Biggest DROP!!!... Of The Week: Demi Lovato – Cool For The Summer (–20)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Hozier – Someone New (+18)

New Entrants
~ First up we have Selena Gomez who has failed to impress me with her new album, Revival. This week, she brings us Same Old Love featuring Charli XCX, who actually co-wrote the song. The song overall is not really any better than Good For You. I really liked her album, Stars Dance, which featured two of her best songs, Come & Get It and Slow Down. But unfortunately, this girl is slowly going downhill with her music.

~ Andy Grammer's new single, Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah), doesn't impress me that much either. It's definitely better than Same Old Love. There are some parts that are catchy. But at the same time, there are parts that are annoying. Songs like Back Home from his album, Magazines Or Novels, are what made him look good in my book. Even Keep Your Head Up and Fine By Me from his debut self-titled album were pretty good. I'm sure Good To Be Alive will grow on me with repeated listens. But for now, it's nothing more than a countdown filler.

Hit-Bound
~ I'm really annoyed by the fact that Icona Pop – Emergency is still on Hit-Bound. This song is annoying as hell. I already know it's not going to make it to the countdown. But I'm still annoyed that it's taking up space during this one-hour show that could be given to a song more deserving of it.

~ Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together left American Top 40 this week. So I'm pretty sure it won't make the Weekend Countdown, unfortunately.

~ Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You is really high on the iTunes charts at the moment. So there's a good chance it's going to debut the countdown soon.

~ I honestly forgot Pitbull/Jason Derulo/Juicy J – Drive You Crazy is on Hit-Bound.

~ Alessia Cara – Here has been on Hit-Bound for a while now. I honestly don't know what its fate will be. We'll have to wait and see.

~ Here is the Hit-Bound list:

  • Pharrell – Freedom
  • Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
  • Meghan Trainor/John Legend – Like I'm Gonna Lose You
  • Omi – Hula Hoop
  • Pitbull/Jason Derulo/Juicy J – Drive You Crazy
  • Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
  • Becky G – Break A Sweat
  • Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together
  • George Ezra – Blame It On Me
  • Icona Pop – Emergency
  • Rachel Platten – Stand By You
  • Demi Lovato – Confident
  • 5 Seconds Of Summer – Hey Everybody!
  • Alessia Cara – Here
  • ZZ Ward – Love 3X

Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks
1. Fall Out Boy/Demi Lovato – Irresistible
2. Rudimental/Ed Sheeran – Lay It All On Me
3. Becky G – Break A Sweat
4. Rachel Platten – Stand By You
5. Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj – Back Together

Blurbelujah
~ Ellie Goulding – On My Mind made the jump into the Top 10 way sooner than I had expected. But hey, the sooner, the better right?

~ Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean? is not really doing anything on this countdown. I can't remember the last Justin Bieber song that hit the Top 10 on this countdown. This song doesn't seem to be blowing up here as much as everywhere else.

~ Los 5 – Manana has now left us for the second time by yet another guest host. There are honestly times when I think this catchy, and then other times I think it's annoying.

~ My mother is a pretty big fan of Pentatonix. Earlier this week, she heard Can't Sleep Love for the first time and didn't like it for the exact same reason I don't like it. What was that reason again? Oh yeah. IT'S BORING!!! Now even I'll admit, not everything they do is garbage. They released their self-titled album not long ago and I'm really liking their cover of Major Lazer/DJ Snake/MO – Lean On. You should take a listen to it.

~ Echosmith – Let's Love is such a space filler. It'll probably be gone within the next few weeks.

~ Phoebe Ryan – Mine will probably be on its way out as well. I keep forgetting that it's still here.

~ Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth – See You Again and Taylor Swift – Bad Blood are both extremely old. Having them leave soon before I hate them would be nice.

~ One Direction haven't had a song to peak all the way at #2 in quite a while. Maybe I was wrong about this just being another One Direction song. Maybe it will hit #1.

~ Talking Body and Want To Want Me should not be moving up. They should both be gone by now.

YouTube15
~ Once again, I do think Jenna Marbles is pretty funny. But then again, I laugh at pretty much anything. So yeah.

~ There's been a lot of talk about DNCE – Cake By The Ocean. Overall, it's a catchy song. But it's not something I see myself coming back to. It's nice to Joe Jonas back in the singing career. But this song isn't really that much to me. It's only above average.

~ I don't think Robin Schulz/Jasmine Thompson – Sun Goes Down is that far away from lasting a year on the YouTube15. Seriously, Robin Schulz was able to get a new album out in the time this song was (and still is) trending.

~ Here is the YouTube15 list:

  • Dawin – Dessert
  • Sigala – Easy Love
  • Skylar Grey/X Ambassadors – Cannonball
  • The Vamps – Wake Up
  • Kehlani/Coucheron – Alive
  • Prince Royce/Jennifer Lopez/Pitbull – Back It Up
  • Heather Russell – Got This Feeling
  • DNCE – Cake By The Ocean
  • Robin Schulz/Jasmine Thompson – Sun Goes Down
  • Fifth Harmony – I'm In Love With A Monster
  • Ailee – Insane
  • Pia Mia/Chris Brown/Tyga – Do It Again
  • Disclosure/Lorde – Magnets
  • Little Mix – Love Me Like You
  • Breathe Carolina/KARRA – Platinum Hearts

Top 5 YouTube15 Picks
1. Skylar Grey/X Ambassadors – Cannonball
2. Disclosure/Lorde – Magnets
3. Prince Royce/Jennifer Lopez/Pitbull – Back It Up
4. Robin Schulz/Jasmine Thompson – Sun Goes Down
5. Pia Mia/Chris Brown/Tyga – Do It Again

~ The Hit 45 Chart for this week is out! Will X Ambassadors – Renegades hold at #1 for a second week in a row and fourth time overall? You'll have to hang on to find out!

~ Most Missed Song(s): Ke$ha – TiK ToK / We R Who We R

My Top 5 Picks
1. TIE: X Ambassadors – Renegades
1. TIE: Panic! At The Disco – Victorious
3. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town
4. Ellie Goulding – On My Mind
5. Taylor Swift – Wildest Dreams

  1. OMG IRRESISTIBLE IS AMAZING!!

    Did Freedom grow on you?

If u haven't heard Confident its garbage

I have the same exact opinion on both debuts as you

Easy Love is so catchy why don't you like it?

WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE DRIVE YOU CRAZY?!

I'll be fine if Stitches spends a couple more weeks at #1 but I'll get annoyed of it soon

I had that same opinion on Cake By The Ocean as you do now when I first heard it. I grew into it though

    1. Yes, Freedom grew on me.

      Confident is actually pretty catchy.

Easy Love is remake of a song I didn't originally like. So this song is pretty annoying.

I'm really tired of Jason Derulo. That's probably the only reason I dislike Drive You Crazy. Pitbull is good though.

    Alessia Cara-Here(GREEN)

    ZZ Ward-Love 3X(BLUE)

So we have 2 awesome debuts. The first is from Hits 1's favorite anything, Fall Out Boy. This song was released before they made a Demi version. I loved this song before it was popular(kinda). It's great.

But wait, the Demi madness doesn't stop there. Because it just gets better. Confident is soooooooo much better than the cheesy Cool For The Summer, and might surpass anything she has ever put out.

I grew a little into Love 3X and Hula Hoop, let's see if it lasts.

Blame It On Me is super catchy. I hope it debuts. It's already a lot better than Budapest.

Robin Thicke/Nicki Minaj-Back Together left AT40 this week. Because of this, I don't see it debuting. Good try.

Meghan Trainor/John Legend-Like I'm Gonna Lose You and Alessia Cara-Here are both on AT40. They need to debut here.

  3. Adrian, I think I know why you don't like Love Me Like You...

    ReplyDelete
  4. I actually love Same Old Love, but I haven't heard the one with Charlie XCX yet.

I agree See You Again should leave, but I haven't grown out of a single Taylor Swift song yet.

Get Want To Want Me out, and get Here in. That's my solution.

Tear in My Hearts aired almost 100 times in the last week right? Yet it hasn't jumped at all.

On My Mind did enter the top 10 earlier than I expected, but hey I'm not complaining.

    I can't stand Can't Sleep Love. Seriously I can't stand 10 seconds of it.

She's Kinda Hot and Honey I'm good will be gone soon.

    Marvin Gaye jumping back?

Not feeling Good To Be Alive.

I'm really starting to get into Victorious.

It looks like there will be a bit of a battle for the #1 spot between Stitches and Drag Me Down. Personally I don't care which one is #1.

I'm glad Manana and Cheerleader are finally gone.

    Top 5:

    1. Wildest Dreams- Taylor Swift
    2. Same Old Love- Selena Gomez
    3. On My Mind- Ellie Goulding
    4. The Hills- The Weeknd
    5. Downtown- Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Eric Nally

    Bottom 5:

    1. Thinking Out Loud- Ed Sheeran
    2. Want To Want Me- Jason Derulo
    3. Tear In My Heart- Twenty One Pilots
    4. See You Again- Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth
    5. Can't Sleep Love- Pentatonix

I really want Like I'm Gonna Lose You, Emergency, Hula Hoop, Confident, and Here to enter, but I know a few of them will not. I also want Break A Sweat to enter as well.

    Hitbound Top 5:

    1. Emergency- Icona Pop
    2. Here- Alessia Cara
    3. Confident- Demi Lovato
    4. Hula Hoop- OMI
    5. Like I'm Gonna Lose You- Meghan Trainor ft. John Legend

I really love Love Me Like You, Magnets, and I'm In Love With A Monster. Other than that that's really it.

Also today is actually my 17th birthday, and I gotta say this is a really good countdown today. Unlike when Adrian had his birthday, which I believe he said was terrible to me this was a good countdown for me.

    1. Happy Birthday!

Also there is no separate version of Same Old Love with Charli XCX. Charli XCX kind of has a hidden part where her vocals come in along with Selena Gomez's in the chorus.

I'm In Love With A Monster (Blue)
    Cake By The Ocean (Purple)

CBTO is just soooo catchy!! I'm sorry for anyone who hates it!!

    HITBOUND

OMG I LOOOOVE CONFIDENT!!!! It's not as good as Back Together or Emergency, but it's still really good!!

Here needs to leave Hitbound. It has grown to be extremely annoying at this point.

Back Together or Emergency will probably not debut, which is a bad thing for me.

Freedom also needs to leave, mainly because I can't stand the guy.

I finally grew into Hula Hoop, like Adrian grew into Freedom.

    TOP 5 HITBOUND
