~ I'm getting kinda tired of Taylor Swift at this point. She debuted with Style, which to me, is just another song. Nothing special to it. It may grow on me. We'll have to wait and see.
~ Both Usher – I Don't Mind and Ne-Yo – She Knows originally had Juicy J in them. But since Hits 1 doesn't like Juicy J, they thought it would be a good idea to remove him from both songs. I Don't Mind is most definitely not Usher's best. Comparing this to songs like DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love, Hot Tottie, Somebody To Love, Scream, and More, you can easily tell the difference. Usher made a terrible decision to make music like a lot of rap artists by using just one simple beat. People don't understand that this simple of a beat is boring as hell. Even She Came To Give It To You was better than this crap. In terms of She Knows, I think Ne-Yo's better when he's featured in songs like Pitbull – Give Me Everything, Calvin Harris – Let's Go, and David Guetta – Play Hard rather than as a solo artist. She Knows is definitely better than I Don't Mind. Ne-Yo has some nice vocals in this song. It will probably grow on me. There's a greater chance of this growing on me than Style.
~ Olly Murs has returned this week as he debuted with Wrapped Up featuring Travie McCoy, who you never know when he's gonna retire from music considering the fact that he hasn't made much music lately. The song is really catchy. It's better than Dance With Me Tonight, but doesn't quite hit the height of Troublemaker.
~ Finally we have Life Of Dillon making their very first countdown debut with Overload. These guys kinda have this Timeflies sound to them, both in their music and in their vocals. If you flashback to when Timeflies – All The Way was on the countdown, you can tell that these two groups kinda have similar sounding voices. Of course, Overload is not as EDM sounding as All The Way. But you get the basic idea. Overload is really catchy and good in its own little way. I doubt it'll stay here long. So I'm just gonna enjoy it for however long it's here.

ReplyDeleteThe performance of Thinking Out Loud at the Grammys with Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Herbie Hancock, and Questlove was just PERFECT. Simply PERFECT.
ReplyDeleteGuys, I've got a feeling that this is THE week for Thinking Out Loud.
The Grammy performance shot it up to #1 on iTunes.
Also, this week is freakin' VALENTINE'S DAY.
Combine all those factors with the popularity it already has (practically the #2 song in America now), and I am sure that this week Thinking Out Loud will simply be the #1 song in America. (It won't be until next week on the Hot 100, because the data is collected the week before.)

I don't think there was a lot of Hit-Bound playing this week. We may either have no entrants or we may have a random re-entrant. Take Me To Church needs to get into the Top 5. I would be super happy if it hit #1. I saw the music video for that song just recently, and I teared up. It was sad. :'(
DeleteAlso, I would prefer Blank Space at the top over Thinking Out Loud, but it probably won't happen.
NOTE: Thinking Out Loud is in blue right now. If it hits #1, that may affect the song's color-code. The Valentine's Day edition of the Hit 45 Chart is currently being worked on.
I think it would be a crime if Thinking Out Loud didn't hit #1 this week. If it doesn't hit #1 until April or something, it would probably be in pink or yellow by that point.
