, The Grim Adventures and so on. (Wow I had a lot of cartoons I liked when I was younger)
iCarly is one of my favorite shows of all time.

DeleteDon't be shy, WAMB10.
DeleteI'm sorry, that wasn't a nice word.
DeleteNo, I've seen better shows. The Big Bang Theory, Gravity Falls, Top Gear UK, Ed, Edd, & Eddy, you get the point.

ReplyDeleteThis is your Billboard Breakdown!
ReplyDeleteWell, this week was very unexpected. I'm not surprised that Panda is #1, considering its near stranglehold on streaming and sales.
No, what surprised me was One Dance jumping to #2 due to airplay gains. Especially considering I haven't heard it at all on my local radio stations.
And with 7 Years dropping to #3 was expected though.
What I didn't expect was Purple Rain jumping into the top 10 at #4, due mostly to sales inertia.
While I Took A Pill In Ibiza held its spot at #5, Work dropped to #6 and Work From Home (Finally) dropped to #7.
Another big surprise was When Doves Cry jumped from #20 to #8 as well.
And while Pillowtalk slid down to #$9, the release of Beyoncé's new album, Lemonade, gave Formation the honorable Hot Shot Debut this week.

DeleteJason Derulo invited me to do a duet!!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI promise you that The Hot 45 Chart will be out soon. Don't give up on me!!! Homework is killing my life right now!!
ReplyDeleteSoon is hopefully tomorrow!!! I'm so sorry guys!!! I'm having so much homework these past couple weeks!!!
Delete"Homework is killing my life right now"
DeleteWell then GET A FUCKING TUTOR!!! He'll teach you how to drive a pickup truck!!!
"Homework is killing my life" means that I am not able to do anything else. So stop talking to me like that please. And for your information, I am in 4 honors classes, and I take 9th grade classes when I'm in 8th grade. As well as I am in the top 10 of my class, so there is no need for me to get a tutor. I mean that I'm getting assigned loads of homework Parker. And as a teen, Parker, I'm sure you are too.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI've only had to homework at home like five times the whole year, so you might as well take my suggestions
DeleteAnd I've had straight As for the past 4 years
DeleteI've gotten straight A's in 6th and 7th grade.
DeletePlease stop!!!!!
DeleteI've gotten straight A's up to 7th grade. In 8th grade I got two B's and all A's, so no, Parker, I don't need a. tutor, as some homework takes longer than others, depending on the level of thought needed to be used and the amount assigned. I doesn't mean that I'm doing bad, but thank you for the suggestion.
DeleteI'm very angry right now.
DeleteEven better, I get to tutor people because I'm joining the National Junior Beta Club next year
DeleteI've been in the National Junior Honor society for two years, that's probably similar. It's a great foundation.
DeleteI really wished that Get Ugly had a Cheyenne tenure. :/
ReplyDeleteExactly. But it's hits 1, I mean what can we all do? :(
DeleteGo to the bar and have a glass of wine.
DeleteGet Ugly needs to leave soon.
DeleteChase, no, that would be underage drinking drinking for all of us except you. 😂
