Shawn Mendes (3) – Week Of November 7, 2015

There's news that The Voice coaches, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, are currently dating. They've both recently been divorced from their ex-spouses, so it looks like they already have something in common. New Entrants
~ We got a re-entry this week from Echosmith – Let's Love. So only one new entrant for the second consecutive week.

~ Our one new entrant comes from newcomer, Audien, featuring the returning country group, Lady Antebellum. It's an interesting collab, since Audien brought a country group into an EDM track. But I absolutely love how it turned out. Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley's voices have always sounded really good together, and they still do. Something Better is a perfect example of a catchy song with a cool beat and a nice duo of voices that sound awesome together. I hope to see this song do well on the charts because frankly, it deserves recognition.

Hit-Bound
~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Conrad Sewell – Hold Me Up
  • Ariana Grande – Focus
  • Nico & Vinz/Bebe Rexha – That's How You Know
  • MØ – Kamikaze
  • Flo Rida – My House
  • Tove Lo – Moments
  • DNCE – Cake By The Ocean
  • Rachel Platten – Stand By You
  • Sam Hunt – House Party
  • Drake – Hotline Bling
  • Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
  • Charlie Puth – One Call Away
  • Justin Bieber – Sorry
  • Jacob Whitesides – Secrets
  • ZZ Ward – Love 3X

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
2. Flo Rida – My House
3. Justin Bieber – Sorry
4. Ariana Grande – Focus
5. Conrad Sewell – Hold Me Up

Let's Blurb While We're Young
~ Adele – Hello is at #3 on its second week on the countdown. It has a good shot at hitting #1 on its third week, which will make it the shortest number of weeks for a song to obtain the #1 spot. That's probably what will end up happening.

~ Although Hello made that quick jump to #3, Elle King – Ex's & Oh's rose to #2 this week, which is a lot higher than I thought this song could go. It's possible that this song can hit #1, but I would say it's unlikely to happen. But hey, this is Hits 1 were talking about.

~ Hozier – Someone New and Maroon 5 – Feelings took some pretty quick drops. They're both losing popularity, so I'm expecting them both to be gone in a couple of weeks, if not next week.

~ Pentatonix – Can't Sleep Love jumping to #14 is ridiculous on every level. Please get this piece of mediocre trash out of here!!!

~ Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Downtown took a surprising 13-spot tumble to #20 this week. Although I'm shocked, I'm very happy about it.

~ Panic! At The Disco – Victorious needs to rise higher! This song is my jam!!! I need it to be higher on this countdown!

~ Hailee Steinfeld – Love Myself took the expected drop after the ridiculous jump last week.

~ Hits 1 doesn't seem to understand how popular and successful of a track The Weeknd – The Hills is. It's been #1 in a bunch of different charts and can't even reach the Top 10 here, very similar to Earned It from earlier this year.

~ Adam Lambert – Ghost Town back in the Top 20? I definitely allow it.

~ Ed Sheeran – Photograph and Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance need to leave the Top 10. I'm really sick of these songs and I don't know who could possibly still be voting for them.

~ Jess Glynne – Hold My Hand jumping to #27 this week is unbelievable.

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Go find out if Renegades will hold #1 for a fifth week in a row and seventh week overall!

~ Although I love all the comments that appear in my posts, I am setting down a new commenting rule. When you comment, please refrain from having like 100 spaces in your comments. It makes it harder and takes longer to scroll down, especially when these posts rack up over 300 comments. It's also kind of annoying. So please don't do that. Anyone who chooses to ignore this and do it anyway will have their comment deleted because frankly, it's irritating at times. So yeah. I just wanted to put that out there. This is your warning. Although, I'm not requiring you to do this next thing, I will appreciate it if you show some maturity in your comments by not having your caps lock on the entire time. By that, I mean have some lowercase letters and not have your comments in all caps. I will begin doing this things as well so I don't look like a hypocrite. But some maturity in the comment section would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

~ This Week's Most Missed Song: Tinie Tempah/Eric Turner – Written In The Stars

My Top 5 Picks
1. X Ambassadors – Renegades
2. Panic! At The Disco – Victorious
3. Audien/Lady Antebellum – Something Better
4. The Weeknd – The Hills
5. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town

PARKER, obviously. Like we didn't know already. :P
    Let's love re-entering? WTH Hits 1?
I'm starting to grow back into Hold My Hand.
And why hasn't Thinking Out Loud left yet? Same with See You Again?
Hozier's drop this week was totally unacceptable.
So, those are my thoughts for this week's WC. Have a good night folks!

  5. I'm glad Gibberish is gone, but I was just starting to get into That's How You Know.

Feelings should have jumped and Locked Away should have dropped.

I really don't mind that Let's Love is back, in fact I think it will gain in popularity and maybe hit the top 10. Please enter the top 10 so we don't have to listen Locked Away anymore.

Shouldn't Here and Good To Be Alive be jumping 5 or more spots by now?

I can definitely say Hello wil1 hit #1 soon and thank God it will, because this might be the best song of 2015.

Adrian You do realize that Same Old Love was red now its blue, so did you start to get into it or something?

Finally Perfect got the jump it needed.

Okay can we all as a society stop saying that Thinking Out Loud is a good song? Its one of the most boring songs I've ever heard, and I listened to some of Drake's more popular songs.

I'm probably very late, but I just listened to Want To Want Me in full and honestly I enjoy it. This is probably Jason's most tolerable song to date. Congratulations Jason, you've officially been removed from my shit list. Your ribbings in the mail.

Victorious dropping is a bad thing!

Same Old Love jumping is a good thing!

And now a mini review of all the songs in the top 10:

    1. Stitches- Its ok (Blue)
    2. Ex's And Oh's- Really great and I'm glad is finally getting the attention it deserves (Green)
    3. Hello- Best song in the top 10 (Purple)
    4. Drag Me Down- Not their best but really catchy (Green)
    5. Locked Away- Adam's voice fails on this song, but it worked for Sugar (Orange)
    6. Wildest Dreams- Kind of boring but mildly catchy (Blue)
    7. SUAD- I hated it because I wanted Taylor to hold the record, but I'll admit, its catchy, fun, energetic, and I'm so glad it became the success it was. All in all this song is great, but I never want to hear this song again (Yellow)
    8. Black Magic- I really like that Black Magic has this sort of 80s feel, like I'm listening to the modern day version of Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Green)
    9. Its starting to become the new Thinking Out Loud and that's not a good thing (Turquoise)
    10. Levels- I still like Chains better but this is good for now (Blue)

I'm getting bored with Hula Hoop now.

Can we please have Stand By You Enter or at least Cake By The Ocean?

I really do not care about Something Better at all.

    Top 5:

    1. Hello- Adele
    2. Perfect- One Direction
    3. Feelings- Maroon 5
    4. Irresistible- Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato
    5. Good To Be Alive- Andy Grammar

    Bottom 5:

    1. Thinking Out Loud- Ed Sheeran (Please leave soon)
    2. Locked Away- R. City/Adam Levine
    3. Can't Sleep Love- Pentatonix
    4. See You Again- Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth
    5. Tear In My Heart- Twenty-One Pilots

2 good things have happened for me so far this weekend. One I went to our last football game of the season and we beat on of out local rival schools, and we won by a touchdown and stopped them with an interception before they can try to tie it up or win. it was amazing, even though we aren't going to playoffs seeing as wee finish 2-8 this season. But Another good thing happened today because I just got Ellie Goulding's new album Delirium, and I love it.

Hits 1 hates The Weeknd, Earned It was very successful but peaked very low here, same with the hills, and CFMF was only #1 for one week. I just hope hits 1 realizes they f**ked the f**k up and f**kin move the f**kin hills to f**kin number 1.

    3. Wiggle, Anaconda, Na Na, Do What U Want, 23, and Let It Go.

    4. They are way too over the top stupid, lazy, overly sexual and boring!

    5. I like Anaconda, but I hate Wiggle. Anaconda was my guilty pleasure of 2014.

      Delete
    6. I love Let It Go, Wiggle is amazing and was my moms favorite song last year, Na Na is catchy, Do What You Want is good but not great, 23 is horrible because Miley Cyrus is going downhill with her career, All About That Base is awesome, Cheerleader is one of my favorite songs of the year, and Photograph was a great song but it got old.

    6. I like it but I really hate his hit from 2013, Only You. Fun Fact: CeeLo has the same last name as I do. I've never heard Scream so I wouldn't have any opinion in it.
