Adele (4) – Week Of December 5, 2015

So earlier this week, I believe it was confirmed that Coldplay will be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. As I have I huge love for Coldplay, I'm definitely excited about this. #1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Taylor Swift – Shake It Off

Biggest Jump Of The Week: R. City/Adam Levine – Locked Away (+16)

New Entrants
~ As we get a re-entry from Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods, that means only two debuts this week.

~ The Weeknd is back for the fifth time this year. In The Night is almost like another Can't Feel My Face. It's an upbeat song, which even though I said doesn't go well with The Weeknd, this song may be an exception. Is it his best song? No. Earned It and The Hills hold that crown. Although this song is really catchy now, I definitely see myself begging for this song to leave radio sometime in the future. Now as far as I know, Hits 1 likes The Weeknd more upbeat than they do dark and mysterious as they kept the upbeat Can't Feel My Face for a seemingly long time (and it's still here), but got rid of the dark and mysterious Earned It and The Hills relatively quickly. By that theory, my guess is that Hits 1 will keep In The Night for a seemingly long time. So I will probably get sick of it soon. However, I definitely like it now.

~ Everyone must welcome Joe Jonas back into the music industry as he debuts this week with his new project, DNCE. Their single, Cake By The Ocean, I was definitely on the fence about at first. However, after repeated listens, I definitely grew into it. I really like Jonas' voice in this song. I think that's one of the things that makes the verses catchy and the chorus kind of stand out from others. It's definitely one of my favorite songs currently on the countdown. Better watch out, Nick Jonas. Your brother is back!

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • MØ – Kamikaze
  • Coldplay – Adventure Of A Lifetime
  • Jason Derulo – Get Ugly
  • The Vamps – Wake Up
  • Tove Lo – Moments
  • Charlie Puth – One Call Away
  • Adele – When We Were Young
  • Conrad Sewell – Hold Me Up
  • Disclosure/Lorde – Magnets
  • Adam Lambert – Another Lonely Night
  • Jacob Whitesides – Secrets
  • Gwen Stefani – Used To Love You
  • Shawn Mendes/Camila Cabello – I Know What You Did Last Summer
  • Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – S.O.B.
  • Tryon – Somebody To Love Me

~ I'm really upset and irritated that the annoying Jason Derulo – Get Ugly replaced the amazing Try Me. Why would you do something like that to me, Hits 1?!?! Now I have to deal with this annoying new song for probably months to come.

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Coldplay – Adventure Of A Lifetime
2. Disclosure/Lorde – Magnets
3. Adam Lambert – Another Lonely Night
4. Gwen Stefani – Used To Love You
5. Shawn Mendes/Camila Cabello – I Know What You Did Last Summer

Are We Out Of The Blurbs Yet?
~ For those who are unaware, Taylor Swift – Out Of The Woods is in fact a re-entry. It debuted on this countdown a little over a year ago when it got released from 1989 as a promotional single. It only lasted one week on the countdown. Now that it's rumored to be the sixth single off 1989, Hits 1 immediately picked up on it and here it is. I don't enjoy now as much as before. But it's still a really good song.

~ Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible took a rough fall this week. Yikes. But knowing Hits 1 and their love for Fall Out Boy, it'll probably jump back up within a couple weeks.

~ I can't stand Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You! It's so lifeless and boring! I don't like Meghan Trainor's voice. Can this song leave soon since it really isn't doing anything. Now that I jinxed it, watch it move into the Top 10 next week.

~ I didn't even notice last week that One Direction has two songs in the Top 10.

~ I'm slowly losing interest in Demi Lovato – Confident. I don't know what it is. It's just not as fun to jam out to as Heart Attack and Cool For The Summer were.

~ It's starting. I'm beginning to get tired of Adele – Hello. 6 weeks on the countdown and I'm already getting sick of it. Thanks Hits 1 for overplaying it already. *sarcasm alert*

~ Hey, Nick Jonas – Levels! Do you mind leaving soon? I'm getting tired of hearing you on the radio! Thank you!

~ Along with Levels, I'm getting really sick of Fifth Harmony – Worth It. It was good for the first few months. But not something that should stick around this long.

~ Hooray! Halsey – New Americana has recovered from that unnecessary drop last week!

~ The Biggest Jump and Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week both moved the same number of spots.

~ Please get Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance out of the Top 5, then the Top 10, and then off the countdown forever.

~ Selena Gomez – Same Old Love has now peaked higher than Good For You did. I would like to keep the song out of the Top 10 and have songs like Something Better enter instead. But it won't be the end of the world is Same Old Love enters the Top 10.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Find out if Justin Bieber can hold at #1 for a second week in a row with Sorry!

~ We have just passed 600,000 pageviews this morning! I'm very happy by this! I'm not gonna get too much into it until the actual milestone post comes out. But for the 600,000 pageview special, for the sake of time and my busy schedule, we're going to do another Q&A post. Do you have any questions you want to ask about me? Now is your chance! The link to the survey is down below! I'll have the survey up for questions until the end of this coming week. All the info you need is in the survey.

~ As far as the Song Wars Round 1 goes, voting is now closed. Results will be posted on the Hit 45 Chart blog sometime later today. I'll inform you when that gets posted in the comment section down below.

~ Alright. I think I got everything. What? I'm missing something? Oh yeah! Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman has finally left the countdown!!!!!!!!!!!! It's about time!!!!!! This was my reaction:

So as you can tell, I'm pretty damn happy! So long you piece of crap!!! :D

~ When looking at the Song Wars Round 1 Voting results earlier this week. I did get a request from a guy named John to shout him out in my post. I was supposed to do it last week, but I didn't know because I didn't look at the voting results until earlier this week. But hey, John! Thank you for viewing my posts and voting on the Song Wars survery! I appreciate it man! :)

~ Most Missed Countdown Song: Gotye/Kimbra – Somebody That I Used To Know

My Top 5 Picks
1. Audien/Lady Antebellum – Something Better
2. Justin Bieber – Sorry
3. Rachel Platten – Stand By You
4. DNCE – Cake By The Ocean
5. TIE: Panic! At The Disco – Victorious
5. TIE: X Ambassadors – Renegades

Goodbye, Uma Thurman. You will always be missed and never forgotten.

  5. Hey look I got something right for my predictions. the 3 songs that debuted finally did!

Nope still not over Hello at all. I may never will.

If Irresistible does fall off, than that means that for the first time since mid 2013 the Weekend Countdown would be Fall Out Boy-less.

Speaking of Irresistible, why did it have the biggest DROP!!! and why did Locked Away have the biggest jump?!?!?!

I thought for sure Ex's & Oh's would have hit #1, but I guess Hits 1 heard me and decided not to move it. Thanks Hits 1.

Finally, Thinking Out Loud is at the bottom 5 of the countdown. Now if we can just get it out next week I'll be happy.

I could see Out Of The Woods be Taylor Swift's next #1 hit here.

Out of all the FOB songs that were on the countdown, Hits 1 does not let Uma Thurman spend at least 1 week at #1. Instead they let songs like Young Volcanoes, and Alone Together hit #1. At least Light 'Em Up, and Centuries hit #1, but Uma Thurman should have at least interrupted 1 week of WTM's 12 non-consecutive weeks at #1 during its prolonged tenure.

Finally Photograph is moving down, and is out of the top 10!

Was Hotline Bling on the countdown for 2 or 3 weeks? Because it seems like it had a really short countdown tenure. Not that I'm complaining, just curious and happy its gone.

I've kinda grown into Tear In My Heart a bit, and realized I didn't really give it much of a chance so right now its in blue for me.

I hope Stand By You doesn't have its whole tenure on the countdown in the mid-30s to upper-20s. I want to see it hit the top 10.

Okay, now I want Something better to hit the top 10 as well. Thanks to listening it multiple times I now want it to hit the top 10.

    Finally New Americana is jumping.

I'm starting to get sick of Stitches and Drag Me Down now.

I'm now getting tired of hearing Like I'm Gonna Lose You now, so expect this to be red by January. (if it can last that long)

See You Again is still here. -__-

Wildest Dreams may be the first Taylor Swift song that I will put in red by January, if it doesn't leave soon.

Magnets is finally on Hit-bound! Now let's get it into the countdown as quick as possible.

While I'm on the subject of Hit-Bound, let's get I Know What You Did Last Summer, Used To Love You, Kamikaze, and Another Lonely Night on the countdown as well.

No, no, no, no. Sorry should not be dropping, it should be jumping. Hits 1 had better fix this mistake soon.

    Top 5:

    1. Hello- Adele
    2. Stand By You- Rachel Platten
    3. Out Of The Woods- Taylor Swift

  6. Hey Adrian, is it okay if we have an Uma Thurman be-gone party on this blog?
Classic Hits 1, letting such a popular rap song as Hotline Bling leave the countdown too early.
Um, Trance, take a look at #40. Specifically, the color that it's in. What's your reaction to that?
I honestly like Welcome To New York better than Out of the Woods. But OOTW will do...for now.
And yet the annoying-as-crap Want To Want Me and Thinking Out Loud are still here.
Why hasn't One Call Away debuted the countdown yet? And has anyone heard the version with Tyga in it?
I'm surprised Used To Love You didn't debut this week, concerning that Gwen Stefani (or is it Gwen Shelton?) hosted this week.
    (I know that I'm saying "this week" a lot...lol)

#21, #24, and #4 SUCK!!! Watch Me, Trap Queen, and Thinking Out Loud suck as well, and are the worst 3 songs in the top 10.

    3. What exactly is so bad about #21, #24, #4, Watch Me, Trap Queen, and Thinking Out Loud?

    4. Fetty Wap SUCKS!! He's a terrible artist, who can't sing at all, and I'm not at all surprised that a bunch of idiots actually like his music after everything I've seen from the past decade.

Who the hell even says post to be anyway?!?! This is also some of the worst I've seen from DJ Mustard.

Watch Me reminds me too much of No Flex Zone and Soulja Boy. Crank that is the 2nd worst song to hit #1 in the 2000s, and No Flex Zone is yet another stupid internet songs, which can be boiled down to this. Be as bad as humanly possible.

Thinking Out Loud is extremely boring, un-danceable, and way to fluffing slow to be catchy.
