New Entrants
~ Shoot me now. OneRepublic – I Lived and Kelly Clarkson – Heartbeat Song have re-entered the countdown. What the f**k is wrong with the countdown gods. Now we have to live with these songs for another few weeks depending on how long they stay.

~ Our third re-entry strange enough comes from 5 Seconds Of Summer – What I Like About You. This is their only countdown song that I'm not sick of (yet). Honestly, I don't know where this song is going to land next week, whether it leaves or moves up a few spots. We'll have to wait and see.

~ One of the two best things that happened this week was the debut of the lead single from the Furious 7 soundtrack, Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth – See You Again. This song is currently the #1 song on iTunes as well as Billboard Hot 100. This song is hands-down one of the best songs of 2015. It's a beautifully written track that is a tribute to former Fast & Furious actor, Paul Walker, who passed away almost a year and a half ago. I don't know how anyone can not like this song. Wiz Khalifa, who is well known for making real shitty music, shows that he can rap about things other than women and sex, which is what the majority of male artists write their songs about nowadays. *cough* our #1 song *cough*. Charlie Puth also contributes a good amount into the song with the nice vocals in the chorus. But all in all, I absolutely love this song. The music video is extremely emotional. It is definitely locked on to a spot for the End Of The Year Top 45. Since it's #1 on iTunes, I should be able to see some success out of it.

This Is My Heartbeat Blurb
~ I'm kind of annoyed that Sugar managed to hit #1, but not Animals. Especially since Animals is way better than Sugar. So I'm a little annoyed by that. But hey, we could've had worse at #1 like Thinking Out Loud or even Uptown Funk.

~ It gets a little more exciting at #2 however. Since this is the highest Ellie Goulding has ever gotten on the countdown, it's pretty clear that Love Me Like You Do is her biggest song up-to-date. I would very much love to see this song hit its well-deserved #1 spot in the near future (by that I mean next week). So if that can happen, I'll be happy.

~ Moving right on down to #3. The fact this is only the second week Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance has spent in the Top 10, it's pretty clear it's aiming for the #1 spot. I really don't mind if this song hits #1. But it will become a problem if it prevents Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do from hitting #1.

~ Flo Rida – GDFR has entered the Top 10. It probably won't be a while until this song gets annoying and I'll be begging for it to leave.

~ The fact that the Biggest Jump Of The Week is Ella Henderson – Ghost is kinda sad. Just putting that out there.

~ Vance Joy – Riptide and Eden XO – The Weekend need to leave the countdown already!!! They should've left this week!

~ Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You, All Time Low – Something's Gotta Give, and AJR – Infinity all aired quite a bit over the course of the week. It's shocking that they didn't debut.

~ My parents can't stand the YouTube15. Mainly because Jenna Marbles is the host. They think she's annoying. But I actually think she's downright funny. When I listen to it on Friday evenings, she always makes me laugh one way or another. So I very much enjoy listening to her show every week.

#1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Avril Lavigne – Fly

My Top 5 Picks
1. TIE: Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth – See You Again
1. TIE: David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack – Hey Mama

    2. There's a lot of red because Hits 1 hangs on to these songs way too long that they get way too old.

    3. I agree they're was a lot of green last year Cuz hits 1 DIDNT keep the songs on too long

      Delete
    4. Yeah...but hits 1 really doesn't have much of extra choices to chose because the music industry isn't creating many new songs that could remove the red ones. Once you picked all of the used to be good songs, you don't really have a choice. Unless they Re-Enter good songs that left too soon or Debut songs that should be Debuted

    34. About time this song joined the countdown. (green)
***Pause: Last night, because I thought they would debut the countdown, I listened to All Time Low - Something's Gotta Give, and AJR - Infinity. I like them. I'm just surprised that all of those songs aired at their highest rate to date, and they didn't debut. I guess it's probably the votes.***
    33. Don't give in yet. (purple)
    32. YES NEW PEAK BABY (green)
    31. THAT'S MORE THAN ENOUGH (turquoise)
    30. Not surprising, really. (green)
    29. This song seems like it'll pull a FourFiveSeconds. (blue)
    28. I'm happy this got Biggest Jump…Adrian…>:| (green)
    27. It was inevitable that this would smash. :( (grey - my new color for bland)

    21. Now I think this one's reached its peak. (green)
    20. UGH (orange - tied with #43)
    19. I'm going to predict that this song'll get the Biggest DROP!… at least once. (green - remix is annoying, though)
    18. I think I haven't loved this song as much as I have now. (green)

    8. Somehow I think I'm the only one in my class who doesn't like this song. (red)
    7. HIT NUMBER ONE NOW (green)
    6. That's more than enough. (turquoise)
    5. This song is great, but it has had its run. (pink)
    4. Thank you. One week was about as much as I could stand. (yellow/gray)
    3. If this doesn't hit #1, I will SCREAM. (green)

This Week's #NúmeroUnoPorFavors: Zedd/Selena Gomez - I Want You to Know, Echosmith - Bright, and Andy Grammer - Honey, I'm Good.
Thatchos' Most Missed Song of the Week: Fall Out Boy - Alone Together
Song I Suddenly Really Love of the Week: Tori Kelly - Nobody Love
Song Not on Hits 1 I Recommend of the Week: Alesso/Roy English - Cool
Song That Shouldn't Touch Hits 1 of the Week: (sorry, guys, but…) Fifth Harmony/Kid Ink - Worth It
Song That's Been Stuck in My Head All Day: Ryn Weaver - Octahate
Song That Still MUST Debut of the Week: Nate Ruess - Nothing Without Love
Throwback Pick of the Week: Elton John - Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me

This week's Continental Chart is OUT!
Will Imagine Dragons cling on to that #1 for a second week?
Or will Walk the Moon or LunchMoney Lewis swoop in and take the lead?
You can find the answers to those questions right here:
      http://continentalchart.blogspot.com/2015/04/continental-chart-week-of-april-18-2015.html
(Fun fact: This week's Weekend Countdown and this week's Continental Chart each have three re-entrants as well as See You Again debuting.)

I talked to some of my classmates this week about some of the popular music out there, and here are some songs they said they loved:
Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth - See You Again (Yeah, baby!)
Walk the Moon - Shut Up and Dance (WOOP WOOP!)
      Flo Rida/Sage the Gemini/Lookas - GDFR (....no.)
Nate Ruess - Nothing Without Love (YAAAAAAAAAAS)
"Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk You Up"

Okay, maybe that last one was a joke, but that's the artist and title of the song to them.

      Aaaaaaand that's it for me!
      Keep calm and…prosper…? (I don't know.)
      Thatchos is out! PEACE!

    5. And by the way, Hey Mama is not bland. It is definitely one of my favorite songs from David Guetta. Super catchy song that it is definitely better than other songs like Dangerous (not that Dangerous wasn't good).

    6. Hey, we all got our own opinions. That's what this place is for, right?
My opinion is that Dangerous is still the best single I've heard from Listen, with What I Did for Love coming second.
Now that I've thought about it, Hey Mama isn't that bland. It just seems too inevitable that it's a hit. That's all.

    4. It's not that I necessarily want LMLYD at #1, it's just that out of the three most likely candidates this week, that's my choice.

  56. RedFoo-Juicy Wiggle is the best, they play it at my dance class. We'll I am in outraged to dance to it so I should like it. I can't complain if I don't want to dance to that song. I did it once when they 1st played it but my instructor Karen is pretty nice but she likes it when I dance to all the songs

I think this is a good knock off though

    1. That's because Redfoo is from LMFAO. And because he's for whatever reason not aiming for a new sound, of course it sound similar to Party Rock Anthem.

  67. Hey, guys. It's Thatchos.
I have some bad news: This weekend I'll be a little behind. Why? Well, two reasons:
    1. I lost my iPad, which I usually comment the countdown from. I'm currently typing from an iPod Touch. I'll try to log on to my account somewhere else, but it may not work.
    2. As for this week's Continental Chart…well, I haven't even finished writing it yet. And I usually have it written by now. Hey, I usually have 95% of the blog draft written by now. (I write the chart down on paper, then I make the blog post. More info on that later.)
I can't guarantee that I'll be able to post at the right times tomorrow; there's a chance, but don't count on it. I just wanted to let you guys know so you wouldn't be surprised. Thanks!
    -"Thatchy"
(P.S. Adrian was a little critical of last week's Breakout Hit…but, Adrian, I promise you will love this week's biggest tumble and biggest leap. :D)
